[Upbeat music plays]

Text reads, “TVOkids” and “Riverbank Pictures” “Original.”

[Child giggles, pop]

Text reads, “TVO Presents.”

[Happy music plays]

Mandisa wears her long black hair pulled away from her face. She wears light blue denim overalls over a sleeveless peach shirt. She smiles as she holds up a cardboard monster and an upside down drinking cup rabbit. Text above her reads, “Curious Crafting.”

[Boing]

Mandisa sits at a white oval table. To her right sits a boy with short, spiky brown hair. The boy wears a mustard yellow long-sleeve shirt. A girl sitting on Mandisa’s left wears a long-sleeve blue shirt. Her long brown hair is in pigtails. Mandisa puts a dog mad of a foam cup, shiny can and cardboard wheels on the table in front of her.

[Cheerful music plays]

Mandisa says, I WANT YOU TO MEET
MY FRIEND, DOUGIE THE DOG.
SAY "HI DOUGIE."

The boy says, HI, DOUGIE.

The girl says, IT'S SO CUTE.

The boy asks, CAN YOU TAKE HIM FOR A WALK?

Mandisa says, I CAN. YOU WANNA SEE? WATCH.

Mandisa pulls on yarn attached to the can and pulls Dougie forward.

Mandisa says, DO YOU WANNA CRAFT
A LITTLE DOGGY FRIEND LIKE THIS?

Both children say, YES.

Mandisa says, OKAY, LET'S GET OUR SUPPLIES.

The boy says, OKAY, LET'S DO IT.

The children gather supplies and place them on a white square table. As Mandisa lists the supplies, they appear on the table.

[Cheerful music plays]

Mandisa says, YOU'RE GOING TO NEED
A TIN CAN AND YARN, GOOGLY EYES
CARDBOARD AND CARD STOCK, POMPOMS,
DOT STICKERS AND CONSTRUCTION
PAPER, AND MASKING TAPE.

An animated brush moves up and down. Soon, Mandisa and the children sit at the table with their supplies on the square table.

[Scratching, cheerful music plays]

Mandisa says, SO THE FIRST STEP
IS TO MAKE THE WHEEL AND
AXLE OF YOUR PULL PUPPY.

CAN YOU TAKE FOUR
CARDBOARD CIRCLES?

SO YOU CAN TAKE YOUR GLUE STICK
AND GLUE YOUR COLORED CIRCLES
ONTO YOUR CARDBOARD CIRCLE.

The children glue yellow circles onto cardboard circles.

Mandisa says, NOW WE'RE GONNA
NEED TWO WOODEN DOWELS
AND TWO STRAWS.

TAKE YOUR WOODEN DOWEL.
PUT A WHEEL ON ONE END, RIGHT,
AND THEN PUT THE STRAW ON.

The boy says, TOGETHER.

Mandisa says, PUT ANOTHER
WHEEL ON THE OTHER END.

The children put the wheels on the dowels.

The boy says, YES.

Mandisa says, GOOD JOB.

AND TO HELP YOUR WHEEL STAY ON,
I HAVE LITTLE ELASTIC BANDS
THAT WE WILL TIE AROUND THE END.

[Cheerful music continues]

Mandisa says, NOW WE'RE GONNA
ATTACH OUR WHEEL AND AXLE
TO OUR PUPPY'S BODY, AND DO
YOU KNOW WHAT WE'RE GONNA
USE FOR THE PUPPY'S BODY?

The boy says, THE TIN CAN.

The girl says, A CAN.

The girl puts her can on the table in front of her and it tips over.

[Clanking]

Mandisa says, THAT'S RIGHT.

AND TO ATTACH OUR WHEEL AND AXLE,
WE'RE GONNA USE SOME DUCT TAPE.

PUT YOUR WHEEL ON RIGHT THERE.

Mandisa holds the can still for each child. The children tape the straw axles to the cans.

[Clank]

Mandisa asks, DO YOU WANNA
TRY WHEELING IT?

The boy says, WATCH THIS.

The boy pushes his can and it rolls across the table to the girl. She pushes it back.

Mandisa says, NEXT WE'RE GONNA
GLUE ON A COUPLE OF POMPOMS
FOR OUR PUPPY'S TAIL.

The boy says, AS ITS TAIL.

Mandisa says, YOU WANNA GRAB
THREE POMPOMS AND THEN
WE'RE GONNA GLUE THEM TOGETHER.

A LITTLE BIT OF GLUE TO
THE BACK OF YOUR PUPPY.
THAT'S RIGHT.

The boy says, POMPOM TAIL.

Mandisa says, NEXT STEP IS TO
MAKE OUR PUPPY'S?

The boy says, HEAD.

Mandisa says, WE'RE GOING TO USE A?

The girl says, CUP.

Mandisa says, OKAY, AND I HAVE
SOME GOOGLY EYES.

Mandisa pours googly eyes out of a cup and puts the cup down.

[Clunk]

Mandisa says, I'M GONNA GRAB TWO,
AND I HAVE TWO EARS THAT I CUT
OUT OF CONSTRUCTION PAPER
AND A BLACK DOT STICKER FOR YOUR?

The girl says, NOSE.

Mandisa says, OKAY.

The boy’s cup tips over.

[Clatter]

The boy says, OH.

Mandisa says, TO STICK ON YOUR
EARS AND YOUR EYES, WE'RE GONNA
USE DOUBLE-SIDED TAPE.

[Cheerful music continues]

The girl mumbles, PEEL. AND THIS.

The boy says, SOME THINGS PEEL.
MY DOG LOOKS KINDA SILLY.

Mandisa says, OKAY. SHOULD
WE ADD THEM TO THE REST
OF OUR PUPPY?

Both children say, YES!

Mandisa says, TO ATTACH OUR PUPPY'S
HEAD TO OUR PUPPY'S BODY,
WE'RE GONNA USE SOME
DUCT TAPE AGAIN.

The boy says, YES, STICK. AND BOOP.

Mandisa says, TO TAKE OUR
PUPPIES FOR A WALK,
WE'RE GONNA NEED TO ATTACH A?

The boy says, LEASH.

Mandisa says, A LEASH, THAT'S RIGHT.
FOR OUR LEASH, YOU CAN
USE A PIECE OF YARN,
OR YOU CAN ADD THREE PIECES
OF YARN AND BRAID IT,
LIKE HOW I DID.

I HAVE TWO LEASHES HERE.

YOU GUYS CAN TAKE ONE
LEASH FOR YOUR PUPPY.

OKAY, YOU CAN ATTACH YOUR
LEASH WITH YOUR PIECE OF TAPE.

The boy says, COME ON, CRAYONS.
LET'S KEEP GOING.

Mandisa asks, ASTON, DID YOU
THINK OF A NAME FOR YOUR DOG?

Aston, the boy, says, CRAYONS.

Mandisa says, CRAYONS. I LOVE IT.

AND PIPER, WHAT'S
YOUR DOG'S NAME?

Piper, the girl, says, SPARKLES.

Mandisa says, SPARKLES.

HOW ABOUT WE TAKE
THEM ALL FOR A WALK?

Aston and Piper say, YES.

Mandisa says, OKAY, LET'S DO IT.

Mandisa, Aston and Piper pull their dogs on the top of the table.

Aston says, HI SPARKLES.

Piper says, HI DOGGIE.

Mandisa says, WEE! I LOVE THE DOG PARK.
IT'S SO MUCH FUN AT THE DOG PARK.
