An animated sun shines brightly as a plane flies through the sky. An owl sits on a tree branch beside host Mandisa, who waves. Mandisa has black hair held back by a headband and wears denim overalls over a peach t-shirt.
An animated ladybug lands on a flower beside Mandisa. A bus drives down a street as Mandisa walks down a path. Mandisa wears a fox hand puppet crafted out of a paper bag and holds a cardboard robot. Mandisa smiles.
A title reads, Curious Crafting.
Mandisa sits at a table in a playroom wearing denim overalls over a brown shirt.
She asks, WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK OF
SHARKS?
ARE THEY FRIENDLY?
Mandisa sits with two children who are both wearing green. One child has long black hair, the other child has short black hair.
Both children say, NO.
The short haired child says, NO.
The child shakes their head.
Mandisa says, WELL, I HAVE A FRIENDLY
SHARK HERE
AND THIS SHARK CAN ROCK LIKE
IT'S SWIMMING IN THE OCEAN.
Mandisa shares a folded paper plate shark craft.
She asks, DO YOU WANT TO TRY?
The children play with the shark craft. It rocks on the table. The short haired child laughs.
The long haired child asks, CAN I MAKE A
ROCKING SHARK?
Mandisa says, ABSOLUTELY.
LET'S GO GET OUR CRAFT SUPPLIES.
(Cheerful music plays)
Mandisa and the children leave the table. The children collect craft supplies.
Mandisa narrates, WE'RE GOING TO NEED
SOME LIGHT BLUE PAINT,
POM POMS AND CLOTHESPINS,
WHITE SHARK TEETH,
DARK BLUE PAINT, GOOGLY EYES,
BLUE SHARK FINS.
AND DON'T FORGET A PAPER PLATE.
Mandisa sits at the table with the children and their craft supplies.
Mandisa says, FIRST, CAN YOU FOLD YOUR PAPER
PLATE IN HALF FOR ME?
FOLD IT RIGHT IN HALF.
The children fold their paper plates in half.
Mandisa says, AND WE'RE GOING TO PAINT THE TOP
OF THAT SIDE DARK BLUE
AND PAINT THE BELLY OF YOUR
SHARK LIGHT BLUE.
THIS IS JUST A CLOTHES PEG WITH
A POM POM,
AND WE CAN DIP IT INTO THE PAINT
AND THEN DAB DAB DAB ONTO
OUR SHARK.
The children paint one side of their folded paper plate with a pom pom held by a clothes peg. Mandisa helps the short haired child paint with the dark blue paint. The long haired child paints with light blue paint.
Mandisa says, GOOD.
DAB, DAB, DAB.
GOOD.
The short haired child says, I DID ALL THESE.
The long haired child says, I DID THE BOTTOM
OF IT.
Mandisa says, GOOD JOB.
YOU CAN SWITCH.
GEORGIA IS GOING TO DO THE
DARK BLUE
AND YOU CAN DO THE LIGHT BLUE.
Mandisa swaps out the children’s paint colours.
The short haired child says, PUT SOME PAINT
LIKE THIS.
IT'S COMING OFF.
Mandisa says, GOOD.
DAB, DAB, DAB.
The short haired child says, YOU CAN DAB
REALLY HARD,
SO IT CAN BE A
RAINBOW.
Mandisa helps hold the paper plate in place for the short haired child.
Mandisa says, BIG DABS.
Georgia, the long haired child, continues painting with the dark blue paint.
Mandisa says, OK, GOOD JOB, ARJAY.
Mandisa takes the paint off the table.
She says, NOW WE'RE GOING TO LET OUR
SHARKS DRY.
Mandisa holds her completed shark craft. Georgia and Arjay, the short haired child, hold their dried, painted paper plates.
Mandisa asks, WHAT SHOULD WE ADD TO OUR
SHARKS FIRST?
Arjay says, A TAIL!
Arjay points to the tail on Mandisa’s shark.
Mandisa says, AND THERE'S A TAIL FOR GEORGIA.
Mandisa passes a blue shark fin cut out to Georgia.
Mandisa says, SO I HAVE MY BIG FIN ON TOP, AND
THE LITTLE FIN ON THE SIDE.
Mandisa points to the fins on her shark.
She says, SO YOU WANT TO GLUE THE LITTLE
FIN FIRST?
Georgia says, YES.
Mandisa says, OK, SO PUT SOME GLUE ON THE BACK
OF YOUR LITTLE FIN.
Georgia grabs a bottle of glue.
Arjay asks, AND WHERE?
RIGHT HERE?
Mandisa says, OK, SO YOUR TAIL, YOUR TAIL GOES
RIGHT...
Arjay places his tail fin cut out on his paper plate.
Mandisa says, …YEAH!
Georgia glues a shark fin onto her paper plate.
Arjay says, MY TAIL IS DONE.
Mandisa says, GOOD JOB, GEORGIA.
IT'S TIME TO ADD SOME...
Arjay says, …EYES!
Mandisa says, THAT'S RIGHT.
I'VE GOT SOME GOOGLY
EYES HERE.
DO YOU WANT TO CHOOSE
TWO GOOGLY EYES?
Arjay picks two googly eyes from a small bowl.
Arjay says, TWO, BABY SHARK.
Mandisa says, SO YOU'RE GOING TO DRAW A SMILE
ON YOUR SHARK.
Mandisa passes a black marker to Georgia.
Mandisa asks, CAN YOU DRAW A BIG SMILE ON YOUR
SHARK ARJAY?

Georgia and Arjay draw smiles on their sharks.
Mandisa says, THAT'S A HUGE SMILE!
Mandisa laughs.
