Transcript: Saving Action Ape
In an animated forest, pink butterflies fly above trees.
[Cheerful music plays]
Young monkey Tee pops out from behind a rock in the forest.
He says, HA-HA!
His mother, Mo, pops up beside him. She wears a flower above her ear and giggles.
A narrator says, THIS IS THE STORY
OF TEE AND MO.
Tee and Mo wiggle their ears.
The narrator says, A LITTLE MONKEY AND HIS MONKEY
MUM.
Mo wears a purple skirt. She and Tee throw a yellow tablecloth over the rock.
The narrator says, WHO SOMETIMES WANT TO DO
DIFFERENT THINGS.
Mo holds up a pineapple. Tee giggles and holds up a tall sandwich.
The narrator says, BUT ALWAYS
END UP HAVING FUN TOGETHER.
Tee and Mo eat their snacks together. They toss aside their tablecloth and snacks and wave to their animal friends. Lily, a tiger cub, Tomo, a flying squirrel, Mr. Og, a warthog, and Heidi, a hippo. Tee hops into his moms arms and they smile.

[Birds chirping]
Outside Tee and Mo’s house in the forest, a toy with a red mask lands on the ground with a loud squeak. Tee runs up beside the toy.
Tee says, OOH-AH-OOH.
He picks up the toy.
The narrator says, LOOKS LIKE TEE IS PLAYING
WITH ACTION APE TODAY.
[Tee grunts]
Tee throws Action Ape. Action Ape hits the house’s door.
[Action Ape squeaks]
The narrator says, YIKES.
Action Ape slowly slides down the door.
The narrator says, CAREFUL, TEE.
Tee runs and picks up Action Ape. He runs with Action Ape above him as if Action Ape were flying.
[Tee grunts]
Tee throws Action Ape. The toy hits a tree. It starts to slide down but gets stuck on a branch.
The narrator says, UH-OH.
[Tee gasps]
Tee looks worried as he runs to the tree.
The narrator says, OH, NO.
ACTION APE IS STUCK IN THE
TREE.
Tee yells, MO?
He pants as he runs toward the house.
He yells, MO!
Mo steps outside with a broom and basket.
She says, TEE?
Tee runs up to Mo.
He says, OOH-OOH-OOH-OOH.
He jumps up and down as he points toward the tree.
He says, OOH-AH OOH-AH OOH-AH OOH-AH.
Tee runs back to the tree.
He says, OOH-AH OOH-AH OOH-AH.
Mo walks up to the tree with her broom and basket.
The narrator says, ACTION APE IS IN DANGER.
Mo says, OOH-AH OOH-OOH-OOH-AH.
The narrator says, TEE AND MO CAN SAVE HIM.
Mo smiles. She holds the broom while Tee holds the basket. He looks confused.
He says, HMM?
Mo gently nudges Action Ape with the broom.
[Action Ape squaks]
The toy falls out of the tree and into the basket. Tee smiles. He puts down the basket.
He says, OOH-OOH-OOH.
Tee takes Action Ape out of the basket.
He says, AHA.
HA-HA.
Mo says, HMM.
She looks thoughtful.
She says, OOH-AH-OOH.
The narrator says, WHAT'S THAT IN THE BASKET?
Mo picks up a piece of stuffing from the basket.
The narrator says, OH, DEAR.
IT LOOKS LIKE ACTION APE'S
STUFFING IS FALLING OUT.
Stuffing falls out of a whole in Action Ape’s back.
Mo says, OOH-AH OH-AH-OOH.
OOH-OOH-AH.
She drops the stuffing in the basket.
The narrator says, PERHAPS MO CAN FIX HIM, TEE.
Tee pulls Action Ape away out of Mo’s reach.
He says, MM-MMM.
He shakes his head.
Mo says, OOH-OOH OOH-AH.
The narrator says, YOU NEED TO BE A BIT MORE
CAREFUL WITH HIM, TEE.
Tee says, OOH-AH.
He hugs Action Ape.
He says, MMM.
OOH-AH-OOH!
Tee runs off with Action Ape. Mo frowns.
She says, HMM.
Elsewhere in the forest, more stuffing falls out of Action Ape as he flies through the air and lands headfirst in a sandbox. Tee runs into the sandbox behind him.
[Tee gasps]
Tee says, OOH-AH OOH-AH!
He points a finger to the sky and smiles.
The narrator says, ACTION APE IS IN DANGER!
Tee pushes Action Ape into a tunnel in the sand.
The narrator says, HE APPEARS TO BE STUCK IN A
SANDY CAVE.
Tee moves Action Ape through the sand to a pink button.
The narrator says, BUT LOOK: TREASURE!
Action Ape carries the button.
The narrator says, CAREFUL, ACTION APE.
YOU DON'T WANT A CAVE-IN.
Sand falls over Action Ape.
Tee says, OOH-AH-AH OOH-AH.
The narrator says, TEE CAN SAVE HIM.
Tee digs Action Ape out of the sand with a shovel.
[Action Ape squeaks]
[Tee grunts]
Action Ape flies out of the sand.
The narrator says, I THOUGHT YOU WERE GOING TO BE
A BIT MORE GENTLE, TEE.
Tee says, OOH-AH.
OOH-AH-OOH!
He holds up Action Ape and runs away. Elsewhere in the forest, Action Ape floats on water.
The narrator says, ACTION APE IS IN DANGER
AGAIN!
Rubber ducks float after Action Ape.
The narrator says, THE MONSTER DUCKS ARE AFTER
HIM!
Tee pops up beside a small pool that Action Ape and the rubber ducks float in.
He says, HUH?
OOH.
HA-HA.
Tee leaves but returns with a grabber toy.
The narrator says, TEE CAN SAVE HIM.
Tee clicks the tongs of the grabber toy together. He grabs Action Ape with the toy.
[Action Ape squeaks]
More stuffing falls out of Action Ape as Tee pulls him out of the pool. Tee drops the grabbing grabber toy and catches Action Ape.
The narrator says, OOH, YAY!
OUR HERO IS SAVED, AGAIN.
Tee says, OOH-AH-OOH!
He runs away with Action Ape as more stuffing falls out. By the tree, Action Ape lands on the ground with a rope tied around him. A purple and pink dinosaur toy lands beside Action Ape.
[The narrator gasps]
The narrator says, THERE'S A HUNGRY DINOSAUR.
[The narrator gasps]
A blue ball is beside the tree.
The narrator says, AND THERE'S THE BALL OF DOOM.
Tee rolls the ball into Action Ape.
Action Ape squeaks]
Action Ape loses more stuffing. He looks dirty.
The narrator says, ACTION APE IS IN DANGER AGAIN.
Tee grunts pulls the other end of the rope that Action Ape is tied too that is hooked over the branch. Action Ape is pulled up onto the branch. Tee frowns.
The narrator says, TEE SAVES HIM.
[Tee gasps]
The narrator says, WELL, ALMOST.
Tee says, AHA.
He runs away panting. He looks determined as he returns with Mo’s broom and basket. Tee looks at Action Ape and the basket. He looks nervous.
The narrator says, REMEMBER, TEE: BE GENTLE.
Tee swings the broom and swats Action Ape out of the tree. The toy lands on the ground and loses more stuffing. Tee walks up to the damaged toy.
[Tee gasps]
The narrator says, OH, DEAR.
ALL OF ACTION APE'S STUFFING
HAS COME OUT.
Tee kneels by Action Ape. He looks sad as he picks up stuffing.
Tee says, OOH.
The narrator says, WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO NOW,
TEE?
Tee holds Action Ape. In the house, Mo uses a smartphone. She frowns as Tee walks in.
He says, MO?
He looks sad.
Mo says, TEE?
Tee says, OOH-AH OOH-AH OOH-AH-OOH.
OOH!
He holds up Action Ape then hugs Mo. Mo kneels beside Tee.
Mo says, OH.
The narrator says, NOW, ACTION APE REALLY DOES
NEED SAVING.
Action Ape has rips has multiple holes in him and is muddy. Tee loos sad.
Mo says, HMM.
OOH!
She stands and smiles.
The narrator says, ...AND TEE AND MO ARE THE
ONES TO DO IT.
Tee follows Mo through the house. Mo grabs an ironing board and lamp. Tee stands on a chair holding Action Ape. Mo sets up the ironing board and points the lamps light at the board.
Mo says, OOH-OOH, TEE.
Tee places Action Ape on the ironing board. Mo places her phone on the board and it starts beeping like a heart monitor.
She says, OOH-AH OH-AH-OOH.
The narrator says, CAN YOU FIND ALL THE
STUFFING, TEE?
Tee says, WAH!
He jumps off his chair. Outside, he collects Action Ape’s stuffing from the sand box.
He says, AHA.
Tee scoops stuffing out of the pool with a net.
He says, HEE-HEE.
Tee picks up stuffing from beside the tree and hugs it close.
He says, OOH.
Tee holds up the net of wet stuffing. Mo dries the stuffing with a blow dryer. Tee dumps the stuffing onto the ironing board. The beeping noise continues. Tee and Mo put the stuffing back into Action Ape. Mo pulls out different coloured sewing thread.
She says, OOH?
Tee says, HMM.
He looks thoughtfully at the green, yellow, blue and red thread.
Tee says, OOH-AH.
He points to the yellow thread. Mo bites her tongue as she sews the holes in Action Ape closed and places him back on the ironing board.
[Action Ape squeaks]
Mo smiles.
Tee says, OOH-AH-AH OOH-AH.
He holds out four different bandages. One is orange with fish, one is blue with boats, one is pink with cars and the other is green with stars. Mo looks thoughtful.
She says, HMM.
OOH!
She holds up the orange bandage.
Tee says, MM-MM-MMM.
He shakes his head. He looks at the bandages.
He says, HMM.
Tee picks up the green bandage.
He says, AHA!
Mo says, HMM.
She watches Tee bring the bandage toward Action Ape. She dries sweat off of Tee with a towel. Tee has one eye closed. He places the bandage on one of Action Ape’s repaired holes. Tee lets out a relieved sigh and wipes his forehead. He and Mo smile. By the door, Tee hugs Action Ape.
He says, OOH.
The narrator says, OH, HE'S ALL BETTER NOW.
Mo says, OOH-AH OOH-OOH-OOH-AH.
The narrator says, ARE YOU GOING TO PLAY MORE
CAREFULLY NOW, TEE?
Tee says, WAH!
He nods and runs outside with Action Ape.
He says, OOH-AH-OOH!
[Mo giggles]
She says, AH.
Action Ape flies through the door and hits the fridge.
[Action Ape squeaks]
Mo says, OOH?
Action Ape slides down the fridge.
Mo says, TEE!
Tee pokes his head inside.
He says, HA-HA.
He and Mo smile.
[Cheerful music plays]
