Paths lead to houses in a small village on a grassy hill. Four sails on a windmill rotate slowly.
Singers sing, HERE COMES DONKEY HODIE.
Donkey Hodie, a yellow donkey with a purple mane and long eyelashes, exits the windmill through a doorway.
Donkey says, HEE-HAW!
The singers sing, DONKEY HODIE.
A person sings, SHE LOVES ADVENTURE, SHE LOVES SURPRISE. WHEN THERE'S A PROBLEM, SHE TRIES AND TRIES.
[Slide whistle]
The singers sing, LET'S GO, DONKEY HODIE.
The person sings, IF SHE FAILS, SHE'LL BOUNCE RIGHT BACK. COME ON, DUCK DUCK, GIVE A QUACK.
In front of Grampy Hodie’s house, Donkey jumps onto a drum and bounces off. Grampy Hodie watches her bounce up in front of Duck Duck in the sky.
[Slide whistle]
Duck Duck, a green duck, quacks, KEE-KEE! QUACK!
The singers sing, DONKEY HODIE.
In Bob Dog’s front yard, Donkey and Bob Dog, a brown dog, ride on top of bouncing balls.
[Boings]
The person sings, PLAYS WITH BOB DOG, THEY HAVE A BALL. IT'S FUN FOR THEM, IT'S FUN FOR ALL.
Donkey bounces off her ball and lands in front of Purple Panda’s spaceship.
[Boinging, slide whistle]
Bob Dog barks, BOW-WOW!
The singers sing, DONKEY HODIE.
In outer space, Donkey and Purple Panda ride in the spaceship.
[Whoosh]
The person sings, JUST FOR FUN, SHE'LL TAKE A TRIP. WITH PURPLE PANDA, IN A SPACESHIP.
Purple Panda says, HEY-O!

Donkey says, STANLEY, HI!
[Slide whistle, whooshing]
Stanley says, WOW! WONDERFUL BALL SPINNING, DONKEY. BRAVO!
Donkey says, OH, THANK YOU. IT'S HARD, BUT I CAN DO HARD THINGS.
[Donkey laughing, Stanley sighing]
Stanley says, I WISH I COULD HAVE AS MUCH FUN AS YOU TODAY.
Donkey says, OH. HUH?
Donkey puts the ball down on the ground.
[Birds chirping]
Donkey says, WELL, WHY AREN'T YOU HAVING ANY FUN TODAY?
Stanley says, WELL, I WAS SUPPOSED TO BE IN A PLAY THIS AFTERNOON 'THE PENGUIN FROM THE CITY OF SOUTHWOOD.' AND I WAS PLAYING THE ROLE OF THE LARGE CITY BUILDING. BUT, ALAS, THE PLAY WAS CANCELED.
Donkey says, HMM.
[Gentle music plays]
Stanley says, AHH, BUT THE SHOW MUST GO ON, AS WE SAY IN THIS BUSINESS, SO I WILL SEARCH FOR ANOTHER ROLE TO PLAY TODAY, BUT IT SURE WON'T BE EASY...
Donkey says, WELL, IT MIGHT BE HARD, BUT YOU CAN DO HARD THINGS, STANLEY. JUST LIKE I LEARNED TO SPIN THE BALL ON MY HOOF!
Stanley says, YOU ARE RIGHT, DONKEY. THANK YOU!
Donkey says, YOU ARE MOST WELCOME, STANLEY, AND NOW I'M OFF TO DUCK DUCK'S. SHE'S GETTING HER NEW BOOK CLUB BOOK TODAY AND WE'RE GONNA READ IT!
Stanley says, HMM! HMM-HMM.
Donkey picks up her ball and spins it on her hoof.
[Whooshing, upbeat music plays]
Donkey says, GOOD LUCK FINDING ANOTHER ROLE TO PLAY TODAY, STANLEY!
Stanley says, WELL, THANK YOU SO VERY, VERY MUCH, DONKEY!
Donkey says, YOU'RE WELCOME!
Donkey walks through the tall grass.
[Rustling, Donkey humming]
Donkey encounters Duck Duck carrying an armload of books.
Duck Duck says, HEY HEY, DONKEY!
Donkey says, DUCK DUCK!
Duck Duck says, HEY HEY!
[Birds chirping]
Donkey asks, DID THE NEW BOOK CLUB BOOK COME YET?
Duck Duck says, OH, NOPE NOPE, NOT YET. I WAS JUST LOOKING OVER MY OLD BOOK CLUB BOOKS. OH, I WONDER WHAT THIS MONTH'S BOOK IS GONNA BE?
Duck Duck puts the books down on the ground.
[Slide whistle, Donkey gasping]
Donkey says, I DON'T KNOW WHAT IT'S GONNA BE ABOUT, BUT I DO KNOW IT'S GONNA BE BIG!
Duck Duck says, UHH. WH-WHY DO YOU SAY THAT, DONKEY?
Donkey says, BECAUSE...LOOK!
[Upbeat music plays]
Turtle Lou carries a book.
[Grunting]
Turtle Lou says, OH, CRINKLE. THIS IS HEAVY.
[Grunting]
Turtle Lou says, AH! SPEEDY DELIVERY FOR DUCK DUCK!
Duck Duck and Donkey say, WHOA!
Duck Duck says, THANKS, TURTLE-LOU!
Turtle Lou says, WELL, ENJOY READING! I KNOW IT'S GOING TO BE A BIG READ.
Duck Duck says, WELL, OBVIOUSLY.
Turtle Lou says, WELL, SPEEDY DELIVERY!
Turtle Lou leaves.
[Whoosh]
Duck Duck says, OH, LOOK AT THAT!
Donkey says, WOW, THIS IS A REALLY BIG BOOK!
Duck Duck says, A HUGE, BIG, BIG BOOK!
Donkey asks, WHAT'S IT ABOUT?
Duck Duck says, WELL, LET'S SEE!
Duck Duck flies above the book and looks down at the cover, which has ornate metal decorations and a picture of a rainbow.
[Gasping, flapping]
Duck Duck says, "THE BIG BOOK OF BIG RAINBOWS!” WOW! LET'S READ IT, DONKEY! LET'S READ IT!
Duck Duck lands beside Donkey. They jump up and down beside the book.
[Both grunting, boinging]
Donkey says, UH, DUCK DUCK.
Duck Duck says, WHAT, WHAT?
Donkey says, I'M NOT SURE HOW I'M GONNA READ THIS BOOK.
Duck Duck says, HEY, HEY, HEY LET'S TRY STANDING IT UP. HUH?
Donkey says, OKAY.
They try to lift the book.
[Grunting, book creaking]
Duck Duck says, YEAH, YEAH.
Donkey says, HEE-HOOO. THIS BIG BOOK IS ALSO A HEAVY BOOK.
[Grunting, creaking]
Duck Duck says, YEAH, IT SURE IS!
Donkey says, WAIT, HOW ABOUT IF WE TRY WORKING TOGETHER AND WE'LL PUSH THE BOOK UP?
Duck Duck says, YEAH. OH-OH KAY KAY.
[Both grunting, book creaking]
Duck Duck grumbles, THIS BIG BOOK IS SO HEAVY, IT'S TOO HARD TO STAND UP! WE'LL NEVER BE ABLE TO READ IT! HMPH.
Donkey says, OH SURE, WE WILL, DUCK DUCK! BECAUSE WE CAN DO HARD THINGS!
Duck Duck asks, WE CAN?
Donkey says, MM-HMM. WE DO HARD THINGS ALL THE TIME!
Donkey runs away and returns with the ball. She spins it on her hoof.
[Slide whistle, whooshing, upbeat music plays]
Donkey says, LIKE I LEARNED HOW TO DO THIS!
Duck Duck says, WHOA-WHOA. HARD THINGS. YEAH, YEAH, LIKE WHEN I LEARNED TO PERFORM ALL MY MAGIC TRICKS!
Donkey says, MM-HMM. HEE-HAW.
They both say, WE CAN DO HARD THINGS!
Duck Duck says, MM-HMM.
[Cheerful music plays]
Donkey and Duck Duck sing, WE CAN DO HARD THINGS. IT MIGHT TAKE SOME TRIES TO FIGURE IT OUT AND TO GET TO THE PRIZE. SOMETIMES IT'S HARD - HEY! BUT WE CAN DO HARD THINGS.
Donkey sings, LITTLE BY LITTLE, TRY AND TRY, WE GET CLOSER TO THE FINISH LINE. EVEN WHEN IT'S HARD - HEY! WE CAN DO HARD THINGS!
Duck Duck sings, WE CAN TAKE A DEEP BREATH, OH, TAKE OUR TIME. WE CAN DO THIS WHEN WE USE OUR MINDS!
WHEN THINGS GET TOUGH, WE CAN GET BY IF WE TRY, TRY, TRY - YEAH!
Donkey sings, EACH TRY WE GET CLOSER AND CLOSER AND THEN. IF WE KEEP AT IT, WE CAN SEE THE END.
WE KNOW WE CAN SUCCEED AND TRYING IS ONE BIG THING WE NEED.
Donkey and Duck Duck sing, WE CAN DO HARD THINGS. IT MIGHT TAKE SOME TRIES. TO FIGURE IT OUT

Donkey says, WE'VE DONE HARD THINGS BEFORE!

[Birds chirping, tapping, upbeat music plays]
Donkey says, YES, I, DONKEY HODIE, WILL READ "THE BIG BOOK OF BIG RAINBOWS"!
Duck Duck says, YEAH! NOW, FOR BOTH OF US TO READ IT, WE NEED TO STAND IT UP. BUT HOW?
Donkey says, HMMM... THINK, DONKEY HODIE, THINK...
Duck Duck says, HMM.
Donkey says, HMM.
[Donkey gasping]
Donkey picks up one of the books Duck Duck put on the ground.
Donkey says, SAY, DO YOU REMEMBER IN "THE POTATO PIRATES AND THE TASTY TREASURE," IT TOOK THEM MANY TIMES TO FIND THE TREASURE, BUT THEY DID IT!
Duck Duck says, YES, YES! AND THEN THEY LIFTED IT UP WITH...
Both say, A ROPE!
[Whooshing]
Later, Donkey ties a rope around a metal decoration on the cover of the huge book.
[Rope creaking]
Donkey says, JUST LIKE IN THE BOOK, THE POTATO PIRATES USED A ROPE LIKE THIS TO PICK UP THE HEAVY TREASURE!
Duck Duck sits on a tree branch. The top hangs over the branch beside Duck Duck. Duck Duck drops the other end of the rope down to Donkey.
Duck Duck asks, READY FOR THIS?
[Upbeat music plays]
Donkey says, READY!
Duck Duck says, ‘KAY ‘KAY, HERE IT COMES. ‘KAY, GOT IT?
[Rope creaking]
Donkey says, GOT IT.
Duck Duck says, WAIT.
Duck Duck flies down to the ground and walks behind Donkey. Donkey holds the rope, and Duck Duck holds onto Donkey’s waist.
[Flapping]
Duck Duck says, YEAH, THEN LET'S DO IT, MATEY! ARGH! YOU READY?
Donkey says, UH-HUH.
Both count, ONE, TWO, THREE!
They pull the top of the book up towards the branch.
[Both grunting, rope creaking, tense music plays]
Donkey says, C'MON.
The book stands upright on the ground.
Duck Duck says, YAY! LOOK AT THAT!
Donkey says, HA HA!
Both cheer, WE DID IT!
Duck Duck says, YEAH!
Donkey says, GREAT JOB!
Duck Duck says, YOU TOO, DONKEY!
Donkey says, NOW WE CAN READ "THE BIG BOOK OF BIG RAINBOWS!"
[Donkey laughing]
Donkey says, LET'S OPEN THE FRONT COVER.
Duck Duck says, YEAH!
Donkey pushes on the front cover of the book.
[Creaking]
Donkey says, UH, THIS COVER IS SO BIG AND SO HEAVY. IT WON'T OPEN!
Duck Duck says, LET-LET-LET ME TRY. LET ME TRY. LET'S SEE THIS HERE, OH ‘KAY ‘KAY.
[Grunting, creaking]
Duck Duck says, YEAH, THAT'S NOT MOVING. HEY HEY, LET'S TRY TOGETHER, HUH?
Donkey says, AH! MM-HMM.
Duck Duck says, YEAH.
Donkey asks, READY?
Duck Duck replies, YEAH.
Donkey holds the book, and Duck Duck holds Donkey’s waist.
[Creaking]
Both count, ONE. TWO. THREE. PUUUULLLLLLLLLL!
They pull on the cover and lose their grip. Donkey and Duck Duck fall backwards away from the book.
[Slide whistle]
Both scream, AHHH!
[Thudding]
Duck Duck says, AH, THIS COVER IS SO HEAVY.
[Sighing]
Donkey says, MM-HMM.
Duck Duck says, YOU KNOW WHAT I THINK?
Donkey says, HUH?
Duck Duck says, I THINK IT MIGHT BE TOO HARD TO OPEN!
[Tapping]
Donkey says, WELL, REMEMBER, DUCK DUCK, WE CAN DO HARD THINGS!
Duck Duck says, RIGHT, RIGHT! I-I MEAN WE DID GET THE BOOK UP AND THAT WAS PRETTY HARD.
Donkey says, MM-HMM. AND WE CAN GET THE BOOK OPEN TOO!
[Slide whistle]
Duck Duck says, YEAH!
Donkey says, BUT HOW?
Duck Duck says, HMM.
Donkey says, HMM.
Duck Duck picks one of the books up off the ground.
Duck Duck says, OH, HEY HEY! DO YOU REMEMBER IN DETECTIVE DUCK SHE COULDN'T GET THE SECRET DRAWER OPEN?
[Donkey gasping]
Donkey says, YES!
DETECTIVE DUCK HAD TO WIGGLE THE SECRET DRAWER...
Donkey wiggles.
[Wobbling]
Duck Duck says, MM-HMM.
They both say, WIGGLE, WIGGLE, WIGGLE, WIGGLE ,WIGGLE!
They both wiggle.
[Wobbling]
Duck Duck says, YEAH! AND ALL THAT WIGGLING LOOSENED THE SECRET DRAWER AND SHE OPENED IT! LET'S TRY THAT!
Donkey says, HEE-HAW!
Duck Duck says, YEAH!
[Whooshing]
Donkey and Duck Duck stand by the side of the huge book.
Both count, ONE TWO THREE, WIGGLE WIGGLE WIGGLE WIGGLE WIGGLE WIGGLE...!
[Wobbling]
Donkey says, OKAY, YOU KEEP WIGGLING WHILE I PULL!
[Donkey grunting, Duck Duck wobbling]
Duck Duck says, YEAH! WIGGLE, WIGGLE, WIGGLE, WIGGLE, WIGGLE, WIGGLE! WIGGLE, WIGGLE, WIGGLE, WIGGLE,
WIGGLE, WIGGLE, YEAH, YEAH, YEAH! WIGGLE, WIGGLE, WIGGLE, WIGGLE, WIGGLE, YEAH!
Donkey pulls the front cover of the book open. The first page features a picture of a rainbow above clouds.
[Happy music plays]
Duck Duck cheers, YEAH, YEAH, YEAH! WE DID IT! WE CAN DO HARD THINGS!
Donkey says, AND NOW IT'S FINALLY TIME TO READ "THE BIG BOOK OF BIG RAINBOWS"!
Donkey says, YEAH!
Donkey says, HA HA!
The front page falls forward and covers Duck Duck and Donkey.
[Page rustles]
Donkey says, UH. UH.
Duck Duck says, OH ‘KAY ‘KAY, SO WE JUST NEED TO KEEP THE BIG PAGE FROM FALLING OVER ON USSO WE CAN READ IT!
Donkey says, UH, SO HOW ABOUT WE BLOW ON IT AND THE AIR WILL KEEP THE PAGE UP?
Duck Duck says, OH YEAH, YEAH. YEAH, THAT'S GOOD.
Donkey says, YEAH.
[Blowing, page rustling]
Duck Duck says, AH, THAT'S DOING NOTHING OHHH I GOT AN IDEA! GET THIS. I-I-I'LL GET ON YOUR SHOULDERS
AND I'LL HOLD THE PAGE UP. ‘KAY ‘KAY?
Donkey says, OH, OKAY, ALRIGHT.
[Page rustling]
Duck Duck says, OKAY LET'S SEE IF THIS WORKS.GOT IT? GOT IT.
Duck Duck climbs up onto Donkey’s shoulders, and they both fall.
[Both shouting, slide whistle, page rustling, crashing]
They stand, and Donkey shakes her head.
[Wobbling]
Donkey says, WELL, THAT DIDN'T WORK!
Duck Duck says, NOPE NOPE. YOU KNOW, I COULD FLY UP THERE AND HOLD THE PAGE BUT THEN I WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO READ THE STORY WITH YOU!
Donkey says, THIS IS REALLY, REALLY HARD!
Duck Duck says, YEAH.
Stanley arrives.
Stanley says, DUCK DUCK! DONKEY, HELLO AGAIN.
Duck Duck says, HEY HEY, STANLEY, WHAT'S NEW NEW?
Stanley says, WELL, MY SEARCH FOR A ROLE TO PLAY TODAY ISN'T GOING SO WELL.IT'S BEEN HARD TO FIND ONE!
Duck Duck says, WELL, WE'RE HAVING A HARD PROBLEM TOO.
LOOK HOW BIG THIS BOOK IS.
Donkey says, SO BIG AND SO HEAVY THAT IT'S HARD TO READ!
Duck Duck says, YEAH, I MEAN LITTLE BY LITTLE WE ARE GETTING THERE - WE WERE ABLE TO STAND IT UP
AND YEAH WE WERE ABLE TO OPEN IT, BUT... WHEN IT COMES TIME TO READ IT... LOOK AT THIS. JUST-JUST LOOK AT THIS.
Donkey and Duck Duck walk beneath the sagging front page.
[Page rustling]
Donkey says, SEE, WE CAN'T READ IT.
They walk out from behind the page.
[Page rustles, birds chirping, gentle music plays]
Duck Duck says, YEAH YEAH. IT-IT-IT HAS BEEN SO HARD TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO READ THIS BOOK.
Donkey says, BUT WE KNOW WE CAN DO HARD THINGS!
Duck Duck says, MM-HMM.
Stanley says, HMM, I SEE. QUITE A PAGE PROBLEM.
Everyone looks at the book.
[Slide whistle]
Donkey and Duck Duck say, MM-HMM.
Stanley says, HMM?
Donkey and Duck Duck look from Stanley to the book and then back at each other.
[Slide whistles]
Duck Duck says, UH, SAY DONKEY.
Donkey says, HUH?
Duck Duck says, YOU THINKING WHAT I'M THINKING?
Donkey says, I THINK I'M THINKING WHAT YOU'RE THINKING!
Duck Duck says, MM-HMM.
Stanley says, UM... NOT TO BE TOO NOSEY, BUT I WOULD LOVE TO HEAR WHAT YOU BOTH ARE THINKING.
Duck Duck says, WELL, STANLEY, DONKEY AND I WOULD LIKE TO OFFER YOU THE VERY IMPORTANT ROLE OF PAGE-TURNER.
Stanley says, OH!
Later, Donkey and Duck Duck read the open book.
Donkey and Duck Duck read, THEY FINALLY CAME ACROSS THE BIG BEAUTIFUL RAINBOW!
Duck Duck says, OH, PAGE-TURNER, CAN YOU PLEASE TURN THE PAGE, PLEASE?
Stanley says, MMM, THAT'S MY CUE!
[Humming]
Stanley turns the page and a 3-D rainbow arcs between two pages.
[Page rustling, everyone gasping]
Donkey says, OH WOW!
Stanley says, HA HA!
Duck Duck says, OH, I LOVE THIS BOOK!
Donkey says, I DO, TOO!
Stanley says, AND I LOVE MY ROLE! LET'S READ IT AGAIN!
Donkey says, HEE-HAW!

Donkey says, STANLEY, HI!
[Slide whistle, whooshing]
Stanley says, WOW! WONDERFUL BALL SPINNING, DONKEY. BRAVO!
Donkey says, OH, THANK YOU. IT'S HARD, BUT I CAN DO HARD THINGS.
[Donkey laughing, Stanley sighing]
Stanley says, I WISH I COULD HAVE AS MUCH FUN AS YOU TODAY.
Donkey says, OH. HUH?
Donkey puts the ball down on the ground.
[Birds chirping]
Donkey says, WELL, WHY AREN'T YOU HAVING ANY FUN TODAY?
Stanley says, WELL, I WAS SUPPOSED TO BE IN A PLAY THIS AFTERNOON 'THE PENGUIN FROM THE CITY OF SOUTHWOOD.' AND I WAS PLAYING THE ROLE OF THE LARGE CITY BUILDING. BUT, ALAS, THE PLAY WAS CANCELED.
Donkey says, HMM.
[Gentle music plays]
Stanley says, AHH, BUT THE SHOW MUST GO ON, AS WE SAY IN THIS BUSINESS, SO I WILL SEARCH FOR ANOTHER ROLE TO PLAY TODAY, BUT IT SURE WON'T BE EASY...
Donkey says, WELL, IT MIGHT BE HARD, BUT YOU CAN DO HARD THINGS, STANLEY. JUST LIKE I LEARNED TO SPIN THE BALL ON MY HOOF!
Stanley says, YOU ARE RIGHT, DONKEY. THANK YOU!
Donkey says, YOU ARE MOST WELCOME, STANLEY, AND NOW I'M OFF TO DUCK DUCK'S. SHE'S GETTING HER NEW BOOK CLUB BOOK TODAY AND WE'RE GONNA READ IT!
Stanley says, HMM! HMM-HMM.
Donkey picks up her ball and spins it on her hoof.
[Whooshing, upbeat music plays]
Donkey says, GOOD LUCK FINDING ANOTHER ROLE TO PLAY TODAY, STANLEY!

Donkey walks through the tall grass.
[Rustling, Donkey humming]
Donkey encounters Duck Duck carrying an armload of books.
Duck Duck says, HEY HEY, DONKEY!
Donkey says, DUCK DUCK!
Duck Duck says, HEY HEY!
[Birds chirping]
Donkey asks, DID THE NEW BOOK CLUB BOOK COME YET?
Duck Duck says, OH, NOPE NOPE, NOT YET. I WAS JUST LOOKING OVER MY OLD BOOK CLUB BOOKS. OH, I WONDER WHAT THIS MONTH'S BOOK IS GONNA BE?
Duck Duck puts the books down on the ground.
[Slide whistle, Donkey gasping]
Donkey says, I DON'T KNOW WHAT IT'S GONNA BE ABOUT, BUT I DO KNOW IT'S GONNA BE BIG!
Duck Duck says, UHH. WH-WHY DO YOU SAY THAT, DONKEY?
Donkey says, BECAUSE...LOOK!
[Upbeat music plays]
Turtle Lou carries a book.
[Grunting]
Turtle Lou says, OH, CRINKLE. THIS IS HEAVY.
[Grunting]
Turtle Lou says, AH! SPEEDY DELIVERY FOR DUCK DUCK!
Duck Duck and Donkey say, WHOA!
Duck Duck says, THANKS, TURTLE-LOU!
Turtle Lou says, WELL, ENJOY READING! I KNOW IT'S GOING TO BE A BIG READ.
Duck Duck says, WELL, OBVIOUSLY.
Turtle Lou says, WELL, SPEEDY DELIVERY!
Turtle Lou leaves.
[Whoosh]
Duck Duck says, OH, LOOK AT THAT!
Donkey says, WOW, THIS IS A REALLY BIG BOOK!
Duck Duck says, A HUGE, BIG, BIG BOOK!
Donkey asks, WHAT'S IT ABOUT?
Duck Duck says, WELL, LET'S SEE!
Duck Duck flies above the book and looks down at the cover, which has ornate metal decorations and a picture of a rainbow.
[Gasping, flapping]
Duck Duck says, "THE BIG BOOK OF BIG RAINBOWS!” WOW! LET'S READ IT, DONKEY! LET'S READ IT!
Duck Duck lands beside Donkey. They jump up and down beside the book.
[Both grunting, boinging]
Donkey says, UH, DUCK DUCK.
Duck Duck says, WHAT, WHAT?
Donkey says, I'M NOT SURE HOW I'M GONNA READ THIS BOOK.
Duck Duck says, HEY, HEY, HEY LET'S TRY STANDING IT UP. HUH?
Donkey says, OKAY.
They try to lift the book.
[Grunting, book creaking]
Duck Duck says, YEAH, YEAH.
Donkey says, HEE-HOOO. THIS BIG BOOK IS ALSO A HEAVY BOOK.
[Grunting, creaking]
Duck Duck says, YEAH, IT SURE IS!
Donkey says, WAIT, HOW ABOUT IF WE TRY WORKING TOGETHER AND WE'LL PUSH THE BOOK UP?
Duck Duck says, YEAH. OH-OH KAY KAY.
[Both grunting, book creaking]
Duck Duck grumbles, THIS BIG BOOK IS SO HEAVY, IT'S TOO HARD TO STAND UP! WE'LL NEVER BE ABLE TO READ IT! HMPH.
Donkey says, OH SURE, WE WILL, DUCK DUCK! BECAUSE WE CAN DO HARD THINGS!
Duck Duck asks, WE CAN?
Donkey says, MM-HMM. WE DO HARD THINGS ALL THE TIME!
Donkey runs away and returns with the ball. She spins it on her hoof.
[Slide whistle, whooshing, upbeat music plays]
Donkey says, LIKE I LEARNED HOW TO DO THIS!
Duck Duck says, WHOA-WHOA. HARD THINGS. YEAH, YEAH, LIKE WHEN I LEARNED TO PERFORM ALL MY MAGIC TRICKS!
Donkey says, MM-HMM. HEE-HAW.
They both say, WE CAN DO HARD THINGS!
Duck Duck says, MM-HMM.
[Cheerful music plays]
Donkey and Duck Duck sing, WE CAN DO HARD THINGS. IT MIGHT TAKE SOME TRIES TO FIGURE IT OUT AND TO GET TO THE PRIZE. SOMETIMES IT'S HARD - HEY! BUT WE CAN DO HARD THINGS.
Donkey sings, LITTLE BY LITTLE, TRY AND TRY, WE GET CLOSER TO THE FINISH LINE. EVEN WHEN IT'S HARD - HEY! WE CAN DO HARD THINGS!
Duck Duck sings, WE CAN TAKE A DEEP BREATH, OH, TAKE OUR TIME. WE CAN DO THIS WHEN WE USE OUR MINDS!

Donkey says, HMM.
[Donkey gasping]
Donkey picks up one of the books Duck Duck put on the ground.
Donkey says, SAY, DO YOU REMEMBER IN "THE POTATO PIRATES AND THE TASTY TREASURE," IT TOOK THEM MANY TIMES TO FIND THE TREASURE, BUT THEY DID IT!
Duck Duck says, YES, YES! AND THEN THEY LIFTED IT UP WITH...
Both say, A ROPE!
[Whooshing]
Later, Donkey ties a rope around a metal decoration on the cover of the huge book.
[Rope creaking]
Donkey says, JUST LIKE IN THE BOOK, THE POTATO PIRATES USED A ROPE LIKE THIS TO PICK UP THE HEAVY TREASURE!
Duck Duck sits on a tree branch. The top hangs over the branch beside Duck Duck. Duck Duck drops the other end of the rope down to Donkey.
Duck Duck asks, READY FOR THIS?
[Upbeat music plays]
Donkey says, READY!
Duck Duck says, ‘KAY ‘KAY, HERE IT COMES. ‘KAY, GOT IT?
[Rope creaking]
Donkey says, GOT IT.
Duck Duck says, WAIT.
Duck Duck flies down to the ground and walks behind Donkey. Donkey holds the rope, and Duck Duck holds onto Donkey’s waist.
[Flapping]
Duck Duck says, YEAH, THEN LET'S DO IT, MATEY! ARGH! YOU READY?
Donkey says, UH-HUH.
Both count, ONE, TWO, THREE!
They pull the top of the book up towards the branch.
[Both grunting, rope creaking, tense music plays]
Donkey says, C'MON.
The book stands upright on the ground.
Duck Duck says, YAY! LOOK AT THAT!
Donkey says, HA HA!
Both cheer, WE DID IT!
Duck Duck says, YEAH!
Donkey says, GREAT JOB!
Duck Duck says, YOU TOO, DONKEY!
Donkey says, NOW WE CAN READ "THE BIG BOOK OF BIG RAINBOWS!"
[Donkey laughing]
Donkey says, LET'S OPEN THE FRONT COVER.
Duck Duck says, YEAH!
Donkey pushes on the front cover of the book.
[Creaking]
Donkey says, UH, THIS COVER IS SO BIG AND SO HEAVY. IT WON'T OPEN!
Duck Duck says, LET-LET-LET ME TRY. LET ME TRY. LET'S SEE THIS HERE, OH ‘KAY ‘KAY.
[Grunting, creaking]
Duck Duck says, YEAH, THAT'S NOT MOVING. HEY HEY, LET'S TRY TOGETHER, HUH?
Donkey says, AH! MM-HMM.
Duck Duck says, YEAH.
Donkey asks, READY?
Duck Duck replies, YEAH.
Donkey holds the book, and Duck Duck holds Donkey’s waist.
[Creaking]
Both count, ONE. TWO. THREE. PUUUULLLLLLLLLL!
They pull on the cover and lose their grip. Donkey and Duck Duck fall backwards away from the book.
[Slide whistle]
Both scream, AHHH!
[Thudding]
Duck Duck says, AH, THIS COVER IS SO HEAVY.
[Sighing]
Donkey says, MM-HMM.
Duck Duck says, YOU KNOW WHAT I THINK?
Donkey says, HUH?
Duck Duck says, I THINK IT MIGHT BE TOO HARD TO OPEN!
[Tapping]
Donkey says, WELL, REMEMBER, DUCK DUCK, WE CAN DO HARD THINGS!
Duck Duck says, RIGHT, RIGHT! I-I MEAN WE DID GET THE BOOK UP AND THAT WAS PRETTY HARD.
Donkey says, MM-HMM. AND WE CAN GET THE BOOK OPEN TOO!
[Slide whistle]
Duck Duck says, YEAH!
Donkey says, BUT HOW?
Duck Duck says, HMM.
Donkey says, HMM.
Duck Duck picks one of the books up off the ground.
Duck Duck says, OH, HEY HEY! DO YOU REMEMBER IN DETECTIVE DUCK SHE COULDN'T GET THE SECRET DRAWER OPEN?
[Donkey gasping]
Donkey says, YES!
DETECTIVE DUCK HAD TO WIGGLE THE SECRET DRAWER...
Donkey wiggles.
[Wobbling]
Duck Duck says, MM-HMM.
They both say, WIGGLE, WIGGLE, WIGGLE, WIGGLE ,WIGGLE!
They both wiggle.
[Wobbling]
Duck Duck says, YEAH! AND ALL THAT WIGGLING LOOSENED THE SECRET DRAWER AND SHE OPENED IT! LET'S TRY THAT!
Donkey says, HEE-HAW!
Duck Duck says, YEAH!
[Whooshing]
Donkey and Duck Duck stand by the side of the huge book.
Both count, ONE TWO THREE, WIGGLE WIGGLE WIGGLE WIGGLE WIGGLE WIGGLE...!
[Wobbling]
Donkey says, OKAY, YOU KEEP WIGGLING WHILE I PULL!
[Donkey grunting, Duck Duck wobbling]

[Page rustling]

Duck Duck climbs up onto Donkey’s shoulders, and they both fall.
[Both shouting, slide whistle, page rustling, crashing]
They stand, and Donkey shakes her head.
[Wobbling]
Donkey says, WELL, THAT DIDN'T WORK!
Duck Duck says, NOPE NOPE. YOU KNOW, I COULD FLY UP THERE AND HOLD THE PAGE BUT THEN I WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO READ THE STORY WITH YOU!
Donkey says, THIS IS REALLY, REALLY HARD!
Duck Duck says, YEAH.
Stanley arrives.
Stanley says, DUCK DUCK! DONKEY, HELLO AGAIN.
Duck Duck says, HEY HEY, STANLEY, WHAT'S NEW NEW?
Stanley says, WELL, MY SEARCH FOR A ROLE TO PLAY TODAY ISN'T GOING SO WELL.IT'S BEEN HARD TO FIND ONE!
Duck Duck says, WELL, WE'RE HAVING A HARD PROBLEM TOO.
LOOK HOW BIG THIS BOOK IS.
Donkey says, SO BIG AND SO HEAVY THAT IT'S HARD TO READ!
Duck Duck says, YEAH, I MEAN LITTLE BY LITTLE WE ARE GETTING THERE - WE WERE ABLE TO STAND IT UP
AND YEAH WE WERE ABLE TO OPEN IT, BUT... WHEN IT COMES TIME TO READ IT... LOOK AT THIS. JUST-JUST LOOK AT THIS.
Donkey and Duck Duck walk beneath the sagging front page.
[Page rustling]
Donkey says, SEE, WE CAN'T READ IT.
They walk out from behind the page.
[Page rustles, birds chirping, gentle music plays]
Duck Duck says, YEAH YEAH. IT-IT-IT HAS BEEN SO HARD TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO READ THIS BOOK.
Donkey says, BUT WE KNOW WE CAN DO HARD THINGS!
Duck Duck says, MM-HMM.
Stanley says, HMM, I SEE. QUITE A PAGE PROBLEM.
Everyone looks at the book.
[Slide whistle]
Donkey and Duck Duck say, MM-HMM.
Stanley says, HMM?
Donkey and Duck Duck look from Stanley to the book and then back at each other.
[Slide whistles]
Duck Duck says, UH, SAY DONKEY.
Donkey says, HUH?
Duck Duck says, YOU THINKING WHAT I'M THINKING?
Donkey says, I THINK I'M THINKING WHAT YOU'RE THINKING!
Duck Duck says, MM-HMM.
Stanley says, UM... NOT TO BE TOO NOSEY, BUT I WOULD LOVE TO HEAR WHAT YOU BOTH ARE THINKING.
Duck Duck says, WELL, STANLEY, DONKEY AND I WOULD LIKE TO OFFER YOU THE VERY IMPORTANT ROLE OF PAGE-TURNER.
Stanley says, OH!
Later, Donkey and Duck Duck read the open book.
Donkey and Duck Duck read, THEY FINALLY CAME ACROSS THE BIG BEAUTIFUL RAINBOW!
Duck Duck says, OH, PAGE-TURNER, CAN YOU PLEASE TURN THE PAGE, PLEASE?
Stanley says, MMM, THAT'S MY CUE!
[Humming]
Stanley turns the page and a 3-D rainbow arcs between two pages.
[Page rustling, everyone gasping]
Donkey says, OH WOW!
Stanley says, HA HA!
Duck Duck says, OH, I LOVE THIS BOOK!
Donkey says, I DO, TOO!
Stanley says, AND I LOVE MY ROLE! LET'S READ IT AGAIN!
Donkey says, HEE-HAW!
