Skip stands on a platform in town.
Skip announces, CITIZENS OF HAPPY PLACE, I HAVE AN ANNOUNCEMENT. THIS SATURDAY, RIGHT HERE AT THE TOWN HALL, WILL BE THE ANNUAL HAPPY PLACE ART SHOW.
Citizens cheer, HOORAY! YAY! WOOHOO!
Skip says, EVERYONE IS INVITED TO DISPLAY THEIR ARTWORK.
The narrator says, THE HAPPY PLACE MUDDLE ARE EAGER TO GET TO WORK ON THEIR ART PROJECTS.
Frankie says, I LOVE MAKING ART.
Harry says, THIS IS GOING TO BE FUN.
Mr. Radish says, I CONSIDER MYSELF SOMEWHAT OF AN ARTIST.
Mr. Radish imagines himself standing in front of an easel, wearing a black beret and holding a paint palette and a large paintbrush.
[Boinging, upbeat music continues]
Mr. Radish says, THIS WILL BE A CHANCE TO SHOW OFF MY FINEST WORK.
The narrator says, THE GUINEA PIGS HAVE ONE WEEK TO COMPLETE THEIR PROJECTS FOR THE ART SHOW. HARRY AND FRANKIE ARE HARD AT WORK.
In the Town Hall, Harry and Frankie sit at desks. Harry has a notepad, an empty palette, and pencil crayons on his desk. Frankie has jars of paint, and a posable artist mannequin on her desk.
Harry asks, WHAT ARE YOU MAKING, FRANKIE?
Frankie replies, IT'S A SURPRISE.
Harry says, GIVE ME A HINT.
Frankie says, OKAY. IT'S THE COLOR PINK.
Harry says, HUH? I COULD HAVE GUESSED THAT.
Frankie says, BUT YOU'LL HAVE TO WAIT FOR THE ART SHOW TO SEE IT. WHAT ARE YOU MAKING?
Harry says, YOU'LL HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL THE SHOW.
In centre of town, bubbles float in the stream.
[Water gushing]
The narrator says, IT'S SATURDAY, THE DAY OF THE HAPPY PLACE ART SHOW. EVERYONE HAS BEEN WORKING ON THEIR ART PROJECTS. WELL ALMOST EVERYONE.
In his bedroom, Skip lies curled up beneath a blanket on his bed. A toy train is parked on a track in the middle of his room.
[Skip yawning]
Skip says, I LOVE SLEEPING IN ON SATURDAYS. WAIT, IS IT SATURDAY? IT'S THE DAY OF THE ART SHOW AND I HAVEN'T EVEN THOUGHT ABOUT MY ART PROJECT. I SHOULD HAVE PUT IT IN MY CALENDAR. OH, NO. I'LL NEED TO MAKE SOMETHING QUICKLY.
At the Town Hall, Frankie and Harry sit at their desks. Easels display canvasses around the room.
[Upbeat music continues, stream gushing]
The narrator says, AT THE TOWN HALL, THE GUINEA PIGS HAVE PUT THEIR WORK ON DISPLAY FOR EVERYONE TO SEE.
Frankie says, I MADE MY ARTWORK USING A DAHLIA, MY FAVORITE FLOWER.
Ginger says, HOW INSPIRING. I MADE A PORTRAIT OF MY SISTER.
Clover says, I LOVE IT. IT LOOKS JUST LIKE ME. I MADE A COLLAGE. I USED SOME RIBBON I HAD LYING AROUND.
Mr. Radish says, OH, IT'S MAGNIFICENT.
Clover says, THANK YOU. WHAT DID YOU MAKE, MR. RADISH?
Mr. Radish says, I PAINTED A LANDSCAPE IN THE IMPRESSIONISTIC STYLE OF MONET. NOTICE THE USE OF LIGHT, COLOR, AND LOOSE BRUSHWORK.
Harry looks at the painting of flowers and plants around a stream.
Harry says, IT'S UH...NICE. WELL, I MADE A SCULPTURE OF TWO BABY BIRDS THAT I SAW FROM MY BEDROOM WINDOW.
The sculpture features a nest holding a small yellow bird and a green bird with their mouths open.
Frankie says, IT'S REALLY BEAUTIFUL, HARRY.
Harry says, WELL, I GUESS THAT'S ALL THE ART.
The narrator says, WAIT, THERE'S ONE MORE PIECE OF ART.
An apple and a small rock have googly eyes.
[Tense music plays quietly]
Harry asks, WHAT'S THAT?
Skip says, IT'S MY ART. I MADE IT.
Harry says, UH, I DON'T GET IT, SKIP.
Frankie says, I THINK IT'S QUITE CLEVER, ACTUALLY.
Harry says, CLEVER? IT'S HIS LEFTOVER LUNCH AND A ROCK FROM THE DITCH.
Harry says, IT'S BORING.
Frankie says, YOU DON'T HAVE TO LIKE IT, HARRY. BUT SKIP MADE THE EFFORT TO CREATE IT AND PUT IT ON DISPLAY.
[Harry laughing]
Harry says, KNOW ART, AND THAT'S NOT ART.
Frankie says, I THINK IT'S AWESOME.
Harry says, ULGH! IT'S UGLY.
Frankie says, UGH. HARRY. ART IS VERY PERSONAL. THERE'S NO RIGHT OR WRONG WAY TO MAKE ART.
[Upbeat music plays, water gushing, birds chirping]
The narrator says, LATER, THE CITIZENS OF HAPPY PLACE CAME TOGETHER AND AGREED. BEAUTY REALLY IS IN THE EYE OF THE BEHOLDER, MEANING EVERYONE HAS THEIR OWN TASTE IN ART.
Ginger eats Skip’s apple.
[Lips smacking]
Ginger says, I MUST SAY... FINE ART THAT YOU CAN EAT... NOW THAT'S CREATIVE. AND SKIP'S MASTERPIECE IS DELICIOUS.
Skip says, WHY THANK YOU. I WHIPPED THAT UP THIS MORNING.
[Upbeat music plays]
