He frantically rolls back and forth across the grass.
[Messy yelping]
Messy lies on the grass with the feather on his forehead.
[Messy groaning]
Messy sits up and says, UGH.
He looks around.
Messy says, WHAT IS IT?
IT'S SO TICKLY!
He blows at the feather.
[Messy blowing]
[Wind gusting]
A gust of wind blows the feather off Messy’s nose. Messy scowls at the feather.
Messy grumbles, UGH.
HMM.
The feather falls toward Messy.
Messy yelps, OH!
He runs and hides behind a flowerpot.
[Messy groaning]
[Wind gusting]
Messy dodges the feather. He peaks past the flowerpot, and the feather falls on his back.
Messy groans, UGH!
He reaches for the feather and shivers.
Messy says, NOW, I'VE GOT AN ITCH!
He jumps high and lands in the grass a step ahead.
[Messy wailing]
Messy says, I CAN'T REACH.
[Messy shivering]
Messy wails, EEE-HEE-HEE!
[Messy groaning]
Messy flips and tries to scratch his back.
[Messy wailing]
Messy says, IT'S REALLY ITCHY!
His eye twitches.
Messy says, WHY DO ITCHES ITCH?
HMM.
WHEN YOU NEED TO KNOW, GO TO
OKIDO!
[Magical music plays]
A green and white tunnel transports Messy to Okido, where he falls through the sky onto spring platforms and off a trampoline toward Felix and Zoe’s house. Outside the house, Felix and Zoe work in a garden. Zoom hovers near Felix. Messy lands in the garden and runs around.
Messy says, WOO-HOO-HOO!
WHOA-HO.
OOH!
He stops between Zoe and Felix.
Messy says, I'VE GOT A HORRIBLE ITCHY ITCH!
I'M TRYING TO RUN AWAY FROM IT,
BUT IT KEEPS FOLLOWING ME
WHEREVER I GO.
[Felix laughing]
Felix says, YOU CAN'T RUN AWAY FROM AN
ITCH, MESSY!
Messy tries to scratch his back with his tail.
He says, I WANT TO SCRATCH IT, BUT I
CAN'T REACH.
[Zoom chittering]
Zoom transforms into a back scratcher and scratches Messy’s back.
Messy says, AH.
OH, THAT'S GOOD.
UP A BIT.
Zoom scratches Messy’s upper back.
Messy says, LEFT A BIT.
YES, THAT'S IT.
AHA.
OH!
[Messy sighing]
Zoom stops scratching.
Messy says, THANKS, ZOOM.
OOH!
YOU MADE MY ITCH GO AWAY.
Zoom transforms back to his normal shape.
Messy asks, WHY DO ITCHES ITCH?
Zoe says, I DON'T KNOW.
DO YOU, FELIX?
Felix says, NO, BUT FARMER FUDDLE MIGHT.
THE FARM ANIMALS ARE ALWAYS
SCRATCHING THEMSELVES.

Messy says, OH, YEAH!
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE THE FARM!
[Messy whistling]
Okidoodle rolls out of the garage attached to the house.
[Okidoodle honking]
Messy says, LET'S SKIDOODLE, OKIDOODLE!
Okidoodle stops beside the garden. Messy and Zoom hop in and drive away. Zoe and Felix wave. At Farmer Fuddle’s farm, Farmer Fuddle drives a tractor. Messy pulls up beside him.
Messy says, HEY, FARMER FUDDLE.
DO YOU KNOW WHY ITCHES ITCH?
Farmer Fuddle says, HMM.
[Zoom chittering]
Farmer Fuddle says, NEVER REALLY THOUGHT ABOUT IT,
MESSY.
Messy looks down the path ahead.
He says, OH, OH!
THERE'S ZIM AND ZAM.
I'LL ASK THEM.
Messy continues down the path. Famer Fuddle stops the tractor. In a chicken coop, Zam walks in with a basket.
[Chickens clucking to the tune of Old MacDonald]
Zam says, OH.
She grabs an egg from a chicken.
[Zam giggling]
[Chickens clucking]
Zam walks out of the chicken coop.
[Zam laughing]
Zim stands by the coop.
Zam says, I'VE GOT ONE!
Zim says, MARVELLOUS.
WE'LL SOON HAVE –
[Chickens squawking]
Zim and Zam turn to the nearby path. Messy drives up to the chicken coop fence and hops out of Okidoodle. Zoom follows him through a gate.
Messy says, ZIM AND ZAM, I'VE GOT A
QUESTION!
[Chickens clucking]
Messy asks, WHY DO ITCHES ITCH?
Zim says, HMM.
IT'S A GOOD QUESTION, MESSY.
Zam says, A VERY GOOD QUESTION.
Messy says, YES, YES.
SO, WHAT'S THE ANSWER?
Zim says, NOBODY KNOWS.
Messy says, WHAT?
HOW DOES THAT MAKE IT A GOOD
QUESTION?
Zam says, WELL, THERE'S LOTS OF THINGS
IN SCIENCE WE DON'T UNDERSTAND,
MESSY.
Zim says, THAT'S WHAT MAKES IT SO

She grabs a feather off the ground.
Zam says, NOW, GIVE ME YOUR PAW.
[Zam giggling]
Messy gives Zam his paw. Zam tickles Messy’s paw with the feather.
Zam says, YES, YOU SEE?
SO, WHEN THE FEATHER TICKLES
YOU, YOUR SKIN SENDS A MESSAGE
TO YOUR BRAIN.
[Messy giggling]
Zam says, THEN, YOUR BRAIN MAKES YOUR SKIN
FEEL ITCHY, AND THAT MAKES YOU
WANT TO SCRATCH.
Messy says, TO GET RID OF THE TICKLY
THING!
Zam stops tickling Messy.
She says, EXACTLY.
Messy holds Zam’s feather.
Messy asks, SO, WHY ARE THE CHICKENS
SCRATCHING THE GROUND?
IS THE GROUND ITCHY, TOO?
Chickens outside the coop scratch the grass with their feet.
Zim says, NO.
THEY'RE JUST LOOKING FOR THINGS
TO EAT.
Messy tickles his paw with the feather.
He says, OH.
MY PAW DOES FEEL ITCHY NOW!
Messy blows the feather away and scratches his paw.
[Messy sighing]
Messy says, THAT'S BETTER.
[Messy sighing]
The feather lands on Messy’s back.
Messy says, BUT NOW, I'VE GOT AN ITCH ON MY
BACK!
He jumps around and reaches for the feather.
[Zam chuckling]
[Donkey braying]
A donkey scratches his face on the fence gate.
Messy says, OOH.
THAT LOOKS NICE.
He scratches his back on the gate.
Messy says, OOH.
MMM.
AH.
OH, THAT'S BETTER.
He pushes the gate open and leans against it.
[Messy sighing]
Farmer Fuddle yells, OI!
He runs down the path toward the chicken coop.
[Chickens clucking]
[Messy sighing]
Messy lies down in the open gate.
Farmer Fuddle yells, SHUT THAT GATE!
STOP THOSE CHICKENS!
A chicken waves toward the gate. One after another, the chickens run through the open gate and past Messy.
Messy says, OOPS.
An egg breaks against Messy’s face.
Messy grunts, UGH.
[Zoom chittering]
The chickens run away and down the path. They throw eggs at the feet of Messy, Zam, Zim, and Farmer Fuddle in the gate.
[Eggs splattering]
Messy says, OH, NO.
THE CHICKENS HAVE GOT OUT.
DON'T WORRY!
WE'LL ROUND THEM UP FOR YOU.
In Okidoodle, Messy races after the chickens with Zoom.
[Okidoodle honking]
In the city, Messy is stopped at a crosswalk while a line of chickens slowly crosses the road.
[Chickens clucking]
Messy groans, COME ON.
COME ON, COME ON.
[Zoom chittering]
Messy says, WE CAN'T GO TILL THE LIGHT
CHANGES, ZOOM.
[Chickens clucking]
[Inquisitive music plays]
On a sidewalk, a chicken peaks past a sign.
[Chicken clucking]
The chicken pops out from behind the sign.
[Chicken squawking]
At Geoffrey’s ice cream shop, Mayor Oki’s mother sits at a table outside with a bowl of ice cream.
From afar, Messy says, AHA!
A chicken stands in Mayor Oki’s mother’s hat.
Messy says, AHA!
Messy and Zoom sit at a table near Mayor Oki’s mother with a pair of binoculars. Messy and Zoom share a look and nod.
[Zoom chittering]
Messy steps off his seat. Mayor Oki’s mother lifts a spoonful of ice cream toward her mouth.
Mayor Oki’s mother says, AH.
Messy leaps over Mayor Oki’s mother’s hat and grabs the chicken.
[Chicken clucking]
Messy hovers over the table. Messy falls and drops the chicken.
[Messy yelping]
[Mayor Oki’s mother yelping]
[Cutlery clattering]
Geoffrey walks out of the shop with a tall bowl of ice cream. He slips and falls on melted ice cream. The ice cream flies out of his paw and lands on his face.
[Splattering]
Messy stumbles upright on Mayor Oki’s mother’s table with her ice cream on his head.
Messy says, OOPS.
SORRY, GEOFFREY.
ZOOM, GET THAT CHICKEN!
Messy and Zoom chase a chicken across a road.
[Zoom chittering]
Geoffrey tries to sit up with an ice cream cone on his nose and falls. Across another road, a chicken stands on a sidewalk light post. Messy climbs up the light post. The chicken leaps off, and Messy falls.
[Messy yelping]
Zoom follows Messy down a sidewalk. Three chickens appear behind them as they look around.
[Chickens clucking]
Messy and Zoom chase Okidoodle down a street. Three chickens ride on Okidoodle’s roof.
[Okidoodle whirring]
[Chickens clucking]
Later in the day, Messy looks tired.
[Messy panting]
Messy jumps onto a bus stop bench with Zoom. A chicken runs past them.
[Chicken clucking]
Messy glances at Zoom, and they chase after the chicken.
[Zoom chittering]
In Mayor Oki’s apartment, Mayor Oki plays a tuba in the bathtub.
[Tuba notes play]
A chicken jumps through an open window and falls into the tuba. Mayor Oki blows hard into the tuba mouthpiece.
[Loud tuba note plays]
Mayor Oki blows the chicken out of the tuba.
[Chicken clucking]
The chicken flies out the window. Mayor Oki pulls an egg out of the tuba.
[Mayor Oki gasping]
On an island with Vivienne, a volcano, the chicken crashes into Vivienne.
[Explosion]
[Chicken clucking]
The chicken stands at the top of the volcano. Chicken feathers rain down around the volcano.
Vivienne says, HELLO.
WHO ARE YOU?
The ground shakes.
[Banging]
[Chicken clucking]
The chicken flies away.
Vivienne says, OH, WAIT!
YOU FORGOT YOUR FEATHERS!
Vivienne shivers.
Vivienne says, OH.

[Explosion]
Clouds of smoke erupt from Vivienne.

THESE CHICKEN FEATHERS!
Messy says, IF I WERE YOU, I'D HAVE A
GOOD OLD SCRATCH.
[Zoom chittering]
Vivienne says, OH, MESSY, I'VE GOT NO ARMS!
[Vivienne groaning]
Vivienne shivers, and the ground shakes. Messy falls.
Messy says, YOU COULD SCRATCH ON A POST
LIKE A DONKEY!
THAT'S WHAT I DID.
Vivienne says, I CAN'T DO THAT, EITHER,
MESSY.
I'M A VOLCANO.
I CAN'T MOVE!
The ground shakes as Vivienne shivers.
Vivienne groans, OOH!
[Zoom chittering]
Messy picks up a feather on Vivienne’s beach.
Messy asks, IS THIS THE ITCHY SPOT,
VIVIENNE?
He scratches the spot under the feather.
Vivienne says, OH, YES!
[Zoom chittering]
Zoom transforms into a back scratcher. Messy collects feathers on the beach.
Vivienne says THAT'S IT.
As a back scratcher, Zoom scratches Vivienne.
Vivienne says, NO.
UP A BIT.
DOWN A BIT.
Zoom scratches around the feathers on Vivienne.
Vivienne says, LEFT.

RIGHT!
She shakes.
[Vivienne groaning]

Messy’s jaw drops as a chicken walks across the beach.

Messy puts down a ball of feathers.

The chicken hops across the beach.

The chicken stops and turns toward Messy. Messy kneels beside the chicken. In his normal shape, Zoom hovers beside the chicken.
Messy says, OOH!
I CAN SPEAK CHICKEN!
Messy cheers, BA-LA-BA-LA BOOM-BOOM!
[Messy and the chicken clucking]
Messy flaps his arms like a chicken’s wing and stands on one foot while kicking the other.
Messy says, I NEED YOU TO DO THAT SCRATCHY
THING YOU DO.
[Messy clucking]

The chicken scratches the sand with its feet.
Vivienne says, OH, THAT'S IT.
RIGHT A BIT.

The chicken scratches the side of Vivienne.

COVERED IN LAVA!

Messy looks thoughtful.

In front of a flock of chickens, Messy moves like a chicken scratching the ground with its feet.

The chickens scratch and peck the ground.
[Zoom chittering]
Zoom transforms into a megaphone.
Messy says, GREAT IDEA, ZOOM.
He clucks like a chicken into Zoom.

The chickens on the beach march across the sand in sync.

Messy points toward Vivienne. The chickens hop up Vivienne and start scratching with their feet and beaks. Vivienne smiles.

Messy picks up feathers on the beach.

Messy leads the chickens to a trailer on Farmer Fuddle’s tractor.

Messy tries to scratch his back with his tail.
He says, I WANT TO SCRATCH IT, BUT I
CAN'T REACH.
[Zoom chittering]
Zoom transforms into a back scratcher and scratches Messy’s back.
Messy says, AH.
OH, THAT'S GOOD.
UP A BIT.
Zoom scratches Messy’s upper back.
Messy says, LEFT A BIT.
YES, THAT'S IT.
AHA.
OH!
[Messy sighing]
Zoom stops scratching.
Messy says, THANKS, ZOOM.
OOH!
YOU MADE MY ITCH GO AWAY.
Zoom transforms back to his normal shape.
Messy asks, WHY DO ITCHES ITCH?
Zoe says, I DON'T KNOW.
DO YOU, FELIX?
Felix says, NO, BUT FARMER FUDDLE MIGHT.
THE FARM ANIMALS ARE ALWAYS
SCRATCHING THEMSELVES.
WHY DON'T YOU ASK HIM?
Messy says, OH, YEAH!
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE THE FARM!
[Messy whistling]
Okidoodle rolls out of the garage attached to the house.
[Okidoodle honking]
Messy says, LET'S SKIDOODLE, OKIDOODLE!
Okidoodle stops beside the garden. Messy and Zoom hop in and drive away. Zoe and Felix wave. At Farmer Fuddle’s farm, Farmer Fuddle drives a tractor. Messy pulls up beside him.
Messy says, HEY, FARMER FUDDLE.
DO YOU KNOW WHY ITCHES ITCH?
Farmer Fuddle says, HMM.
[Zoom chittering]
Farmer Fuddle says, NEVER REALLY THOUGHT ABOUT IT,
MESSY.
Messy looks down the path ahead.
He says, OH, OH!
THERE'S ZIM AND ZAM.
I'LL ASK THEM.
Messy continues down the path. Famer Fuddle stops the tractor. In a chicken coop, Zam walks in with a basket.
[Chickens clucking to the tune of Old MacDonald]
Zam says, OH.
She grabs an egg from a chicken.
[Zam giggling]
[Chickens clucking]
Zam walks out of the chicken coop.
[Zam laughing]
Zim stands by the coop.
Zam says, I'VE GOT ONE!
Zim says, MARVELLOUS.
WE'LL SOON HAVE –
[Chickens squawking]
Zim and Zam turn to the nearby path. Messy drives up to the chicken coop fence and hops out of Okidoodle. Zoom follows him through a gate.
Messy says, ZIM AND ZAM, I'VE GOT A
QUESTION!
[Chickens clucking]
Messy asks, WHY DO ITCHES ITCH?
Zim says, HMM.
IT'S A GOOD QUESTION, MESSY.
Zam says, A VERY GOOD QUESTION.
Messy says, YES, YES.
SO, WHAT'S THE ANSWER?
Zim says, NOBODY KNOWS.
Messy says, WHAT?
HOW DOES THAT MAKE IT A GOOD
QUESTION?
Zam says, WELL, THERE'S LOTS OF THINGS
IN SCIENCE WE DON'T UNDERSTAND,
MESSY.
Zim says, THAT'S WHAT MAKES IT SO
EXCITING!
Messy says, SO, YOU HAVE NO IDEA AT ALL
WHY ITCHES ITCH?
Zim says, WE HAVE SOME IDEA.
Zam says, WE THINK IT'S TO DO WITH
GETTING RID OF TICKLY THINGS ON
YOUR SKIN, LIKE THIS.
She grabs a feather off the ground.
Zam says, NOW, GIVE ME YOUR PAW.
[Zam giggling]
Messy gives Zam his paw. Zam tickles Messy’s paw with the feather.
Zam says, YES, YOU SEE?
SO, WHEN THE FEATHER TICKLES
YOU, YOUR SKIN SENDS A MESSAGE
TO YOUR BRAIN.
[Messy giggling]
Zam says, THEN, YOUR BRAIN MAKES YOUR SKIN
FEEL ITCHY, AND THAT MAKES YOU
WANT TO SCRATCH.
Messy says, TO GET RID OF THE TICKLY
THING!
Zam stops tickling Messy.
She says, EXACTLY.
Messy holds Zam’s feather.
Messy asks, SO, WHY ARE THE CHICKENS
SCRATCHING THE GROUND?
IS THE GROUND ITCHY, TOO?
Chickens outside the coop scratch the grass with their feet.
Zim says, NO.
THEY'RE JUST LOOKING FOR THINGS
TO EAT.
Messy tickles his paw with the feather.
He says, OH.
MY PAW DOES FEEL ITCHY NOW!
Messy blows the feather away and scratches his paw.
[Messy sighing]
Messy says, THAT'S BETTER.
[Messy sighing]
The feather lands on Messy’s back.
Messy says, BUT NOW, I'VE GOT AN ITCH ON MY
BACK!
He jumps around and reaches for the feather.
[Zam chuckling]
[Donkey braying]
A donkey scratches his face on the fence gate.
Messy says, OOH.
THAT LOOKS NICE.
He scratches his back on the gate.
Messy says, OOH.
MMM.
AH.
OH, THAT'S BETTER.
He pushes the gate open and leans against it.
[Messy sighing]
Farmer Fuddle yells, OI!
He runs down the path toward the chicken coop.
[Chickens clucking]
[Messy sighing]
Messy lies down in the open gate.
Farmer Fuddle yells, SHUT THAT GATE!
STOP THOSE CHICKENS!
A chicken waves toward the gate. One after another, the chickens run through the open gate and past Messy.
Messy says, OOPS.
An egg breaks against Messy’s face.
Messy grunts, UGH.
[Zoom chittering]
The chickens run away and down the path. They throw eggs at the feet of Messy, Zam, Zim, and Farmer Fuddle in the gate.
[Eggs splattering]
Messy says, OH, NO.
THE CHICKENS HAVE GOT OUT.
DON'T WORRY!
WE'LL ROUND THEM UP FOR YOU.
In Okidoodle, Messy races after the chickens with Zoom.
[Okidoodle honking]
In the city, Messy is stopped at a crosswalk while a line of chickens slowly crosses the road.
[Chickens clucking]
Messy groans, COME ON.
COME ON, COME ON.
[Zoom chittering]
Messy says, WE CAN'T GO TILL THE LIGHT
CHANGES, ZOOM.
[Chickens clucking]
[Inquisitive music plays]
On a sidewalk, a chicken peaks past a sign.
[Chicken clucking]
The chicken pops out from behind the sign.
[Chicken squawking]
At Geoffrey’s ice cream shop, Mayor Oki’s mother sits at a table outside with a bowl of ice cream.
From afar, Messy says, AHA!
A chicken stands in Mayor Oki’s mother’s hat.
Messy says, AHA!
Messy and Zoom sit at a table near Mayor Oki’s mother with a pair of binoculars. Messy and Zoom share a look and nod.
[Zoom chittering]
Messy steps off his seat. Mayor Oki’s mother lifts a spoonful of ice cream toward her mouth.
Mayor Oki’s mother says, AH.
Messy leaps over Mayor Oki’s mother’s hat and grabs the chicken.
[Chicken clucking]
Messy hovers over the table. Messy falls and drops the chicken.
[Messy yelping]
[Mayor Oki’s mother yelping]
[Cutlery clattering]
Geoffrey walks out of the shop with a tall bowl of ice cream. He slips and falls on melted ice cream. The ice cream flies out of his paw and lands on his face.
[Splattering]
Messy stumbles upright on Mayor Oki’s mother’s table with her ice cream on his head.
Messy says, OOPS.
SORRY, GEOFFREY.
ZOOM, GET THAT CHICKEN!
Messy and Zoom chase a chicken across a road.
[Zoom chittering]
Geoffrey tries to sit up with an ice cream cone on his nose and falls. Across another road, a chicken stands on a sidewalk light post. Messy climbs up the light post. The chicken leaps off, and Messy falls.
[Messy yelping]
Zoom follows Messy down a sidewalk. Three chickens appear behind them as they look around.
[Chickens clucking]
Messy and Zoom chase Okidoodle down a street. Three chickens ride on Okidoodle’s roof.
[Okidoodle whirring]
[Chickens clucking]
Later in the day, Messy looks tired.
[Messy panting]
Messy jumps onto a bus stop bench with Zoom. A chicken runs past them.
[Chicken clucking]
Messy glances at Zoom, and they chase after the chicken.
[Zoom chittering]
In Mayor Oki’s apartment, Mayor Oki plays a tuba in the bathtub.
[Tuba notes play]
A chicken jumps through an open window and falls into the tuba. Mayor Oki blows hard into the tuba mouthpiece.
[Loud tuba note plays]
Mayor Oki blows the chicken out of the tuba.
[Chicken clucking]
The chicken flies out the window. Mayor Oki pulls an egg out of the tuba.
[Mayor Oki gasping]
On an island with Vivienne, a volcano, the chicken crashes into Vivienne.
[Explosion]
[Chicken clucking]
The chicken stands at the top of the volcano. Chicken feathers rain down around the volcano.
Vivienne says, HELLO.
WHO ARE YOU?
The ground shakes.
[Banging]
[Chicken clucking]
The chicken flies away.
Vivienne says, OH, WAIT!
YOU FORGOT YOUR FEATHERS!
Vivienne shivers.
Vivienne says, OH.
TICKLY.
OH.
ITCHY.
OOH!
[Explosion]
Clouds of smoke erupt from Vivienne.
Vivienne says, OH…
In the city, the ground shakes.
[Messy yelping]
[Zoom chittering]
[Messy gasping]
Messy says, IT'S VIVIENNE VOLCANO!
SHE SOUNDS GRUMPY.
WE CAN CHEER HER UP.
[Zoom chittering]
On Vivienne’s island, Messy looks up at Vivienne.
Messy asks, WHAT'S THE MATTER, VIVIENNE?
HAVE YOU GOT A SORE TUMMY?
Vivienne says, NO.
I'M TERRIBLY ITCHY FROM ALL
THESE CHICKEN FEATHERS!
Messy says, IF I WERE YOU, I'D HAVE A
GOOD OLD SCRATCH.
[Zoom chittering]
Vivienne says, OH, MESSY, I'VE GOT NO ARMS!
[Vivienne groaning]
Vivienne shivers, and the ground shakes. Messy falls.
Messy says, YOU COULD SCRATCH ON A POST
LIKE A DONKEY!
THAT'S WHAT I DID.
Vivienne says, I CAN'T DO THAT, EITHER,
MESSY.
I'M A VOLCANO.
I CAN'T MOVE!
The ground shakes as Vivienne shivers.
Vivienne groans, OOH!
[Zoom chittering]
Messy picks up a feather on Vivienne’s beach.
Messy asks, IS THIS THE ITCHY SPOT,
VIVIENNE?
He scratches the spot under the feather.
Vivienne says, OH, YES!
[Zoom chittering]
Zoom transforms into a back scratcher. Messy collects feathers on the beach.
Vivienne says THAT'S IT.
As a back scratcher, Zoom scratches Vivienne.
Vivienne says, NO.
UP A BIT.
DOWN A BIT.
Zoom scratches around the feathers on Vivienne.
Vivienne says, LEFT.
NO, NO.
RIGHT!
She shakes.
[Vivienne groaning]
Messy says, KEEP SCRATCHING, ZOOM!
Zoom scratches a feather on Vivienne.
Vivienne says, OH, IT'S NO GOOD.
THE FEATHERS ARE EVERYWHERE!
Messy’s jaw drops as a chicken walks across the beach.
[Chicken clucking]
Messy puts down a ball of feathers.
He says, HELLO?
CHICKEN?
COME AND HELP!
HEY, CHICKIE?
The chicken hops across the beach.
Messy says, CHICK-CHICK-CHICK CHICKIE-POO?
[Messy clucking like a chicken]
The chicken stops and turns toward Messy. Messy kneels beside the chicken. In his normal shape, Zoom hovers beside the chicken.
Messy says, OOH!
I CAN SPEAK CHICKEN!
Messy cheers, BA-LA-BA-LA BOOM-BOOM!
[Messy and the chicken clucking]
Messy flaps his arms like a chicken’s wing and stands on one foot while kicking the other.
Messy says, I NEED YOU TO DO THAT SCRATCHY
THING YOU DO.
[Messy clucking]
[Chicken clucking]
The chicken scratches the sand with its feet.
Vivienne says, OH, THAT'S IT.
RIGHT A BIT.
OH!
The chicken scratches the side of Vivienne.
[Vivienne groaning]
Messy says, VIVIENNE IS GOING TO
BLOW UP, AND OKIDO WILL BE
COVERED IN LAVA!
THERE'S TOO MANY ITCHY BITS FOR
ONE CHICKEN.
Messy looks thoughtful.
He says, WE NEED ALL THE CHICKENS!
In front of a flock of chickens, Messy moves like a chicken scratching the ground with its feet.
[Messy clucking]
[Chickens clucking]
The chickens scratch and peck the ground.
[Zoom chittering]
Zoom transforms into a megaphone.
Messy says, GREAT IDEA, ZOOM.
He clucks like a chicken into Zoom.
[Drum procession]
[Messy clucking loudly]
The chickens on the beach march across the sand in sync.
[Chickens clucking]
[Messy clucking]
Messy points toward Vivienne. The chickens hop up Vivienne and start scratching with their feet and beaks. Vivienne smiles.
Vivienne sighs, OOH, OOH.
OH.
AH.
Messy picks up feathers on the beach.
[Chickens clucking]
[Chickens scratching]
Vivienne says, OOH, OOH.
[Vivienne sighing in relief]
Vivienne says, OH, THAT'S LOVELY.
OH.
OH, THAT'S LOVELY!
Later on the beach, Farmer Fuddle drives his tractor out of the ocean.
Farmer Fuddle says, MESSY, YOU FOUND MY CHICKENS!
Messy says, I SPEAK VERY GOOD CHICKEN,
FARMER FUDDLE.
[Messy clucking]
Vivienne says, AH.
ALL MY ITCHES ARE BETTER.
THANK YOU EVER SO MUCH, MESSY.
All of the feathers on Vivienne are gone,
Messy says, GREAT.
COME ALONG, LADIES.
YOUR WORK HERE IS DONE.
[Chickens clucking]
[Messy clucking]
Zoom transforms into a drum.
[Drum precession plays]
Messy leads the chickens to a trailer on Farmer Fuddle’s tractor.
[Messy and the chickens clucking]
Farmer Fuddle says, THAT'S THE LOT!
THANKS, MESSY.
Zoom returns to his normal shape.
Messy says, AND ZOOM.
HE HELPED A BIT.
Zoom transforms into a megaphone.
[Megaphone horn blaring]
Zoom returns to his normal shape.
Messy says, ALL RIGHT.
YOU HELPED A LOT.
[Messy giggling]
Messy says, BUT IT'S TIME FOR ME TO GO HOME
NOW.
Farmer Fuddle says, BYE, MESSY.
He waves. Messy returns to the backyard.
Messy says, HMM.
I WONDER WHAT MADE ME ITCHY.
IT MUST BE HERE SOMEWHERE.
He looks around the grass.
Messy says, I'M ON THE LOOKOUT FOR SOMETHING
VERY TICKLY.
WAS IT YOU?
ARE YOU VERY TICKLY?
He reaches for a white feather in the grass.
Messy says, AHA.
I KNEW IT!
IT WAS YOU THAT MADE ME ITCHY!
[Cheerful music plays]
Messy says, WHEN SOMETHING TICKLY TICKLES
YOU, YOUR SKIN SENDS A MESSAGE
TO YOUR BRAIN.
THEN, YOUR BRAIN MAKES YOUR SKIN
