A child’s voice cries, WHEE!

(Giggling)

(Music playing)

An animated sun shines. Mandisa waves from beside a tree. Mandisa has black hair held back with a headband and wears denim overalls over a peach t-shirt.

An animated bird and ladybug move around Mandisa. Mandisa holds a crafted rabbit and a colourful monster made from a tissue box.

A title reads: Curious Crafting

(Cheerful upbeat music)

Mandisa sits at low white table with two children. She wears a blue t-shirt under overalls and holds a marble over a tall plastic structure.

Both children say, THREE, TWO, ONE!

Mandisa drops the marble, and it rolls over bridges and down three levels to land in a red plastic container.

(Ball clacking)

(Upbeat music continues)

(Bell dinging)

All cry, YAY!

The children raise their arms. They both have medium-length brown hair. One child wears a pink shirt and the other a red shirt with black stripes.

The child in the red shirt says, I WANT A TURN.

The child in the pink shirt says, ME TOO.

Mandisa asks, HOW ABOUT YOU CRAFT YOUR OWN MARBLE RUN?

(Sparkling chimes)

Mandisa puts a craft project made out of upright cardboard tubes on the table.

Mandisa continues, THEN YOU CAN HAVE AS MANY TURNS AS YOU LIKE, ANYTIME.

The child in the red shirt says, SO COOL.

Mandisa says, LET'S GET WHAT WE NEED.

(Music playing)

Mandisa and the children get up from the table. They walk to a craft room and gather supplies. Items appear on a table.

Mandisa narrates, WE'RE GOING TO NEED CARDBOARD TUBES AND MARBLES. CARDBOARD, PAPER PLATES, WHITE CARD STOCK, COLORFUL MASKING TAPE AND WASHI TAPE, BOTTLE CAPS AND LARGE LIDS FROM A JAR.

(Paintbrush swiping)

Mandisa and the children sit at the low table. It is filled with craft supplies.

Mandisa says, OKAY, SO THE FIRST THING WE'RE GONNA DO IS CREATE THE STRUCTURE OF OUR MARBLE RUN. TO HELP OUR CARDBOARD TUBE STAND UPRIGHT, WE'RE GONNA CUT SOME TABS ON THE BOTTOM.

(Music playing)

The children use safety scissors to cut the cardboard tubes. They fold the tabs outward.

Mandisa asks, WHAT DO YOU THINK WE NEED THESE PAPER PLATES FOR?

The child in the pink shirt says, TO MAKE...

The child in the red shirt says, MAKE THE SLIDE.

Mandisa says, WE'RE GONNA CUT THE CURLY PART OF THE PLATE OUT.

(Scissors cutting softly)

The children cut out the raised edge of the paper plates.

Mandisa says, OKAY, THE LAST THING WE NEED TO CUT ARE THESE SLIDES. WE'RE GONNA CUT THE ROLL LENGTHWISE. SO ONE CUT ALONG HERE, AND THEN ONE CUT ALONG THERE.

(Music playing)

The children cut small cardboard tubes so that they become open slides.

Mandisa says, I HAVE SOME SPARKLY WASHI TAPE AND SOME PAINT STICKS TO MAKE OUR TUBES NICE AND COLOURFUL.

(Music playing)

The children decorate the tubes.

Mandisa says, AND WE'RE GONNA USE A PIECE OF CARDBOARD FOR OUR BASE. GRAB YOUR LARGEST CARDBOARD TUBE FIRST, AND WE WILL TAPE THAT DOWN USING THOSE TABS THAT WE CUT UP.

Mandisa helps the children tape the tubes to a sheet of cardboard.

Mandisa says, TO HELP OUR PAPER PLATE STAY ON TOP OF OUR TUBES, I CUT OUT SOME LITTLE CIRCLES FROM PAPER AND WE'RE GONNA USE SOME TAPE TO STICK THEM ON TOP OF OUR CARDBOARD TUBES. NOW IT'S TIME TO ADD OUR SPIRAL PAPER PLATE. WE'RE GONNA USE SOME TAPE TO SECURE THAT ONTO OUR TUBES. USE THE CARDBOARD TUBES THAT WE CUT IN HALF TO ADD SOME MORE LENGTH SO WE CAN REACH THIS LAST TUBE.

The child in the pink shirt reaches for purple tape.

The child in the pink shirt says, PURPLE, PURPLE, PURPLE.

Mandisa says, SO WE'RE GONNA ADD A BIT OF AN OBSTACLE FOR OUR MARBLE, A COUPLE OF PLASTIC LIDS AND THEN ONE SMALLER BOTTLE CAP THAT I GLUED IN THE MIDDLE. WE ARE GOING TO TAPE THAT TO THE LAST CARDBOARD TUBE. AND THE LAST PART OF OUR MARBLE COURSE WILL BE THIS LONG SLIDE TO THE END. AND WE'LL USE A PIECE OF TAPE TO SECURE IT, JUST UNDERNEATH THAT HOLE THAT YOU MADE. OKAY, WE NEED ONE MORE THING FOR OUR MARBLE.

The child in the pink shirt says, CIRCLE, CIRCLE, CIRCLE.

Mandisa says, THAT'S RIGHT, ABBEY. WE NEED SOMETHING TO CATCH OUR MARBLES. AND I HAVE THESE PLASTIC LIDS.

The children put the lids at the bottom of the slides.

Mandisa says, THERE YOU GO, SLIDE, SO YOUR MARBLE WILL FALL RIGHT INTO THERE. SHOULD WE DO OUR FIRST TEST?

The child in the red shirt says, YEAH.

Mandisa says, OKAY!

The child in the red shirt drops a marble onto a slide. It rolls off.

Mandisa asks, OKAY, SO WHAT HAPPENED THERE, EMERSON?

Emerson says, IT SLID OFF.

Mandisa says, THAT'S RIGHT, SO WE'RE GONNA NEED SOMETHING HERE TO KEEP IT FROM SLIDING OFF. THAT'S WHAT THESE ARE FOR.

Mandisa holds up a cut tube.

Mandisa says, SO CAN YOU TAPE ONE RIGHT HERE?

Emerson tapes the cut tube along the slide.

Mandisa says, OKAY, AND THEN WE CAN PLACE THAT THERE.

(Music playing)

The marble rolls along the slide and into the plastic lid at the bottom.

(Marble clacking)

Mandisa says, WOOHOO, GOOD JOB!

Emerson says, WOO HOO!

Abbey rolls a marble on her slide.

Mandisa says, WOOHOO, IT WORKS!

Abbey says, WOW!

Mandisa says, ALL RIGHT, LET'S TRY AGAIN.

The children put more marbles on their crafts.

Mandisa says, OH, WOW, LOOK AT THAT ONE. OH, IT STOPPED. OH, IT PUSHED IT DOWN. THAT WAS GOOD.

(Cheerful upbeat music)
