[Upbeat music plays, birds sing]

Paths lead to houses in a small village on a grassy hill. Four sails on a windmill rotate slowly.

Singers sing, HERE COMES DONKEY HODIE.

Donkey Hodie, a yellow donkey with a purple mane and long eyelashes, exits the windmill through a doorway.

Donkey says, HEE-HAW!

The singers sing, DONKEY HODIE.

A person sings, SHE LOVES ADVENTURE, SHE LOVES SURPRISE. WHEN THERE'S A PROBLEM, SHE TRIES AND TRIES.

[Slide whistle]

The singers sing, LET'S GO, DONKEY HODIE.

The person sings, IF SHE FAILS, SHE'LL BOUNCE RIGHT BACK. COME ON, DUCK DUCK, GIVE A QUACK.

In front of Grampy Hodie’s house, Donkey jumps onto a drum and bounces off. Grampy Hodie watches her bounce up in front of Duck Duck in the sky.

[Slide whistle]

Duck Duck, a green duck, quacks, KEE-KEE! QUACK!

The singers sing, DONKEY HODIE.

In Bob Dog’s front yard, Donkey and Bob Dog, a brown dog, ride on top of bouncing balls.

[Boings]

The person sings, PLAYS WITH BOB DOG, THEY HAVE A BALL. IT'S FUN FOR THEM, IT'S FUN FOR ALL.

Donkey bounces off her ball and lands in front of Purple Panda’s spaceship.

[Boinging, slide whistle]

Bob Dog barks, BOW-WOW!

The singers sing, DONKEY HODIE.

In outer space, Donkey and Purple Panda ride in the spaceship.

[Whoosh]

The person sings, JUST FOR FUN, SHE'LL TAKE A TRIP. WITH PURPLE PANDA, IN A SPACESHIP.

Purple Panda says, HEY-O!

The singers sing, DONKEY HODIE.

Text reads, Created by Adam Rudman and David Rudman. Developed by Ellen Doherty. Inspired by the work of Fred Rogers. Title: Donkey Hodie.

[Slide whistle]

The person sings, HEE AND A HAW AND A HAW AND A HEE. SOMEPLACE ELSE IS THE PLACE TO BE.

The singers sing, WITH OUR PAL, DONKEY HODIE.

[Slide whistle]

Donkey says, HEE-HAW!

Episode title: Duck Duck’s Concert.

[Upbeat music plays]

Duck Duck chants, QUACK JAM, QUACK JAM. QUACK JAM, QUACK JAM.

Duck Duck pushes through dried bulrushes by a pond.

[Rustling]

Donkey, Panda and Bob Dog chant, QUACK JAM, QUACK JAM. QUACK JAM, QUACK JAM.

Everyone chants, QUACK JAM, QUACK JAM. QUACK JAM, QUACK JAM.

[Laughing]

Panda asks, EH, WHAT ARE WE CHANTING ABOUT, EXACTLY?

Donkey says, QUACK JAM! DUCK DUCK'S FAVOURITE BAND.

[Birds chirping, boinging]

Duck Duck says, YUP, YUP, YEAH, AND THEY'RE COMING HERE TONIGHT. OH, I'VE BEEN WAITING SO LONG FOR THIS, AND IF I'M A REAL LUCKY DUCKY, I'LL GET AN AUTOGRAPH FROM MY FAVOURITE QUACK JAMMER, SPLASH.

Duck Duck holds an album cover featuring three ducks playing instruments.

Duck Duck says, OH, I LOVE THE WAY SPLASH PLAYS THE KEYBOARDS. HERE, HERE, LISTEN. LISTEN TO THIS, HUH?

Duck Duck turns on a portable music player.

[Clicking, rock music playing, everyone humming along]

Dr. Skunk arrives.

Dr. Skunk says, OH, HI, NEIGHBOURS. DO I HEAR QUACK JAM?

Bob Dog asks, YOU KNOW QUACK JAM?

Dr. Skunk says, I SURE DO. I WENT TO THEIR CONCERT THIS MORNING IN THE PARK.

Duck Duck says, OOH, OOH, UH. NO, NO.

[Clicking, music stops, birds chirping]

Duck Duck says, DOC SKUNK, YOU MUST BE CONFUSED. YOU SEE, THE CONCERT IS AT 8 O'CLOCK TONIGHT.

Dr. Skunk says, OH, I'M AFRAID NOT DUCK DUCK. THE CONCERT WAS AT 8 O'CLOCK THIS MORNING. IT ALREADY HAPPENED.

Duck Duck says, WAIT, WAIT. YOU'RE TELLING ME THAT I MISSED THE CONCERT?

Donkey says, OH, DUCK DUCK, I'M SO SORRY.

[Tense music plays]

Duck Duck says, NO. NO. NO, NO, NO, NO! I--I MUST HAVE GOTTEN CONFUSED. THIS--WELL, THIS IS TERRIBLE, I--I-- I--

[Screaming]

Duck Duck runs into the bulrushes.

[Rustling]

Dr. Skunk says, UH...

Later, Bob Dog, Donkey, and Panda watch the bulrushes shake.

[Duck Duck crying, bulrushes rustling]

Donkey says, OH, I FEEL SO SORRY FOR DUCK DUCK.

Bob Dog says, YEAH, ME TOO, BUT WHAT CAN WE DO?

Panda says, HM. I WONDER HOW I WOULD CHEER UP IF I MISSED MY FAVOURITE SHOW LIKE DUCK DUCK DID.

Donkey says, YEAH. HEY! HEY, MAYBE WE COULD THINK ABOUT WHAT MIGHT HELP US FEEL BETTER AND THEN TRY THAT FOR DUCK DUCK.

[Panda gasping]

Panda says, I LOVE THAT IDEA!

[Bright musical notes playing]

Donkey says, THEN I, DONKEY HODIE, WILL FIGURE OUT A WAY TO HELP DUCK DUCK FEEL BETTER.

[Panda giggling]

Bob Dog says, YEAH! US, TOO!

Panda says, YEAH!

Bob Dog says, UH, HM... OOH, OOH! I KNOW SOMETHING THAT WOULD HELP ME FEEL BETTER. MAYBE IT WOULD HELP DUCK DUCK FEEL LESS DISAPPOINTED, TOO.

Bob Dog runs away and returns with a silver ball.

[Slide whistles, happy musical notes play]

Bob Dog says, PLAYING WITH MY BARKAROO BALL ALWAYS MAKES ME FEEL BETTER WHEN I'M DISAPPOINTED.

Donkey nods at Panda.

Donkey says, HM.

Bob Dog says, OBSERVE!

Bob Dog throws the ball up.

[Upbeat music plays]

Bob Dog says, BARKAROO!

He catches the ball.

[Boinging, panting happily]

Panda says, HUH, THAT DOES LOOK LIKE FUN.

Bob Dog says, MM-HM.

Panda asks, OH, CAN I TRY?

Bob Dog says, OOH, GO RIGHT AHEAD. JUST DON'T FORGET TO YELL "BARKAROO."

Bob Dog throws the ball to Panda.

[Whooshing]

Panda says, OKAY.

Panda throws the ball up.

Panda says, BARKAROO!

Panda catches the ball.

[Upbeat music plays]

Panda says, HEYO! YOU TRY, DONKEY.

Panda throws the ball to Donkey.

[Whooshing]

Donkey says, OKAY!

[Donkey chuckling, clearing throat]

Donkey throws the ball up.

Donkey says, BARKAROO!

Donkey catches the ball.

Donkey says, HEE-HAW, THAT'S FUN.

Donkey throws the ball to Bob Dog.

[Whooshing]

Bob Dog says, YEAH! HERE YOU GO. LET'S GIVE IT A TRY.

He walks to the bulrushes.

Bob Dog says, DUCK DUCK!

Duck Duck pushes bulrushes to the side and looks at Bob Dog.

[Rustling, birds chirping]

Duck Duck says, WHAT-WHAT?

Bob Dog says, WELL, I THOUGHT ABOUT WHAT MAKES ME FEEL BETTER WHEN I'M DISAPPOINTED. MY BARKAROO BALL. SO, MAYBE IT'LL MAKE YOU FEEL BETTER, TOO.

[Sad music plays]

Duck Duck says, OH, WELL, UH, THANKS-THANKS BOB DOG, THAT IS VERY, VERY THOUGHTFUL OF YOU, BUT I'M JUST TOO DISAPPOINTED THAT I MISSED THE CONCERT.

[Sighing]

Bob Dog says, I'M SO SURPRISED DUCK DUCK DIDN'T WANT TO PLAY WITH THE BARKAROO BALL.

Donkey says, HM. ME, TOO. IT'S SO SPARKLY AND FUN.

Panda says, YEAH, WELL, SHE MUST BE REALLY, REALLY DISAPPOINTED THEN.

[Birds chirping]

Donkey says, HM. LET'S THINK OF SOMETHING ELSE TO HELP DUCK DUCK FEEL BETTER, HUH?

Panda says, MM. LET'S SEE, WHAT'S SOMETHING THAT WOULD MAKE ME FEEL BETTER IF I MISSED SOMETHING IMPORTANT? EH, OH!

Panda runs and returns, pushing a large purple chair.

[Slide whistle]

Panda says, MY ROCKING CHAIR! HEYO!

Bob Dog says, BOW WOW!

Donkey says, HEE-HAW!

Panda sits on his chair and rocks.

[Creaking]

Panda says, YUP. ONE ROCK IN MY FAVOURITE ROCKING CHAIR AND DUCK DUCK WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED ANYMORE.

[Panda chuckling]

Panda says, YIPPEE!

[Panda chuckling]

Panda says, GO AHEAD, GIVE IT A TRY.

Donkey and Bob Dog sit on the chair and rock.

[Boinging, gasping, sighing, creaking]

Donkey says, OOH.

[Bob Dog sighing]

Donkey says, OH, THIS IS FUN.

Bob Dog says, YEAH, AND RELAXING.

Panda says, YUP. I THINK DUCK DUCK MIGHT WANT TO TRY THIS. I'LL GO ASK HER. UH, HEY, DUCK DUCK.

Duck Duck asks, WHAT-WHAT?

Duck Duck steps out from behind the bulrushes.

[Bulrushes rustling]

Panda says, HI.

Duck Duck says, HI.

Panda says, WE'D LIKE TO INVITE YOU TO TAKE A ROCK ON MY FAVOURITE ROCKING CHAIR.

[Bright notes play]

Donkey and Bob Dog say, AH?

Panda says, IT ALWAYS HELPS ME FEEL BETTER.

Panda says, OH, OKAY. IT, UH, IT DOES LOOK LIKE FUN. I'LL, UH, I'LL TRY THE ROCKING CHAIR, I SUPPOSE. MM. MM...

Duck Duck sits on the rocking chair.

[Creaking]

Panda asks, SO, IS THE ROCKING CHAIR HELPING YOU FEEL BETTER, DUCK DUCK?

Duck Duck says, WELL, THANKS-THANKS FOR BRINGING THIS ROCKING CHAIR, PANDA--

Panda says, MM?

Duck Duck says, BUT, UH, I KEEP THINKING ABOUT MISSING THAT QUACK JAM CONCERT. SO, TO ANSWER YOUR QUESTION, NO, I'M STILL DISAPPOINTED.

[Everyone sighing, creaking, Duck Duck groaning]

Duck Duck walks back into the bulrushes.

[Rustling]

Panda says, I CAN'T BELIEVE MY FAVOURITE ROCKING CHAIR DIDN'T WORK.

Donkey says, HM, WELL, JUST BECAUSE SOMETHING MIGHT CHEER ME OR YOU UP, IT DOESN'T MEAN IT WILL CHEER DUCK DUCK UP.

[Sad music plays]

Panda says, HM, THAT'S A GOOD POINT. WE NEED TO IMAGINE WHAT WOULD CHEER DUCK DUCK UP, NOT WHAT WOULD CHEER US UP.

Bob Dog says, YEAH, WELL, WHAT WOULD CHEER UP DUCK DUCK?

Donkey says, HM, THINK, DONKEY HODIE, THINK. HM. DUCK DUCK IS DISAPPOINTED BECAUSE SHE MISSED A CONCERT. A CONCERT HAS MUSIC.

[Gasping]

Donkey says, MAYBE WE CAN PLAY MUSIC TO HELP DUCK DUCK FEEL BETTER!

Panda and Bob Dog says, YEAH!

Panda says, MUSIC!

Panda turns on a purple portable music player. He, Bob Dog, and Donkey dance beside the bulrushes.

[Clicking, rock music plays]

Donkey calls, DUCK DUCK!

Duck Duck says, WHAT-WHAT?

Donkey says, WHAT DO YOU THINK?

Duck Duck walks to the edge of the bulrushes.

[Music plays, bulrushes rustling]

Duck Duck says, OH, YEAH. YEAH, YEAH. I LIKE THIS SONG. THANKS. THANKS FOR TRYING TO CHEER ME UP. I DO FEEL A LITTLE BIT BETTER, BUT I'M STILL TOO DISAPPOINTED TO COME OUT. I DON'T KNOW WHEN I'LL EVER GET TO SEE MY FAVOURITE BAND PLAY.

[Sighing, rustling]

Bob Dog says, WELL, I THINK THE MUSIC WORKED A LITTLE.

Panda turns off the music player and puts it on the ground.

[Panda sighing, clicking, rock music stops]

Panda says, OKAY, LET'S KEEP THINKING OF SOMETHING ELSE THAT MIGHT HELP.

[Birds chirping, gentle music plays]

Donkey says, HM. HEY, IF PLAYING A SONG HELPED HER FEEL A LITTLE BETTER, THEN MAYBE A QUACK JAM SONG WOULD HELP HER FEEL A LOT BETTER!

Panda says, OH, AND SINCE DUCK DUCK MISSED HER CONCERT, WE CAN MAKE OUR OWN SPECIAL CONCERT JUST FOR HER.

Bob Dog says, YEAH! AND WE CAN PLAY HER QUACK JAM SONGS. BOW WOW!

Later, Panda sits behind a drum set, Bob Dog holds a banjo, and Donkey holds an electric guitar.

Donkey announces, PRESENTING OUR VERY OWN BAND.

Panda says, PLAYING QUACK JAM SONGS.

Bob Dog says, JUST FOR YOU, DUCK DUCK.

[Chuckling]

Donkey says, A ONE, TWO, THREE!

They play their instruments.

[Rock music plays]

Duck Duck comes out and watches the band play.

Duck Duck says, HM?

[Gasping, cheering]

Duck Duck dances and claps.

[Rhythmic clapping]

Bob Dog says, YEAH!

[Chuckling]

Duck Duck says, OH, HEARING THAT QUACK JAM SONG MADE ME FEEL SO MUCH BETTER!

Bob Dog says, OH, YEAH!

Panda says, HEYO!

Donkey says, ALRIGHT!

Duck Duck says, UM, HEY-HEY, DO YOU THINK THAT MAYBE, MAYBE I COULD PLAY IN THE BAND WITH YOU?

Donkey says, ABSOLUTELY!

Bob Dog says, OH, YEAH! WE'D LOVE IT.

Duck Duck says, OH, THIS IS INCREDIBLE. UH, OH, UH, AND, UH, ONE MORE LITTLE REQUEST. DO YOU THINK THAT I COULD PLEASE PLAY KEYBOARD JUST LIKE SPLASH DOES?

Panda says, OH, DEFINITELY, DUCK DUCK.

Duck Duck bounces excitedly.

[Duck Duck, boinging]

Duck Duck says, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! I'M SO EXCITED!

Donkey says, HEE-HAW! LET'S DO THIS THING.

Everyone says, YEAH!

Duck Duck joins the band and plays a keyboard.

[Rock music plays]

Duck Duck sings, EARLY IN THE MORNING AND ALL DAY LONG, YOU CAN HEAR THE PLACE A-ROCKING TO A QUACK JAM SONG.

Everyone sings, DOING THE QUACK JAM JAM. DOING THE QUACK JAM JAM. PLAYING THE QUACK JAM JAM. LET'S PLAY THE QUACK JAM JAM REELING AND A-ROCKING, JAMMING TO A QUACK JAM SONG. OOH.

Donkey sings, MAYBE STOP FOR LUNCH OR HAVE A LITTLE SNACK, COUPLE SIPS OF WATER THEN WE'VE GOTTA GET BACK.

Everyone sings, TO DO THE QUACK JAM JAM. DOING THE QUACK JAM JAM. WE'LL PLAY THE QUACK JAM JAM. LET'S PLAY THE QUACK JAM JAM. YOU REALLY CAN'T GO WRONG WHEN YOU'RE JAMMING TO A QUACK JAM SONG. OOH.

[Music stops, everyone cheering]

Donkey says, THAT WAS HEE-HAWESOME!

Duck Duck says, OH, THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH FOR UNDERSTANDING HOW DISAPPOINTED I WAS.

[Birds singing, gentle music plays]

Donkey says, OH, YOU'RE WELCOME, DUCK DUCK. WE ALL GET DISAPPOINTED SOMETIMES.

Duck Duck says, YOU KNOW, PUTTING ON THIS CONCERT FOR ME AND LETTING ME PLAY IN THE BAND, WELL, I JUST-- I JUST-- I FEEL A THOUSAND TIMES BETTER NOW.

Bob Dog says, AW, I'M SO HAPPY WE HELPED YOU FEEL BETTER, DUCK DUCK.

Panda says, YEAH, ME TOO. YOU KNOW, WE JUST THOUGHT ABOUT HOW WE'D FEEL IF WE WERE YOU, AND THEN WE IMAGINED WHAT MIGHT MAKE YOU FEEL BETTER.

Duck Duck says, OH, WELL, IT WORKED. I FEEL SO MUCH LESS DISAPPOINTED NOW.

Panda cheers, HEYO!

[Duck Duck chuckling]

Duck Duck says, WAIT-WAIT. YOU KNOW WHAT WOULD MAKE ME FEEL EVEN BETTER, HUH?

Donkey says, WHAT?

Bob Dog says, TELL US.

Duck Duck says, TO PLAY THE SONG AGAIN!
