An animated sun shines. Mandisa waves from beside a tree. Mandisa has black hair held back with a headband and wears denim overalls over a peach t-shirt.

An animated bird and ladybug move around Mandisa. Mandisa holds a crafted rabbit and a colourful monster made from a tissue box.

A title reads: Curious Crafting

(Cheerful upbeat music)

Mandisa sits at a low table with two children. They all wave on hand in the air.

Mandisa and the children say, WOO. WOO. WOO.

Mandisa asks, WHAT OTHER ANIMALS LIVE IN THE JUNGLE?

Both children say, MONKEY!

Mandisa says, THAT'S RIGHT.

Mandisa holds up a monkey crafted out of brown construction paper.

(Monkey call)

Mandisa asks, WOULD YOU LIKE TO CRAFT A MONKEY PAL?

Both children say, YEAH!

Mandisa says, OKAY LET'S GET OUR SUPPLIES.

(Upbeat music)

Mandisa and the children get up from the table and walk to a craft room. They gather supplies. The items appear on a table.

Mandisa narrates, YOU'LL NEED SCISSORS AND CONSTRUCTION PAPER, BLACK AND WHITE CONSTRUCTION PAPER, A GLUE STICK, AND A PENCIL.

Mandisa and the children are back at the low table.

Mandisa says, FIRST STEP IS TO TRACE AND CUT OUT THE HEAD AND BODY OF THE MONKEY. I MADE A TEMPLATE OF THE BODY AND A CIRCLE FOR THE HEAD. TRACE THAT ON SOME BROWN PAPER.

The children use pencils to trace.

Mandisa continues, WHILE YOU GUYS DO THAT, I WILL CUT OUT STRIPS FOR THE ARMS, LEGS, AND TAIL. KATIE, WHAT DO YOU LIKE ABOUT MONKEYS?

Katie has medium-length brown hair and wears a red top.

Katie says, THAT THEY GO OOH OOH AH AH.

The other child has short black hair and wears a light blue cardigan.

The black-haired child says, IT'S LIKE, BECAUSE THEY'RE KIND OF FUNNY AND SILLY.

The children hold up pieces of brown paper.

Mandisa says, LOOKING GOOD. LET'S CUT OUT OUR MONKEYS MOUTH.

(Upbeat music)

The black-haired child says, DONE.

Mandisa says, AND HERE ARE THE EARS, HANDS AND FEET.

Mandisa puts small ovals of paper on the table.

Mandisa asks, WHAT DO MONKEYS LIKE TO EAT?

Both children say, BANANAS.

Mandisa says, I HAVE SOME YELLOW CONSTRUCTION PAPER AND A BANANA TEMPLATE.

The children trace the shape of a banana on yellow paper.

The black-haired child says, THAT'S GONNA BE EASY. THIS IS A BANANA.

(Upbeat music)

The children use safety scissor to cut out the banana shapes.

Mandisa says, LET'S GLUE OUR MONKEYS' HEAD TO ITS BODY.

The children use glue sticks.

Mandisa says, GLUE YOUR MOUTH TO YOUR MONKEY'S HEAD.

Katie says, WHOA.

Mandisa says, RIGHT AT THE BOTTOM.

Katie says, GOOD.

Mandisa asks, CAN YOUR MONKEYS SEE?

The black-haired child says, NO.

Mandisa asks, WHAT SHOULD WE ADD?

Both children cry, EYES!

Mandisa says, YOU CAN GLUE THE BLACK CIRCLES TO THE WHITE CIRCLES TO MAKE AN EYE.

Katie says, I'LL JUST DO THE…

The black-haired child says, PUT IT THROUGH THE EYE.

The children glue eyes onto the brown paper oval.

Mandisa says, THE NEXT STEP IS TO MAKE THE…

She holds up the completed monkey.

The black-haired child says, LEG.

Mandisa says, AND THE…

The black-haired child says, THE ARM.

Mandisa says, WE'RE GONNA TAKE A STRIP AND WE'RE GONNA FOLD IT BACK AND FORTH LIKE THAT. YEAH, THAT'S RIGHT. AND KEEP GOING ALL THE WAY TO THE END.

The children fold long strips of brown paper accordion-style.

The black-haired child says, AND I'M DONE WITH THE LEG.

Mandisa says, GOOD.

Katie says, TA-DA!

Mandisa says, NOW IT'S TIME TO GLUE THEM TO OUR MONKEY'S BODY. GLUE THEM ON THE BACK.

Katie holds up her monkey.

Katie says, LEGS. MONKEY. HEY. IT'S STUCK.

Mandisa says, TIME FOR THE TAIL.

The black-haired child says, YAY!

Mandisa says, TO GIVE OUR MONKEYS TAIL A LITTLE CURL WRAP THE PAPER AROUND A PENCIL. CAN YOU TRY THAT?

Katie says, THAT'S GONNA BE EASY 'CAUSE I DID THAT A LOT OF TIMES.

The black-haired child says, IT'S GONNA BE EASY. I'M JUST GONNA DO A LITTLE.

The children curl the tails around pencils.

(Upbeat guitar music)

Katie says, MONKEY.

Mandisa says, LET'S ATTACH THE FEET AND HANDS. THAT'S GONNA BE YOUR FEET AND YOUR HANDS.

(Monkey sounds)

The children use their glue sticks.

Katie says, DONE.

Mandisa says, LET'S DRAW ON THE MONKEY'S…

Mandisa points to the monkey’s face.

Katie says, MOUTH.

Mandisa says, HERE ARE SOME MARKERS. DRAW YOUR MONKEY'S SMILE AND NOSE.

(Upbeat music)

The children use black markers.

Katie says, MINE'S SO CUTE.

Mandisa says, NOW YOU CAN GIVE YOUR BANANA SOME DETAILS LIKE A LINE AND SOME DOTS.

The black-haired child uses the marker to add black spots to a paper banana.

Mandisa says, LET'S GLUE ON THE BANANAS. NOW YOU CAN GLUE YOUR MONKEY'S HANDS TO THE FACE.

The children glue the monkeys. Mandisa helps Katie.

Mandisa says, GOOD. YOU CAN DO IT RIGHT THERE. YEAH.

The black-haired child says, ALMOST DONE. AND ONE MORE.

Mandisa says, I THINK WE HAVE THREE MONKEYS WHO ARE READY TO PLAY.

The black-haired child says, YEAH!

Mandisa and the children dance the monkeys over the table.

Mandisa says, OKAY.

(Children laughing)

Katie says, YEAH. I'M HERE TO PLAY MONKEY.

Mandisa asks in a squeaky voice, HI. WHAT'S YOUR NAME?

The black-haired child says, MY NAME IS DUMPY.
