Transcript: Annie Goes for Broke
Felix wears a blue hoodie over a striped shirt. He stands in front of a building where text reads, tvokids presents.
Felix asks, IS THERE A DOCTOR
IN THE HOUSE?
In a window of the building is Annie in a pink dress.
Annie says, YES AND HE'S A MOUSE.
In a window above Annie, Dr. Cheddar wears a stethoscope. He waves.
A narrator says, YOU’LL FEEL BETTER WITH DR. CHEDDAR.
Text on the building reads, Dr. Cheddar.
[Bright music plays]
In his office, Dr. Cheddar stands at his desk. He hammers a Jack-in-the-box toy.
He says, THERE. WELL, LET'S
SEE IF THAT DID IT.
Dr. Cheddar puts down his hammer. He turns the crank on the side of the box.
[Pop Goes The Weasel melody plays]
Dr. Cheddar tilts his head back and forth to the tune. The box remains closed.
[Dr. Cheddar sighing]
Dr. Cheddar says, I GUESS NOT.
[Dr. Cheddar sighing]
[Ringing]
Dr. Cheddar says, OH!
He looks at the tablet on his desk.
He says, HMM.
Dr. Cheddar answers a call.
He says, DR. CHEDDAR HERE TO
HELP YOU FEEL BETTER.
In a video call, Annie says, DR. CHEDDAR, EMERGENCY!
She holds a blue toy plane.
Dr. Cheddar says, OH, DEAR. WHAT SEEMS
TO BE THE PROBLEM, ANNIE?
Annie says, IT'S FELIX'S TOY
PLANE. I, I, I...
She looks away from Dr. Cheddar.
Dr. Cheddar asks, YOU WHAT?
Annie says sadly, I BROKE IT.
She shows the broken plane wing.
[Dr. Cheddar gasping]
Annie says, I WAS JUST ZOOMING AROUND
WHEN I BUMPED INTO THE WALL
AND CRACK, IT BROKE.
A flashback shows Annie playing with the plane. The wing hits a wall and breaks.
Dr. Cheddar says, BUT ANNIE, IT SOUNDS LIKE
IT WAS JUST AN ACCIDENT.
Annie says, OH, IT WAS AN ACCIDENT,
BUT IT'S FELIX'S FAVORITE
AND HE ALWAYS PLAYS WITH
IT AS SOON AS HE GETS HOME.
OH.
She looks sad.
[Door closing]
Felix calls, I'M HOME!
[Annie gasping]
Annie says, OH NO!
WHAT AM I GONNA DO? IT'S FELIX!
Dr. Cheddar says, NOW, STAY CALM,
ANNIE. ACCIDENTS HAPPEN.
I'M SURE THAT FELIX
WILL UNDERSTAND.
Annie nods.
She says, RIGHT! I NEED TO HIDE IT!
Dr. Cheddar says, YOU NEED TO TELL HIM.
Annie runs away from her computer. She hurries to a couch. She looks around frantically.
[Annie panting nervously]
Annie hides the plane under a pillow on the couch.
[Mischievous music plays]
[Dr. Cheddar groaning]
He covers his eyes. Felix joins Annie.
[Annie gasping nervously]
Felix says, HEY, ANNIE. WHATCHA DOING?
Annie says, I WAS, UM...UH.
I WAS, I WAS, UH...
Dr. Cheddar says, WHAT ANNIE IS
TRYING TO SAY IS...
Annie interrupts and says, I WAS JUST FLUFFING
UP THESE CUSHIONS.
Felix says, COOL. I'LL HELP.
He turns to the couch.
[Felix gasping]
The tail of the broken plane sticks out from under the pillow.
[Felix gasping]
Felix holds the plane pieces.
He says, WHAT? WHAT?
MY PLANE.
Felix looks sad. He turns and looks at Annie.
Felix asks, WHAT HAPPENED TO IT?
Annie says, GEE, THAT'S WEIRD.
[Annie laughing nervously]
Annie says, MUST HAVE JUST FLOWN
IN THERE BY ITSELF.
Dr. Cheddar says, DON'T YOU HAVE SOMETHING
YOU'D LIKE TO TELL FELIX?
Annie looks down.
She says, THE TRUTH IS,
I WAS PLAYING WITH YOUR
PLANE AND I KIND OF BROKE IT.
Felix says, BUT IT WAS MY FAVORITE.
Annie says, IT WAS AN ACCIDENT. HONEST.
I'M REALLY SORRY, FELIX.
Dr. Cheddar says, MM-HMM.
He gives a thumbs up.
Felix says, WELL, I'M JUST HAPPY
THAT YOU TOLD ME.
Annie says, YOU'RE, YOU'RE NOT MAD.
Felix says, I'M SAD, BUT
ACCIDENTS DO HAPPEN.
HEY, DO YOU WANNA TRY
TAPING IT BACK TOGETHER?
Annie says, YEAH, LET'S GO!
She looks at the computer.
She says, THANKS, DR. CHEDDAR.
[Annie humming happily]
[Dr. Cheddar chuckling]
Dr. Cheddar says, OH, ANYTIME.
GOOD LUCK YOU TWO.
He waves and ends the video call.
[Soft, cheerful music plays]
Outside, tape holds the pieces of Felix’s broken plane together. Felix and Annie nod. Felix runs with the plane. It glides through the air.
[Airplane whooshing]
In his office, Dr. Cheddar says, THIS IS DR. CHEDDAR
HOPING YOU FEEL BETTER
ABOUT OWNING UP
TO YOUR MISTAKES.
GOODBYE NOW.
[Dr. Cheddar chuckling]
A toy jester pops out of the Jack-in-the-box.
[Dr. Cheddar yelping]
Dr. Cheddar jumps back from the toy.
(Soft music plays)
Felix, Dr. Cheddar and Annie watch fireworks go off in the sky at night.
They say, WOAH!
Dr. Cheddar says, WOW, LOVELY.
