In warmer weather, Gran Gran’s grey-haired neighbour, Cynthia, waters her flowers. Jojo and Gran Gran wave to Cynthia on their way to Gran Gran’s house.

Jojo says, WOW, LOOK AT ALL THOSE

[Navid tapping a cymbal]

Isaiah says, THAT'S MY DAD PLAYING

[Ned playing the keyboard]
Alfie says, A KEYBOARD!
Jojo says, NAVID'S PLAYING THE

[Ezra playing the double bass]
Gran Gran says, I MADE YOU THIS SO YOU CAN
JOIN IN!
She gently shakes a cardboard tube with the ends covered.
[Maraca-like rattling]
Gran Gran says, IT'S A SHAKE-A-SHAKE SHAKER!
Jojo says, THANK YOU, GRAN GRAN!
She takes the shaker from Gran Gran and shakes it.
[Maraca-like rattling]
Giggling, Jojo says, I LOVE IT!
[Microphone feedback]
Cynthia stands behind a stand with a microphone on the stage.
Cynthia says, NOW THAT EVERYONE HAS
ARRIVED, IT LOOKS LIKE WE'RE IN
FOR A TREAT!
HERE'S YOUR HOST!
[Funky music plays]
Jared runs onto the stage and waves.
Jojo cheers, JARED!
[Audience cheering]
Jared gently taps the microphone and takes it off the stand.
Jared says, THANK YOU ALL FOR COMING.
IT'S A LOVELY DAY, AND IT'S TIME
TO JAM!
Cynthia picks up a trumpet. Navid taps his drumsticks.
He counts, A-ONE, TWO, THREE, FOUR.
The band starts playing.
[Joyful music plays]
Isaiah pretends to play a saxophone with his maraca, and Raya pretends to play a double base. Alfie shakes his maraca, and Jojo shakes her shaker.
[Saxophone solo]
[Audience cheering]
Isaiah, Raya, Alfie and Jojo pretend their instruments are saxophones.
[Trumpet solo]
Jojo moves Panda’s arms around her shaker so he holds the instrument like a double bass.

She shakes her shaker. Later on stage, Jared adjusts the microphone stand.

In Jojo’s world, Jojo and Gran Gran join a crowd at a park where people sell food and watch a band on a stage. On the stage, Joshua holds his saxophone, Navid sits at a drum set, Ned adjusts a keyboard, and Ezra stands with a double base.
[Jojo giggling]
Jojo says, IT'S THE COMMUNITY JAM,
PANDA!
Jojo joins her friends Alfie, Raya and Isaiah, who stand by Raya’s mom, Nirada and Alfie’s mom, Ellie.
Jojo says, HI, EVERYONE!
The others say, HI, JOJO.
HI, GRAN GRAN.
Gran Gran says, OH, HELLO THERE!
Jojo says, WOW, LOOK AT ALL THOSE
INSTRUMENTS, GRAN GRAN!
[Navid tapping a cymbal]
[Joshua playing the saxophone]
Isaiah says, THAT'S MY DAD PLAYING
THAT SAXOPHONE.
[Ned playing the keyboard]
Alfie says, A KEYBOARD!
Jojo says, NAVID'S PLAYING THE
DRUMS!
[Ezra playing the double bass]
Gran Gran says, I MADE YOU THIS SO YOU CAN
JOIN IN!
She gently shakes a cardboard tube with the ends covered.
[Maraca-like rattling]
Gran Gran says, IT'S A SHAKE-A-SHAKE SHAKER!
Jojo says, THANK YOU, GRAN GRAN!
She takes the shaker from Gran Gran and shakes it.
[Maraca-like rattling]
Giggling, Jojo says, I LOVE IT!
[Microphone feedback]
Cynthia stands behind a stand with a microphone on the stage.
Cynthia says, NOW THAT EVERYONE HAS
ARRIVED, IT LOOKS LIKE WE'RE IN
FOR A TREAT!
HERE'S YOUR HOST!
[Funky music plays]
Jared runs onto the stage and waves.
Jojo cheers, JARED!
[Audience cheering]
Jared gently taps the microphone and takes it off the stand.
Jared says, THANK YOU ALL FOR COMING.
IT'S A LOVELY DAY, AND IT'S TIME
TO JAM!
Cynthia picks up a trumpet. Navid taps his drumsticks.
He counts, A-ONE, TWO, THREE, FOUR.
The band starts playing.
[Joyful music plays]
Isaiah pretends to play a saxophone with his maraca, and Raya pretends to play a double base. Alfie shakes his maraca, and Jojo shakes her shaker.
[Saxophone solo]
[Audience cheering]
Isaiah, Raya, Alfie and Jojo pretend their instruments are saxophones.
[Trumpet solo]
Jojo moves Panda’s arms around her shaker so he holds the instrument like a double bass.
[Cheerful music plays]
[Audience cheering]
Jojo cheers, YAY!
She shakes her shaker. Later on stage, Jared adjusts the microphone stand.
[Raya gasping]
Raya says, I LOVE THE DRUMS!
Gran Gran says, IT MUST BE CHARLENE'S TURN
SOON.
Jojo sings, A PARTY WHOSE NAME IS SPRING!
[Jojo giggling]
[Gran Gran chuckling]
On stage, Cynthia whispers, JARED, I'M AFRAID CHARLENE'S
LATE, I'M NOT SURE SHE'S GOING
TO MAKE IT.
WHAT SHOULD WE DO?
Jared says, UH...
Into the microphone, Jared says, UM, HI, EVERYONE, WE JUST HEARD
THAT CHARLENE'S BEEN HELD UP IN
TRAFFIC.
The audience sighs, AWW.
Jared says, SO, UNFORTUNATELY, WE'LL HAVE
TO CANCEL HER SPRING SONG.
Jojo sadly says, OH, I WANTED TO HEAR
CHARLENE'S SONG.
Gran Gran says, HM, I THINK IT'S TIME FOR A
GRAN GRAN PLAN!
[Celebratory music plays]
Gran Gran says, HOW ABOUT WE SING CHARLENE'S
SONG?
WE KNOW ALL THE WORDS!
Jojo looks nervous.
She asks, CAN WE DO IT TOGETHER?
Gran Gran says, I'LL BE WITH YOU, SIDE BY
SIDE.
Raya says, GO, JOJO!
Isaiah says, GO FOR IT.
Alfie says, YOU'LL BE GREAT.
Jojo says, OKAY.
She takes Gran Gran’s hand.
Isaiah, Raya and Alfie cheer, YAY!
Gran Gran walks on stage with Jojo.
Gran Gran says, NO NEED TO CANCEL CHARLENE'S
SONG, JARED!
JOJO AND I CAN SING IT.
Jared says, GOOD NEWS, EVERYONE, JOJO AND
GRAN GRAN ARE GOING TO PERFORM
INSTEAD!
[Audience cheering]
[Gran Gran chuckling]
Gran Gran says, I'M A BIT RUSTY, BUT WE'LL
GIVE IT A GO!
[Cheering]
Jojo asks, CAN YOU LOOK AFTER MY SHAKER,
JARED?
She gives Jared her shaker.
Jared says, OF COURSE.
GO FOR IT!
Jojo says, YOU SIT THERE, PANDA.
She puts Panda beside the microphone stand. Jared puts a stand in front of Jojo and lowers the microphone to Jojo’s height.
Jared says, THERE YOU GO, JOJO.
He takes a pair of headphones from Cynthia and gives them to Jojo.
Jared says, AND PUT
THESE ON.
Jojo puts the headphones on.
Jared says, IT GETS A BIT LOUD UP HERE.
[Jojo giggling]
Jojo says, THANKS, JARED.
She waves as Jared steps away.
Navid counts, A-ONE, TWO, THREE, FOUR.
The band starts playing.
[Playful jazz music plays]
Jojo looks nervous.
Gran Gran sings, WHEN WINTER'S CHILL IS AT AN
END AND FLOWERS START TO BLOOM!

Someone else says, OH, WOW!
The audience dances.
Jojo says, SINGING WITH YOU WAS SO MUCH
FUN!
[Gran Gran chuckling]
Gran Gran says, I HAVEN'T SANG ON A STAGE
FOR YEARS!
I WAS A LITTLE NERVOUS AT
FIRST, BUT SINGING WITH YOU MADE
ALL MY NERVES DISAPPEAR.
Jojo says, WE WERE SIDE BY SIDE!
I LOVE YOU, GRAN GRAN.
Gran Gran picks up Jojo.
[Gran Gran laughing]
Gran Gran says, OH, I LOVE YOU TOO, JOJO.
She hugs Jojo close.
