The narrator says, FRIENDSHIP IS A TREASURE. IT TAKES EFFORT TO BE A GOOD FRIEND. FRANKIE IS PLANNING A GATHERING FOR HER FRIENDS, A TEA PARTY.
By her pink house, Frankie, a beige guinea pig, wears a pink hat with a feather and white ribbon.
Frankie says, I MISS SEEING MY FRIENDS SO MUCH. EVERYONE IS SO BUSY THESE DAYS. I'VE DECIDED TO HOST A TEA PARTY. I MADE INVITATIONS AND DELIVERED THEM THIS MORNING.
In his house, Harry, a dark grey and white guinea pig, lies on a bed. He wears a top hat.
A TEA PARTY. I HOPE THERE ARE DONUTS. R.S.V.P. PLEASE. HMM. I WONDER WHAT R.S.V.P. MEANS?
I'VE ASKED MY FRIENDS FOR AN R.S.V.P. THAT MEANS RESPOND S'IL VOUS PLAÎT, WHICH IS FRENCH FOR LET ME KNOW IF YOU'RE COMING OR NOT.
The narrator says, DOWN THE STREET AT SKIP'S HOUSE. IT LOOKS LIKE HIS INVITATION HAS ARRIVED TOO.
In his house, Skip, a small, scruffy brown guinea pig, looks at his invitation.
Skip says, OH, A TEA PARTY. I SHOULD PUT THAT IN MY CALENDAR SO I WON'T FORGET. I'LL WRITE IT DOWN LATER.
The narrator says, NEXT DOOR, SISTERS CLOVER AND GINGER ARE RESTING. CLOVER JUST PLAYED A SOCCER GAME AND GINGER PLAYED BASKETBALL.
Clover and Ginger, both guinea pigs, rest on their beds. Clover has white, orange, and grey fur. Ginger has orange and white fur.
Clover asks, HEY, GINGER, DID YOU SEE THE INVITATION FROM FRANKIE?
Ginger says, YEAH, BUT I'M NOT REALLY INTERESTED IN TEA PARTIES. IT'S NOT MY THING.
Clover says, BUT SHE'S OUR FRIEND.
Ginger says, THEN SHE SHOULD KNOW THAT I CAN'T SIT STILL IN A TEA ROOM. ALL I WILL THINK ABOUT IS BOUNCE, BOUNCE, SHOOT ON THE BASKETBALL COURT.
A photograph shows Ginger leaping towards a basketball net with a ball in her paws.
[Crowd cheering]
Clover says, YOU CAN'T PLAY BASKETBALL IN A TEA ROOM. THAT WOULD BE LIKE HAVING A BULL IN A CHINA SHOP. NOT A GOOD IDEA, GINGER.
[Dishes shattering]
Ginger says, EXACTLY. NO TIME FOR TEA TIME.
Clover says, OKAY, WELL. I'LL GO.
The narrator says, IT'S SUNDAY AND NEARLY 4:00. TODAY IS FRANKIE'S TEA PARTY.
Frankie looks at the decorations for the tea party in her house.
Frankie says, OH, WOW. IT LOOKS SO BEAUTIFUL. WHAT A LOVELY PLACE TO GATHER WITH MY FRIENDS. I AM SO EXCITED.
Frankie says, HELLO, HARRY. HOW ARE YOU TODAY?
Harry says, I'M HUNGRY AND THIRSTY. WHAT IS THERE TO EAT?
Frankie says, IT'S GREAT TO SEE YOU, HARRY. HMM. I WONDER WHO ELSE IS COMING. I DIDN'T GET AN R.S.V.P. FROM ANYONE, SO I ASSUME THEY'LL ALL SHOW UP.
In his house, Skip lies curled up beneath his blanket.
The narrator says, OH, NO. IT SEEMS SKIP HAS FORGOTTEN ABOUT THE PARTY.
[Skip yawning]
At Frankie’s house, Clover sits alone at a table.
Frankie says, HELLO, CLOVER. WELCOME TO THE TEA PARTY. WOULD YOU LIKE TO JOIN HARRY AND I?
Clover says, NO, THANKS. I'D PREFER TO SIT ALONE. I'M QUITE TIRED FROM MY SOCCER GAME. OH, BY THE WAY, GINGER'S NOT COMING.
Harry says, ARE THERE MORE DONUTS? I'M STILL HUNGRY.
[Munching]
Frankie says, HEY, THAT WAS MY TREAT.
[Munching]
Harry says, I LOVE DONUTS.
Frankie says, HARRY, WHAT ARE YOU DOING? THIS IS NOT HOW I IMAGINED MY TEA PARTY TO BE.
Harry jumps off a chair and searches on the floor.
[Boinging]
Harry says, JACKPOT. FOUND SOME.
Clover asks, WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO GET SOME PEACE AND QUIET AROUND HERE?
The narrator says, IT SEEMS THE TEA PARTY IS A BIT OF A DISASTER.
[Frankie sighing]
Harry asks, WHAT'S WRONG FRANKIE? YOU LOOK UPSET.
[Gentle music plays]
Frankie says, I'M DISAPPOINTED, THAT'S ALL. I WAS REALLY HOPING TO ENJOY SOME TIME WITH MY FRIENDS.
Clover says, YOU'RE RIGHT, FRANKIE. CAN WE START AGAIN?
Harry says, LET'S DO THAT. THANKS FOR HOSTING THIS PARTY, FRANKIE. AND THANK YOU FOR ALL THE DELICIOUS DONUTS.
Frankie says, YOU'RE WELCOME.
Clover says, I'M SORRY I WAS LATE.
Frankie says, THAT'S OKAY CLOVER. I'M JUST GLAD YOU'RE HERE.
Clover asks, SO WHAT'S NEW WITH YOU?
Frankie says, WELL, I'VE BEEN REHEARSING FOR MY DANCE SHOW.
Harry says, I'VE BEEN WORKING ON A NEW MAGIC TRICK.
Frankie asks, HOW WAS YOUR SOCCER GAME, CLOVER?
Clover says, IT WAS A GREAT MATCH. I SCORED A GOAL.
Frankie says, BRAVO! NOW THIS IS WHAT I CALL A TEA PARTY WITH MY FRIENDS. THANK YOU FOR COMING. I CAN'T WAIT TO DO THIS AGAIN.
[Giggling]
The narrator says, FOR CLOVER, FRANKIE AND HARRY. A LITTLE TEA, SOME TASTY TREATS AND GOOD CONVERSATION WAS JUST WHAT THEIR FRIENDSHIP NEEDED.
Outside, Skip says, FRANKIE. FRANKIE! I'M COMING. SAVE SOME TEA FOR ME.
