I'M GOING ON A WALK WITH THE RAMBLERS TO A PLACE WHERE YOU CAN PUT THESE PEELINGS IN A COMPOSTER. OVER TIME IT ALL ROTS DOWN AND BECOMES COMPOST. AND THAT HELPS MORE PLANTS AND FLOWERS TO GROW. Hamza says, A FOX, A SNAKE, AND A TURTLE. THAT WOULD BE FUN. I CAN'T SEE ANY IN THIS PLAY PARK. BUT THE RAMBLERS HAVE SPOTTED SOME GREAT SHAPES IN THE FENCING.
Amber says, DIAMONDS.

Ezra says, IF YOU TURN IT ROUND, IT'S A SQUARE.
Hamza says, SHALL WE TURN OUR HEADS THEN AND SEE IF IT'S A SQUARE? AW YEAH! I CAN SEE THAT.

Hamza says, DIAMOND, SQUARE. THE RAMBLERS HAVE SPOTTED SOMETHING VERY STRANGE ON THIS FENCE.
Ezra says, THE TREE IS GROWING OVER IT!
Hamza says, YEAH!

Hamza says, DO YOU THINK THE TREE THINKS THE FENCE TASTES NICE?
The children say, EURGH! YUCK.
Hamza says, IMAGINE EATING A FENCE? YUCK. DON'T THINK THAT WILL TASTE NICE.
A child says, THE TREE EATS THE FENCE FOR ITS DINNER. CHOMP CHOMP CHOMP.
Hamza says, WE FOLLOW THE FENCE TO FIND THE GATE INTO THE MEADOW. LOOK, WE FOUND THIS SIGN NEXT TO THE GATE.

Ezra says, A BUG.
Hamza asks, A BUG?
Samaya says, A BUG!
Hamza says, I DON'T THINK THAT'S A BUG.
Ezra asks, A DOG?
Hamza says, EXACTLY! THAT'S A DOG. IT SAYS, "BAG IT AND BIN IT" WHICH MEANS?
Amber says, PICK UP YOUR DOG POO!
Ezra says, AND PUT IT IN THE BIN.
Hamza says, THAT'S RIGHT. IT'S GOOD TO KEEP THE PARKS AND MEADOWS NICE AND CLEAN FOR EVERYONE TO ENJOY.
Hamza asks, WHAT COLOUR ARE THESE FLOWERS?
Samaya says, BLUE.

Ezra says, RED AND PINK.
Hamza says, A PINK FLOWER. I WONDER HOW MANY PINK THINGS WE'LL SPOT ALONG THE WAY. KEEP YOUR EYES OPEN AND THEN AT THE END WE'LL SEE HOW MANY YOU NOTICED.

Ezra points to the flowers.
Ezra says, THEY GOT ORANGE EYE.
Hamza says, SOME PEOPLE ALSO CALL THIS A BUTTERFLY BUSH.
Hamza flaps his arms as he walks.
Hamza says, BUTTERFLY GUYS.
Ezra says, YOU CAN FLY LIKE BUTTERFLIES TOO.
Hamza says, I'M A BUTTERFLY!
Samaya says, I'M A BUTTERFLY.

Ezra says, LOOK WHAT I FOUND.
Hamza asks, WHAT HAVE YOU FOUND? PERFECT THIS IS A SENSORY GARDEN. A SENSORY GARDEN MEANS THESE PLANTS HAVE BEEN SPECIALLY GROWN SO THAT WE CAN SMELL AND TOUCH THEM. WHAT DOES THAT SMELL LIKE?
Ezra says, THIS ONE. MINT.
Hamza says, YEAH.
Amber says, SMELL THIS.
Hamza says, OOOH. THIS ONE'S CHIVES.
Samaya says, THIS IS MY FAVOURITE.
Hamza says, THIS ONE'S ROSEMARY. THESE HERBS ARE USED BY GROWNUPS TO MAKE COOKING EXTRA TASTY. I LOVE THE SMELL OF ROSEMARY. IN A SENSORY GARDEN YOU CAN TOUCH AND EVEN LISTEN TO THE SOUND THE PLANTS AND THE HERBS MAKE.
Hamza moves leaves.
Hamza asks, WHICH ONE'S LOUDER? THIS ONE? OR...
Samaya says, THAT ONE.
Ezra says, THE GREEN.
Hamza says, YEAH.
Samaya says, THE GREEN, THE GREEN. THE GREEN!
Hamza says, LOOK WHAT ELSE IS GROWING HERE.
Amber says, OH, THAT LOOKS LIKE A SUNFLOWER.
Hamza says, THAT IS A SUNFLOWER.
Amber says, I'VE GOT ONE IN MY GARDEN.
Ezra says, I'VE GOT A SUNFLOWER AT MY HOUSE AND MINE IS REALLY TALL.
Hamza says, THE SUNFLOWER IS TALL, BUT THIS PLANT ISN'T.

Hamza says SOMETHING'S BEEN EATING THE CABBAGE LEAVES.
Ezra asks, CATERPILLARS?

Ezra says, A SNAIL!
Amber points to a snail on a branch.

Hamza says, A SNAIL! THAT'S WHAT'S BEEN EATING THE CABBAGE LEAVES. ITS BELLY IS ALL FULL AND IT'S HAVING A WEE LITTLE NAP AT THE TOP OF THE STICK.
Amber says, LOOK WHAT I FOUND.

Hamza says, OH YEAH!
Ezra says, LOOK WHAT I FOUND.

A child says, BYE BYE FLOWERS. WE NEED TO KEEP EXPLORING.

Hamza says, THAT'S HALF OF OUR WALK DONE. SO FAR, WE'VE SEEN SHAPES ON ONE FENCE AND A TREE EATING ANOTHER FENCE! THEN FOUND A BUSH FULL OF BUTTERFLIES AND IN THE SENSORY GARDEN WE SPOTTED A SNAIL MUNCHING ON SOME CABBAGE. WHAT ELSE WILL THE RAMBLERS SPOT TODAY?
An apple grows on a tree.
Amber cries, APPLES!!!
Ezra says, MORE APPLES! LOADS AND LOADS OF APPLES!
Hamza says, THESE APPLES ARE DIFFERENT COLOURS. ON THIS SIDE.
Ezra says, IT'S RED.
Hamza says, AND ON THIS SIDE.
Ezra says, GREEN.
Hamza says, YEAH, WHY IS THAT?
Ezra says, BECAUSE IT NEARLY RIPE.
Hamza says, YEAH, SO IT'LL EVENTUALLY RIPEN UP. ALL APPLES START GREEN, BUT AS THEY RIPEN SOME TYPES TURN RED.
Samaya says, LET ME SEE.
Hamza says, YEAH. DO YOU SEE THEM?
Samaya says, WOW.
Hamza says, THEY'RE VERY SMOOTH, AREN'T THEY?
Samaya says, MMMHMM.
Hamza says, I'VE GOT PERMISSION TO PICK AN APPLE FROM THE TREE HERE. SO, WE CAN HAVE A LOOK INSIDE. WHAT DO YOU THINK WE'LL FIND?
Hamza cuts open an apple.
The Ramblers say, SEEDS!
Hamza says, NOW DO YOU KNOW WHAT THE SEEDS DO?
Ezra says, MAKE MORE APPLES!
Hamza says, EXACTLY AND THEY BECOME NEW TREES. WHAT SHAPE CAN YOU SEE HERE?

Hamza says, HAVE YOU? THIS IS A SPECIAL BEEHIVE, SO WE'RE ALLOWED TO HAVE A CLOSER LOOK. BUT YOU SHOULD NEVER GO NEAR A BEEHIVE WITHOUT A GROWN UP. THERE'S A LITTLE HOLE SO WE CAN SAFELY LOOK INSIDE.
Bees move over a honeycomb.
(Buzzing)
Ezra says, THERE'S HONEY IN THERE.
Hamza says, YOU CAN SEE HONEY?

Amber says, OH! I SAW HONEY! OH LOOK! THEY'RE COMING OUT!
Bees fly around the top of the structure.
Hamza asks, WHAT DO YOU TELL ME ABOUT BEES?
Ezra says, THEY MAKE HONEY.
Hamza says, THE BEES BRING BACK THE NECTAR TO THE HIVE. AND WHEN THEY DRY IT TURNS TO HONEY. WHAT DOES HONEY TASTE LIKE?
Ezra says, YUMMY!
Hamza asks, CAN YOU SEE THE SHAPE? WHAT DOES IT LOOK LIKE?
The children say, A HEXAGON!
Hamza says, YEAH! HEXAGON. THE BEEHIVE IS FULL OF HEXAGON SHAPES. CAN YOU SEE THEM IN THE HONEYCOMB? THEY'VE ALL GOT SIX SIDES.

The Ramblers count, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6.
Hamza says, IF WE ALL USE OUR LISTENING EARS. WHAT CAN YOU HEAR UP THERE?
Ezra says, HUMMING?
(Buzzing)
Hamza says, CAN WE ALL HUM LIKE THE BEES? BZZZZ
The Ramblers say, BZZZZ.

(Laughing)
Hamza asks, WHAT DID IT DO? EVERY TIME THEY SHAKE THEIR BOTTOM, THEY'RE TELLING ALL THE OTHER BEESWHERE THEY FOUND THE NECTAR.
Ezra wriggles.
Hamza says, THAT'S A GOOD ONE THAT'S A GOOD SHAKE EZRA.
Everyone shakes and hums.
(Buzzing)
They move over the meadow.
Hamza says, OH, I LIKE YOUR BEE. THAT'S A REALLY GOOD BEE.
(Music playing)
Hamza asks, AH WHAT'S THIS?
Amber says, DIRT.
Hamza says, DIRT?
Ezra says, COMPOST.
Hamza says, IT'S COMPOST. YEAH, THAT'S RIGHT.
Ezra says, I SEEN SOME SNAILS.
Hamza says, I THINK THEY'RE HAVING A RACE. DO YOU REMEMBER I BROUGHT THE LEFTOVERS FROM MY LUNCH?
Hamza takes out a paper bag full of vegetable scraps.
Hamza asks, CAN ANYONE TELL WHAT THIS IS?
Ezra says, POTATOES AND CARROTS.
Hamza says, YEAH, SHALL WE PUT SOME IN THE COMPOST? COME ON THEN.
Amber tosses scraps in the compost bin.
Hamza says, GO ON, ALL OF IT.
Samaya throws in scraps.
Hamza says, GO ON. YEAH, WELL DONE. DO YOU WANNA SEE WHAT THIS TURNS INTO?
The Ramblers cry, YEAH!
Hamza says, COME ON THEN LET'S GO. IT TURNS INTO COMPOST!
Hamza and the others go to a garden. Hamza lifts up a tarp.
Ezra says, WORMS!
Hamza says, YEAH!
Samaya cries, WORMS!
Hamza says, OH, I CAN SEE ONE RIGHT THERE. NOW DO YOU KNOW WHAT THESE WORMS DO?
Ezra says, TURN IT INTO COMPOST.
Hamza says, EXACTLY SO THESE WORMS EAT ALL THE VEGETABLE PEELINGS, AND THEY TURN IT INTO COMPOST, WHICH HELPS THE PLANTS GROW. RIGHT, DO YOU WANNA HELP ME PUT SOME OF THIS COMPOST ONTO THE PLANTS?
The Ramblers cry, YEAH!
They put on gardening gloves.
Hamza says, ALRIGHT. WE BETTER PUT OUR GLOVES ON THEN. THERE'S A BUCKET AND SPADE HERE. THERE'S A PINK ONE! THAT REMINDS ME, HOW MANY PINK THINGS DID YOU SPOT ALONG OUR WALK TODAY. DID YOU SPOT THESE ONES?
(Music playing)
A pink sign is on a post. Pink flowers are on a bush. More pink flowers are in a pot. A pink bucket is in the garden.
Hamza says, YEAH, DO YOU WANT YOUR BUCKET? AND ONE FOR YOU. NOW BEFORE WE START DIGGING CAN ANYONE REMEMBER WHAT WE SAW TODAY?

Hamza says, IN THIS STREET WE SAW A FENCE THAT HAD SHAPES IN IT.
Amber says, DIAMONDS.

Samaya says, BUTTERFLIES!
Hamza says, OUR NOSES LED US TO THE SENSORY GARDEN WHERE WE SPOTTED SOMETHING THAT HAD BEEN MUNCHING ON THE CABBAGE.
Ezra says, A SNAIL!
Amber says, A SNAIL!
Hamza says, A SNAIL. THEN WE SAW BEES IN A BEEHIVE.
Amber says, I SAW ONE SHAKE THEIR BUM.
Hamza says, DID YOU? AND WE'VE MADE IT TO THE COMPOSTER.
Hamza rakes compost.
Hamza says, RIGHT, LET'S FILL UP THESE BUCKETS, SHALL WE? WELL, I HOPE YOU ENJOYED OUR WALK TODAY. WE CERTAINLY DID. NEXT TIME YOU GO FOR A WALK WHY DON'T YOU KEEP YOUR EYES AND EARS OPEN, AND YOU CAN HAVE AN ADVENTURE TOO!
The Rambler wave and cry, BYE!!

They take buckets to the garden.

Amber says, DIAMONDS.
Hamza says, DIAMONDS.
Ezra says, IF YOU TURN IT ROUND, IT'S A SQUARE.
Hamza says, SHALL WE TURN OUR HEADS THEN AND SEE IF IT'S A SQUARE? AW YEAH! I CAN SEE THAT.

Ezra says, THE TREE IS GROWING OVER IT!

Hamza says, DO YOU THINK THE TREE THINKS THE FENCE TASTES NICE?
The children say, EURGH! YUCK.

A child says, THE TREE EATS THE FENCE FOR ITS DINNER. CHOMP CHOMP CHOMP.
Hamza says, WE FOLLOW THE FENCE TO FIND THE GATE INTO THE MEADOW. LOOK, WE FOUND THIS SIGN NEXT TO THE GATE.

Ezra says, A BUG.
Hamza asks, A BUG?
Samaya says, A BUG!
Hamza says, I DON'T THINK THAT'S A BUG.
Ezra asks, A DOG?
Hamza says, EXACTLY! THAT'S A DOG. IT SAYS, "BAG IT AND BIN IT" WHICH MEANS?
Amber says, PICK UP YOUR DOG POO!
Ezra says, AND PUT IT IN THE BIN.
Hamza says, THAT'S RIGHT. IT'S GOOD TO KEEP THE PARKS AND MEADOWS NICE AND CLEAN FOR EVERYONE TO ENJOY.
Hamza asks, WHAT COLOUR ARE THESE FLOWERS?
Samaya says, BLUE.
Hamza says, BLUE. WHAT ELSE?
Ezra says, RED AND PINK.
Hamza says, A PINK FLOWER. I WONDER HOW MANY PINK THINGS WE'LL SPOT ALONG THE WAY. KEEP YOUR EYES OPEN AND THEN AT THE END WE'LL SEE HOW MANY YOU NOTICED.

Hamza asks, WHAT HAVE YOU FOUND? PERFECT THIS IS A SENSORY GARDEN. A SENSORY GARDEN MEANS THESE PLANTS HAVE BEEN SPECIALLY GROWN SO THAT WE CAN SMELL AND TOUCH THEM. WHAT DOES THAT SMELL LIKE?
Ezra says, THIS ONE. MINT.
Hamza says, YEAH.
Amber says, SMELL THIS.
Hamza says, OOOH. THIS ONE'S CHIVES.
Samaya says, THIS IS MY FAVOURITE.
Hamza says, THIS ONE'S ROSEMARY. THESE HERBS ARE USED BY GROWNUPS TO MAKE COOKING EXTRA TASTY. I LOVE THE SMELL OF ROSEMARY. IN A SENSORY GARDEN YOU CAN TOUCH AND EVEN LISTEN TO THE SOUND THE PLANTS AND THE HERBS MAKE.
Hamza moves leaves.
Hamza asks, WHICH ONE'S LOUDER? THIS ONE? OR...
Samaya says, THAT ONE.

Hamza says, THAT'S HALF OF OUR WALK DONE. SO FAR, WE'VE SEEN SHAPES ON ONE FENCE AND A TREE EATING ANOTHER FENCE! THEN FOUND A BUSH FULL OF BUTTERFLIES AND IN THE SENSORY GARDEN WE SPOTTED A SNAIL MUNCHING ON SOME CABBAGE. WHAT ELSE WILL THE RAMBLERS SPOT TODAY?

Amber cries, APPLES!!!
Ezra says, MORE APPLES! LOADS AND LOADS OF APPLES!
Hamza says, THESE APPLES ARE DIFFERENT COLOURS. ON THIS SIDE.
Ezra says, IT'S RED.
Hamza says, AND ON THIS SIDE.
Ezra says, GREEN.
Hamza says, YEAH, WHY IS THAT?
Ezra says, BECAUSE IT NEARLY RIPE.
Hamza says, YEAH, SO IT'LL EVENTUALLY RIPEN UP. ALL APPLES START GREEN, BUT AS THEY RIPEN SOME TYPES TURN RED.
Samaya says, LET ME SEE.

Hamza says, THE BEES BRING BACK THE NECTAR TO THE HIVE. AND WHEN THEY DRY IT TURNS TO HONEY. WHAT DOES HONEY TASTE LIKE?
Ezra says, YUMMY!
Hamza asks, CAN YOU SEE THE SHAPE? WHAT DOES IT LOOK LIKE?
The children say, A HEXAGON!
Hamza says, YEAH! HEXAGON. THE BEEHIVE IS FULL OF HEXAGON SHAPES. CAN YOU SEE THEM IN THE HONEYCOMB? THEY'VE ALL GOT SIX SIDES.

Hamza asks, WHAT DID IT DO? EVERY TIME THEY SHAKE THEIR BOTTOM, THEY'RE TELLING ALL THE OTHER BEESWHERE THEY FOUND THE NECTAR.
Ezra wriggles.
Hamza says, THAT'S A GOOD ONE THAT'S A GOOD SHAKE EZRA.
Everyone shakes and hums.
(Buzzing)
They move over the meadow.
Hamza says, OH, I LIKE YOUR BEE. THAT'S A REALLY GOOD BEE.
(Music playing)
Hamza asks, AH WHAT'S THIS?
Amber says, DIRT.
Hamza says, DIRT?
Ezra says, COMPOST.
Hamza says, IT'S COMPOST. YEAH, THAT'S RIGHT.
Ezra says, I SEEN SOME SNAILS.
Hamza says, I THINK THEY'RE HAVING A RACE. DO YOU REMEMBER I BROUGHT THE LEFTOVERS FROM MY LUNCH?
Hamza takes out a paper bag full of vegetable scraps.
Hamza asks, CAN ANYONE TELL WHAT THIS IS?
Ezra says, POTATOES AND CARROTS.
Hamza says, YEAH, SHALL WE PUT SOME IN THE COMPOST? COME ON THEN.
Amber tosses scraps in the compost bin.
Hamza says, GO ON, ALL OF IT.
Samaya throws in scraps.
Hamza says, GO ON. YEAH, WELL DONE. DO YOU WANNA SEE WHAT THIS TURNS INTO?
The Ramblers cry, YEAH!
Hamza says, COME ON THEN LET'S GO. IT TURNS INTO COMPOST!
Hamza and the others go to a garden. Hamza lifts up a tarp.
Ezra says, WORMS!
Hamza says, YEAH!
Samaya cries, WORMS!
Hamza says, OH, I CAN SEE ONE RIGHT THERE. NOW DO YOU KNOW WHAT THESE WORMS DO?
Ezra says, TURN IT INTO COMPOST.
Hamza says, EXACTLY SO THESE WORMS EAT ALL THE VEGETABLE PEELINGS, AND THEY TURN IT INTO COMPOST, WHICH HELPS THE PLANTS GROW. RIGHT, DO YOU WANNA HELP ME PUT SOME OF THIS COMPOST ONTO THE PLANTS?
The Ramblers cry, YEAH!
They put on gardening gloves.
Hamza says, ALRIGHT. WE BETTER PUT OUR GLOVES ON THEN. THERE'S A BUCKET AND SPADE HERE. THERE'S A PINK ONE! THAT REMINDS ME, HOW MANY PINK THINGS DID YOU SPOT ALONG OUR WALK TODAY. DID YOU SPOT THESE ONES?
(Music playing)
A pink sign is on a post. Pink flowers are on a bush. More pink flowers are in a pot. A pink bucket is in the garden.
Hamza says, YEAH, DO YOU WANT YOUR BUCKET? AND ONE FOR YOU. NOW BEFORE WE START DIGGING CAN ANYONE REMEMBER WHAT WE SAW TODAY?
The animated map pops up.
Hamza says, IN THIS STREET WE SAW A FENCE THAT HAD SHAPES IN IT.
Amber says, DIAMONDS.
Hamza says, DIAMONDS.

Samaya says, BUTTERFLIES!
Hamza says, OUR NOSES LED US TO THE SENSORY GARDEN WHERE WE SPOTTED SOMETHING THAT HAD BEEN MUNCHING ON THE CABBAGE.
Ezra says, A SNAIL!
Amber says, A SNAIL!
Hamza says, A SNAIL. THEN WE SAW BEES IN A BEEHIVE.
Amber says, I SAW ONE SHAKE THEIR BUM.
Hamza says, DID YOU? AND WE'VE MADE IT TO THE COMPOSTER.
Hamza rakes compost.
Hamza says, RIGHT, LET'S FILL UP THESE BUCKETS, SHALL WE? WELL, I HOPE YOU ENJOYED OUR WALK TODAY. WE CERTAINLY DID. NEXT TIME YOU GO FOR A WALK WHY DON'T YOU KEEP YOUR EYES AND EARS OPEN, AND YOU CAN HAVE AN ADVENTURE TOO!
The Rambler wave and cry, BYE!!
