[Cheerful music plays]

[Upbeat music plays, birds chirp]

Kittens wave happily.

The narrator says, COOKIE, CANDY, AND PUDDING! KID-E-CATS!

Striped red text beneath Pudding, Candy and Cookie reads, “Kid-E-Cats.”

Cookie and Pudding say, WE'RE CUTE!

Candy says, BUT I'M CUTER!

All three say, ME-WOW!

Fluffy blue clouds float in the blue sky above the Kid-E-Cats yellow two-storey house.

Episode title: Grandma’s Day.

[Chiming, birds chirping]

The narrator says, ONE MORNING, MOMMY AND DADDY WERE PACKING A PICNIC TO CELEBRATE GRANDMA'S DAY.

In the dining room, Daddy Cat and Mommy Cat fill a basket with food.

[Clinking]

Daddy Cat says, UH, DARLING, DO YOU KNOW WHERE THE NAPKINS ARE?

Mommy Cat says, HMM, I THINK THEY'RE IN THE KITCHEN CABINET, SWEETHEART.

The kittens stand in a doorway and watch their parents.

[Upbeat music plays]

Pudding says, I SURE DO LOVE GRANDMA'S DAY.

Cookie says, WE GET TO HAVE A FUN PICNIC AND THEN PLAY WITH GRANDMA THE WHOLE DAY.

Candy says, AND OUR FRIENDS' GRANDMAS, DON'T FORGET.

[Happy music plays]

The kittens say, SO AWESOME.

They hold hands and sing, MEWOW, MEWOW, MEWOW, MEWOW!

Pudding says, BUT WAIT! IF TODAY IS A SPECIAL HOLIDAY, MAYBE WE SHOULD BRING THEM A PRESENT.

Cookie says, WHAT A GREAT IDEA. A SUPER-DUPER PRESENT FOR ALL THE GRANDMAS.

The kittens run to the playground.

[Footsteps pattering, upbeat music plays]

The narrator says, AND SO, THE KITTENS WENT TO THE PLAYGROUND TO DISCUSS THEIR IDEA WITH ALL THEIR FRIENDS.

Mustard says, MY GRANDMA ALWAYS LOVES TO RIDE THE MERRY-GO-ROUND. MAYBE WE SHOULD GET THEM ALL TICKETS TO THE CARNIVAL.

In a daydream, the Grandmas ride in teacups on the merry-go-round.

[Slide whistles, laughing, carnival music plays]

Cupcake says, NO, MERRY-GO-ROUNDS MAKE MY GRANDMA DIZZY AND STUFF.

Cupcake’s Grandma faints.

[Groaning, thumping, music ends]

In the daydream, the Grandmas line up in a row at a starting line.

[Upbeat music plays]

Candy says, OUR GRANDMA LOVES TO RUN AND PLAY ALL KINDS OF SPORTS. MAYBE WE CAN ORGANIZE A GRANDMA RACE DAY.

[Candy blowing whistle, Grandmas panting]

Smudge asks, BUT WHAT IF THE GRANDMAS GET TIRED?

The Grandmas slump and walk on the track.

[Grandmas groaning]

Raisin says, YEAH, MY GRANDMA DOESN'T LIKE SPORTS ALL THAT MUCH. BUT SHE SURE DOES LOVE TO TAKE PICTURES OF NATURE.

Raisin’s Grandma takes a photograph of a red butterfly.

[Camera shutter snapping, fluttering, upbeat music plays]

The Grandmas climb a mountain with a river flowing down the side.

[Water splashing]

Raisin asks, HOW ABOUT A HIKE IN THE MOUNTAINS?

Mustard says, MY GRANDMA WOULD NEVER, EVER CLIMB A MOUNTAIN, BUT SHE LOVES TO GO SWIMMING.

Mustard’s Grandma dives into the water and swims past Smudge’s Grandma, who stands on a small island.

[Exclamation, water splashing]

Mustard’s Grandma shouts, WOOHOO!

Smudge says, MY GRANDMA NEVER LEARNED TO SWIM, BUT SHE SURE LOVES TO PLAY DRUMS.

Smudge’s Grandma plays bongo drums. Above her, butterflies swoop in the air.

[Toe splashing water, exclamation, fast-paced drumming, fluttering]

Cupcake says, AND MY GRANDMA LOVES GOLF.

Cupcake’s Grandma hits a golf ball. The daydream ends.

[Gentle music plays, grunting, slide whistle]

Cookie asks, WHAT DO WE DO? OUR GRANDMAS ARE SO DIFFERENT. HOW WILL WE EVER DECIDE WHAT TO GET THEM?

Pudding says, OH, NO! NOW ALL OUR GRANDMAS WILL BE SO UNHAPPY.

[Pudding moaning]

The narrator says, THE KITTENS TOLD THEIR MOMMY ALL ABOUT THEIR PROBLEM.

In the living room, Mommy cat says, NOW, DON'T FRET TOO MUCH, KITTENS. THEY'LL BE GLAD JUST TO HEAR YOU SAY, "HAPPY GRANDMOTHER'S DAY."

Pudding asks, ARE YOU SURE, MOMMY?

Mommy Cat says, ABSOLUTELY, MY DARLINGS.

In a flashback, Mommy Cat and her sister look at a photograph of their Grandma and write a letter to her.

[Slide whistle, accordion music plays]

Mommy Cat narrates, WHEN I WAS A LITTLE GIRL, MY GRANDMA, YOUR GREAT-GRANDMA, LIVED MANY MILES AWAY. SO WE WEREN'T ABLE TO PICNIC WITH HER ON HER SPECIAL DAY. SO YOUR AUNT CINNAMON AND I WOULD WRITE HER A LETTER TO WISH HER HAPPY GRANDMOTHER'S DAY. AND WE'D STAMP THE ENVELOPE WITH OUR LITTLE PAW PRINTS. MY, MY, HOW GRANDMA LOVED IT.

The flashback ends.

[Slide whistle, music ends]

Candy says, WE CAN DO THAT, CAN'T WE?

In the playground, Candy says, WE'LL MAKE A BIG, SPECIAL CARD FOR ALL OUR GRANDMAS. AND THEN EVERYONE CAN STAMP IT WITH THEIR PAW PRINTS.

Mustard eats cookies

[Crunching, birds chirping]

Smudge says, UH, BUT THAT'S A LOT OF GRANDMAS, CANDY. THAT'S GOING TO BE A REALLY BIG CARD.

Candy says, OH, YOU'RE RIGHT. I HADN'T THOUGHT OF THAT.

Mustard suggests, WHAT IF WE MAKE THEM SOME NECKLACES WITH CARDBOARD CUT-OUTS THAT LOOK LIKE HEARTS? HEY, YOU WANT A COOKIE?

Mustard holds a cookie in front of Smudge.

Smudge says, YEAH.

Mustard says, TOO LATE.

Mustard eats the cookie.

[Munching, bright notes play]

Smudge says, AW.

Pudding says, WAIT A MINUTE. A COOKIE!

[Rock music plays]

The kittens and their friends run back to the kittens’ bedroom. Pudding draws a heart and puts a paw print in the middle. They carry the drawing to Daddy Cat.

The kittens and their friends sing, WE'RE ALL WORKING TOGETHER WE'VE GOT OUR GOAL IN SIGHT. DADDY'S LENDING A HELPING HAND TO MAKE SURE IT'S JUST RIGHT.

Daddy cat puts on his chef’s hat and helps the kittens bake heart-shaped cookies. Daddy cat and the kittens mix dough in bowls.

[Dough squelching, rock music continues]

The kittens and their friends sing, WE'VE GOT A PERFECT RECIPE FOR WHAT WE'RE THINKING OF. BUT TO MAKE A TREAT THAT'S EXTRA SWEET YOU'VE GOT TO ADD SOME LOVE.

The kittens roll their dough with rolling pins. Mustard spins her dough like pizza dough.

The kittens and their friends sing, WE'RE BAKING COOKIES FOR GRANDMA'S DAY BECAUSE WE LOVE YOU AND WE WANT TO SAY, GRANDMA, WE THINK YOU'RE THE BEST, JUST IN CASE YOU HADN'T GUESSED.

Each of the kittens has a heart-shaped cookie on a cutting board. They hold up their hands and then push a paw print into the middle of their cookie. Daddy Cat puts a baking tray with the cookies into the oven.

The kittens and their friends sing, OH, OH, OH, OH, OH, OH, OH, OH, OH.
GRANDMA YOU'RE THE BEST.

[Rock music ends]

Later, the families meet their Grandmas at the park. Each child holds a cookie necklace with their paw print in the centre.

[Birds chirping]

Candy says, HAPPY GRANDMA'S DAY! WE MADE YOU SPECIAL NECKLACES. SEE?

Mustard says, AND THERE'S ONE FOR EVERYONE.

Cookie says, WE WANT YOU TO KNOW HOW SPECIAL YOU ARE.

[Families clapping, upbeat music plays]

[Grandmas laughing]

[Happy music plays]

The kittens say, SO AWESOME.

They hold hands and sing, MEWOW, MEWOW, MEWOW, MEWOW!

The families connect their picnic blankets and eat together.

[Upbeat music continues]
