The narrator continues, ADD CUBES OF BUTTER INTO A BOWL OF FLOUR AND TICKLE THEM TOGETHER UNTIL THE MIXTURE LOOKS LIKE BREADCRUMBS. ADD COLD WATER INTO THE FLOUR AND MIX IT TOGETHER. LIGHTLY FLOUR THE SURFACE AND THE ROLLING PIN. SHAPE THE DOUGH INTO A BALL AND ROLL IT OUT, LIKE THIS.
The person rolls out the dough.
The narrator says, PLACE A PLATE ON TOP OF THE PASTRY AND CAREFULLY CUT AROUND IT. LIFT IT ONTO AN OILED PIE DISH, GENTLY PRESS DOWN, AND PINCH ALL THE WAY AROUND THE EDGE TO CRIMP IT. PRICK THE BASE, PLACE A PIECE OF GREASEPROOF PAPER ON TOP OF THE PASTRY, AND PUSH SCRUNCHED UP FOIL BALLS INSIDE. DON'T FORGET, YOU CAN ALWAYS REUSE THE FOIL BALLS AGAIN. THEN PUT THE PIE DISH INTO THE FRIDGE TO CHILL. NOW POUR MELTED BUTTER AND BUTTERMILK INTO A BOWL OF SUGAR, AND MIX IT, MIX IT, MIX IT
The person stirs the bowl with a spoon.
The narrator says, CRACK AN EGG INTO A MUG, CHECK IT FOR SHELL, AND DON'T FORGET TO WIPE YOUR HANDS AFTER TOUCHING RAW EGG. WHISK THE EGG, ADD IT TO THE BOWL OF INGREDIENTS, THEN MIX IT AGAIN. NOW, ASK A GROWNUP TO PUT THE CHILLED PASTRY CASE INTO THE OVEN. SPOON THE PUMPKIN PUREE INTO THE EGG AND SUGAR MIXTURE AND GIVE IT A MIX. THEN ADD FLOUR, CINNAMON, GINGER, NUTMEG, ALLSPICE, AND CLOVES, THEN MIX IT, MIX IT, MIX IT AGAIN. ADD THE PUMPKIN MIXTURE INTO THE COOKED AND COOLED PASTRY CASE LIKE THIS. NOW, ASK A GROWNUP TO PUT THE PIE INTO THE OVEN FOR YOU TO COOK.
Febo sets a table decorated with gourds. Red, white and blue balloons are tied around the dining room, along with American flag bunting.
The narrator says, THERE'S JUST ENOUGH TIME FOR FEBO TO GET THE TABLE READY FOR HIS TASTY AMERICAN PUMPKIN PIE.
Febo says, I'M USING A PAPER TABLECLOTH SO I CAN USE CRAYONS TO DECORATE IT, AND MY FRIENDS CAN HELP, TOO.
(Doorbell ringing)
Febo says, OH, MY FRIENDS.
The narrator says, AH, WELL DONE, FEBO, WHAT A GOOD IDEA. MAKE SURE YOU TELL YOUR FRIENDS NOT TO DRAW ON THEIR TABLECLOTHS AT HOME THOUGH.
Febo says, HI!
Taylan says, HI.
Febo says, COME IN.
Harley says, HI.
The narrator says, NOW EVERYONE'S WASHED THEIR HANDS AND THEY'RE READY TO EAT.
The children sit at the table.
Febo asks, WHAT DO YOU THINK OF MY TABLE DECORATIONS?
Tilly says, THEY'RE GOOD. I LIKE THE PUMPKINS.
Harley says, I LIKE THE BALLOONS BECAUSE THEY'RE DIFFERENT COLOURS.
A baseball is among the gourds.
Taylan says, I LIKE THE BASEBALL.
Febo says, DO YOU WANT TO HELP ME DECORATE THE TABLE?
The children say, YEAH.
The narrator says, WOW, WHAT FUN.
(Chuckling)
The children use crayons to draw on the paper tablecloth. Harley draws a jack o’ lantern.
The narrator asks, IS THAT A PUMPKIN WITH TEETH? YOU'RE ALL DOING A BRILLIANT JOB OF THAT.
Febo asks, SO, TILLY WHAT DO YOU THINK I'VE COOKED?
Tilly says, I DON'T KNOW.
The narrator says, HERE'S DAD WITH THE COOKED AND COOLED PUMPKIN PIE.
Febo Sr. says, HERE'S YOUR AMAZING PUMPKIN PIE. THERE YOU GO.
Febo says, THANK YOU.
Febo Sr. puts cuts pieces of pie on plates in front of the children.
The narrator says, WOW, FEBO, THAT LOOKS SO TASTY, AND DAD HAS DISHED UP SOME WHIPPED CREAM FOR EVERYONE TO ENJOY, TOO. THAT LOOKS YUMMY. EARLIER MOST OF FEBO'S FRIENDS LIKED THE TASTE OF PUMPKIN, I WONDER IF THEY'LL STILL LIKE IT NOW IT'S IN HIS PUMPKIN PIE?
Harley says, I REALLY LIKE IT.
Tilly says, I REALLY LIKE THE PASTRY.
Taylan says, I DON'T LIKE IT, I LOVE IT.
Febo asks, WHAT DO YOU THINK THE SPECIAL INGREDIENT IS?
Harley says, PUMPKINS.
Taylan says, PUMPKIN.
Tilly says, PUMPKIN.
Febo asks, DO YOU LIKE PUMPKIN NOW?
Harley says, I DIDN'T LIKE IT BEFORE, BUT I THINK IT'S FANTASTIC NOW.
The narrator says, WELL DONE, FEBO, YOUR FRIENDS LOVED THEIR PUMPKIN PIE.
Febo says, THANK YOU FOR COMING TO MY WORLD KITCHEN.
