Text reads, “TVOkids” and “Riverbank Pictures” “Original.”

[Child giggles]

Text reads, “TVO Presents.”

[Happy music plays]

Mandisa wears her long black hair pulled away from her face. She smiles as she holds up a cardboard robot and a rabbit craft. Text above her reads, “Curious Crafting.”

[Boing]

Mandisa sits at a large white oval table. She wears overalls over a blue tee-shirt and wears a magenta headband. To her right sits a girl with long wavy brown hair. The girl wears a long-sleeved teal shirt and blue skirt. To Mandisa’s left sits a boy with short black hair. He wears a red turtleneck. Each of the children holds a potted plant.

[Upbeat music plays]

Mandisa says, THANK YOU FOR BRINGING
PLANS TO CELEBRATE EARTH DAY.

IT LOOKS LIKE WE COULD USE A
FUN PLANTER TO PUT THEM IN.

IF YOU COULD CRAFT A PLANTER,
WHAT SHAPE WOULD YOU PICK?

Mandisa puts two planters on the table. One resembles a white cat with green eyes. The other planter is a light blue dinosaur with googly eyes and green and dark blue buttons for spots.

[Meow]

The boy and girl point at the dinosaur.

The boy says, I WANT THIS ONE.

Mandisa says, LET'S ALL MAKE
DINOSAUR PLANTERS.

The children cheer, YAY.

Mandisa says, LET'S GET THE
SUPPLIES THAT WE NEED.

The children gather supplies and put them on a rectangular table.

[Upbeat music continues]

Mandisa narrates, YOU'RE GOING
TO NEED A HOUSE PLANT AND
LARGE PLASTIC BOTTLE, GRAVEL
AND POTTING SOIL, A TROWEL,
MARKERS, COLORFUL BUTTONS
AND GOOGLY EYES, CRAFT GLUE,
PAINT AND FOAM BRUSHES.

[Scratching]

Mandisa sits with the girl standing to her right and the boy standing to her left. Three blue plates are side by side on a long table in front of them.

Mandisa says, LET'S START THINGS
OFF IN THE PAINT ZONE.

THE FIRST STEP TO MAKE
OUR DINOSAUR PLANTERS
IS TO CUT OUT THE SHAPE.

DO YOU WANNA GRAB
YOUR LARGE POP BOTTLE?

NOW I HAVE TWO DRY
ERASE MARKERS HERE.

YOU DRAW THE SHAPE OF A
DINOSAUR NECK ONTO YOUR BOTTLE.

The boy says, OKAY.

The girl says, I'LL DO IT RIGHT HERE.

The boy and girl draw on the side of two-litre plastic bottles.

Mandisa says, I'M GONNA CAREFULLY
CUT OUT YOUR DINOSAUR SHAPE
WITH A CRAFT KNIFE.

The girl says, THAT MIGHT BE HARD, MAYBE.

The boy says, MAKING IT A LITTLE BIT LONGER?

Mandisa says, NOW I'M
GONNA CUT THE BODY OUT.

The boy says, MAKING A LOT OF NOISE.

The girl suggests, WATCH
OUT FOR THAT PART.

Mandisa says, HERE'S YOUR DINOSAUR, DAVID.

David, the boy, says, WOW.

Mandisa says, WELL, HERE'S YOUR
DINOSAUR, KATIE.

Katie, the girl, says, COOL.

Katie puts her bottle on the table.

[Clunk]

Mandisa says, NOW WE CAN PAINT
OUR DINOSAURS.

David and Katie cheer, YAY.

Katie and David paint their dinosaurs pale blue.

[Upbeat music continues]

David says, LOOK AT ME. I'M PAINTING
ALL OF THE BODY OF HIM.

[Animated scissors snip]

Mandisa carries the painted dinosaurs to the round table. Katie and David sit with their plants in front of them.

Mandisa says, THESE ARE ALL DRY.
LET'S TURN THEM INTO DINOSAURS
BY ADDING GOOGLY EYES
AND BUTTONS.

[Upbeat music continues]

David and Katie glue googly eyes on their dinosaurs.

David asks, DOES IT LOOK FUNNY
LIKE I DO THAT?

Mandisa says, OH, I THINK IT'LL
BE A REALLY UNIQUE
LOOKING DINOSAUR.

Katie says, IT'S GONNA BE SO CUTE
WITH THESE LITTLE EYES.

[David laughs]

Katie puts down a glue bottle.

[Clunk]

Katie says, I LIKE TO DO BIG SLOPS
BECAUSE THE BUTTON'S VERY BIG.

David and Katie glue buttons on their dinosaur planters.

Mandisa says, GREAT JOB DECORATING.
LET'S GET PLANTING.

David says, YEAH.

Mandisa says, SO THE FIRST THING
WE'RE GONNA ADD IS SOME GRAVEL
FOR DRAINAGE.

THE ROCKS ARE TO HELP THE
WATER DRAIN DOWN TO THE BOTTOM
OF YOUR PLANTER SO IT DOESN'T
AFFECT YOUR PLANT'S ROOTS.

Katie and David put handfuls of gravel into their planters.

[Rocks clatter]

Katie says, IT'S NOT SO MUCH.

Mandisa says, GRAB THAT HANDFUL.

[Rocks clatter, upbeat music continues]

Mandisa says, YOU WANNA COVER
ALL THE BOTTOM OF YOUR PLANT.

NEXT WE'RE GONNA ADD SOME SOIL.
WE HAVE SOME SPADES FOR
YOU TO PUT YOUR SOIL IN.

David says, EACH AT A TIME.

Katie says, WE'RE GONNA NEED
A LOT LIKE MAYBE IT'S GONNA
GO UP TO RIGHT HERE.

David says, NOT TOO MUCH. LIKE A LITTLE.

Mandisa says, JUST A LITTLE BIT.

Katie says, NOT LIKE ALL THE WAY
UP, SO IT LIKE DUMPS OVER.

Katie misses the planter and pours soil on the white table.

Katie says, OH NO. THAT WAS WRONG.

David says, I'M GONNA PUT A
BUNCH, BUNCH, A LOT OF BUNCH.

Mandisa says, ADD LOTS OF SOIL
SO OUR PLANTS CAN GROW NICE
AND BIG.

NOW IT'S TIME TO ADD OUR PLANTS.

David cheers, YEAH.

Katie asks, ARE WE TAKING IT FROM THERE?

Mandisa says, YEAH, SO YOU’RE
GONNA GENTLY HOLD IT.

David and Katie put their plants in the dinosaur planters.

Mandisa asks, OKAY, WHAT ARE
OUR DINOSAURS MISSING?

David says, THEY'RE MISSING A MOUTH.

Mandisa says, THAT'S RIGHT.
I'VE GOT A MARKER HERE.

YOU CAN DRAW ON A LITTLE
MOUTH FOR YOUR DINOSAUR.

Katie says, THANK YOU.

Katie and David draw mouths on their dinosaurs.

[Upbeat music continues]

Mandisa says, MY DINOSAUR SAYS ROAR.

Katie says, ROAR, ROAR, ROAR.

David says, MINE SAYS HELLO.

[David speaks a different language]

Everyone says, ROAR. ROAR.

[Upbeat music plays]
