A narrator says, IN THIS LITTLE TOWN LIVES A KITTEN NAMED COOKIE, HIS BIG BROTHER PUDDING, AND THEIR LITTLE SISTER CANDY. LOTS OF OTHER KITTENS LIVE HERE TOO.
Kittens wave happily.
The narrator says, COOKIE, CANDY, AND PUDDING! KID-E-CATS!

Cookie and Pudding say, WE'RE CUTE!
Candy says, BUT I'M CUTER!
All three say, ME-WOW!

Outside, the kittens and Grandma walk towards a greenhouse. Snow falls over the snowy trees.
[Footsteps crunching in snow]
The narrator says, ONE DAY, THE KITTENS AND THEIR GRANDMA WENT TO A TROPICAL GREENHOUSE.
Pudding says, OH, WOW, LOOK, GUYS! PALM TREES IN WINTER WHILE ITS SNOWING.
Candy asks, AREN'T THEY COLD IN THERE?
The kittens imagine a glass cube forming around palm trees. Space heaters point up at the trees.
[Slide whistle, clinking, whirring, slide whistle]
Grandma says, DON'T WORRY, LITTLE ONE. THIS BUILDING IS CALLED A GREENHOUSE. THE SUN SHINES THROUGH THE GLASS, SO IT'S ALWAYS WARM INSIDE. PLUS, IT HAS HEATERS TO KEEP IT EXTRA WARM.
The daydream ends.
In reality, Cookie says, COME ON, EVERYBODY! LET'S SEE WHAT'S INSIDE.
[Door clicking, upbeat music plays]
The kittens and Grandma enter the greenhouse. An employee waits holding pieces of paper.
The narrator says, THE KITTENS AND THEIR GRANDMA LEFT THEIR WINTER COATS IN THE COAT ROOM AND WENT IN.
The employee says, WELCOME INTO OUR TROPICAL WINTER GARDEN! AND MAY I INVITE YOU TO PLAY ANIMAL TRACKERS? ANY KITTEN WHO CHECKS OFF ALL THE ANIMALS ON THIS LIST WILL EARN A SPECIAL TRACKER BADGE.
The employee holds out a round badge.
Cookie asks, AN ACTUAL TRACKER BADGE?
[Happy music plays]
The kittens say, SO AWESOME.
They hold hands and sing, MEWOW, MEWOW, MEWOW, MEWOW!
[Leaves rustling]
Cookie says, OKAY, LET'S GET TRACKING.
The kittens and Grandma each hold a checklist.
[Footsteps pattering, happy music plays]
Cookie stops beside a chameleon camouflaged on a bush and then keeps walking. Pudding stops, and the chameleon turns green.
Pudding says, OH, A CHAMELEON!
He checks the chameleon off his list.
[Marker scratching, upbeat music plays]
Cookie runs to a pond and taps a turtle shell. He runs away.
[Tapping]
Candy watches the turtle jumping into the pond.
[Footsteps tapping, splashing]
Candy says, IT'S A TURTLE!
She checks the turtle off her list.
[Marker scratching, upbeat music plays]
A parrot stands on a vine.
[Squawking]
Grandma and Cookie look up and the parrot is gone. Cookie runs around the side of a tree. He shrugs at Grandma and runs away.
[Flapping]
Grandma says, THERE'S A PARROT.
She checks the parrot off her list.
[Marker scratching, upbeat music plays]
Pudding and Candy sniff flowers. Cookie stops beside them. He sneezes and rubs his nose.
[Sniffing, sneezing]
Pudding says, OH, LOOK, IT'S A BUTTERFLY!
[Flapping]
Cookie asks, WHERE? WHERE IS IT?!
Pudding and Candy check the butterfly off their lists.
[Marker scratching, Cookie gasping, upbeat music plays]
The narrator says, PUDDING, CANDY, AND GRANDMA FOUND ALL THE ANIMALS LIVING IN THE GREENHOUSE, AND CHECKED THEM OFF THEIR LISTS.
Grandma, Pudding, and Candy sit on a bench beside a small pond. Cookie paces and looks at his list.
[Water gurgling]
Cookie says, YOU GUYS ARE ON A ROLL, AND I HAVEN'T FOUND ANY AT ALL.
Grandma says, COOKIE, WHY DON'T YOU SIT DOWN AND REST FOR A MINUTE.
Cookie imagines a lizard following a candy trail.
[Slide whistle, footsteps pattering]
Cookie says, THERE'S NO TIME TO REST! I HAVE TO SET CANDY OUT FOR BAIT THE LIZARD WILL SMELL THE CANDY AND COME OUT OF HIDING, AND THEN I CAN CHECK HIM OFF.
Pudding says, ONLY LIZARDS LIKE TO EAT BUGS, NOT CANDY.
[Buzzing, slide whistle]
The daydream ends.
[Water gurgling]
In reality, Cookie says, I BET IF I CLIMB THE TALLEST PALM TREE, I'LL BE ABLE TO SEE EVERYTHING YOU SAW TOO.
Grandma says, COOKIE, YOU'RE NOT ALLOWED TO DISTURB THE PLANTS IN HERE, WHICH INCLUDES CLIMBING TREES.
Pudding says, NOT TO MENTION, PALM TREES ARE HARD TO CLIMB.
Pudding imagines Cookie trying to climb a palm tree and sliding back down.
[Slide whistle, scraping]
Cookie says, SO I'LL RUN AS FAST AS I CAN AND THEN THEY WON'T HAVE TIME TO HIDE FROM ME.
Cookie runs in a circle.
[Water gurgling, footsteps pattering]
Grandma says, AH, SOUNDS LIKE A PLAN. BUT FIRST, COME SIT DOWN AND REST AWHILE.
Cookie says, AH, I SUPPOSE. MAYBE REST WILL HELP ME RUN FASTER.
Cookie slumps on a bench and fidgets. The chameleon walks on a plant behind him.
[Cookie gasping]
Cookie says, OH, WHAT A COOL LIZARD!
Pudding says, IT'S A CHAMELEON, AND IT CAN CHANGE ITS COLOURS TO BLEND IN WITH ANY KIND OF LEAVES OR BRANCHES.
Cookie says, REALLY? AND I STILL MANAGED TO FIND IT!
Candy says, THAT GIVES ME AN IDEA.
Cookie says, ME TOO! I'M NOT GOING TO RUN ANYMORE. INSTEAD, I'LL LOOK CAREFULLY ALL AROUND ME, THEN I'LL FIND ALL THE ANIMALS.
He checks the chameleon off his list.
[Marker scratching, upbeat music plays]
[Parrot squawking]
Cookie says, A PARROT, CHECK!
The butterfly lands on Cookie’s nose.
[Gasping, fluttering]
Cookie says, A BUTTERFLY!
He checks the parrot and butterfly off his list.
[Marker scratching]
Cookie says, OH, IT'S A FROG!
[Tapping, splashing]
Cookie says, AND A TURTLE!
He checks the turtle off his list.
[Marker scratching]
Cookie says, THERE'S THE LIZARD!
The lizard jumps, and their tail falls off.
[Squelching]
Cookie says, OH, HIS TAIL JUST CAME OFF!
Pudding says, IF A LIZARD IS IN DANGER, IT CAN PROTECT ITSELF BY SHEDDING ITS TAIL. BUT DON'T WORRY, THEY CAN GROW NEW ONES.
Candy asks, HOW COOL IS THAT? I WISH WE COULD SHED OUR TAILS.
Cookie checks the lizard off his list.
[Marker scratching]
Cookie says, OH, I CHECKED THEM ALL OFF! LET'S GO GET OUR BADGES.
The employee puts the badge on Cookie’s shirt. Overhead, the parrot swoops past and lands on a vine.
[Flapping]
The employee says, I'M QUITE IMPRESSED WITH YOU KITTENS. YOU AND YOUR GRANDMA ARE EXPERT TRACKERS.
[Happy music plays]
The kittens say, SO AWESOME.
They hold hands and sing, MEWOW, MEWOW, MEWOW, MEWOW!
[Parrot squawking]
Parrot dances and sings, MEWOW, MEWOW!
[Laughing]
Grandma says, WELL, MY EXPERT TRACKERS, I THINK IT'S TIME FOR SOME PINEAPPLE PANCAKES AT THE TROPICAL CAFE.
Pudding asks, CAN WE, PLEASE? I'M SO HUNGRY, I COULD START EATING BUGS LIKE THE LIZARD.
[Everyone laughing]
The narrator says, AND SO THE KITTENS LEARNED THAT THE BEST WAY TO OBSERVE NATURE IS TO BE QUIET AND PATIENT.
[Upbeat music plays]
