[Gentle music plays]
The narrator says, ONE DAY, MOMMY WOKE THE
KITTENS EARLIER THAN USUAL,
BECAUSE GRANDPA WAS TAKING THEM
ON A SAILING TRIP.
Mommy walks into Cookie, Candy and Pudding’s bedroom with a bell. Cookie, Candy and Pudding lie asleep in their beds. Mommy rings the bell.
[Bell ringing]
Mommy says, GET UP, LITTLE SAILORS,
GRANDPA'S READY WITH THE SAIL
BOAT!
Cookie and Candy wake up.
[Cookie and Candy gasping]
Cookie climbs down the ladder of his and Pudding’s bunk bed. Cookie meets Candy beside Pudding’s bed.
Cookie and Candy cheer, SO AWESOME!
Pudding slowly wakes up.
He says, HUH?
Candy grabs Pudding’s paw. Cookie holds Candy’s other paw. Cookie and Candy wiggle their arms.
Candy and Cookie cheer, ME-WOW, ME-WOW,
ME-WOW, ME-WOW!
Mommy walks out of the kitchen with a tray.
She says, SAILING TAKES A LOT OF
ENERGY, SO I'VE MADE SOME TASTY
PORRIDGE FOR YOU.
Cookie, Candy and Pudding sit at the table. Pudding is asleep.
[Pudding softly snoring]
Mommy serves bowls of porridge to Cookie, Candy and Pudding.
[Pudding yawning]
Cookie says, AH, LOOK AT THIS.
IT COULD BE OUR SAILBOAT.
He pushes his spoon into his porridge. With his eyes closed, Pudding dumps a bowl of raisins and nuts into his porridge and starts eating. Candy throws an almond in Cookie’s bowl of porridge.
Candy says, AND IT MEETS A WHALE.
She imagines a sailboat sailing toward a smiling wail. The whale sprays water out of its blowhole.
[Spraying]
In reality, Daddy says, KITTENS!
Pudding opens his eyes.
He, Cookie and Candy say, HUH?
They turn to Daddy standing in the living room doorway.
Daddy ways, I'LL WAIT FOR YOU IN THE
CAR.
WHEN YOU'VE FINISHED YOUR
BREAKFAST, WE'LL GO STRAIGHT TO
GRANDPA'S.
Candy says, WE'RE ALL FINISHED, DADDY!
Cookie says, YEAH, WE'RE READY TO LEAVE!

Grandpa says, HI THERE!
Cookie, Candy and Pudding run up the dock to Grandpa’s boat.
Cookie, Candy and Pudding say, HI, GRANDPA!
They run across a platform and onto the boat. They hug Grandpa.
Grandpa says, MORNING, WELCOME ABOARD!
LET'S PUT YOUR BACKPACKS IN THE
HOLD.
Cookie, Candy, and Pudding climb down a ladder through a door on the main deck. They leave their backpacks under the deck, in the area known as the hold, and climb back up the ladder. Grandpa closes the door.
Grandpa says, ATTENTION, ALL CREW MEMBERS PUT
ON YOUR LIFE JACKETS.

He says, WEIGH THE ANCHOR.
At the front of the boat, known as the bow, Cookie, Candy, and Pudding wear their life jackets and turn toward a rope in the water.
Cookie, Candy and Pudding say, OH!
They look over a railing at the rope.
[Cookie, Candy and Pudding gasping]
[Cranking]
Under a hand crank, the rope rises through the water and is pulled into the boat. Cookie, Candy and Pudding watch the rope rise.
Through a speaker, Grandpa says, STOW THE GANG PLANK!
Cookie, Candy and Pudding run to the other end of the boat, known as the stern. They watch the gangplank, the platform connected to the dock, fold up against the boat.
[Whirring]
Into the radio microphone, Grandpa says, AND NOW HOIST THE SAIL!
[Exciting music plays]
Cookie, Candy and Pudding look at the orange and white striped sail. The sail starts to rise against the mast, which is a tall pole. The sail stops halfway and falls down the mast.
[Sad music plays]
At the bow, the rope in the water is tied to an anchor. The rope stops moving, and the anchor is partway out of the water. At the helm, the controls shut down.
[Powering down]
Grandpa frowns and says, OH?
He presses different buttons.
Grandpa says, UH…
He turns to Cookie, Candy and Pudding.
Grandpa says, CREW, ALL HANDS ON DECK.
IT'S YOUR JOB TO WEIGH THE
ANCHOR.
Pudding says, OH!
He follows Cookie and Candy to the bow.
Grandpa says, JUST GIVE THE CRANK A COUPLE
OF TURNS.
Cookie grabs one handle on the crank and tries to turn it.
[Cookie grunting]
Candy grabs the other handle on the crank. She and Cookie try to turn it.
[Cookie and Candy grunting]
Pudding grabs Candy’s handle. Cookie and Candy step back. Pudding easily turns the crank.
Candy says, HUH?
[Pudding chuckling]
The crank pulls the anchor out of the water.
[Dripping]
Grandpa says, AND NOW JUST PULL THE ROPE.

[Seagulls squawking]
Grandpa, Cookie, Candy and Pudding sail away from Grandpa’s lighthouse.
[Gentle music plays]
The sailboat glides across the water.
The narrator says, GRANDPA WANTED TO GO TO BIRD
HARBOR TO TAKE PICTURES OF
BIRDS' NESTS SO THEY COULD ADD
THEM TO THE MAP.
At the helm, Grandpa takes a picture with his camera lens and the flash pointing at his face.
[Camera shutter clicking]
The camera flash flashes in Grandpa’s face.
Grandpa yelps, OH!
He briefly closes his eyes.
[Grandpa laughing]
Grandpa says, RIGHT.
He lowers his camera and looks at a map.
[Grandpa sighing]
At the bow, Pudding looks at the water ahead through a monocular telescope. He runs alongside the railing and looks out at another section of water through the telescope. Cookie and Candy sit by the crank.
Candy says, I'M A LITTLE BIT TIRED,
COOKIE.
Cookie says, ME, TOO.
WHY'S PUDDING SO FULL OF ENERGY?
Pudding runs around the bow.
He says, I CAN'T SEE BIRD HARBOUR.
I JUST SEE WAVES.
Grandpa joins Cookie, Candy and Pudding.
Grandpa says, YES, YOU'LL NEED TO CLIMB UP
THE MAST.
YOU'LL BE ABLE TO SEE BIRD
HARBOUR FROM UP THERE.
Pudding says, OH!
He eagerly climbs up the mast.
Cookie and Candy say, HUH?
They watch Pudding easily climb up the mast ladder toward a platform. Cookie stands and looks up. Grandpa gazes out at the water through a pair of binoculars. Cookie tries to climb up the mast.
[Cookie grunting]
Cookie drops down onto the deck.
[Cookie sighing]
Cookie says, I FEEL TOO TIRED TO CLIMB UP.
I BETTER JUST SIT HERE.
He sits down beside Candy.
Candy says, I'M TIRED AS WELL, AND I'M
HUNGRY, TOO.
Cookie says, HEY, GRANDPA, WHEN ARE WE
GOING TO HAVE LUNCH?
Grandpa says, WE HAVE A SCHEDULE TO FOLLOW.
WE HAVE TO GET TO SHORE BEFORE
WE CAN DO ANYTHING ELSE.
He lowers his binoculars and walks away.
[Candy sighing]
Grandma, Cookie, Candy and Pudding continue through the water. On the mast platform, Pudding looks through the monocular telescope.
Pudding says, OH!
He looks down toward Grandpa.
Pudding says, OFF THE PORT SIDE, BIRD
HARBOUR!
Grandpa says, EXCELLENT JOB, SAILOR
PUDDING.
[Grandpa chuckling]
At the helm, Grandpa says, HARD TO PORT!

OUT OF ENERGY.
She sits down on the side of the trail.
[Cookie sighing tiredly]
Cookie says, I'M WORN OUT, TOO.
He sits down beside Candy. Pudding runs up to flowers on the other side of the trail. Grandpa glances at Cookie and Candy.
Grandpa says, HUH?
He frowns.
Cookie adds, AND MY
STOMACH'S GROWLING.
WE'RE GOING TO SCARE ALL THE
BIRDS AWAY!
He imagines watching a flock of red-beaked, black-and-white birds on a cliff with Grandpa, Cookie, and Pudding.
[Gentle music plays]
[Bird wings flapping]
Grandpa aims his camera at the birds.
[Cookie’s stomach grumbling loudly]
Cookie holds his belly.
[Birds squawking]
The black and white birds fly away. They splatter the cliff with white droppings. Grandpa frowns.
[Wings flapping]
In reality, Grandpa says, COOKIE, CANDY, DIDN'T YOU TWO
HAVE BREAKFAST?
Cookie and Candy say, MM-MM.
They shake their heads.
Grandpa says, WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME,
KITTENS?
WE'LL JUST HAVE LUNCH RIGHT NOW!
Cookie and Candy smile.
[Gentle music plays]
In a clearing on the trail, Cookie, Candy and Pudding stand by a flat rock with a tablecloth laid out. On the tablecloth, there are bowls, spoons, cups and napkins. Pudding searches his backpack. Grandpa smiles.
Cookie says, I HOPE MOMMY PACKED A LOT OF
FOOD.
I AM SO HUNGRY I COULD EAT A
WHALE!
Pudding takes an insulating flask out of his backpack and opens the lid. Steam billows out. Cookie and Candy look inside.
Candy says, OH, IT'S MOMMY'S YUMMY
PORRIDGE, WITH LOTS OF NUTS AND
RAISINS!
Grandpa says, FANTASTIC, THIS LUNCH WILL
GIVE YOU ENERGY THAT LASTS A
LONG TIME!
Cookie, Candy, and Pudding say, SO AWESOME!
Cookie and Pudding hold Candy’s paws, and they all wiggle their arms.

OF BIRD HARBOUR, WHERE THEY
TRIED TO KEEP A SAFE DISTANCE
SO THE BIRDS WOULDN'T BE
WORRIED.
