He shakes his head.

Yodel Bird laughs and starts to yawn. Yodel Bird lies against his pillow.

She slowly sneaks away from the nest but Yodel Bird wakes.

Donkey turns to face Yodel Bird as he giggles.

A friend calls, DONKEY!
Purple Panda walks over to Yodel Bird’s nest.
He says, HI!

BABY YODEL BIRD,

WITH HIS NAP.
Panda says, OH! WHAT A CUTIE!

He waves to Yodel Bird.

Panda chuckles.

THE NAP PROBLEM?
BECAUSE A LOT OF PEOPLE SAY
THAT I'M AN EXPERT ON NAPS
AND NAPPING AND PRETTY MUCH

Panda chuckles.

He taps his paw against his chin. He gasps.

He giggles quietly.

He looks to his left and whispers, HIT IT!
(Soft music plays)
Panda vocalizes quietly as he performs an interpretative dance. Donkey gasps. Yodel Bird watches with his eyes closed half way. Panda continues his quiet vocalizing as he sways his body. Yodel Bird yawns. Donkey and Panda look at Yodel Bird slowly starting to fall asleep and gasp.
Donkey whispers, KEEP DANCING, PANDA!
IT'S WORKING!
Panda whispers, OKAY!
He continues his performance. Donkey and Yodel Bird start to look sleepy. Yodel Bird yawns and lies back in his nest. Panda looks at Yodel bird and smiles.
Yodel Bird quietly says, YODEL-LAY...
He sits upright in his nest.
He loudly says, …HEE-HOO!
Panda looks startled. Yodel Bird giggles.
Panda says, DONKEY, THIS NAPPING PROBLEM
SEEMS TO BE HARDER THAN I...
Donkey sleeps against Yodel Bird’s nest.
Panda says, ...THOUGHT.
DONKEY?
Donkey jerks awake.
She says, OH, WHATWHAT, WHO, WHERE?
OH, I FELL ASLEEP
WATCHING YOUR NAP DANCE.
Donkey giggles and Panda nods.
Panda says, YEAH. BUT HE DIDN'T.
He points to Yodel Bird, who giggles. Duck Duck joins the friends.
She says, HEY HEY!
Panda says, OH, DUCK DUCK!

Donkey says, OH HI, DUCK DUCK!
Duck Duck says, HEY, I HEARD YOU WERE
BABYSITTING THE BABY YODEL BIRD,

Duck Duck quickly leaves. She returns with a book.

Panda looks at Donkey.
Together they say, READ IT!
Duck Duck says, MM.
She clears her throat.
She reads, NAPS ARE COZY.

NAPS ARE CUDDLY.
Donkey whispers, IT'S WORKING!
Panda nods.
Duck Duck continues, HUG YOUR BLANKIE.
HUG YOUR PILLOW.
CLOSE YOUR EYES.
FEEL ALL MELLOW.
IT'S TIME TO NAP.
Yodel Bird’s head starts to drop toward his pillow. Donkey and Panda look sleepy. Donkey starts to lean against Panda but stops herself.
Duck Duck reads, LISTEN TO THE NAP TIME CHIME.
CHIME, CHIME, CHIME...
Yodel Bird yawns and lies back against his pillow.
Duck Duck says, LOOK, LOOK!
HE'S ABOUT TO FALL ASLEEP!
She looks back at her book.
She reads, CHIME, CHIM,E CHIME.
Duck Duck looks at Yodel Bird sleeping.
She says, YEAH.
Yodel Bird softly says, YODEL-LAY...
He lifts his head off his pillow.
He loudly adds, …HEE-HOO!
Duck Duck says, WOAH! WHAT!?

HE'S NOT NAPPING!
Panda and Donkey snore as they sleep standing up. Donkey leans against Panda

WOULD PLAY QUIET PEEK-A-BOO
TO HELP ME FALL ASLEEP!
She looks at Yodel Bird.
She says, IT'S WORTH A TRY!
Donkey ducks below the nest.
Yodel Bird says, OH.
He looks around.
He says, YODEL?
Donkey pops up on the other side of the nest.
She says, PEEK-A-BOO!
Yodel Bird laughs and Donkey ducks below the nest.
Yodel bird says, YODEL?
Donkey pops up on the other side of the nest.
She says, PEEK-A-BOO!
She and Yodel Bird laugh. Yodel Bird’s laugh turns into a yawn.
Donkey says, IT'S WORKING!
She ducks below the nest.
Yodel Bird says, OH, YODEL?
Donkey pops up behind Yodel Bird.
She quietly says, PEEK-A-BOO!
Yodel Bird laughs and starts to yawn. Yodel Bird lies against his pillow.
Donkey quietly says, YES, HE'S FALLING ASLEEP!
She slowly sneaks away from the nest but Yodel Bird wakes.
He sings, YODEL-LAY-HEE-HOO!
Donkey turns to face Yodel Bird as he giggles.
She says, OH, BABY YODEL BIRD!
A friend calls, DONKEY!
Purple Panda walks over to Yodel Bird’s nest.
He says, HI!
Donkey says, SHHHHH!
PANDA, I'M BABYSITTING
BABY YODEL BIRD,
AND I'M HAVING PROBLEMS
WITH HIS NAP.
Panda says, OH! WHAT A CUTIE!
HI!
He waves to Yodel Bird.
Yodel Bird says, YODEL!
Panda chuckles.
He says, WHAT SEEMS TO BE
THE NAP PROBLEM?
BECAUSE A LOT OF PEOPLE SAY
THAT I'M AN EXPERT ON NAPS
AND NAPPING AND PRETTY MUCH
EVERYTHING NAPS.
Panda chuckles.
Donkey says, I CAN'T GET HIM TO TAKE ONE.
Purple says, OH.
Donkey says, AND NOW I DON'T KNOW
WHAT TO DO.
Panda says, HMM...
He taps his paw against his chin. He gasps.
He says, I KNOW WHAT TO DO!
Donkey asks, WHAT?
Panda says, WHEN I WAS LITTLE AND I
DIDN'T WANT TO TAKE MY NAP,
MY MAMA HAD A WAY
TO ALWAYS GET ME TO SLEEP.
WITH THE DANCE OF THE NAP-NAP.
Donkey says, THE DANCE OF THE NAP-NAP?
Panda says, YEAH, IT'S THIS SLOW,
COMFORTING DANCE
THAT MY MAMA WOULD DO.
IT WOULD PUT ME TO SLEEP
IN NO TIME!
He giggles quietly.
Donkey says, OH!
WELL, WILL YOU TRY IT?
Panda says, OF COURSE, I WILL!
He looks to his left and whispers, HIT IT!
(Soft music plays)
Panda vocalizes quietly as he performs an interpretative dance. Donkey gasps. Yodel Bird watches with his eyes closed half way. Panda continues his quiet vocalizing as he sways his body. Yodel Bird yawns. Donkey and Panda look at Yodel Bird slowly starting to fall asleep and gasp.
Donkey whispers, KEEP DANCING, PANDA!
IT'S WORKING!
Panda whispers, OKAY!
He continues his performance. Donkey and Yodel Bird start to look sleepy. Yodel Bird yawns and lies back in his nest. Panda looks at Yodel bird and smiles.
Yodel Bird quietly says, YODEL-LAY...
He sits upright in his nest.
He loudly says, …HEE-HOO!
Panda looks startled. Yodel Bird giggles.
Panda says, DONKEY, THIS NAPPING PROBLEM
SEEMS TO BE HARDER THAN I...
Donkey sleeps against Yodel Bird’s nest.
Panda says, ...THOUGHT.
DONKEY?
Donkey jerks awake.
She says, OH, WHATWHAT, WHO, WHERE?
OH, I FELL ASLEEP
WATCHING YOUR NAP DANCE.
Donkey giggles and Panda nods.
Panda says, YEAH. BUT HE DIDN'T.
He points to Yodel Bird, who giggles. Duck Duck joins the friends.
She says, HEY HEY!
Panda says, OH, DUCK DUCK!
HI!
Donkey says, OH HI, DUCK DUCK!
Duck Duck says, HEY, I HEARD YOU WERE
BABYSITTING THE BABY YODEL BIRD,
SO I WANTED TO COME BY
AND SAY HEY HEY!
SO...
HEY HEY!
Yodel Bird says, YODEL! YODEL!
Duck Duck says, YEAH. SO, HOW'S THE BIRDIE
SITTING GOING?
Donkey says, IT WAS GOING GREAT
UNTIL IT WAS TIME FOR HIS NAP.
Panda says, YEAH!
HE JUST DOESN'T WANT TO NAP.
I TRIED DOING THE DANCE
OF THE NAP-NAP,
WHICH ALWAYS WORKED FOR ME
WHEN I WAS LITTLE.
Donkey says, AND I TRIED QUIET PEEK-A-BOO,
WHICH ALWAYS WORKED FOR ME.
Duck Duck says, HMMM.
Panda asks, WHAT ELSE CAN WE DO?
YEAH?
Donkey says, DUCK DUCK, YOU GOT ANY IDEAS?
Duck Duck says, HMM.
OH! HEY HEY!
I REMEMBER WHAT ALWAYS GOT ME
TO NAP WHEN I WAS LITTLE!
MY PARENTS WOULD READ ME...
Duck Duck quickly leaves. She returns with a book.
She says, THE NAP BOOK! MMM-HMM.
Donkey says, THE NAP BOOK?
Duck Duck says, YEP YEP!
IT'S A BOOK ALL ABOUT
HOW NAPS ARE SO GREAT!
Panda looks at Donkey.
Together they say, READ IT!
Duck Duck says, MM.
She clears her throat.
She reads, NAPS ARE COZY.
NAPS ARE COMFY.
NAPS ARE WARM.
NAPS ARE CUDDLY.
Donkey whispers, IT'S WORKING!
Panda nods.
Duck Duck continues, HUG YOUR BLANKIE.
HUG YOUR PILLOW.
CLOSE YOUR EYES.
FEEL ALL MELLOW.
IT'S TIME TO NAP.
Yodel Bird’s head starts to drop toward his pillow. Donkey and Panda look sleepy. Donkey starts to lean against Panda but stops herself.
Duck Duck reads, LISTEN TO THE NAP TIME CHIME.
CHIME, CHIME, CHIME...
Yodel Bird yawns and lies back against his pillow.
Duck Duck says, LOOK, LOOK!
HE'S ABOUT TO FALL ASLEEP!
She looks back at her book.
She reads, CHIME, CHIM,E CHIME.
Duck Duck looks at Yodel Bird sleeping.
She says, YEAH.
Yodel Bird softly says, YODEL-LAY...
He lifts his head off his pillow.
He loudly adds, …HEE-HOO!
Duck Duck says, WOAH! WHAT!?
Yodel Bird says, HA-HA!
Duck Duck says, OH NO, NO!
HE'S NOT NAPPING!
Panda and Donkey snore as they sleep standing up. Donkey leans against Panda
Duck Duck says, OH, BUT, UH,
SOMEONE'S NAPPING.
DONKEY? PANDA?
Donkey and Panda jerk awake.
Donkey says, WHO? WHAT?
Panda says, WHEN AND HOW?!
Duck Duck says, I SAID HE'S NOT NAPPING.
OH, I THOUGHT FOR SURE
MY NAP BOOK WOULD WORK.
Panda stands beside Duck Duck.
He says, IT WORKED ON ME!
Duck Duck says, HMM.
Donkey says, THIS IS SO FRUSTRATING!
I'M SUPPOSED TO GET HIM TO NAP,
AND HE WON'T NAP!
Donkey and her friends gather in front of Yodel Bird’s nest.
Duck Duck says, YEAH, NONE OF
OUR OWN IDEAS WORK.
Donkey says, HMM. OUR OWN IDEAS?
OUR OWN IDEAS...?
Panda says, YEAH, THOSE WERE OUR
OWN IDEAS, DONKEY.
Duck Duck says, MMM-HMM.
Donkey says, WELL, MAYBE WE CAN THINK
OF SOME NEW IDEAS
TO GET HIM TO SLEEP.
Duck Duck says, HMMM...
Panda says, HMMM...
The friends look thoughtful.
Duck Duck says, SO, WE ALL THOUGHT ABOUT
WHAT WORKED FOR US
TO HELP US NAP
WHEN WE WERE LITTLE.
Donkey says, BUT WHAT ABOUT THINKING
ABOUT WHAT MIGHT WORK
FOR THE YODEL BIRD?
Panda says, OH.

He and Duck Duck nod.
Duck Duck says, MM-HMM.
HEY HEY! THAT MAKES SENSE!
WHAT WORKED FOR US MIGHT

Duck Duck says, MM-HMM. MM-HMM.
The friends nod.
Donkey says, YEAH, WHAT WORKS
FOR THE BABY YODEL BIRD?
The three friends say, HMMM.
They look deep in thought.
Donkey says, OH OH OH!
I REMEMBER WHEN THE BABY WAS
WITH HIS MOMMA YODEL BIRD,
HE LIKED HIS MOM TO ROCK HIM.
Panda says, OH! WELL, THERE'S NO BETTER
ROCKER THAN ME!
He rocks Yodel Bird in his nest.
Yodel Bird says, AHH. AHH.
Panda whispers, CHECK OUT
THIS ROCKING ACTION...
Duck Duck says, MM-HMM.
Donkey says, OH, HE IS DEFINITELY
ENJOYING THE ROCKING!
Duck Duck says, YEAH!
HEY HEY, I JUST REMEMBERED
THAT BABY YODEL BIRDS LOVE
TO FEEL A COOL GENTLE BREEZE
BECAUSE IT REMINDS THEM
OF FLYING.
MAYBE THAT WOULD HELP HIM SLEEP!
Donkey says, MM-HMM.
She nods.
Panda says, YEAH.
Duck Duck says, ONE COOL GENTLE BREEZE
COMING UP!
She gently flaps her wings.
She says, AH, YEAH.
Yodel Bird lies back in his nest.
Duck Duck says, HEY HEY, HE'S GETTING
ALL SNUGGLY!
IT'S WORKING!
Donkey nods.
Panda whispers, GEE. WHAT ELSE WILL WORK
FOR THE BABY YODEL BIRD?
Donkey says, HMM...
HEY, I KNOW!
She quickly leaves and returns with a guitar.
She says, HOW ABOUT A YODEL LULLABY,
LIKE HIS MAMA SINGS?
Donkey plays soft music on her guitar. Panda and Duck Duck vocalize as she sings.
Donkey sings, SAFE IN YOUR NEST,
IT'S TIME TO REST.
YOUR YODEL SITTERS
KNOW JUST WHAT TO DO.

AND WE WILL BEGIN
TRYING TOGETHER

Donkey plays her guitar while Panda continues rocking Yodel Bird’s nest and Duck Duck gently flaps her wings.

The three friends gasp and tense up. Yodel Bird snores. The friends exhale heavily.
Donkey whispers says, WE DID IT!
Panda whispers, YEAH, HE'S SLEEPING!
Duck Duck says, YES YES!
Panda quietly chuckles.
Donkey says, IT WAS SO IMPORTANT
TO THINK ABOUT WHAT THE BABY
YODEL BIRD NEEDED
INSTEAD OF JUST WHAT WE NEEDED!

Panda quietly chuckles. Donkey yawns. Panda and Duck Duck yawn.
Donkey says, ALL THAT TRYING TO GET
BABY YODEL BIRD TO NAP
SURE GOT ME TIRED.
She rests against a tree.
Panda says, YEAH, ME TOO.
Duck Duck says, YEAH, ME TOO-TOO.
Panda sighs as he sits against the tree beside Donkey. Duck Duck sits on her other side.
Donkey says, I KINDA FEEL
LIKE NAPPING NOW TOO.
Panda nods.
He says, YEAH, ME TOO.
Duck Duck says, ME TOO-TOO.
The friends eyes look heavy as they get comfortable against the tree. Their eyes close and they fall asleep, snoring. Yodel Bird sleeps in his nest close by.
