In an animation, fluffy white clouds fill the sky above a town on a green hill.

A narrator says, IN THIS LITTLE TOWN
LIVES A KITTEN NAMED COOKIE,
HIS BIG BROTHER PUDDING, AND
THEIR LITTLE SISTER CANDY.

Cookie, Pudding and Candy are orange kittens with striped tails. Cookie, wearing a sailor hat, rides a boat. Pudding, wearing a stocking cap, is pulled off the ground by a kite. Candy, wearing a red bow, skips rope at the top of a small hill. Her brothers join her on the hill.

The narrator continues, LOTS OF OTHER KITTENS LIVE
HERE, TOO.

Other kittens join the siblings at the bottom of the hill and wave.

The narrator says, COOKIE, CANDY, AND PUDDING.
KID-E-CATS.

The siblings smile.

Cookie and Pudding say, WE'RE CUTE!

Candy says, BUT I'M CUTER.

Together, the siblings say, ME-WOW!

The title reads, Kid-e-Cats.

The narrator reads the episode title.

They say, KEEP CALM KANDY.

[Gentle music plays]

The narrator says, ONE DAY, CANDY
PLAYED A SONG THAT SHE COMPOSED
HERSELF.

In Cookie, Candy and Pudding’s bedroom, Cookie and Pudding watch Candy play a melodica, a trumpet-like instrument with a small keyboard instead of valves. Candy’s melodica makes harmonica-like music.

[Candy’s music continues]

Candy stops playing her melodica and smiles.

[Cookie and Pudding clapping]

[Cookie and Pudding laughing]

Candy smiles proudly.

Near the door, Mommy says, OH, MY.
THAT MELODY IS BEAUTIFUL!

She stands in the doorway with Daddy.

Cookie says, CANDY THOUGHT IT UP ALL BY
HERSELF!

Daddy says, YOU KNOW, I THINK YOUR UNCLE
MUFFIN WOULD LOVE TO HEAR
CANDY'S SONG.
HE'S A PERFORMER, TOO.
I'M GOING TO INVITE HIM OVER
TONIGHT SO CANDY CAN PERFORM HER
SONG FOR HIM.

He dials a number on his phone.

[Beeping]

Candy puts down her melodica.

Cookie, Candy, and Pudding say, SO AWESOME!

Cookie and Pudding hold Candy’s paws, and they all wiggle their arms.
  
They cheer, ME-WOW, ME-WOW,
ME-WOW, ME-WOW!

Candy says, OH, IF I'M GOING TO BE READY
TO PERFORM, I'D BETTER START
PRACTICING THE SONG.

She grabs her melodica. Outside, a purple butterfly and a blue butterfly flutter past the house.

The narrator says, CANDY REALLY WANTED TO PLAY
THE SONG WITHOUT ANY MISTAKES.

On her bed, Candy plays her melodica.

[Candy’s melody plays]

The narrator says, SO SHE HAD BEEN PRACTICING FOR
A LONG TIME.

Cookie bounces a ball toward Candy.

Cookie says, CANDY, YOU KNOW THE SONG WELL
ENOUGH.
COME ON!
LET'S PLAY BALL!

Pudding says, OR CATCH BUTTERFLIES.

He holds a net. Candy stops playing.

She says, I CAN'T NOW!
I HAVE TO KEEP PRACTICING THIS.

Candy starts playing her melodica.

[Candy playing her melodica]

Mommy walks in with a pot.

Mommy says, KITTENS, YOU HAVEN'T BEEN
OUTSIDE AT ALL TODAY.
GO GET SOME FRESH AIR UNTIL
LUNCH TIME, PLEASE.

Candy says, WELL, ALRIGHT, BUT JUST FOR A
LITTLE WHILE, AND I'M TAKING MY
MELODICA WITH ME!

[Gentle music plays]

At the park, Pudding, Chase and Cookie throw Cookie’s ball between them. Smudge and Cupcake ride the seesaw.

[Seesaw creaking]

Candy stands alone with her melodica. She starts to play her melody.

[Candy playing her melodica]

Chase turns toward Candy. Cookie’s ball hits Chase.

Chase says, OH.

He runs over to Candy. Smudge joins Chase and Candy.

Chase asks, HEY, WHAT'S THAT SONG YOU'RE
PLAYING?

Candy stops and says, IT'S ONE I MADE UP.

Cookie follows his ball over to Cookie, Chase and Smudge.

Smudge says, OH, WOW!
PLAY IT FOR US!

Pudding and Cupcake join the others.

[Candy inhaling deeply]

[Candy playing her melodica]

Candy stops and says, THAT'S WRONG.

Cookie and Pudding frown.

[Candy playing her melodica jarringly]

Candy stops and says, NO, WAIT.

[Candy playing her melodica jarringly]

Candy stops and says, NAH.

Smudge and Chase frown.

[Candy playing her melodica]

[Candy sighing sadly]

Pudding says, UM, CANDY, YOUR SONG SOUNDED
WAY DIFFERENT THIS MORNING.

Candy says, I'M JUST SO NERVOUS!
WHAT IF I GET IT WRONG WHEN I
PERFORM FOR UNCLE MUFFIN?

Cookie says, MAYBE YOU SHOULD TRY TO CALM
DOWN.

Cupcake asks, CANDY, I COULD LEND YOU A
BEAUTIFUL OUTFIT?
I FEEL MORE CONFIDENT WHEN I'M
DRESSED UP NICELY.

Candy looks thoughtful. She imagines Cupcake throwing a big blue dress and a big blue hat onto her.

Candy grunts, OOF!

The hat covers Candy’s eyes and feet. Candy walks toward Uncle Muffin, who wears a suit. The dress drags behind Candy.

[Candy grunting]

Candy falls and drops her melodica.

Uncle Muffin says, OH!

In reality, Candy says, IT'LL BE TOO BIG FOR ME,
THOUGH.

Cupcake frowns.

Candy says, IT'LL ONLY MAKE THINGS WORSE.

Chase says, WHENEVER I NEED TO CALM DOWN,
I LIKE TO GET SOME EXERCISE!

Candy imagines herself exercising. She does squats, push-ups, and jogs on the spot.

[Panting]

Candy grabs her melodica and plays for Uncle Muffin.

[Candy playing her melodica jarringly]

Uncle Muffin frowns.

He says, BLAH.
WELL, THAT WAS, UH...

In reality, Candy says, NO, IF I TRIED TO DO THAT,
I'D BE TOO TIRED TO PERFORM.

[Candy sighing]

Cookie says, THEN YOU SHOULD STOP
PRACTICING AND GET SOME REST.

Pudding says, WE'LL EVEN STOP PLAYING SO WE
DON'T DISTURB YOU.

Pudding and Cookie stand on either side of the park bench where Cupcake, Candy, Chase and Smudge sit. Cupcake reads a book and Candy holds her melodica. Pudding, Chase, Smudge and Cookie watch Candy. Candy frowns.

The narrator says, THE KITTENS TRIED TO BE AS
QUIET AS POSSIBLE, BUT THAT
ONLY MADE CANDY MORE NERVOUS.

Candy imagines playing her melodica for Uncle Muffin.

[Candy playing her melodica]

Daddy, Mommy, Chase and his parents, Raisin, Bow, Boris and other neighbourhood cats appear around Candy. Candy stops playing.

[Candy gasping]

[Candy whimpering]

In reality, Candy closes her eyes and shakes her head.

Candy says, NO, THIS ISN'T HELPING.
NOW, I'M EVEN MORE WORRIED THAN
I WAS!

The other kittens frown.

Pudding says, BUT HOW CAN WE CALM YOU DOWN?

Candy hops off the bench.

She says, I HAVE A REALLY GOOD IDEA!
WE'LL JUST TELL UNCLE MUFFIN NOT
TO COME OVER TONIGHT.
THEN I'LL BE ABLE TO STOP
WORRYING.

Candy smiles and runs home with Cookie and Pudding.

The narrator says, BUT WHEN THE KITTENS GOT BACK
HOME, A SURPRISE WAS WAITING
FOR THEM.

Cookie, Candy and Pudding run into the living room.

They stop and say, OH!

Cookie drops his ball. It rolls across the floor to the dinner table. At the table, Uncle Muffin sips tea with Mommy and Daddy.

Daddy says, LOOK, KITTENS!
UNCLE MUFFIN CAME OVER EARLY!

Candy whimpers, OH.

Uncle Muffin says, HELLO, KITTENS!
SO, I'M REALLY LOOKING FORWARD
TO HEARING YOUR SONG, CANDY.

Candy backs away,

She says, SORRY, UNCLE MUFFIN.
I WANTED TO PLAY MY SONG FOR
YOU, BUT I'M JUST TOO NERVOUS.

Daddy and Uncle Muffin say, OH.

Uncle Muffin puts down his teacup and stands.

He says, OH, CANDY, THAT'S OKAY.
A LOT OF PERFORMERS GET NERVOUS,
YOU KNOW EVEN ME.

Candy asks, FOR REAL?

Uncle Muffin says, OH, YES, YOU BET.
BUT HOW ABOUT IF I SHOW YOU AN
EFFECTIVE WAY I USE TO CALM
DOWN?

Mommy and Daddy smile and sneak out of the room.

Uncle Muffin says, JUST CLOSE YOUR EYES AND IMAGINE
THAT WE'RE SOMEWHERE OUTSIDE.

Pudding, Candy and Cookie sit on the living room rug with Uncle Muffin. They all closed their eyes.

[Relaxing music plays]

Uncle Muffin, Pudding, Candy and Cookie sit by a gently flowing river beside a cheery blossom tree.

Uncle Muffin says, NOW, TAKE A GOOD, DEEP BREATH
AND GENTLY LET IT OUT.
JUST BREATHE IN.
ISN'T THAT NICE?

[Pudding, Candy and Cookie breathing in]

Uncle Muffin says, THEN GENTLY LET THE BREATH OUT.

[Pudding, Candy, Cookie and Uncle Muffin slowly breathing out]

[Relaxing music continues]

Uncle Muffin says, BREATHE IN.
TWO, THREE, FOUR.

[Breathing in]

Uncle Muffin says, BREATHE OUT.
TWO, THREE, FOUR.

[Breathing out]

A purple butterfly flutters around the cherry blossom tree.

[Deep breathing]

[Relaxed sighing]

[Relaxing music continues]

Uncle Muffin says, THIS TECHNIQUE IS CALLED A
BREATHING EXERCISE, AND IT HELPS
YOU TO CALM RIGHT DOWN.

He opens his eyes. In the living room, he stands. Cookie and Candy open their eyes.

[Soft snoring]

Uncle Muffin, Cookie and Candy turn toward Pudding. Pudding is asleep.

[Pudding softly snoring]

Cookie says, HEY, LOOKS LIKE PUDDING
CALMED DOWN SO MUCH HE FELL
ASLEEP!

[Uncle Muffin, Cookie and Candy laughing]

Pudding wakes up and says, WHAT?

Candy says, THANK YOU, UNCLE MUFFIN.
I DO FEEL CALM NOW AND READY TO
PERFORM MY SONG FOR YOU!

Cookie, Candy, and Pudding say, SO AWESOME!
 
Cookie and Pudding hold Candy’s paws, and they all wiggle their arms.
  
They cheer, ME-WOW, ME-WOW,
ME-WOW, ME-WOW!

Candy plays her melodica.

[Candy playing her melodica]

The narrator says, IF YOU EVER FEEL NERVOUS
ABOUT SOMETHING, TRY BREATHING,
JUST LIKE CANDY LEARNED TO DO.

Mommy, Daddy, Uncle Muffin, Cookie and Pudding watch Candy perform.

[Narrator deeply breathing in and out]

[Narrator sighing in relaxation]

Candy lowers her melodica.

[Clapping]

Uncle Muffin says, BRAVO!

Pudding says, THAT WAS GREAT.

Cookie says, AWESOME!

[Bright music plays]
