Elinor stops and sniffs a pot of flowers in front of a store.

Olive grabs her hand and pull Elinor away. Olive runs ahead and opens the door to bakery for Ranger Rabbit.
Elinor and Ari bow to Olive.
(Laughing)
(Humming)
Mr. Raccoon carries a tray of pastries from the back of the store.
Mr. Raccoon says, WHOA, WHOA, WHOA! TASTY TREATS COMING THOUGH.

The children say, YES! AWESOME!
(Giggling)
Ranger Rabbit says, THANK YOU, MR. RACOON.
The children say, THANKS! THANK YOU!
Mr. Raccoon says, YOU'RE WELCOME.
Ari reaches for a doughnut on the bottom of the stack.
Ari says, HMM... AH-HAH! WHOOPS!
The stack of doughnuts wobbles and Mr. Raccoon steadies it.
(Chuckling)
Mr. Raccoon asks, NOW HOW CAN I HELP YOU?
Ranger Rabbit says, WELL, WE ARE OUT GETTING SUPPLIES, MR. RACOON.
Elinor says, BECAUSE WE'RE GOING ON A TRIP! MY MOM IS TAKING US CAMPING THIS WEEKEND!
Mr. Raccoon asks, OH, HOW EXCITING! WHERE ARE YOU GOING?
Ranger Rabbit says, WE'RE HEADING OUT TO HIDDEN LAKE.
Olive says, WE'VE NEVER BEEN THERE BEFORE, IT'S GONNA BE SO MUCH FUN!
Mr. Raccoon says, I'M SURE IT WILL BE. WELL, YOU CAME TO THE RIGHT PLACE. I MAKE THE BEST BAKED CAMPING GOODIES IN TOWN. OF COURSE, I'M ALSO THE ONLY BAKER IN TOWN.
(Chuckling)
Mr. Raccoon says, HERE YOU GO!
Mr. Raccoon hands Ranger Rabbit a large bag.
Ranger Rabbit says, THANK YOU, MR. RACOON!
Ari says, MMM, THIS DONUT IS SO GOOD, I WISH I COULD EAT THE HOLE, TOO!
Olive says, ARI, YOU CAN'T EAT THE HOLE. IT'S A HOLE.
(Giggling)
Elinor says, HMM, MR. RACOON, I NEVER THOUGHT ABOUT THIS BEFORE, BUT I WONDER, WHY DO DONUTS HAVE HOLES?
Mr. Raccoon says, WELL, THAT'S EASY, YOU SEE, THEY'RE BAKED WITH THE HOLES IN THEM.
Elinor asks, BUT WHY DO YOU PUT HOLES IN THEM?
Mr. Raccoon says, UM, HMM... UH... THAT'S A GOOD QUESTION, ELINOR!
(Giggling)
Olive says, YEAH, ELINOR IS REALLY GOOD AT ASKING QUESTIONS.
Ari says, YEP, SHE'S THE BEST QUESTION ASKER IN THE WORLD.
Ranger Rabbit says, KIDS, WE SHOULD GET GOING. WE STILL HAVE MORE THINGS TO GET FOR OUR TRIP. THANKS AGAIN, MR. RACOON.
Elinor says, SEE YOU LATER!
Olive says, BYE!
Mr. Raccoon says, GOODBYE, HAVE FUN! HMM.
Mr. Raccoon studies a doughnut.
Ranger Rabbit walks through a town.
Ranger Rabbit says, OKAY, LET'S SEE, WE SHOULD GET SOME FRUIT, BUT I ALSO NEED TO STOP AT THE POST OFFICE TO PICK UP A PACKAGE.
Olive says, WE CAN GET THE FRUIT FROM MS. LLAMA, RANGER RABBIT.
Ranger Rabbit says, OH, OKAY, THANKS, KIDS. I'LL SEE YOU AT THE POST OFFICE.
Elinor says, HMM. I DO ASK A LOT OF QUESTIONS.
Olive says, YEAH, REMEMBER THAT TIME YOU ASKED MS. MOLE SO MANY QUESTIONS SHE GAVE US EXTRA RECESS SO WE COULD KEEP EXPLORING?
A flashback shows Elinor hopping beside Ms. Mole.
Elinor asks, MS. MOLE, WHY ARE TREES SO TALL? AND WHY DO FISH SWIM? AND WHY DO LIZARDS HAVE SUCH LONG TAILS?
(Chuckling)
Ms. Mole says, OH, ELINOR.
Present-day Elinor looks thoughtful.
Elinor says THOSE WERE PRETTY GOOD QUESTIONS.
(Giggling)
Elinor says, I WONDER WHY I ASK SO MANY QUESTIONS. WHY DO I WONDER WHY? HMM...
Olive and Ari shrug.
Olive says, COME ON, LET'S GO.
The others walk away. Elinor stops and looks at a bird perched on a fountain in the town square.
(Bird chirping)
(Gasping)
(Music playing)
Elinor singing, WHY DO I WONDER WHY SONGBIRDS SING? AND HOW MANY FEATHERS ARE IN THEIR WINGS WHY DO I WONDER WHY LEAVES ARE GREEN? WHY DO I WONDER, WHAT DOES IT MEAN? WHY DO I WONDER IF FISH HAVE EARS AND IF THEY DON'T, THEN HOW DO THEY HEAR? WHY DO I WONDER WHY TREES ARE TALL? WHY DO I WONDER ANYTHING AT ALL? WHY, WHY, WHY? I WONDER WHY THERE'S SO MANY THINGS I FIND INTERESTING?
Olive and Ari singing, WHY, WHY, WHY, SHE WONDERS WHY.
Elinor singing, WHY DO I WONDER? I WANT TO KNOW WHY WHEN I HAVE A QUESTION, I GO AND EXPLORE BUT NOW I WONDER WHAT IS WONDERING FOR?
Olive and Ari singing, WHY, WHY, WHY, SHE WONDERS WHY.
Elinor singing, THERE'S SO MANY THINGS I FIND INTERESTING.
Olive and Ari singing, WHY, WHY, WHY SHE WONDERS WHY.
Elinor singing, WHY DO I WONDER, I WANT TO KNOW WHY, WHY?
Elinor walks with Olive and Ari. Olive holds a bag filled with fruit.
Elinor says, I KNOW I ASK A LOT OF QUESTIONS, BUT WHAT IS ASKING QUESTIONS GOOD FOR?
Ari says, ELINOR, YOU'RE THE ONLY BUNNY I KNOW WHO CAN ASK A QUESTION ABOUT ASKING QUESTIONS.
Ranger Rabbit walks out of a post office.
Elinor asks, WHAT'S THAT, MOM?
Ranger Rabbit says, IT'S A LETTER FROM MY OLD FRIEND, BEATRIZ. DO YOU REMEMBER HER?
Ranger Rabbit shows Elinor photographs.
Elinor says, HM, I DON'T THINK SO.
Ranger Rabbit says, I THINK SHE MOVED AWAY WHEN YOU WERE JUST A BABY. SHE'S COMING THIS WAY TO CAMP AT HIDDEN LAKE FOR A FEW DAYS.
Elinor says, HIDDEN LAKE? THAT'S WHERE WE'RE GOING!
Ranger Rabbit says, YES, MAYBE WE'LL SEE HER THERE. OKAY, SHOULD WE CONTINUE TO GET THINGS FOR OUR TRIP?
Ari asks, RANGER RABBIT, ARE WE GOING TO GET MARSHMALLOWS?
(Frog croaking)
(Gasping)
Ari says, RIBBIT?
Olive says, IT'S A FROG!
Ranger Rabbit says, I WONDER WHAT HE'S DOING IN THE MIDDLE OF TOWN?
(Gasping)
Elinor says, I'VE NEVER SEEN A FROG HERE BEFORE. MOM, CAN WE FOLLOW IT?
Ranger Rabbit says, SURE, KIDS. I'LL GO GET THE REST OF THE THINGS WE NEED AND THEN COME FIND YOU. JUST KEEP A SAFE DISTANCE AND TRY NOT TO SCARE IT.
Ranger Rabbit takes the bag from Olive.
Ranger Rabbit says, THANKS, MOM. LET'S FOLLOW THAT FROG!
(Music playing)
Elinor, Ari, and Olive run after the frog as it hops away.
(Croaking)
The frog hops around people. Elinor dodges them as she follows the frog.
Elinor says, EXCUSE ME, SORRY!
The frog hops to a bus stop. Ms. Mole sits reading a book. The frog hops onto the book.
(Gasping)
Ms. Mole says, WOW, THESE ILLUSTRATIONS ARE SO LIFELIKE!
(Chuckling)
The frog hops away. Elinor and the others run after it. The frog hops out of the town toward green trees. It jumps across a ditch.
(Croaking)
Elinor says, WHOA, NICE JUMP! AWW, CUTE! IT LOOKS KINDA LOST.
The frog hops into a dry creek.
Ari says, THIS IS WHERE WE USUALLY FIND FROGS BUT THERE'S ONLY ONE NOW.
Olive says, AND THE CREEK IS REALLY DRY. THERE'S NO WATER IN IT.
Elinor says, MAYBE THAT'S WHY THE FROG WAS IN TOWN. THE CREEK IS DRY SO IT WENT LOOKING FOR WATER.
Olive says, OOH, I THINK I READ ABOUT THIS IN MY NATURE BOOK. "MOST FROGS LIKE PONDS AND CREEKS THAT HAVE JUST THE RIGHT AMOUNT OF WATER FOR THEM." "IF THERE'S TOO MUCH OR TOO LITTLE FROM WHAT THEY'RE USED TO THEY WON'T LIKE IT."
(Frog croaking)
Elinor says, AWW, POOR LITTLE FROGGY. I WONDER WHERE ALL THE WATER WENT.
(Croaking)
The frog hops away.
Ari calls, BYE, FROGGY! I HOPE YOU FIND A GOOD WET FROG SPOT.
Ranger Rabbit walks over, carrying bags.
Ranger Rabbit says, AH, I THOUGHT THE FROG WOULD COME TO THIS CREEK.
Elinor says, WE FOLLOWED IT HERE, BUT THE CREEK IS REALLY DRY.
Ranger Rabbit says, HUH, IT IS UNUSUAL FOR THE CREEK TO BE THIS DRY THIS TIME OF YEAR. I'LL HAVE DEPUTY MOUSE LOOK INTO IT LATER. OH, SPEAKING OF DEPUTY MOUSE, I SHOULD CHECK IN ON HIM.
Ranger Rabbit hands Olive and Elinor two bags. She takes out a walkie talkie.
(Beeping)
Ranger Rabbit says, DEPUTY MOUSE, COME IN, DEPUTY MOUSE.
(Radio crackling)
Deputy Mouse says, I HEAR YOU LOUD AND CLEAR, RANGER RABBIT. I'M HERE HELPING MRS. BEAVER CLEAR SOME SPACE FOR THE NEW ROAD INTO TOWN.
Ranger Rabbit asks, DID YOU FIND THE SITE OKAY?
Deputy Mouse says, YES, IT'S RIGHT NEAR HIDDEN LAKE. THERE ARE A LOT OF BUSHES, BRANCHES, AND STICKS, BUT MRS. BEAVER AND HER CREW ARE HAVING NO PROBLEM MOVING THEM OUT OF THE WAY.
Ranger Rabbit says, OKAY, GOOD LUCK, DEPUTY MOUSE. CALL ME IF ANY PROBLEMS COME UP.
Deputy Mouse says, WILL DO, RANGER RABBIT.
(Beeping)
Ranger Rabbit says, I THINK WE HAVE ALL THE SUPPLIES WE NEED FOR THE TRIP.
Ari asks, DID YOU GET MARSHMALLOWS?
Ranger Rabbit says, NO, UNFORTUNATELY. MR. HIPPO WAS OUT OF MARSHMALLOWS.
Ari says, NO MARSHMALLOWS?!
(Sighing)
Ranger Rabbit says, I'M SORRY, ARI.
Ari says, THAT'S OKAY, I'M STILL EXCITED TO GO. MAYBE I'LL BRING EXTRA PICKLES.
(Giggling)
Olive says, WE CAN'T WAIT TO GO EXPLORING, RANGER RABBIT.
Ranger Rabbit says, WONDERFUL, OLIVE! WE'LL BE LEAVING THE HOUSE BRIGHT AND EARLY TOMORROW MORNING.
Ari says, WE'LL BE THERE!
Ranger Rabbit and the others walk away. Elinor turns back to look at the empty creek.
It is nighttime. Elinor wears pink and purple pyjamas. She climbs onto a bed.
Elinor asks, MOM, WHAT TIME ARE ARI AND OLIVE COMING TOMORROW? AND HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO GET TO HIDDEN LAKE? IS IT REALLY HIDDEN? WHAT'S IT LIKE THERE?
Ranger Rabbit says, MY, YOU DO ASK A LOT OF QUESTIONS. ACTUALLY, YOU KNOW WHO YOU REMIND ME OF?
Elinor asks, WHO?
Ranger Rabbit says, MY FRIEND, BEATRIZ. SHE ASKED A LOT OF QUESTIONS WHEN SHE WAS LITTLE, TOO.
Elinor asks, REALLY?
Ranger Rabbit says, YEP, I HOPE YOU GET TO MEET HER ON OUR TRIP. BUT NOW IT'S TIME TO SLEEP.
Ranger Rabbit kisses Elinor.
Elinor says, OKAY, MOM. NIGHT-NIGHT.
Ranger Rabbit says, GOODNIGHT, MY HONEY BUNNY QUESTION ASKER.
Ranger Rabbit turns off the bedroom lights and walks away, shutting the door behind her.
(Music playing)
Elinor singing, WHY DO I WONDER WHY STARS ARE BRIGHT? WHY DO I WONDER IF BIRDS SLEEP AT NIGHT? WHEN I HAVE A QUESTION, I GO AND EXPLORE BUT NOW I WONDER WHAT IS WONDERING FOR?
(Sighing sleepily)
It is morning. Elinor’s bed is empty.
(Birds chirping)
Ranger Rabbit stands outside the house. Mr. Rabbit and Elinor walk outside. Elinor wears a red and yellow hat and a backpack.
Elinor asks, WHO'S READY TO GO EXPLORING?
(Giggling)
Ranger Rabbit says, WELL, I THINK THAT'S EVERYTHING.
Mr. Rabbit says, ONE MORE THING, I MADE YOU A LOAF OF MY WORLD-FAMOUS CARROT CAKE.
Ranger Rabbit says, AWW, THANKS, SWEETIE.
Ranger Rabbit kisses Mr. Rabbit’s cheek.
Olive calls, ELINOR!
(Gasping)
Olive and Ari walk toward the house, followed by Mrs. Elephant and Mr. Bat.
Ari says, EXPLORERS OLIVE AND ARI REPORTING FOR DUTY! TEN-HUT!
(Giggling)
Mrs. Elephant says, HELLO!
Mr. Bat says, GOOD MORNING!
Ranger Rabbit says, HI!
Mr. Rabbit says, GOOD MORNING!
Ari says, I CAN'T WAIT TO GET TO HIDDEN LAKE!
Olive says, THIS IS GOING TO BE SUCH AN AMAZING ADVENTURE!
Mrs. Elephant asks, NOW SWEETIE, DO YOU HAVE EVERYTHING YOU NEED? YOU HAVE YOUR HAT. DO YOU HAVE SUNSCREEN? YOUR JACKET, YOUR PILLOW?
Olive says, YES, MOM!
Mrs. Elephant asks, YOUR BLANKIE? YOUR BOOKS, YOUR NOTEBOOK?
Olive says, YES, MOM, I HAVE EVERYTHING.
Mrs. Elephant says, AH, WELL, I GUESS YOU'RE ALL READY TO GO.
Ari says, ME TOO, I'M SUPER READY TO GO!
Mr. Bat asks, ARE YOU SURE, ARI? AREN'T YOU FORGETTING YOUR FAVOURITE PLUSHY?
Mr. Bat holds out a bird-shaped toy.
Ari says, ROBIN! OH, UH... THAT'S OKAY, DAD. I DON'T THINK I NEED HIM, HEH.
Mr. Bat says, OH, OKAY.
Ari says, WELL... I DON'T REALLY WANT ROBIN TO GET LONELY. SO MAYBE HE SHOULD COME WITH ME. WHO'S MY FAVOURITE BIRDIE BUDDY? YOU ARE, YES YOU ARE!
(Giggling)
Mr. Rabbit says, WELL, I THINK YOU KIDS ARE GONNA HAVE A LOT OF FUN THIS WEEKEND.
Elinor asks, HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO GET THERE, MOM?
Ranger Rabbit says, OH, NOT LONG. WE SHOULD GET TO HIDDEN LAKE BY THE AFTERNOON.
Mr. Rabbit asks, HMM. OH, DO YOU HAVE THE MAP?
Ranger Rabbit says, YEP, I HAVE IT RIGHT HERE.
Elinor asks, CAN WE HOLD ONTO THE MAP, MOM?
Ranger Rabbit says, SURE, KIDS, YOU CAN BE THE OFFICIAL MAP GUIDES.
Ari says, AWESOME!
Elinor says, COOL!
Ranger Rabbit says, OKAY, I THINK WE'RE ALL SET TO GO.
Mr. Rabbit says, HAVE A FUN TRIP!
Mrs. Elephant HAVE FUN!
Mrs. Elephant kisses Olive’s head.
(Lips smacking)
The children say, BYE! SEE YOU LATER!
Mrs. Elephant says, BYE, SWEETIE!
Elinor says, WAIT, WE NEED TO SAY THE EXPLORERS' PLEDGE.
Ari says, YEAH!
Olive says, OKAY.
The children say, AN EXPLORER IS BRAVE, AN EXPLORER IS KIND, AN EXPLORER IS CURIOUS! WHO KNOWS WHAT WE'LL FIND?
Elinor says, LET'S GO EXPLORE!
Elinor and the others start walking.
(Music playing)
Elinor, Olive and Ari singing, EXPLORE, EXPLORE, JUST WALK OUT THE DOOR. THE WHOLE WORLD IS THERE, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? EXPLORE, EXPLORE, THEN EXPLORE SOME MORE. YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'LL FIND UNTIL YOU EXPLORE. WHO KNOWS WHERE YOU'LL GO AND WHAT YOU WILL SEE. IT COULD BE A FOREST, A CAVE, OR THE SEA. YOU MIGHT CLIMB A MOUNTAIN OR WADE THROUGH A BOG OR YOU MIGHT FIND A TOAD UNDER A ROCK OR A LOG. EXPLORE, EXPLORE, JUST WALK OUT THE DOOR. THE WHOLE WORLD IS THERE, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? EXPLORE, EXPLORE, THEN EXPLORE SOME MORE. YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'LL FIND UNTIL YOU EXPLORE.
Ranger Rabbit leads the children along a forest path.
Elinor says, WHOA. I DON'T THINK I'VE EVER BEEN THIS FAR INTO THE FOREST BEFORE.
Ranger Rabbit says, HERE IT IS, THE TRAIL TO HIDDEN LAKE.
The children say, OH!
Elinor says, I WONDER WHAT WE'LL FIND.
Olive asks, ARE WE GOING TO SEE NEW ANIMALS OR BUGS?
Elinor says, OR MAYBE NEW PLANTS!
Ranger Rabbit says, THOSE ARE GREAT QUESTIONS, KIDS.
Elinor says, ARI, OLIVE, I THINK I FIGURED OUT ONE THING THAT ASKING QUESTIONS IS GOOD FOR. EXPLORING! WHENEVER WE GO EXPLORING, IT'S USUALLY BECAUSE WE'RE WONDERING ABOUT SOMETHING.
Olive says, YEAH, LIKE WHAT ARE WE GOING TO FIND?
Ari says, OR WHAT ARE WE GOING TO DISCOVER?
Ranger Rabbit says, AH, YOU'RE RIGHT, ELINOR! EXPLORING OFTEN STARTS WITH A QUESTION.
(Gasping)
Elinor says, THEN LET'S GO ASK MORE QUESTIONS!
(Music playing)
The children run along the path and Ranger Rabbit follows.
Children singing, WHAT'S BEYOND THAT TREE, YOU MIGHT WANT TO KNOW. IT ALL STARTS WITH ASKING WHERE SHOULD I GO? OR YOU MIGHT WANT TO ASK WHO WILL I MEET? IT'S ALL THERE FOR YOU, JUST ASK AND YOU'LL SEE. EXPLORE, EXPLORE, JUST WALK OUT THE DOOR. THE WHOLE WORLD IS THERE, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? EXPLORE, EXPLORE, THEN EXPLORE SOME MORE. YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'LL FIND UNTIL YOU EXPLORE.
(Wind rustling)
Ranger Rabbit leads the children through a green meadow. A ladybug lands on a purple flower. Olive looks at the map.
Olive says, OKAY, THAT'S WHERE WE'RE GOING, HIDDEN LAKE!
Elinor says, LOOK, THERE'S A RIVER THAT GOES INTO IT, AND A RIVER THAT GOES OUT OF IT. ALL THE WAY TO ANIMAL TOWN.
Ari says, HEY, WAIT A MINUTE. THAT'S THE CREEK WHERE WE FOLLOWED THE FROG!
Elinor says, AND THERE'S A SMALLER CREEK THAT GOES NEAR THE TRAIL WE'RE ON.
Olive says, AND THAT'S WHERE WE HAVE TO TURN TO GET TO THE LAKE.
Ranger Rabbit says, HOW ARE YOU DOING WITH THE MAP, KIDS?
Ari says, WE'RE ON THE RIGHT TRACK, RANGER RABBIT.
Olive says, YEAH, WE JUST KEEP WALKING AND THEN TURN WHEN WE GET TO A CREEK.
Ranger Rabbit says, OKAY.
Elinor asks, MOM, DID YOU SAY I KNEW BEATRIZ WHEN I WAS LITTLE?
Elinor says, YEAH, BEATRIZ AND I HAVE BEEN FRIENDS FOR A LONG TIME, ELINOR. IN FACT, I USED TO BABYSIT HER WHEN SHE WAS LITTLE.
Elinor says, AWW, REALLY?
Ranger Rabbit says, YOU'LL REALLY LIKE HER. SHE'S AN INVENTOR. INVENTORS COME UP WITH NEW THINGS THAT SOLVE A PROBLEM OR HELP YOU DO SOMETHING.
The children say, OOH! WOW!
Ari says, AWESOME, THAT IS SO COOL! COULD SHE INVENT A MARSHMALLOW- MAKING MACHINE?
Ari says in a robot voice, BEEP-BOOP. MAKING MARSHMALLOWS. NEED MARSHMALLOWS. BEEP-BOOP.
(Laughing)
Olive says, I WONDER IF SHE CAN INVENT A DRAWING MACHINE.
Elinor says, BUT OLIVE, YOU ALREADY ARE A DRAWING MACHINE.
Ari says, YEAH, YOU DRAW ALL THE TIME!
(Giggling)
Olive says, YOU'RE RIGHT, I DO.
(Music playing)
Ranger Rabbit steps over a log in the forest. Ari flies over the log.
Ari says, AH! HI-YAH!
Ranger Rabbit says, HMM, I DON'T REMEMBER THIS PART OF THE TRAIL ON THE WAY TO HIDDEN LAKE.
Elinor says, UH-OH.
Ranger Rabbit asks, CAN YOU CHECK THE MAP, OLIVE?
Olive unfolds the map.
Olive says, WE WERE SUPPOSED TO TURN AT THE CREEK.
Elinor says, HMM. I DIDN'T SEE A CREEK.
Ari hugs his toy.
Ari says, DON'T WORRY, ROBIN, WE'LL FIGURE IT OUT.
(Toy squeaking)
Ranger Rabbit says, HMM. I'M SURE WE JUST MISSED IT. LET'S TURN BACK.
(Branch snapping)
Everyone turns.
Elinor asks, WHAT WAS THAT?
(Rustling)
A bush rustles.
Olive says, IT'S COMING CLOSER!
Ari whispers, I'M SO GLAD YOU'RE HERE, ROBIN.
(Squeaking)
Ranger Rabbit says, HELLO? IS SOMEONE THERE?
A person with curly brown hair, a pointed snout, and a ringed tail steps out of the bushes. The person carries a backpack and wears a khaki jacket, blue shirt and tan pants.
The person says, OH, HELLO.
Ranger Rabbit says, BEATRIZ?!
(Gasping)
Beatriz says, RANGER RABBIT?! NO LO PUEDO CREER! I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!
(Laughing)
Ranger Rabbit says, IT'S SO GOOD TO SEE YOU!
Beatriz says, YOU GOT MY LETTER! COME HERE, GIVE ME A HUG!
The children say, PHEW!
Ranger Rabbit says, I SHOULD INTRODUCE YOU. KIDS, THIS IS BEATRIZ.
Beatriz says, HELLO! ELINOR, QUE PRECIOSA! LOOK AT YOU, ALL GROWN UP NOW! I HAVEN'T SEEN YOU SINCE YOU WERE A LITTLE BABY BUNNY.
(Giggling)
Elinor says, HI!
Beatriz says, OH, AND WHO DO WE HAVE HERE?
Ari says, I'M ARI. OH.
(Toy squeaking)
Olive says, AND I'M OLIVE.
Beatriz says, WELL, IT'S GREAT TO MEET YOU, ARI AND OLIVE.
Ari asks, SO, YOU INVENT THINGS?
Beatriz says, YUP! I'M AN INVENTOR.
Elinor says, HMM.
Beatriz takes off a backpack.
Beatriz says, I INVENTED THIS, FOR EXAMPLE. AND THIS.
A side pouch on the backpack opens and a curled tool pops out. It uncoils into a long stick with a metal grasping hooks on the end.
The children say, WHOA! COOL!
Beatriz says, YUP. I'M SO GLAD I RAN INTO YOU! BUT WHAT ARE YOU DOING ALL THE WAY OUT HERE?
Ranger Rabbit says, WELL, I THINK WE TOOK A WRONG TURN. WE WERE HEADED FOR THE CAMPING AREA NEAR HIDDEN LAKE.
Beatriz says, HUH, THAT'S WHERE MY CAMP IS SET UP!
(Gasping)
Beatriz says, DO YOU WANT TO CAMP TOGETHER?
The children say, OKAY, YEAH! YES, PLEASE!
Beatriz says, HMM, YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO TURN AT THE CREEK. HUH.
(Gasping)
Beatriz says, I BET I KNOW WHY YOU MISSED IT. COME ON!
(Music playing)
Beatriz leads everyone to a dried up creek.
Ranger Rabbit says, AH, I SEE. WE MISSED THE CREEK BECAUSE IT'S DRY. BUT THAT'S ODD. THE CREEK SHOULDN'T BE DRY THIS TIME OF YEAR.
Beatriz says, I DID NOTICE THAT A LOT OF THE CREEKS ON THIS SIDE OF THE LAKE ARE DRY.
Elinor says, AND WE SAW A DRY CREEK IN ANIMAL TOWN, TOO!
Ranger Rabbit says, YOU'RE RIGHT, ELINOR. HUH.
Beatriz asks, HMM, WELL, SHOULD WE GO BACK TO THE CAMPSITE?
The children say, SURE, OKAY. YEAH.
(Music playing)
Everyone walks along a forest path.
Ranger Rabbit asks, WHAT BRINGS YOU TO HIDDEN LAKE, BEATRIZ?
Beatriz says, OH, I'M HERE TO GET IDEAS FROM NATURE FOR MY INVENTIONS.
Elinor asks, IDEAS FROM NATURE?
Beatriz says, OH, YES! NATURE IS FULL OF IDEAS. FOR EXAMPLE, I GOT THE IDEA FOR THIS PART WHEN I WAS STUDYING BUTTERFLIES IN THE JUNGLE LAST SUMMER. I WAS OUT EXPLORING WHEN I NOTICED BUTTERFLIES HAVE A LONG MOUTH, CALLED A PROBOSCIS, THAT ROLLS UP, AND I THOUGHT, "OH! "WHAT A GREAT WAY TO STORE SOMETHING LONG." BUT THEN I THOUGHT, "WHOA, HOW CAN I USE IT TO GRAB THINGS?" SO I LOOKED FOR IDEAS IN NATURE, AND I LEARNED THAT BIRD BEAKS ARE REALLY STRONG AND GOOD FOR GRABBING THINGS. SO I MADE THIS PART JUST LIKE A BIRD BEAK.
The children say, AWESOME! COOL!
Ranger Rabbit says, BEATRIZ WAS JUST LIKE YOU, ELINOR, WHEN SHE WAS A LITTLE GIRL. SHE LOVED TO ASK LOTS OF QUESTIONS.
Elinor says, REALLY, LIKE ME?
Beatriz says, YES, AND I STILL DO. LOOK! AND HERE WE ARE. HIDDEN LAKE.
(Birdsong)
Birds fly over a blue-green lake.
The children say, WOW!
Beatriz tosses her coiled tool in the air. She kicks it off her foot and into a pouch on her backpack.
Elinor says, WHOA.
Beatriz says, FOLLOW ME TO THE CAMPSITE.
Ari says, WOW. I DON'T THINK BEATRIZ COULD BE ANY COOLER.
Beatriz says, OH, BY THE WAY, I BROUGHT WAY TOO MANY MARSHMALLOWS WITH ME. DO YOU WANT TO HELP ME EAT THEM?
Ari says, OKAY, I WAS WRONG. BEATRIZ JUST GOT WAY COOLER.
(Giggling)
Beatriz walks to a tent set up by a picnic table and a sandy area with an unlit campfire in the centre.
(Geese squawking)
It is nighttime. Four more tents have been set up and Elinor and the others sit on logs around the lit fire.
Olive says, AND THEY DIDN'T HEAR A SOUND. BUT THEN, WHEN THEY OPENED THE DOOR...
(Gasping)
Olive says, IT WAS JUST A FRIENDLY BUTTERFLY. THE END.
Ari says, PHEW! OW.
Ari falls backward off the log.
(Giggling)
Ranger Rabbit says, GREAT STORY, OLIVE.
Beatriz uses her grasping tool to hand Ari a marshmallow.
Beatriz says, HERE YOU GO, ARI.
Ari says, THANKS!
Elinor asks, WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO INVENT NEXT, BEATRIZ?
Beatriz says, OOH, I'M GLAD YOU ASKED, ELINOR! I'M TRYING TO INVENT A NEW KIND OF STICKY TAPE, SO I'M HERE TO GET IDEAS FROM FROGS.
Olive says, OH, WE LOVE FROGS!
Elinor asks, BUT WHY FROGS?
Beatriz says, BECAUSE OF THEIR TONGUES! MMM!
Beatriz sticks out her tongue.
(Laughing)
Beatriz says, FROGS HAVE VERY SPECIAL TONGUES. OH, I KNOW! WHY DON'T YOU COME WITH ME TO OBSERVE THEM TOMORROW?
Elinor says, REALLY?
Ari says, COOL!
Beatriz says, YOU DO KNOW HOW TO OBSERVE, RIGHT?
Elinor says, YEP, OBSERVING MEANS USING YOUR SENSES. LIKE LOOKING AND LISTENING TO NOTICE AND LEARN ABOUT THINGS.
Beatriz says, THAT'S RIGHT!
Ranger Rabbit says, SOUNDS LIKE A PLAN. LET'S GET SOME REST NOW.
Ari says, YES!
He eats a marshmallow. Everyone gets up and Ranger Rabbit pours a bucket of water over the fire.
Elinor says, THIS HAS BEEN AN AWESOME TRIP SO FAR, MOM! I CAN'T WAIT UNTIL TOMORROW.
Ranger Rabbit says, AW, I'M GLAD, HONEY BUNNY. HAVE A GOOD SLEEP.
Ranger Rabbit kisses Elinor’s head and goes into a large tent next to Elinor’s small one.
Elinor singing, WHO KNOWS WHERE YOU'LL GO OR WHO YOU WILL MEET. IT MIGHT BE SOMEONE WHO WONDERS LIKE ME.
Elinor looks over at Beatriz’ tent. Beatriz turns off a light.
(Beatriz yawning)
A full moon is in the sky.
(Owl hooting)
It is morning.
(Birds tweeting)
Ari says, THANKS FOR BREAKFAST, RANGER RABBIT. IT'S DEE-LICIOUS!
Ranger Rabbit says, YOU'RE WELCOME, ARI. I'VE NEVER SEEN ANYONE PUT MARSHMALLOWS ON THEIR PANCAKES BEFORE.
Ari says, HMM, I THINK THIS MIGHT BE MY GREATEST INVENTION.
Ari eats.
Beatriz says, RIBBIT, RIBBIT!
Beatriz and Elinor hop like frogs. Olive hops after them.
(Imitating frogs)
Ari asks, UM, WHAT ARE YOU DOING?
Elinor says, WE'RE PRACTICING.
Olive says, YEAH, FOR WHEN BEATRIZ TAKES US TO OBSERVE FROGS TODAY.
Beatriz says, RIBBIT, RIBBIT!
Ari says, OH, I WANNA BE A FROGGY!
(Chomping)
Ari finishes his pancakes. He gets up and carries the plate to Ranger Rabbit.
Ari says, THANKS!
He joins the others in hopping around the campsite.
(Imitating frogs)
Elinor says, WAIT! IF WE'RE ALL FROGS, THEN WHO IS OBSERVING US?
Beatriz says, HOW ABOUT YOU OBSERVE ME? IF YOU CAN CATCH ME!
(Giggling)
Beatriz says, SALTA, RANITA, SALTA!
Elinor says, JUMP, FROGGY, JUMP!
Ranger Rabbit washes plates.
Ranger Rabbit asks, HUH, WHERE SHOULD I PUT THESE TO DRY?
Beatriz says, I HAVE AN IDEA, RANGER RABBIT. LET'S PUT UP A DRYING LINE.
Ranger Rabbit says, AH! BUT I USED THE LAST OF MY ROPE FOR THE TENTS.
Beatriz says, EH, THAT'S NOT A PROBLEM. TAKE YOUR PICK.
Beatriz opens a pocket in her backpack. Different coloured ropes are coiled there.
Elinor says, WOW!
Ari says, COOL!
Ranger Rabbit takes a blue rope and ties it between two trees.
Ranger Rabbit says, HMM, THERE.
Ranger Rabbit’s walkie talkie lights up on the picnic table.
Deputy Mouse says, RANGER RABBIT, COME IN, RANGER RABBIT.
Ranger Rabbit says, HELLO, DEPUTY MOUSE. IS EVERYTHING OKAY? HOW IS THE ROAD PROJECT?
Deputy Mouse says, WELL, WE'VE BEEN CLEARING UP THE STICKS AND BRANCHES TO MAKE ROOM FOR THE NEW ROAD, BUT WE FOUND A REALLY BIG LOG.
Mrs. Beaver gnaws on a log.
(Grunting)
Ranger Rabbit asks, OH DEAR, HOW BIG IS IT?
Deputy Mouse says, IT'S TOO BIG FOR US TO MOVE. IT'S EVEN TOO BIG FOR MRS. BEAVER TO CHOMP THROUGH.
Ranger Rabbit says, HMM, OKAY, DEPUTY MOUSE. DON'T WORRY, LET ME SEE WHAT I CAN DO.
Deputy Mouse says, THANK YOU, RANGER RABBIT.
Ranger Rabbit says, NO PROBLEM, TALK TO YOU SOON.
Elinor asks, IS EVERYTHING OKAY, MOM?
Ranger Rabbit says, IT LOOKS LIKE DEPUTY MOUSE NEEDS MY HELP. HE'S JUST UP THE RIVER THAT GOES INTO HIDDEN LAKE.
Beatriz says, IF YOU NEED TO GO, RANGER RABBIT, I CAN TAKE THE KIDS TO LOOK FOR FROGS WHILE YOU HELP DEPUTY MOUSE.
Ranger Rabbit says, REALLY, ARE YOU SURE?
Beatriz says, OF COURSE! YOU'LL BE NEARBY AND WE'LL HAVE AN AWESOME TIME EXPLORING, RIGHT, KIDS?
The kids say, YEAH!
Ranger Rabbit asks, ARE YOU KIDS OKAY WITH THAT?
Elinor says, SURE, MOM! GO HELP DEPUTY MOUSE.
Ranger Rabbit says, THANKS, KIDS. AND THANK YOU, BEATRIZ. HERE'S A SPARE RADIO SO YOU CAN CALL ME IF YOU NEED ANYTHING.
Beatriz says, GOT IT.
Ranger Rabbit says, I'LL BE BACK SOON.
Elinor says, GOOD LUCK, MOM!
(Radio beeping)
Ranger Rabbit says, DEPUTY MOUSE, I'M ON MY WAY.
Beatriz says, THAT'S RANGER RABBIT. ALWAYS HELPING THE FOREST AND EVERYONE IN IT.
Elinor says, YEAH!
Beatriz asks, OKAY, WHO'S READY TO OBSERVE SOME FROGS?
The children shout, ME!
Olive says, COME ON, LET'S GO.
(Imitating frogs)
Elinor asks, WHERE ARE WE GOING TO LOOK FOR FROGS, BEATRIZ?
Beatriz says, WELL, YOUR MOM TOLD ME THAT THERE'S A SPOT NEAR THE LAKE THAT'S ALWAYS FULL OF FROGS. IT'S CALLED THE FROG BOG.
(Croaking)
Beatriz holds a map.
Beatriz says, I THINK IT'S... THIS WAY!
Beatriz folds the map. She presses a button, and the grasping tool uncoils from her backpack. It takes the map and tucks it into the backpack.
Ari says, OOH!
Olive says, WOW! YOUR INVENTIONS ARE SO FUN!
Ari says, YEAH, AND YOU GET YOUR IDEAS FROM NATURE!
Beatriz says, YEP, YOU CAN FIND IDEAS ALMOST ANYWHERE, BUT I LIKE TO GET MY IDEAS FROM NATURE.
Olive asks, WHY NATURE, BEATRIZ?
Beatriz says, BECAUSE NATURE IS FULL OF IDEAS. EVERYWHERE YOU LOOK, NATURE HAS FOUND A WAY TO SOLVE A PROBLEM OR INVENT SOMETHING USEFUL.
Elinor says, LIKE HOW YOU GOT THE IDEA FOR HOW YOUR STICK ROLLS UP FROM BUTTERFLIES?
Beatriz says, AH, YES, EXACTLY!
Ari says, BUT HOW DO YOU GET THE IDEAS?
Beatriz says, WELL, YOU JUST HAVE TO BE CURIOUS.
Elinor says, DO YOU MEAN, ASK QUESTIONS?
Beatriz says, MM-HM, EXACTLY. IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM OR IF YOU'RE JUST LOOKING FOR IDEAS, ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS JUST LOOK AROUND AND ASK YOURSELF, WHY IS THIS LIKE THIS? OR HOW DOES THAT WORK? AND YOU MIGHT LEARN SOMETHING YOU DIDN'T KNOW BEFORE.
Ari says, AWESOME.
Olive says, YEAH!
Elinor says, HMM.
(Gasping)
Elinor says, ARI, OLIVE! THAT'S SOMETHING ELSE THAT ASKING QUESTIONS IS GOOD FOR! ASKING QUESTIONS IS GOOD FOR GETTING IDEAS!
Beatriz says, THAT'S RIGHT, ELINOR.
(Music playing)
Beatriz singing, NATURE, NATURE IS FULL OF IDEAS. YOU FIND THEM EVERYWHERE, JUST ASK YOURSELF A QUESTION. THE ANSWERS ARE ALL OUT THERE. AIRPLANE WINGS WERE INSPIRED BY BIRDS. WE SAW THEM IN THE SKY AND THEN WE ASKED HOW CAN WE FLY SO HIGH? NATURE, NATURE IS FULL OF IDEAS. YOU FIND THEM EVERYWHERE, JUST ASK YOURSELF A QUESTION THE ANSWERS ARE ALL OUT THERE. SO MANY THINGS HAVE NATURE'S DESIGNS. FROM ROBOTS AND TRAINS TO CLOTHES AND PLANES THE IDEA IS THE SAME. IDEAS ARE THERE
FOR US TO SEE. JUST FOLLOW YOUR CURIOSITY.
All singing, NATURE, NATURE IS FULL OF IDEAS. YOU FIND THEM EVERYWHERE, JUST ASK YOURSELF A QUESTION. THE ANSWERS ARE ALL OUT THERE.
(Birds chirping)
Elinor says, WOW, NATURE REALLY IS FULL OF IDEAS. AND NOW WE KNOW SOMETHING ELSE ASKING QUESTIONS IS GOOD FOR. GETTING IDEAS!
Beatriz leads the children along a path.
Beatriz says, YOU KNOW, YOU SAID THAT BEFORE, ELINOR. WHAT DID YOU MEAN?
Elinor says, WELL, I ALWAYS ASK A LOT OF QUESTIONS. BUT THEN I WONDERED WHY I'M ALWAYS WONDERING. WHAT IS ASKING QUESTIONS GOOD FOR? BUT NOW I KNOW! ASKING QUESTIONS IS GOOD FOR EXPLORING, AND IT'S GOOD FOR GETTING NEW IDEAS.
Beatriz says, YOU'RE RIGHT, ASKING QUESTIONS IS GOOD FOR LOTS OF THINGS, ELINOR.
Olive looks at the map.
Olive says, BEATRIZ, THE FROG BOG SHOULD BE... THIS WAY.
Beatriz says, WELL, ARE WE WAITING FOR? SALTA, RANITA, SALTA!
(Giggling)
A frog hops into a marsh.
Olive says, OKAY, THIS IS WHERE RANGER RABBIT SAID THERE SHOULD BE LOTS OF FROGS.
Ari says, I DON'T SEE ANY FROGS.
Elinor says, ME NEITHER!
Beatriz says, HMM, WE ARE IN THE RIGHT PLACE.
Olive asks, HOW CAN WE OBSERVE FROGS IF WE CAN'T FIND ANY?
Ari says, MAYBE THEY'RE HERE BUT WE JUST CAN'T SEE THEM.
Elinor says, YEAH! MAYBE WE JUST HAVE TO LOOK FOR THEM. COME ON, WE NEED MORE OBSERVATIONS!
Beatriz says, MORE OBSERVATIONS? I LIKE THAT!
(Music playing)
Ari looks around.
Ari says, HERE'S ARI, THE WORLD'S GREATEST SUPER FROG FINDER! LOOKING FOR FROGS... AND HE CAN'T FIND ANY.
(Splashing)
(Gasping)
Ari turns. Elinor hops up and down at the edge of the marsh.
Elinor says, HMM, THE GROUND SEEMS KIND OF WET AND SQUISHY. AND ALL THESE PLANTS SEEM TO BE UNDERWATER.
(Gasping)
Ari says, I KNOW! MAYBE I'LL TRY CALLING THE FROGS!
Ari flaps his wings.
Ari shouts, HERE, FROGGY-FROGGY-FROGGIES! WHERE ARE YOU?
Elinor says, ARI, THIS IS WHERE THE FROGS LIVE. WE HAVE TO BE CAREFUL NOT TO BOTHER THEM.
Ari says, OH, RIGHT! THAT'S ME. SUPER FROG FINDER ARI IS SUPER CAREFUL NOT TO-- WHOA!
Ari lands on a log. He slips off.
Olive says, OH NO!
Elinor asks, ARI, ARE YOU OKAY?
Ari says, BLEH! I MEANT TO DO THAT.
A brown frog is on a lily pad.
Olive says, ARI, YOU FOUND A FROG.
Ari says, I DID? WHERE?
(Giggling)
Elinor says, THERE!
Beatriz says, OH, ARI, YOU'RE SOAKED!
Beatriz uses her gadget to pass Ari a towel from her backpack.
Ari says, WOW, THANKS!
Elinor says, WE ONLY FOUND THIS ONE FROG.
(Croaking)
Elinor says, I MEAN, ARI DID.
Ari says, I AM A SUPER FROG FINDER!
Beatriz says, YOU SURE ARE, ARI. AND NOW FOR MY FAVOURITE PART! OBSERVING NATURE.
Beatriz takes a sketchpad from her backpack.
Olive says, YOU LIKE TO DRAW TOO, BEATRIZ?
Beatriz says, YEP, IT'S MY FAVOURITE WAY TO RECORD MY OBSERVATIONS!
Olive says, MINE TOO!
Beatriz says, COME ON, LET'S OBSERVE!
(Giggling)
Beatriz and the children hide behind a bush.
(Fly buzzing)
Beatriz says, OKAY, THIS IS WHY I LOVE OBSERVING FROGS. JUST WATCH WHAT HAPPENS NEXT. VAMOS, RANITA, VAMOS!
The frog shoots out its tongue and grabs a fly.
Ari says, WHOA!
Elinor says, UM... WHAT JUST HAPPENED?
The frog eats a dragonfly.
Elinor says, IT HAPPENED AGAIN!
Ari says, THE BUGS WERE THERE, AND THEN THEY WERE GONE!
Elinor says, I THINK THE FROG ATE THEM.
Olive says, YES, THE FROG STUCK OUT ITS TONGUE AND CAUGHT THE BUGS!
Ari says, WHOA, THAT IS SO COOL!
(Gasping)
Elinor says, I HAVE SO MANY QUESTIONS!
Beatriz says, THAT'S GREAT! THAT'S HOW WE GET IDEAS, REMEMBER? LET'S WRITE WHAT WE OBSERVED IN THE NOTEBOOK. OKAY, WHAT ARE YOUR QUESTIONS?
Elinor says, WELL, WHY DOES THE FROG STICK OUT ITS TONGUE LIKE THAT?
Beatriz says, GREAT QUESTION! WHY DO YOU THINK?
Elinor says, OKAY, THE FROG WANTS TO EAT THE BUGS.
Ari says, YEAH, BUT THEY'RE TOO FAR AWAY TO CATCH WITH ITS ARMS OR LEGS.
Olive says, SO IT USES ITS LONG TONGUE TO REACH THEM!
Beatriz says, AH, GOOD THINKING!
Elinor says, WOW, THAT'S AMAZING!
Olive says, OH, HOW DOES THE TONGUE CATCH THE BUGS? I DIDN'T SEE IT GRAB THEM.
IT JUST KINDA STUCK TO THEM.
Beatriz says, ACTUALLY, OLIVE, THAT'S THE REASON I CAME TO STUDY THESE FROGS. FROGS HAVE A SPECIAL GOOPY SALIVA, THAT'S THE LIQUID IN THEIR MOUTH, THAT MAKES THEIR TONGUE EXTRA STICKY. SO I'M TRYING TO INVENT A GLUE OR TAPE THAT'S STICKY, JUST LIKE THE FROG'S SALIVA!
Elinor says, OH, THAT IS SO INTERESTING!
Ari asks, I HAVE A QUESTION. HOW DOES THE FROG STICK ITS TONGUE OUT SO FAST?
Ari stick out his tongue.
(Grunting)
Elinor says, YEAH.
Elinor and Ari stick out their tongues.
(Giggling)
Elinor says, I CAN'T DO THAT.
(Fly buzzing)
The frog eats another fly.
Olive says, I THINK I SAW HOW IT DID IT! THE TONGUE WAS BENT BACKWARDS FIRST BEFORE IT CAME OUT OF THE FROG'S MOUTH.
Beatriz says, GREAT OBSERVATION, OLIVE. YOU'RE RIGHT, THE FROG BENDS ITS TONGUE BACK, AND THEN USES ITS MUSCLE TO THROW IT AT THE BUG.
Elinor says, WOW, NATURE REALLY IS FULL OF IDEAS.
Beatriz says, WELL, I GOT A LOT OF AMAZING OBSERVATIONS TODAY. BUT I DO WISH THERE WERE MORE FROGS.
Olive says, YEAH, RANGER RABBIT SAID THERE WOULD BE LOTS OF FROGS HERE.
Elinor says, I WONDER WHERE DID ALL THE FROGS GO? HMM, BEATRIZ, BACK IN ANIMAL TOWN, WE SAW A GREEN FROG THAT WAS LOST BECAUSE THE CREEK WAS REALLY DRY. BUT IT'S NOT DRY HERE. THE PLANTS SORT OF LOOK LIKE THEY'RE UNDER WATER.
Olive asks, COULD THAT BE THE PROBLEM? MAYBE THERE'S TOO MUCH WATER.
A flashback shows Olive’s nature book.
Olive says, MOST FROGS LIKE PLACES WITH JUST THE RIGHT AMOUNT OF WATER FOR THEM. THEY GET USED TO IT, AND IF IT CHANGES TOO QUICKLY, THEY DON'T LIKE IT.
Present-day Elinor stands by the water.
Elinor says, THAT'S IT! MAYBE THERE'S TOO MUCH WATER FOR THE FROGS, AND THAT'S WHY THEY'RE NOT HERE.
Ari says, YEAH, I WOULDN'T LIKE IT IF MY HOUSE FILLED UP WITH WATER. BUT THEN AGAIN, I'M NOT A FROG.
Beatriz says, HUH, YOU MIGHT BE RIGHT. IT LOOKS LIKE ALL THIS EXTRA WATER IS NEW, AND THAT WOULD EXPLAIN WHY THERE AREN'T ANY FROGS. BUT WHERE IS THE WATER COMING FROM?
Olive asks, COULD IT BE COMING FROM THE LAKE?
Beatriz says, HMM, BUT WHY?
Olive says, AWW, POOR FROGS. IF THIS IS THEIR HOME, THEN WHERE ARE THEY GOING TO GO?
Elinor says, HMM. WE HAVE TO HELP THE FROGS!
Olive and Ari say, YEAH!
Beatriz says, YOU'RE RIGHT, ELINOR. LET'S GO BACK TO THE LAKE AND SEE IF WE CAN FIGURE OUT WHERE ALL THIS WATER IS COMING FROM.
Beatriz and the others walk away.
(Frog croaking)
(Music playing)
Beatriz looks at the lake.
Beatriz says, OKAY, I THINK I KNOW WHAT'S HAPPENING. THERE'S TOO MUCH WATER IN THE LAKE AND SOME OF IT IS SPILLING OVER TO THE FROG BOG. THAT'S WHY THERE'S EXTRA WATER THERE, WHICH THE FROGS DO NOT LIKE.
Elinor says, YEAH, THE LAKE IS DEFINITELY TOO FULL.
Ari says, BUT WHY DOES THE LAKE HAVE TOO MUCH WATER?
Beatriz says, I DON'T KNOW.
Olive says, DUN-DUN-DUN! IT'S A MYSTERY! A WATERY MYSTERY.
Elinor says, MAYBE IT'S BEEN RAINING A LOT.
Beatriz says, GOOD SUGGESTION, BUT IT HASN'T RAINED HERE IN A WHILE.
Ari says, OH, I KNOW! MAYBE A GIANT IS POURING WATER INTO THE LAKE FROM A GIANT BUCKET.
(Laughing)
Beatriz says, ALSO A GOOD SUGGESTION, ARI, BUT DO YOU SEE ANY GIANTS?
Ari says, HMM, NO.
The children say, HMM...
Elinor says, I KNOW! LET'S OBSERVE THE LAKE AND SEE IF WE CAN FIGURE IT OUT.
Olive says, GREAT IDEA, ELINOR. I'LL DRAW THE LAKE IN MY NOTEBOOK.
Beatriz says, YES, WE NEED MORE OBSERVATIONS!
(Giggling)
Elinor says, HMM, I DON'T SEE ANYTHING THAT WOULD MAKE THE LAKE HAVE TOO MUCH WATER.
Ari says, ME NEITHER.
Olive says, AWW, NOT AGAIN.
Elinor asks, WHAT'S WRONG, OLIVE?
Olive says, I'M TRYING TO DRAW THE LAKE BUT IT KEEPS CHANGING.
Elinor says, HUH?
Olive points with her trunk.
Olive says, THOSE STICKS KEEP MOVING AND I HAVE TO START ALL OVER AGAIN.
Elinor says, WHOA, LOOK AT ALL THOSE STICKS FLOATING IN THE WATER!
Ari says, THEY ALL SEEM TO BE GOING THAT WAY.
Elinor says, THAT'S SO INTERESTING! I WONDER WHERE THEY'RE GOING.
Beatriz says, WHAT DO YOU THINK WE SHOULD DO?
Elinor says, LET'S FOLLOW THE STICKS! COME ON!
(Music playing)
Elinor and the others follow a river.
Elinor says, LOOK, I SEE MORE AND MORE STICKS FLOATING!
Ari asks, WHERE ARE THEY ALL COMING FROM?
Elinor says, HUH, THERE THEY GO. BUT WHERE ARE THEY GOING?
(Water trickling)
They watch sticks floating down the river.
Beatriz says, QUE ES ESO? HOLD ON, I HEAR SOMETHING.
Ari asks, IS IT THE GIANT?
Beatriz says, HMM, FOLLOW ME.
(Water trickling)
Beatriz says, HUH, I THOUGHT I HEARD WATER TRICKLING. IT'S TRYING TO GET THROUGH THOSE STICKS.
A pile of sticks blocks the river.
Elinor says, THAT'S WHERE ALL THE STICKS ARE GOING!
Olive says, YEAH, THEY'RE FLOATING DOWN THE LAKE AND GETTING STUCK ON THOSE ROCKS.
Ari says, LOOK AT THAT BIG PILE! IT'S STOPPING MOST OF THE WATER FROM GETTING THROUGH.
Elinor says, MAYBE THAT'S WHY THERE'S TOO MUCH WATER IN THE LAKE. THE STICKS ARE BLOCKING THE WATER FROM GOING INTO THE RIVER SO THE WATER STAYS IN THE LAKE.
Ari says, OH, JUST LIKE MY BATHTUB!
Olive asks, YOUR BATHTUB?
Ari says, YEAH! IF I PUT THE PLUG IN THE DRAIN, THE WATER CAN'T GET OUT AND THE TUB FILLS UP.
Olive says, OH, THE LAKE IS LIKE YOUR BATHTUB AND THIS RIVER IS LIKE THE DRAIN.
Beatriz says, FANTÁSTICO! I THINK YOU KIDS FIGURED IT OUT.
Beatriz looks at the map.
Beatriz says, OKAY. THERE'S WATER COMING INTO THE LAKE BUT THE STICKS ARE BLOCKING THE WATER FROM GOING OUT. SO THE WATER STAYS IN THE LAKE.
Elinor says, AND THAT'S WHY THERE'S TOO MUCH WATER IN THE LAKE.
Olive says, WHICH IS MAKING THE FROGS' HOME FILL UP WITH WATER.
Beatriz says, THAT COULD BE WHY THE CREEKS YOU SAW BEFORE ARE DRY. THE STICKS ARE BLOCKING THE WATER FROM GETTING TO THEM.
Elinor says, WE HAVE TO GET THE STICKS OUT!
Olive says, YEAH, THEY'RE CHANGING THE FROGS' HOME HERE AND IN ANIMAL TOWN.
Ari says, WE HAVE TO UN-STICK THE SITUATION.
(Giggling)
Beatriz says, I THINK I MIGHT KNOW WHERE THE STICKS ARE COMING FROM.
Beatriz takes out the walkie talkie.
Beatriz says, RANGER RABBIT, COME IN, RANGER RABBIT.
(Beeping)
Ranger Rabbit says, HI, BEATRIZ, IS EVERYTHING OKAY?
Beatriz says, EVERYTHING IS FINE, BUT THE KIDS AND I HAVE DISCOVERED A PROBLEM.
Ranger Rabbit asks, OH, WHAT IS IT?
Beatriz says, THERE ARE A LOT OF STICKS IN THE LAKE AND THEY'RE BLOCKING THE WATER FROM GOING TO THE RIVER.
Ranger Rabbit says, HMM, WELL, THAT WOULD EXPLAIN WHY THE CREEKS WERE DRY.
Beatriz says, YES, AND IT'S ALSO CAUSING THE FROG BOG TO FLOOD. RANGER RABBIT, DID YOU SAY YOU'RE MOVING A LOT OF STICKS FOR THE NEW ROAD?
Ranger Rabbit says, WHY, YES, BUT... OH, I SEE! THE STICKS ARE FALLING INTO THE RIVER AND FLOATING DOWN INTO THE LAKE! OKAY, WE'LL MOVE THE STICK PILE RIGHT AWAY. THAT SHOULD STOP ANYMORE STICKS FROM COMING DOWN TO BLOCK THE WATER.
Beatriz says, GREAT, THANK YOU, RANGER RABBIT.
(Beeping)
Beatriz says, OKAY, YOUR MOM IS GOING TO STOP ANYMORE STICKS FROM COMING TO THE LAKE.
Olive says, PHEW! BUT WHAT DO WE DO ABOUT THE STICKS THAT ARE ALREADY HERE?
Elinor says, WE NEED TO FIND A WAY TO GET THEM OUT SO THE WATER CAN GO THROUGH AGAIN.
Beatriz says, HMM, BUT HOW DO WE REACH THEM?
Ari says, I COULD FLY OVER AND PULL THEM.
Beatriz says, THANKS, ARI, BUT THAT MIGHT NOT BE SAFE.
Olive says, I HAVE AN IDEA! MAYBE YOU CAN USE YOUR INVENTION TO GET THE STICKS, BEATRIZ!
Beatriz says, YOU MEAN THE GRABBER? LET'S TRY IT!
Beatriz uncoils the grabber.
Elinor says, AW, IT'S TOO SHORT.
Beatriz says, THAT'S OKAY, NOT EVERY IDEA WORKS. WE JUST NEED TO KEEP TRYING.
Elinor says, HEY, I WONDER IF ASKING QUESTIONS CAN HELP! ASKING QUESTIONS IS GOOD FOR EXPLORING AND IS GOOD FOR GETTING IDEAS. MAYBE IT'S GOOD FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS TOO.
Beatriz says, YES! ASKING QUESTIONS IS VERY HELPFUL WHEN YOU'RE TRYING TO SOLVE A PROBLEM. LET'S DO IT! OKAY, THE FIRST QUESTION YOU SHOULD ASK IS, "WHAT'S THE PROBLEM?"
Olive says, HMM, I CAN DRAW IT IN MY NOTEBOOK. WE NEED TO MOVE THE STICKS. BUT WE'RE HERE, AND THE STICKS ARE WAY OVER THERE. IT'S TOO FAR FOR US TO REACH.
Beatriz says, THAT'S GREAT, OLIVE! IT ALWAYS HELPS TO DRAW THE PROBLEM. NOW THE NEXT STEP IS TO COME UP WITH IDEAS FOR SOLVING IT. WHAT CAN WE USE TO REACH THE STICKS?
Elinor says, WE COULD TRY TO BE LIKE THE FROG! THE FROG USED ITS TONGUE TO REACH THE BUGS THAT WERE FAR AWAY.
Olive says, YES!
Ari says, WHOA, WHOA, WHOA, WAIT. YOU THINK WE NEED TO USE OUR TONGUES TO GET THE STICKS?
Ari sticks out his tongue.
(Grunting)
(Laughing)
(Coughing)
Ari says, I AM NOT DOING THAT.
Olive says, I THINK ELINOR MEANS THAT WE NEED TO MAKE BEATRIZ'S INVENTION A LOT LONGER. JUST LIKE THE FROG'S TONGUE.
Beatriz says, AH-HAH, AN IDEA FROM NATURE! ME ENCANTA! I LOVE IT!
Elinor says, BUT HOW CAN WE MAKE YOUR GRABBER LONGER? WAIT, I KNOW! BEATRIZ, DO YOU STILL HAVE THOSE ROPES IN YOUR BACKPACK?
Beatriz says, I SURE DO!
Elinor says, MAYBE WE CAN USE A ROPE TO HELP THE GRABBER REACH THE STICKS.
Elinor ties a rope to the end of the grabber.
Ari says, NOW IT'S REALLY LONG, LIKE A FROG'S TONGUE.
Beatriz says, FANTÁSTICO! LET'S SEE HOW IT WORKS. UNO, DOS, TRES!
Beatriz holds onto the rope and throws the grabber.
Olive says, AWW, IT STILL DOESN'T REACH! I REALLY THOUGHT THAT WAS GOING TO WORK.
Ari says, ME TOO.
Elinor says, WE CAN'T GIVE UP THE FROGS NEED OUR HELP! LET'S KEEP TRYING.
Beatriz says, ELINOR IS RIGHT, LET'S KEEP TRYING.
Elinor asks, WHAT OTHER QUESTION CAN WE ASK?
Ari says, WE COULD ASK HOW THE FROG DOES IT. HOW DOES IT GET ITS TONGUE SO FAR OUT?
Beatriz says, THAT'S IT, ARI! TO LEARN FROM NATURE, IT'S IMPORTANT TO ASK HOW AND WHY SOMETHING DOES THE THING IT DOES.
Olive says, WAIT, I HAVE MY DRAWING. THE FROG BENT ITS TONGUE BACK, AND THEN THE TONGUE WENT FLYING OUT.
Elinor asks, HOW CAN WE DO THAT?
Ari says, HMM, GOOD QUESTION-- WHOA!
Ari leans against a small tree, it bends back and knocks him forward.
Elinor says, DID YOU SEE THAT? THE TREE BENT BACK AND PUSHED ARI UP INTO THE AIR!
Olive says, JUST LIKE THE FROG'S TONGUE! MAYBE WE CAN USE THE TREE TO THROW OUR GRABBER TO THE STICKS.
Beatriz says, AH, IT'S A NATURE-INSPIRED INVENTION.
Beatriz ties the end of the rope to the tree.
Beatriz says, OKAY. EVERYONE, HELP ME PULL.
(Grunting)
They all pull back on the tree. It flings the grabber through the air. It lands on the pile of sticks.
Elinor says, YES, IT WORKED!
(Giggling)
They all pull on the rope.
(Grunting)
Ari says, WE HAVE TO PULL HARDER!
They pull and the grabber pulls a stick.
Olive says, IT CAME LOOSE! YAY!
Elinor says, AWESOME! LET'S PULL ANOTHER STICK.
Beatriz reels the grabber back. She sets it on the tree, and they all pull.
(Grunting)
The grabber lands on the stick pile.
(Grunting)
They pull a bunch of sticks loose from the pile and a trickle of water pours out. The trickle widens and the pile begins to break apart.
Elinor says, ALL THE STICKS ARE FALLING DOWN!
Olive says, AND THE WATER IS GETTING THROUGH!
(Cheering)
Elinor says, WE SHOULD TELL MY MOM.
Beatriz says, YES! RANGER RABBIT, COME IN, RANGER RABBIT.
Ranger Rabbit says, HI, BEATRIZ, HOW IS IT GOING DOWN THERE?
Beatriz says, TOGETHER WITH MY SUPER TEAM OF INVENTORS, WE MOVED THE STICKS AND THE WATER IS FLOWING AGAIN.
Ranger Rabbit says, WOW, HOW DID YOU DO IT?
Elinor says, WE DID IT BY ASKING QUESTIONS! QUESTIONS ARE GOOD FOR EXPLORING, FOR GETTING IDEAS, AND FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS!
Beatriz says, AND WHERE DID WE GET ALL THESE GREAT IDEAS?
All say, FROM NATURE!
Ranger Rabbit says, THAT'S AMAZING! I CAN'T WAIT TO HEAR ABOUT IT TONIGHT. I'LL HELP DEPUTY MOUSE FINISH UP HERE AND I'LL MEET YOU BACK AT THE CAMPSITE.
Beatriz says, ROGER THAT, RANGER RABBIT. SEE YOU TONIGHT.
Elinor says, BYE, MOM!
Ari says, WE DID IT!
Olive shouts, YEAH!
Beatriz says, YEP, YOU ALL ASKED SUCH GREAT QUESTIONS, AND THAT HELPED US COME UP WITH IDEAS AND SOLUTIONS. I AM SO PROUD OF YOU!
Olive says, I THINK THERE'S LESS WATER IN THE LAKE NOW.
Elinor says, THE FROGS! COME ON, LET'S GO CHECK ON THEM.
Olive and Ari say, YEAH! OKAY!
(Music playing)
Elinor and the others walk to the frog bog.
Elinor says, LOOK, NOW YOU CAN SEE MORE OF THE PLANTS.
Olive says, YEAH, IT LOOKS LIKE IT HAS JUST THE RIGHT AMOUNT OF WATER.
(Frog croaking)
A frog hops into the water.
(Gasping)
Another frog hops over.
Ari says, WE DID IT, THE FROGS ARE COMING BACK!
More frogs jump into the water.
Elinor says, WELCOME HOME, FROGGIES. WOW, I CAN'T BELIEVE THOSE STICKS MADE SUCH A BIG CHANGE.
Beatriz says, IT'S TRUE, WHEN SOMETHING HAPPENS IN ONE PLACE, IT CAN CHANGE THINGS FOR PLANTS AND ANIMALS IN OTHER PLACES. EVERYTHING IS CONNECTED IN NATURE, EVEN US.
Olive says, AH!
Beatriz says, THAT'S WHY WE NEED TO HELP NATURE WHENEVER WE CAN. ESPECIALLY WHEN WE'RE THE ONES THAT CAUSED THE CHANGE. COME ON, LET'S GET BACK TO THE CAMPSITE.
The children say, OKAY! YEAH!
(Music playing)
The sun is setting as Beatriz leads the children back to the campsite. Ranger Rabbit walks to the campsite and Elinor runs and hugs her.
(Giggling)
The sky darkens and a shooting star streaks across the night sky.
(Music playing)
It is daytime.
(Birds chirping)
The tents are packed up.
Ranger Rabbit says, ALL RIGHT, I THINK WE'RE READY TO GO.
Elinor asks, WHERE ARE YOU GOING NOW, BEATRIZ?
Beatriz says, WHEREVER NATURE TAKES ME! I JUST ASK QUESTIONS AND EXPLORE.
Ranger Rabbit says, KIDS, I THINK THIS MIGHT BE A GOOD TIME TO SAY GOODBYE TO BEATRIZ.
Beatriz says, WELL, I HAD A LOT OF FUN EXPLORING WITH ALL OF YOU. IT WAS GREAT TO MEET YOU, ARI.
Ari says, YEAH, ME TOO. OOH, I HAVE AN IDEA FOR A NEW INVENTION!
Beatriz asks, WHAT IS IT?
Ari says, PICKLES WITH MARSHMALLOWS.
Beatriz says, OH... LET ME KNOW HOW THAT TURNS OUT. AND IT WAS SO NICE TO MEET YOU TOO, OLIVE. DID YOU FINISH YOUR DRAWING OF THE LAKE?
Olive says, SURE DID! LOOK. AND THAT'S US EXPLORING.
Beatriz says, QUE BELLO! IT'S BEAUTIFUL.
Elinor says, THAT'S AMAZING, OLIVE.
Beatriz says, I HOPE YOU TWO KEEP HAVING INTERESTING IDEAS AND KEEP DRAWING.
Ari says, WE WILL!
Beatriz says, AND IT WAS REALLY SPECIAL TO SEE YOU, ELINOR. AW, YOU'RE SO GROWN UP! I HOPE YOU HAD FUN ON THIS TRIP.
(Giggling)
Elinor says, YES, I LEARNED SO MUCH! ESPECIALLY ABOUT ASKING QUESTIONS.
Beatriz says, WELL, I HOPE YOU NEVER STOP WONDERING. IT'S ALWAYS GOOD TO LISTEN TO THAT LITTLE VOICE INSIDE ALL OF US THAT WANTS TO KNOW WHY THINGS HAPPEN AND HOW THINGS WORK.
Elinor says, WE ALL HAVE A LITTLE BIT OF WONDER INSIDE.
Beatriz says, WE SURE DO, SO NEVER STOP ASKING QUESTIONS. WHO KNOWS, MAYBE YOU'LL GROW UP TO BE A SCIENTIST. OR A RANGER, LIKE YOUR MOM.
Elinor says, OR AN INVENTOR, LIKE YOU!
Beatriz says, YOU CAN BE ANYTHING YOU SET YOUR CURIOUS MIND TO, ELINOR. THAT'S FOR SURE.
Beatriz and Elinor hug.
(Music playing)
Beatriz walks away.
The others call, BYE, BEATRIZ! BYE!
Ari says, GOOD LUCK ON YOUR NEXT INVENTION!
Beatriz says, ADIOS, SEE YOU!
Ari says, REMEMBER, PICKLES AND MARSHMALLOWS!
Elinor says, SEE YOU LATER! GOODBYE, BEATRIZ.
Ranger Rabbit asks, DID YOU HAVE FUN, ELINOR?
Elinor says, I SURE DID, MOM! I LEARNED THAT ASKING QUESTIONS IS GOOD FOR LOTS OF THINGS! IT'S GOOD FOR EXPLORING, FOR GETTING IDEAS, AND IT'S GOOD FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS!
Ranger Rabbit says, YES, ASKING QUESTIONS IS WONDERFUL.
(Music playing)
The children singing, THE WORLD IS FULL OF THINGS FOR US TO DISCOVER. ALL YOU NEED IS A LITTLE WONDER SO LISTEN TO THAT VOICE THAT YOU HAVE INSIDE. ASK QUESTIONS, LET THEM BE YOUR GUIDE.
Elinor singing, QUESTIONS HELP YOU EXPLORE AND FIND THINGS THAT ARE NEW.
Ari singing, WHO KNOWS WHAT YOU'LL LEARN OR WHAT YOU'LL GET TO DO.
Elinor says, YOU MIGHT FIND WONDERS OR MAKE A NEW FRIEND.
All singing, IT ALL STARTS BY ASKING WHAT'S AROUND THE BEND. THE WORLD IS FULL OF THINGS FOR US TO DISCOVER. ALL YOU NEED IS A LITTLE WONDER. SO LISTEN TO THAT VOICE THAT YOU HAVE INSIDE. ASK QUESTIONS, LET THEM BE YOUR GUIDE.
Olive singing, WHAT'S A PROBOSCIS, WHAT DO FROG TONGUES DO?
Ari singing, YOU JUST ASK AND THEN YOU WILL FIND OUT TOO.
Elinor singing, AND THE BEST PART OF WONDERING—
Ari singing, --IS THAT MOMENT WHEN YOU GASP.
(Gasping)
All singing, AND SEE YOU'VE SOLVED THE PROBLEM WITH THE QUESTIONS THAT YOU HAVE. THE WORLD IS FULL OF THINGS FOR US TO DISCOVER. ALL YOU NEED IS A LITTLE WONDER. SO LISTEN TO THAT VOICE THAT YOU HAVE INSIDE. ASK QUESTIONS, LET THEM BE YOUR GUIDE.
Elinor and the others walk back to her house. Ari hugs Mr. Bat and Olive hugs Mrs. Elephant. Elinor and Ranger Rabbit hug Mr. Rabbit.
Ari says, BYE!
Olive says, THAT WAS FUN!
Mr. Rabbit says, GOODNIGHT, EVERYONE.
Elinor calls, SEE YOU LATER!
Elinor and her parents go into the house.
(Music playing)
A full moon hangs in the night sky above the house.
It is daytime and Elinor crouches by a creek, looking at a frog.
(Croaking)
(Fly buzzing)
The frog eats a fly.
(Gasping)
(Giggling)
Olive says, HI, ELINOR. WHAT ARE YOU DOING?
Ari says, LET ME GUESS, ARE YOU WONDERING ABOUT SOMETHING?
Elinor says, YES, I AM! I WONDER WHY DO FROGS LIKE TO HOP?
Ari asks, WHAT DO YOU MEAN?
Elinor says, THEY HAVE REALLY LONG LEGS. WHY DON'T THEY JUST WALK?
Olive says, I DON'T KNOW, MAYBE BECAUSE THEY DON'T HAVE SHOES?
Elinor says, OR MAYBE BECAUSE HOPPING IS JUST MORE FUN.
Elinor hops.
(Giggling)
Ari and Olive hop after her.
(Laughing)
Olive says, I KNOW, LET'S OBSERVE THEM AND SEE IF WE CAN FIGURE THIS OUT.
Elinor says, YES, WE NEED MORE OBSERVATIONS! SALTA, RANITA, SALTA!
(Giggling)
Elinor and the others look at the frogs.
(Music playing)
Mr. Raccoon reads a book while eating a doughnut.
(Munching)
Mr. Raccoon says, SO THAT'S WHY DONUTS HAVE HOLES! HUH. MMM-MM.
(Music playing)
