A narrator says, THE COSMIC PICNIC.
Pears fall on grass. Little Malabar picks them up and puts them in a picnic basket. He has blonde hair and wears a white shirt with a sun on it.
Little Malabar says, HM, SOME NICE RIPE PEARS! SOME CRUNCHY HAZELNUTS!
Little Malabar picks hazelnuts off a tree. A red squirrel is on a branch.
(Chirping)
Little Malabar says, HI THERE, SQUIRREL! LOOK HERE, I'VE GATHERED LOTS OF GOOD THINGS FOR US EAT! WILL YOU COME ON A PICNIC WITH ME?
(Chirping)
Little Malabar says, WHERE? IN OUTER SPACE, OF COURSE!
(Chirping excitedly)
The squirrel jumps in the basket.
Little Malabar says, LET'S GO!
(Music playing)
Little Malabar jumps and lands on the Moon. He looks at the planets in the solar system.
Little Malabar says, LET'S SEE NOW... SHALL WE HAVE A PICNIC ON... MERCURY? AH, NO, TOO SMALL. ON BEAUTIFUL VENUS? NO, IT'S TOO HOT UNDER ITS CLOUDS, AND IT DOESN'T SMELL VERY GOOD EITHER. ON MARS? NO, IT'S MUCH TOO DUSTY THERE. LET'S LOOK FURTHER.
Little Malabar looks through a telescope.
Little Malabar says, TOO MANY STORMS ON JUPITER. NEPTUNE! OH, IT'S REALLY TOO COLD THERE! I THINK THAT THE EARTH IS THE ONLY COMFORTABLE PLACE FOR A PICNIC.
(Chuckles)
The Sun says, YOU SHOULD LOOK A LITTLE BIT FURTHER. WHAT IS IT THAT YOU SEE ALL AROUND YOU IN THE SKY?
Little Malabar says, WELL, STARS. LOTS OF STARS! LIKE YOU, SUN!
The Sun says, YES! BUT TAKE A LITTLE BETTER LOOK.
Little Malabar looks through the telescope.
Little Malabar says, OH, I SEE LITTLE SPOTS PASSING IN FRONT OF THE STARS! TAKE A LOOK, SQUIRREL! BUT WHAT ARE THEY, SUN?
The Sun says, PERHAPS COMFORTABLE PLACES TO HAVE A PICNIC?
(Laughs)
Little Malabar says, DID YOU HEAR THAT, SQUIRREL? COME ON, LET'S GO! WOOHOO!
Little Malabar picks up the basket and jumps off the Moon.
The Sun says, BON VOYAGE!
Little Malabar rides the picnic basket out of the solar system.
Little Malabar says, WOW! JUST LOOK, SQUIRREL!
(Chirping)
Little Malabar says, THOSE LITTLE SPOTS ARE ACTUALLY PLANETS!
A star says, THAT'S RIGHT! IN OUTER SPACE, ALMOST ALL OF THE STARS HAVE PLANETS! THEY'RE CALLED EXOPLANETS. I HAVE A BIG ONE VERY CLOSE TO ME!
(Laughs)
Little Malabar says, IT LOOKS LIKE JUPITER, BUT BIGGER!
A second star calls, SO DO WE! WE ALSO HAVE PLANETS!
A red sun says, LOTS OF THEM EVEN!
The second star says, I HAVE THREE!
The red sun says, I HAVE SEVEN!
Little Malabar says, WE'RE LOOKING FOR AN EXOPLANET COMFORTABLE ENOUGH TO PICNIC ON! LET'S GO SEE THAT ONE! PHEW!
Little Malabar flies closer to the planet.
Little Malabar says, IT'S TOO HOT AND IT'S TOO WINDY! WHOA!
(Giggling)
Little Malabar flies to another solar system. He lands on an icy planet.
Little Malabar says, WHOA!
(Giggling)
He slides over the ice.
Little Malabar says, IT'S REALLY COLD HERE!
(Shivering)
Little Malabar says, TOO COLD!
Little Malabar flies toward the red sun. He lands on a planet filled with volcanos.
Little Malabar says, WOOHOO! BOY, OH, BOY, THIS EXOPLANET IS BOILING! IT'S WAY TOO CLOSE TO ITS STAR. YUCK, TOO MUCH SMOKE ON THIS ONE! IT'S STIFLING HERE AS WELL! THERE IS ONLY JUST WATER HERE! IT REALLY ISN'T EASY FINDING THE PERFECT SPOT FOR OUR PICNIC.
Little Malabar hops from planet to planet.
A planet says, THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF US EXOPLANETS IN THE GALAXY. ONE OF THEM IS RIGHT FOR YOU, THAT'S FOR SURE!
Little Malabar rides the basket further out.
Little Malabar says, HELLO, MILKY WAY ! DO YOU HAVE IN YOUR ARMS AN EXOPLANET PERFECT FOR PICNICKING?
The Milky Way says, OF COURSE! HAVE A LOOK AROUND THAT LITTLE RED STAR! THERE IS ONE PERFECT FOR THAT!
Little Malabar lands next to a river.
Little Malabar says, AHH, HERE IT'S JUST THE RIGHT TEMPERATURE! WE'LL FINALLY BE ABLE TO PICNIC!
Little Malabar opens the picnic basket.
Little Malabar says, OH! THERE'S NOTHING LEFT TO EAT!
(Chirping softly)
The squirrel hides behind its tail.
Little Malabar asks, YOU SNACKED ON EVERYTHING DURING OUR VOYAGE?
(Laughs)
Little Malabar says, AH, CUTIE PIE! WE'LL JUST GO BACK TO PLANET EARTH TO GET US SOME MORE FOOD!
(Chirping)
Little Malabar flies back to Earth. Pears fall from a tree.
Little Malabar says, SOME NICE RIPE PEARS, AND LOTS OF CRUNCHY HAZELNUTS! GOOD JOB, SQUIRREL! WE'RE ALL READY FOR OUR NEXT PICNIC ON AN EXOPLANET!
(Chirping)
A narrator says, LIKE THE SUN, MOST OF THE STARS HAVE PLANETS THAT ORBIT AROUND THEM. THEY ARE CALLED EXOPLANETS THAT CAN BE BIG, LITTLE, VERY HOT, VERY COLD, OR WARM LIKE PLANET EARTH!
