An airplane flies past the smiling sun. An owl wears a red, yellow, and black sweater. Mandisa Watts, a dark-haired woman, waves as she stands under a tree in a park. She wears a peach-coloured shirt under her blue denim overalls. A floral patterned scarf is tied around her head and pink earrings dandle to her shoulders.
A ladybug lands on a purple flower in front of Mandisa. A school bus travels down a road while a green dinosaur climbs on a bench and a penguin dances in a field.
A puppet fox and a cardboard robot jump into Mandisa’s hands while a giraffe leaps out from behind a bush.
The title reads, “Curious Crafting”.
Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple crayons streak across the screen.
Mandisa holds a red fox puppet on her hand as she sits at a green table in a colourful craft room. Behind her, a purple wall features a pink flamingo with a very long neck. Crafts, markers, and crafting tools are displayed on shelves on the other walls.
Collette, a girl with long dark hair waves her hands in the air. She wears a dark blue sweater. On Mandisa’s right side, a boy with short dark hair makes howling noises. He wears a blue and green short-sleeved shirt.
Mandisa asks,
DO YOU KNOW WHAT ANIMAL I AM?
Collette says, A FOX!
The boy with short dark hair says, A FOX.
Mandisa replies,
THAT'S RIGHT.
WOULD YOU LIKE TO MAKE SOME
FRIENDS FOR ME?
Collette says, YEAH!
The boy with short dark hair replies,
YEAH.
Mandisa says,
OK, LET'S GO GET OUR CRAFT
SUPPLIES.
Collette and the boy with short dark hair collect crafting supplies as they run around the room. They rush back to the table.
Mandisa says,
WE'RE GOING TO NEED WHITE CHALK,
BLACK POM POMS, BROWN PAPER BAG.
ORANGE, WHITE, AND BLACK
CONSTRUCTION PAPER.
ORANGE TISSUE PAPER AND GLUE.
WE'RE GOING TO MAKE OUR BODY
OUT OF A PAPER BAG.
FIRST THINGS FIRST,
WE'RE GOING TO MAKE THE MOUTH.
AND WE'RE GOING TO FOLD IN THE
PAPER BAG,
THE CORNERS RIGHT HERE.
SO WE'RE GOING TO FOLD THAT
CORNER, RIGHT?
SO ADD A LITTLE BIT OF GLUE
RIGHT HERE.
The kids glue the bottoms of their brown paper bags.
Mandisa says,
AND THEN WE'RE GOING TO STICK
THAT MOUTH DOWN.
AND THAT IS OUR FOX'S MOUTH.
WE ARE GOING TO COLOUR
OUR FOX'S CHEEKS
WITH OUR CHALK AND OUR
FOX'S BELLY.
I WILL DO RIGHT
HERE FIRST.
YOU WANT TO THE BELLY
FIRST, OK?
COLOUR IN HIS BELLY.
GOOD JOB.
The boy with short dark hair colours the bottom of the paper bag with white chalk.
Mandisa says,
THAT'S A NICE, NICE WHITE BELLY.
Collette says,
I LIKE DRAWING THE FOX.
Mandisa replies,
NOW WE'RE GOING TO GIVE
OUR FOXES SOME FUR.
Collette shouts, YEAH!
Mandisa places a bowl of orange tissue paper on the table.
She says,
HERE IS THE FUR.
WE'RE GOING TO USE TISSUE PAPER.
NOW YOU'RE GOING TO TAKE YOUR
TISSUE PAPER
AND GLUE IT ALL OVER YOUR FOX
EXCEPT FOR THEIR TUMMY AND
THEIR CHEEKS.
SO IN THE MIDDLE THERE
THAT BE GOOD.
The boy with short dark hair asks,
RIGHT HERE?
Mandisa replies, GOOD.
Collette presses down on the tissue paper.
She says, STICK!
Mandisa says,
STICK, GOOD.
HUGO, WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO CALL
YOUR FOX?
Hugo, the boy with short dark hair, answers,
ROVY.
Mandisa replies,
ROVY.
THAT'S A GREAT NAME.
Collette says,
I'M GOING TO NAME MY FOX
ICE CREAM.
Mandisa asks,
DO YOU WANT ME TO HELP YOU GLUE,
OR YOU GOT IT.
ARE YOU READY TO PUT SOME
EYES ON YOUR FOX?
Hugo answers, OH, YES!
Collette says,
OK.
I HAVE ONE EYE.
Collette holds up a large paper eye.
(Laughs)
Mandisa points to Hugo’s fox.
She says,
ONE EYE HERE AND ONE
EYE RIGHT THERE.
Collette and Hugo continue to make their foxes.
Mandisa says,
NOW WE'RE GOING TO PUT
ON THE TAIL
AND LEGS AND EARS OF OUR FOX.
GRAB A TAIL COLLETTE.
Collette says, YEAH.
She pulls a paper fox tail out of a pink bowl.
Mandisa says,
AND YOU GRAB A TAIL HUGO AND
THEN GRAB FOUR LEGS.
SO WE'RE GOING TO TURN OUR
FOXES OVER.
AND WE'RE GOING TO GLUE
THEIR EARS
RIGHT ON THE BACK.
GOOD JOB.
GLUE AND PUT SOME
GLUE RIGHT THERE.
GOOD, WE'RE GOING TO PUT OUR
LEGS ON
SO THEY CAN RUN REALLY FAST.
Collette says,
AND THE TAIL.
She glues the back of her fox and sticks on the tail.
Mandisa replies,
TAIL, THAT'S RIGHT.
A green crayon makes a check mark.
Collette says,
I HAVE THE TAIL
ALL READY.
Mandisa says, YOU DO.
(Chime)
Hugo sticks the tail on his fox.
Mandisa says,
THE FINAL THING WE'RE
GOING TO GIVE
OUR FOXES A NOSE.
She points to her nose.
(Laughs)
Mandisa says,
GRAB ONE POM POM AND MAKE,
OH, THAT'S A GREAT IDEA.
Hugo and Collette glue noses on their fox puppets. They put their hands in their foxes.
Hugo says, AND I CAN RAISE IT.
Collette says,
LOOK AT THIS IT'S
ALL DONE.
Hugo says, HELLO.
Mandisa says, HELLO.
Hugo replies, OH MY.
Mandisa asks,
