The Mixmups: Pockets, Spin and Giggle, pose beneath the text. Pockets is a blue bear with red pockets. She wears triangular red eyeglasses with a yellow star on each side. Spin is a red rabbit with a yellow lollipop-like antenna poking out beneath each of his ears. Giggle, who uses a wheelchair, is a yellow and light orange-striped cat. She holds Roller Guinea, a roller skate-wearing guinea pig, on her lap. Yellow, red and orange confetti explodes in the air.

[Chiming, cheerful music continues]

The singers sing, MIX UP THE MAGIC, ONE, TWO, THREE!

The Mixmups gather around the mixing box in front of their house. Lucky Loover Bird stands beside a swing on a hilltop. Magical sparkles leave their trunk and flow towards the Mixmups. Roller Guinea and Yapette, Pocket’s guide dog, stand with them.

The singers sing, MIX IT, TWIRL IT, WHIRL IT, HEY! TIME FOR SOME MAGIC, ADVENTURE AND PLAY. MIXMUPS, MIXMUPS, HEY, HEY, HEY! MIXMUPS, HERE COME THE MIXMUPS. MIXMUPS, MIX, MIX, THE MIXMUPS. MIXMUPS, HERE COME THE MIXMUPS. MIX UP THE MAGIC, MIX UP THE MAGIC. MIX UP THE MAGIC WITH THE MIXMUPS.

Lucky Loover Bird narrates, IN MIXINGTON VALLEY, THE MIXMUPS PLAY. WHAT KIND OF ADVENTURE WILL THEY MIX UP TODAY?

Text reads, “The Wide Awake Moon.” Smaller text reads, “Story by Rebecca Atkinson. Script by Deborah Macdonald.”

Light glows brightly through the windows of the Mixmups’ house. Spin runs to the elevator and rides it to the second floor. He steps onto a small bridge between the elevator and the house and gazes at the crescent moon.

[Spin panting, boinging, elevator doors rumbling, dinging, slide whistle, cranking, bright music plays]

Spin says, HI, MOON! I'M NOT TIRED. I AM WIDE AWAKE.

Spin walks into the house and stops.

[Door clicking, gentle music plays]

Spin says, OH!

Giggle and Pockets slide out of the sides of a duvet shaped like a tent.

[Pockets and Giggle giggling]

Pockets and Giggle say, HI, SPIN!

Spin says, HEY-OH. WHAT'S GOING ON?

Pockets says, WE'RE PLAYING CAMPING.

[Duvet rustling]

Spin says, I WANT TO PLAY CAMPING TOO! WOO-HOO!

Spin dives into the duvet tent.

[Boinging]

Spin says, I AH, THIS IS GREAT!

Roller Guinea lies down beside Giggle.

[Roller skates rattling, whining]

Giggle says, DON'T GO TO SLEEP YET, ROLLER GUINEA.

Giggle pets Roller Guinea.

[Giggle giggling, gentle music plays]

Spin says, YEAH! IT'S NOT BEDTIME. I'M WIDE AWAKE. JUST LIKE THE MOON.

Pockets says, ME TOO.

[Giggle sighing]

Giggle says, I WONDER HOW LONG THE MOON STAYS AWAKE.

[Owl hooting]

Spin says, NOT MORE THAN ME. I CAN EASILY STAY UP MORE THAN THE MOON.

Giggle says, ME TOO! I THINK.

Spin says, LET'S MIX UP A STAY-AWAKE CAMPING ADVENTURE! AND STAY UP MORE THAN THE MOON.

Pockets says, AND THEN WE'LL ALL BE WIDE AWAKE WINNERS!

[Cheering]

Lucky Loover Bird says, OH? TIME TO PLAY.

[Gentle music plays]

Lucky Loover Bird hops off their swing and opens a door in the tree trunk, revealing a green and yellow touque with a yellow pom-pom on top.

[Creaking]

In the bedroom, Pockets puts the duvet in the mixing box, and Spin adds pillows.

Pockets says, DUVET.

Spin says, PILLOWS.

[Rustling]

Giggle says, OH! SOME CAMPING NIGHTTIME NOISES.

[Everyone imitates hooting owls]

Pockets asks, WHAT ELSE DO WE NEED?

Outside, Lucky Loover Bird blows sparkles towards the Mixmups.

[Gentle music plays, sparkles chiming]

The Mixmups cheer, MAGIC SPARKLES!

[Rock music plays]

Spin uses the wooden spoon to stir inside the mixing box.

The Mixmups sing, MIX UP THE MAGIC, ONE, TWO, THREE. MIX UP THE MAGIC, WHOO-HOO, YIPPEE! MIX IT, TWIRL IT, WHIRL IT, HEY! TIME FOR SOME MAGIC, ADVENTURE AND PLAY. MIXMUPS, MIXMUPS, YEAH!

The Mixmups and the wooden spoon drop into the box. The box shrinks and disappears.

[Chiming, thunking]

The mixing box reappears in an empty white space, and the Mix-Ups and wooden spoon fly out. Spin catches the spoon. The box unfolds, and tents are scattered across a campsite.

The Mixmups sing, MIXMUPS, MIXMUPS, MIXMUPS, MIX UP THE MAGIC, ONE, TWO, THREE. YEAH.

The Mixmups say, WOW!

[Owl hooting, insects chirping]

Pockets says, WE'RE ON A CAMPSITE.

In the sky, the crescent moon smiles down at the Mixmups.

Spin says, LOOK AT THE WIDE-AWAKE MOON.

Lucky Loover Bird says, COOEY! ONLY ME!

Lucky Loover Bird hops away from a tent in a sleeping bag and trips. They wear the green and yellow toque.

[Boinging, Mixmups laughing, gentle music plays]

Spin asks, UM, WHO ARE YOU?

Lucky Loover Bird stands up in the sleeping bag.

Lucky Loover Bird replies, TODAY, I'M A CAMP LEADER. WELCOME TO MY CAMPSITE WHERE YOU CAN SLEEP UNDER THE NIGHT SKY.

[Birds chirping]

Spin says, WE'RE NOT GOING TO SLEEP.

Pockets says, YEAH! WE NEED TO STAY AWAKE MORE THAN THE MOON.

Lucky Loover Bird says, STAY AWAKE MORE THAN THE MOON? YOU'LL BE REALLY TIRED.

Spin says, I'M NOT TIRED. I'M WIDE AWAKE.

[Lucky Loover Bird yawning]

Lucky Loover Bird says, WELL, I'M POOPED. TIME FOR BED. NIGHT, NIGHT.

Lucky Loover Bird hops back into their tent.

[Boinging]

The Mixmups say, NIGHT, NIGHT!

[Spin yawning, Giggle giggling]

Giggle says, STAY AWAKE, SPIN.

[Giggle giggling]

Later, the Mixmups lie on their backs, their heads on pillows beneath the sky and their legs in their tents.

[Soothing music plays]

Spin says, WOW! LOOK AT THE STARS.

Pockets says, I CAN'T SEE THE STARS. THE STARS ARE TOO SMALL AND FAR AWAY FOR ME.

Giggle says, I CAN TELL YOU WANT THEY LOOK LIKE! THE SKY IS LIKE A SHEET OF DARK BLUE CARDBOARD, AND SOMEONE HAS SPILLED GLITTER ALL OVER IT.

[Spin giggling]

Spin says, AND IT WASN'T ME THIS TIME!

[Everyone giggling]

Two wingles land on a tree branch.

[Wingle mumbling, rustling, Roller Guinea snoring]

Giggle sings, TWINKLY STARS UP IN THE SKY. TWINKLY, WINKLY UP SO HIGH.

Pockets says, GIGGLE, YOUR SONG IS MAKING ME SLEEPY.

[Spin yawing]

Spin says, ME TOO.

[Yapette and Roller Guinea snoring]

Giggle says, STAY AWAKE! STAY AWAKE!

[Yawning]

Giggle says sleepily, STAY AWAKE.

Spin says, I KNOW! LET'S HOLD OUR EYES OPEN LIKE THIS.

The Mixmups hold their eyes open wide.

[Owl hooting, upbeat music plays]

Mixmups say, WHOA!

Spin says, IT'S NOT WORKING.

[Yawning]

Spin says, I'M STILL FEELING SLEEPY.

Pockets says, I KNOW. I'LL TELL YOU A STAY-AWAKE STORY.

[Spin yawing]

Spin says, GOOD IDEA.

[Gentle music plays]

Pockets says, ONCE UPON A TIME, THERE WERE THREE FRIENDS WHO WANTED TO STAY AWAKE MORE THAN THE MOON.

[Pockets yawning]

Pockets continues, THEY ALL WENT CAMPING AND--

The Mixmups fall asleep.

[Snoring, moon yawning]

The flap of Lucky Loover Bird’s tent waves, and the Mixmups awaken.

[Loud snorting, Mixmups gasping, dramatic music plays]

Pockets asks, WHAT WAS THAT?

[Loud snorting and snoring, Mixmups giggling]

Pockets says, IT'S JUST THE CAMP LEADER SNORING.

[Spin yawning, cheerful music plays]

Spin asks, WHY IS THE MOON STILL AWAKE?

Pockets says, WE CAN'T GO TO SLEEP UNTIL THE MOON HAS.

Giggle says, WE HAVE TO STAY AWAKE MORE. I WANT TO BE A WIDE-AWAKE WINNER.

[Giggle yawning]

Spin says, ME TOO! BUT WHEN WILL THE MOON GO TO SLEEP?

Lucky Loover Bird opens her tent flaps, and steps outside.

[Lucky Loover Bird snorting, rustling]

Lucky Loover Bird says, OH! YOU LOOK REALLY TIRED. IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE YOU COULD DO TO TRY AND STAY AWAKE MORE THAN THE MOON?

The Mixmups say, HMM.

A flashback bubble shows Giggle singing, the Mixmups holding open their eyes, and Pockets telling the story.

[Popping, birds singing, insects chirping, gentle music plays]

Giggle says, I SANG A STARRY SONG, BUT THAT JUST MADE US ALL SLEEPY.

Spin says, AND WE TRIED HOLDING OUR EYES OPEN, BUT WE STILL ALL GOT SLEEPY.

Pockets says, AND I TOLD A STAY-AWAKE STORY AND THAT MADE US EVEN MORE SLEEPY.

Spin says, WE JUST CAN'T ALL STAY AWAKE.

Pockets says, HMM. MAYBE WE DON'T HAVE TO.

Spin and Giggle say, HUH?

Pockets says, MAYBE WE CAN TAKE IT IN TURNS TO STAY AWAKE WHILE THE OTHER TWO SLEEP.

Spin says, THAT'S A GREAT IDEA.

[Yawning]

Spin says, I'LL GO FIRST.

Spin slides to the ground and sleeps.

[Slide whistle, snoring]

Pockets says, AW, SPIN. OKAY, I'LL GO FIRST, THEN.

The moon says, HMMM.

Later, Spin and Giggle sleep beneath the stars. Pockets leans against the tent and reads a book. Yapette sits beside her.

Pockets reads, ONCE UPON A TIME, THERE WERE THREE...

Pockets falls asleep. Yapette licks her face and wakes her up.

[Snoring, slurping, gasping, giggling, Yapette whining, gentle music plays]

Pockets pats Yapette.

Pockets says, WELL DONE, YAPETTE. AW, STILL AWAKE.

The moon says, HMM.

Later, Spin, Pockets, and Yapette sleep. Giggle and Roller Guinea sit together.

[Giggle humming sleepily, gentle music continues]

Giggle falls asleep.

[Spin flatulates]

Giggle says, OOH!

[Laughing]

Giggle says, EXCUSE YOU, SPIN!

Giggle looks up at the moon.

[Giggle sighing]

Giggle says, STILL AWAKE.

The moon says, HMM.

Later, Spin runs back and forth while everyone else sleeps.

[Boinging, panting, gentle music plays]

Spin says, I NEED TO STAY AWAKE.

Spin sits down.

[Spin sighing, moon yawning]

Spin says, HUH?

The moon shuts their eyes.

[Moon yawning, Spin gasping]

Spin whispers, POCKETS! GIGGLE! QUICK! WAKE UP!

[Pockets yawning, Yapette whining, skates rattling, rustling]

Pockets asks, WHAT IS IT?

Spin replies, LOOK! THE MOON! IT'S FINALLY GOING TO SLEEP.

The sun rises high in the sky.

[Moon snoring, slide whistle, cheering, Yapette whining]

Giggle says, WE DID IT! BY TAKING IT IN TURNS, WE STAYED AWAKE LONGER THAN THE MOON.

[Birds chirping]

Spin says, YEAH, WE'RE WIDE-AWAKE WINNERS.

Lucky Loover Bird leaves their tent.

Lucky Loover Bird says, LOOK! AS I SAY, THERE'S ALWAYS ANOTHER WAY.

Spin picks up the wooden spoon.

Spin says, HOME TIME!

The trees and tents disappear as the mixing box folds back into a box.

[Chiming, upbeat music plays, whoosh, flapping]

Lucky Loover Bird waves to the Mixmups. Sparkles lift them and carry them back into the mixing box.

Lucky Loover Bird says, TOODLE-LOO!

[Upbeat music plays]

The magical mixing box reappears in the bedroom. The Mixmups lift out of the box and land on their beds, covered with duvets.

[Cheering]

The wooden spoon flies out of the box, and Spin catches it.

[Spin gasping, gentle music plays]

Spin says, HOT CHOCOLATE!

The Mixmups pick mugs of hot chocolate up off their bedside tables.

Giggle says, WOW!

[Slurping]

Spin says, MMM.

[Slurping]

Giggle says, DELICIOUS!

[Slurping]

Pockets says, AH!

[Yawning]

Spin says, I WONDER WHO LEFT THESE HERE.

Spin puts the mug back on the table, and the Mixmups quickly fall asleep.


[Clattering, snoring, gentle music continues]

Outside, Lucky Loover Bird puts the toque back in the tree trunk and shuts the door. They walk to the swing and sit down.

[Creaking, boinging]

Lucky Loover Bird says, MIXING UP ADVENTURES NEAR AND FAR, BUT HOME IS WHERE THE MIXMUPS ARE. BYE, MIXMUPS!

[Chiming, cheerful music plays]
