Jambo transforms into his creature-shape and stands behind the desk. Three Lalalas and Jasmine line up.

The Lalalas say, LA.

Jasmine says, AH, COUNT ME IN! ALTHOUGH, WHAT IS MUSIC READING?

Jambo says, SINGING NOTES FROM A MUSICAL SCORE.
Jasmine says, AH, THAT'S EASY.

Jambo says, UM, I WOULDN'T SAY IT WAS EASY.

Jasmine says, B, G, D, D. OH, THAT'S A LOT OF NOTES.

Jambo says, YUP, ALL OF THEM, AND YOU'LL HAVE TO SING THEM IN TIME. YOU NEED TO PRACTICE A LOT.

[Meowing]

Doobeedoo jumps on Jasmine’s head and then to the table.

Jasmine says, OH!

Jambo asks, DO YOU WANT TO ENTER THE CONTEST, TOO?

Jambo says, THAT'S BECAUSE YOU KNOW WHAT THE FIRST PRIZE IS.

Jasmine asks, WHAT'S THE PRIZE?

Jambo says, A HOT POT.

Jasmine asks, A HOT POT? WHAT'S THAT, AN INSTRUMENT? I'VE NEVER HEARD OF IT BEFORE.

Jambo says, IT'S NOT AN INSTRUMENT, IT'S A KIND OF STEW AND IT'S DELICIOUS. DO YOU KNOW WHY? BECAUSE YOU COOK IT VERY SLOWLY. THE SECRET IS TO LEAVE IT FOR 12 HOURS, JUST BUBBLING AWAY.

Jasmine says, 12 HOURS!? THAT'S A LONG TIME. WHO'S MAKING IT?

Jambo puts on a chef hat. Doodoowah hops onto Jambo’s hand, also wearing a chef hat.

Jambo says, YOURS TRULY AND DOODOOWAH WILL BE HELPING ME. COME ON, WE'VE GOT WORK TO DO. WE'LL MAKE THE HOT POT, AND YOU NEED TO PRACTICE.

[Meowing in tune, hissing]

Doobeedoo looks at his sheet music. Elsewhere, Jasmine reads her music.

Jasmine chants, B, G, D, B, G, B, D, G.

Jasmine says, AH, IT'S REALLY TRICKY. LET'S SEE.

[Clearing throat]

Jasmine chantss, B, G, D, B, G, B, D.

A fly flies around Jasmine.

Jasmine says, OH.

[Violin imitating buzzing, giggling]

Jasmine pulls the bow over the strings on her violin.

[Splashing, happy music plays, tapping]

Jambo puts his ingredients in a pot.

Jambo says, ONIONS, TOMATOES, CARROTS, CABBAGE. THIS HOT POT IS GOING TO BE FINGER-LICKING GOOD, DOODOOWAH!

[Laughing]

Jasmine chases the fly.

Jambo says, OOH?

Jasmine says, HA! HM.

Jambo says, JASMINE, WE'VE STARTED MAKING THE STEW. HOW COME YOU'RE NOT PRACTICING?

Jasmine says, OH, YEAH!

[Giggling]

Jambo says, I DON'T KNOW WHY SHE'S GOING THAT WAY.

[Meowing in tune, boinging]

Jasmine leaps past Doobeedoo.

Jasmine says, HEY, HELLO, DOOBEEDOO! WAIT, WHAT AM I DOING? IT'S NOT THIS WAY. SEE YA, DOOBEEDOO.

[Meowing, boinging, happy music continues]

Jasmine leaps over Jambo.

Jasmine says, HA! SEE YA, STEW!

Jambo says, IT'S TIME TO BUBBLE, BUBBLE. LISTEN, DOODOOWAH!

[Stew bubbling]

Jambo asks, CAN YOU HEAR IT? THAT'S THE FLAVOURS OF ALL THE INGREDIENTS SIMMERING AWAY NICE AND SLOWLY AND BLENDING TOGETHER.

By the sheet music, Jasmine says, LET'S GO. B, G, D, B, G, D, B, G, B, G.

[Rhythmic music plays]

Lalalas march past Jasmine, playing drums, bells and maracas.

Jasmine says, OH, IT'S A PROCESSION! I WANT TO JOIN IN!

[Laughing, Jasmine drumming]

Jasmine leaps to the ground. She takes a drum and follows the procession.

[Bubbling, mellow music plays]

In the kitchen, Jambo and Doodoowah wait by the pot.

Jambo says, MM, DOESN'T IT SMELL FANTASTIC? IT'S GOING TO BE GREAT, BECAUSE WE SIMMERED IT NICE AND SLOWLY.

[Meowing in tune, sniffing, sun sighing, squeaking, Jasmine sighing, gentle music plays]

Day turns into night, and the sun falls asleep.

Jasmine says, TODAY'S BEEN A BRILLIANT DAY, TADA. SO MUCH FUN. I'LL PRACTICE A BIT MORE AND GO TO BED. G,G...MM.

[Yawning, splashing]

Ta-Da dives into their puddle. Jasmine falls asleep beside her music stand.

The next day, Jambo holds a microphone. Lalalas, Jasmine, Doodoowah, and Doobeedoo watch him from tiered seating.

Through the microphone, Jambo says, WELCOME TO THE SOUNDLAND MUSIC READING COMPETITION. AND OUR FIRST CONTESTANT IS JASMINE!

[Jasmine giggling]

[Jasmine gasping happily, meowing, applause, mellow music plays]

Confetti falls on Doobeedoo, and he jumps.

Jasmine says, CONGRATULATIONS, DOOBEEDOO! YOU WERE GREAT! HOW'D YOU DO IT?

Jambo says, HE LEFT IT TO BUBBLE.

Jasmine asks, WHAT DO YOU MEAN?

Jambo says, HE TOOK HIS TIME TO GET IT RIGHT, HE PRACTICED NICE AND SLOWLY, AND DIDN'T HURRY THINGS, LIKE DOODOOWAH AND ME WITH THE HOT POT.

[Sniffing]

Jasmine asks, MM, IS THAT THE HOT POT I CAN SMELL NOW?

[Fanfare plays, splashing]

Ta-Da jumps over everyone and lands in a puddle.

Jasmine says, OOH, SIMMERING THINGS SLOWLY IS A GREAT IDEA.

[Rhythmic music plays]

Doobeedoo tries to climb a rope and slides to the ground. Doodoowah waters a spot on the ground, and a tiny tree grows.

Jasmine sings, PLAY IT ONCE THEN TWICE AND THEN GO RIGHT BACK AND START AGAIN. TRY IT, THEN ANOTHER TRY. BIT BY BIT, YOU GET IT RIGHT.

Jasmine climbs a tall staircase and stops. Jambo holds puzzle pieces.

Jasmine sings, FIRST YOU TAKE IT NICE AND SLOW, WORKING OUT HOW EACH PART GOES. TAKE YOUR TIME, IT'S UP TO YOU TO SHOW WHAT YOU CAN DO.

Doobeedoo climbs the rope. Doodoowah waters the tree, and it grows. Jasmine reaches the top of the staircase and finds a piano. Jambo fits the second-last piece into the puzzle. He looks for the missing piece.

Jasmine sings, NOW YOU'VE GOT IT EVERYTHING SEEMS EASY; YOU DESERVE TO CELEBRATE YOUR VICTORY. IT WAS TOUGH, BUT NOW YOU KNOW NO ONE WINS ON THEIR FIRST GO. NOW YOU'VE GOT IT, DOESN'T IT FEEL GOOD?

Jasmine says, MM!

[Giggling, gasping, slurping]

Doobeedoo offers the spoon to Jasmine, and she tries the stew.

Jasmine says, WOW, THIS IS AMAZING!

Jambo arrives carrying the hot pot.

Jambo says, I DON'T THINK YOU'RE GOING TO EAT ALL THIS ON YOUR OWN, ARE YA, DOOBEEDOO?

[Meowing]

Jambo says, THEN LET'S TUCK IN! THE HOT POT FOR EVERYONE.

[Jasmine giggling, Doobeedoo meowing, splashing]

Ta-Da jumps into the hot pot.
