Donkey Hodie, a yellow donkey with a purple mane and long eyelashes, exits the windmill through a doorway.
Donkey says, HEE-HAW!
The singers sing, DONKEY HODIE.
A person sings, SHE LOVES ADVENTURE, SHE LOVES SURPRISE. WHEN THERE'S A PROBLEM, SHE TRIES AND TRIES.
[Slide whistle]
The singers sing, LET'S GO, DONKEY HODIE.
The person sings, IF SHE FAILS, SHE'LL BOUNCE RIGHT BACK. COME ON, DUCK DUCK, GIVE A QUACK.
In front of Grampy Hodie’s house, Donkey jumps onto a drum and bounces off. Grampy Hodie watches her bounce up in front of Duck Duck in the sky.
[Slide whistle]
Duck Duck, a green duck, quacks, KEE-KEE! QUACK!
The singers sing, DONKEY HODIE.
In Bob Dog’s front yard, Donkey and Bob Dog, a brown dog, ride on top of bouncing balls.
[Boings]
The person sings, PLAYS WITH BOB DOG, THEY HAVE A BALL. IT'S FUN FOR THEM, IT'S FUN FOR ALL.
Donkey bounces off her ball and lands in front of Purple Panda’s spaceship.
[Boinging, slide whistle]
Bob Dog barks, BOW-WOW!

In outer space, Donkey and Purple Panda ride in the spaceship.
[Whoosh]

Grey clouds fill the sky and rain falls.
[Thunder booming, Duck Duck exclaiming, rain pattering]

Panda says, OH NO!
Donkey says, THE SAFEST PLACE TO BE IS INDOORS.
[Panda yelping]
Panda shouts, LET'S GO!
Duck Duck says, KAY-KAY!
Everyone runs.
[Slide whistle]
Inside his spaceship, Panda says, PHEW! SAFE AND SOUND. HEY-OH!
[Wind gusting, rain pattering, gentle music plays]
Donkey says, WELL, WE CAN'T PLAY OUTSIDE. NOT WHILE IT'S STORMY.
Duck Duck says, YEP-YEP, THAT IS A NOPE-NOPE.
Donkey asks, SO, WHAT SHOULD WE DO INSTEAD?
Panda, Duck Duck and Donkey gaze out the window. Lightning flashes and Panda runs away.
[Thunder booming]
Duck Duck says, OH, HEY, PANDA? UH, HEY-HEY, WHAT HAPPENED TO PANDA?
Donkey says, HMM? UH...
Duck Duck says, OH!
Panda hides under a purple blanket.
[Donkey gasping, Panda’s teeth chattering, whimpering]
Donkey asks, PANDA, ARE YOU OKAY?
Panda stands with the blanket covering his head.
[Panda whimpering]
Panda says, I'M SORRY, I'M JUST NOT USED TO THIS. UH, ON PLANET PURPLE, WE DON'T HAVE SUCH NOISY STORMS. OUR THUNDERSTORMS SOUND A LITTLE MORE LIKE THIS:
Panda says, in a high-pitched voice, "BOOM! BAH! BOOM!" "TWINKLE, TWINKLE, TWINKLE!" "BOOM! BOOM!" "AYE-AYE-AYE!" "DING!"
Duck Duck says, UH... WAIT-WAIT. THAT IS WHAT STORMS SOUND LIKE ON PLANET PURPLE?
Panda says, YEAH, THEY'RE NOT BIG CRASHES FROM THE SKY LIKE HERE. THEY'RE KIND OF SILLY.
[Panda chuckling, gentle music plays]
Donkey says, WELL, YEAH, THUNDER IN SOMEPLACE ELSE CAN BE LOUD AND SCARY, BUT IT CAN'T HURT YOU WHEN YOU'RE IN HERE.
Panda says, AH, THANK YOU, DONKEY. BUT I CAN'T HELP FEELING THE WAY I FEEL. IT STILL SCARES ME.
Duck Duck says, AWW. I UNDERSTAND, PANDA.
Donkey says, YEAH, I'M FEELING SAD, BUT NOT ABOUT THE THUNDER.
Panda asks, WHAT'S MAKING YOU SAD?
Donkey says, WELL, I WAS REALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO PLAYING OUTSIDE TODAY, AND NOW WE CAN'T.
Panda says, OH, I WAS TOO.
Duck Duck says, YEAH, I WAS THREE.
[Everyone sighing sadly]
Duck Duck says, BUT YOU KNOW, MAYBE IF WE JUST WAIT A LITTLE BIT, THE STORM WILL JUST STOP. YEAH?
Donkey says, MAYBE IT WILL. OKAY. LET'S WAIT.
[Everyone exhaling]
Duck Duck says, HEH.
[Everyone exhaling]
Duck Duck says, YEAH.
They look out the window.
[Wind gusting, rain pattering, Duck Duck groaning softly, Panda sighing]
Everyone sits in the living room.
[Yawning]
Duck Duck says, COME ON...
They lie on a carpet in the living room.
[Everyone exhaling heavily, Panda smacking his lips, clock ticking]
Donkey says, OKAY, WAITING FOR THE STORM TO STOP ISN'T WORKING OUT SO WELL.
Duck Duck says, NOPE-NOPE, IT IS NOT. AND NOW I AM VERY, VERY, VERY BORED. UGH. BEING STUCK INDOORS DURING A STORM IS SO BORING!
[Thunder booming, Panda yelping]
Panda shouts, OH.
[Clock ticking]
Donkey says, HMM. I WONDER WHAT WE CAN DO TO HELP PANDA NOT BE SCARED IN THE STORM. OR TO HELP YOU FROM BEING VERY, VERY, BORED.
Duck Duck says, VERY, VERY, VERY BORED. YOU FORGOT A "VERY."
Donkey says, SORRY. VERY, VERY, VERY BORED.
Duck Duck says, THANK YOU.
Donkey says, OR TO HELP ME FROM BEING SAD, BECAUSE I REALLY WANT TO BE PLAYING OUTSIDE INSTEAD OF BEING STUCK INSIDE WHEN IT'S ALL RAINY AND THUNDERY.
Panda puts an arm around Donkey’s shoulders.
[Thunder booming, Panda whimpering]
Panda says, I REALLY WISH THAT I COULDN'T HEAR THAT THUNDER.
[Whimpering, gasping]
Panda says, WAIT A MINUTE!
Panda runs away and returns wearing a brown beanie hat over his ears.
[Slide whistle]
Panda says, OKAY! NOW I WON'T HEAR THE THUNDER.
[Everyone chucking]
Duck Duck says, HEY, THAT IS GREAT, PANDA!
Panda says, WHAT?
Donkey says, OH, WE'RE HAPPY YOU CAN'T HEAR THE THUNDER.
Panda asks, WHAT DID YOU SAY, DONKEY?
Duck Duck says, OH, NOW HE CAN'T HEAR US, EITHER!
Panda says, NOW I CAN'T HEAR YOU EITHER.
Donkey says AWW.
Everyone looks out the window. Lightning flashes.
[Whooshing, thunder booming, Panda whimpering, wind gusting]
Donkey says, I WONDER IF THERE'S ANYTHING ELSE WE CAN DO TO MAKE YOU A LITTLE LESS SCARED, AND YOU A LITTLE LESS BORED.
Duck Duck says, YEAH.
Donkey says, AND ME FEEL LESS SAD.
Panda says, YEAH, OR MAYBE ONE THING THAT WILL HELP ALL OF US FEEL BETTER.
Everyone says, HMM.
Duck Duck says, OH, HEY! MAYBE…MAYBE WE COULD ALL PLAY WITH... THIS BALL! HUH? HUH? WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THIS?
Duck Duck holds a shiny red ball.
Panda says, OH!
Donkey says, WOW!
Panda says, THAT'S A GOOD IDEA.
Donkey says, YEAH.
Duck Duck says, YEAH! KAY-KAY. HEADS UP, PANDA.
Panda says, OH!
Duck Duck says, YEAH!
Duck Duck throws the ball to Panda.
[Slide whistle, giggling, upbeat music plays]
Panda says, HERE YOU GO, DONKEY!
Donkey says, OKAY.
Panda throws the ball to Donkey.
[Slide whistle]
Duck Duck says, OH, YEAH!
Donkey says, OKAY, DUCK-DUCK!
Donkey throws the ball to Duck Duck.
[Slide whistle]
Duck Duck says, YEAH.
[Laughing]
Duck Duck says, OKAY, LOOK OUT, I'M GOING TO PUT SOME PEPPER ON THIS ONE. YEAH!
Duck Duck throws the ball high into the air. Everyone turns and watches the ball.
[Slide whistle, gasping, ball boinging, exclamations, crashing]
Panda says, OH...
Duck Duck says, WHOOPSIE. MAYBE THROWING THINGS AROUND INSIDE WAS NOT THE BEST IDEA.
Panda says, I THINK THAT'S WHAT MAMA MEANT BY: "DON'T PLAY BALL IN THE HOUSE."
[Upbeat music plays]
Donkey says, I WISH WE COULD THINK OF ONE IDEA THAT WOULD SOLVE ALL OUR PROBLEMS. SOME FUN THING WE COULD DO TOGETHER.
Panda says, YEAH, SO I'M NOT SCARED.
Donkey says, AND I'M NOT SAD.
Duck Duck says, AND I'M NOT VERY, VERY, VERY BORED. OR VERY, VERY BORED. OR VERY BORED. OR EVEN JUST BORED.
[Duck Duck tapping her tummy, Panda sighing]
Donkey says, THINK, DONKEY HODIE, THINK! WHAT CAN WE PLAY? WHAT CAN WE PLAY? HMM.
Donkey looks at a puppet theatre.
[Gasping]
Donkey says, AH-HAH! I HAVE A HEE-HAWESOME IDEA. I, DONKEY HODIE, WILL PUT ON A PUPPET SHOW WITH MY PALS.
Panda says, HMM.
Donkey says, IT WILL BE GREAT! WE CAN USE PANDA'S PUPPET THEATRE.
Panda says, A PUPPET SHOW? HOW WOULD THAT HELP?
Donkey looks at the others through the stage window in the puppet theatre.
[Slide whistle]
Donkey says, WELL, IT'S SOMETHING FUN WE CAN DO TOGETHER. AND MAYBE IT WILL HELP US ALL FEEL BETTER.
Duck Duck says, OH, YEAH, YEAH! AND I KNOW WHAT THE PUPPET SHOW COULD BE.
[Donkey gasping]
Panda asks, WHAT?
Duck Duck says, KAY-KAY, GET THIS. SEE, THE PUPPETS COULD BE PLAYING OUTDOORS, SO, MAYBE, MAYBE DONKEY, YOU WON'T BE SO SAD ABOUT NOT BEING OUTSIDE.
[Gasping]
Panda says, DUCK-DUCK!
Duck Duc says, WHAT-WHAT?
Panda says, YOU SHOULD JUST WRITE THE SHOW.
Duck Duck says, LITTLE ME?
Panda says, YEAH! YOU WON'T BE BORED IF YOU ARE WRITING.
Duck Duck says, WELL, THAT'S TRUE.
Donkey says, YEAH! AND THEN WE CAN SING ABOUT THE THUNDERSTORM.
Duck Duck says, OOH!
Panda says, OH?
Donkey says, IF WE SING ALONG TO THE LOUD NOISES, THEN, PANDA, MAYBE YOU WON'T BE AS SCARED OF THEM!
[Panda gasping]
Duck Duck says, HEY-HEY, THAT'S A GREAT IDEA! HEY-OH!
[Cheering, rain pattering]
Everyone says, PUPPET SHOW!
Later, everyone makes their puppets using cardboard, felt, pom-poms, pipe cleaners, and googly eyes.
[Giggling, scissors snipping]
Duck Duck says, OKAY, HERE IS MY LITTLE HEAD. AND HERE IS MY LITTLE BEAK.
Panda holds up his felt puppet on a stick.
[Slide whistle, upbeat music plays]
Panda says, HEY-OH!
Donkey holds up her felt puppet on a stick.

Donkey says, HEE-HAW!
Duck Duck holds up her felt puppet on a stick.

Duck Duck says, DUCK DUCK SAYS YEAH!
Panda arranges stuffies.
Panda says, HERE'S YOUR SEAT.
[Giggling]
Duck Duck paces, writing on a notepad.
Duck Duck says, YEAH, THIS IS SOME GOOD STUFF RIGHT HERE. OH, THIS IS GOLD!
Donkey and Panda paint a blue sky and grassy hills on a canvas.
[Humming, upbeat music plays]
Panda says, HEY-OH!
Duck Duck, Donkey, and Panda crouch behind the puppet theatre. On the other side, the stuffies face the stage.
Duck Duck says, KAY-KAY, SO, TAKE ME THROUGH THIS CHOREOGRAPHY AGAIN.
Panda says, OKAY. READY?
Duck Duck says, YEAH, YEAH.
Panda says, HERE WE GO. TWO, THREE, FOUR. AND RIGHT...
They practice moving their puppets behind the theatre.
[Upbeat music plays]
Everyone says, AND LEFT, AND RIGHT, AND LEFT, AND STOP!
Duck Duck says, HEY, YEAH! I THINK WE'RE READY.
Donkey says YEAH, IT'S SHOWTIME!
Panda quietly says, YAY! UM, HEY, SPACESHIP, DIM HOUSE LIGHTS.
The lights dim.
[Chiming]
Panda says, WHOA...OKAY. AND SPOTLIGHT ON!
The spotlight illuminates the puppet theatre stage.
[Clicking]
Duck Duck says, THIS IS EXCITING!
Donkey says, YEAH, BREAK A LEG, EVERYONE!
Duck Duck says, THANKS! WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?
Panda announces, LADIES AND GENTLE-STUFFIES. PLEASE TAKE YOUR SEATS.
The donkey puppet appears on the stage.
Donkey says, HI, EVERYBODY!
The Duck Duck puppet appears beside her.
[Slide whistle]
Duck Duck says, WELCOME TO THE SHOW!
The Panda puppet appears.
[Slide whistle]
Panda says, WE HOPE YOU ENJOY OUR VERY SPECIAL PUPPET SHOW.
A cardboard tree and cardboard sun appear on the stage.
[Rock music plays]
Donkey sings, SOMETIMES THE DAYTIMES ARE SUNNY AND BRIGHT.
Grey cardboard clouds with blue yarn rain appear over the puppets.
Panda sings, BUT THEY CAN GROW CLOUDY AND DARK AS THE NIGHT.
Duck Duck sings, WIND BLOWS THROUGH THE TREES, MAKING LEAVES FLAP AND FLUTTER.

Duck Duck sings, RAIN DROPS DOWN IN A FLURRY.
All sing, PATTER, PITTER, PATTER.
Panda sings, BUT TODAY WE WON'T WORRY AS LONG WE STAY SAFE AND DRY, NICE AND WARM.
Donkey sings, WE DON'T HAVE TO BE TOO AFRAID OF THIS STORM.
All sing, WE CAN STILL HAVE LOTS OF FUN. LAUGH AND SING, DANCE AND PLAY.

[Cheering, cross-talking]

Duck Duck, Donkey, and Panda peer over the stage at their stuffie audience.

Duck Duck says, I MADE THIS BY MYSELF.
[Whooshing]
Later, Duck Duck, Donkey, and Panda walk into the living room.
Donkey says, HEE-HAW! THAT WAS LOTS OF FUN!
Duck Duck says, YEP-YEP! YEAH!
[Thunder booming, Panda gasping]
Panda says, YOU KNOW WHAT?
Duck Duck asks, WHAT-WHAT?
Panda says, I'M NOT SCARED OF THE SOUND THUNDER MAKES NOW. IT WAS ACTUALLY FUN TO SING ALONG WITH IT.
[Gentle music plays]
Duck Duck says, HMM. NOW I'M NOT BORED ANYMORE. I MEAN, NOT EVEN ONE LITTLE "VERY."
Donkey says, AND WE'RE HAVING SUCH A GOOD TIME THAT I DON'T FEEL SAD ABOUT NOT BEING OUTSIDE ANYMORE.
[Panda chuckling]

They look out the window.

Everyone runs.
[Slide whistle]
Inside his spaceship, Panda says, PHEW! SAFE AND SOUND. HEY-OH!
[Wind gusting, rain pattering, gentle music plays]
Donkey says, WELL, WE CAN'T PLAY OUTSIDE. NOT WHILE IT'S STORMY.
Duck Duck says, YEP-YEP, THAT IS A NOPE-NOPE.
Donkey asks, SO, WHAT SHOULD WE DO INSTEAD?
Panda, Duck Duck and Donkey gaze out the window. Lightning flashes and Panda runs away.
[Thunder booming]
Duck Duck says, OH, HEY, PANDA? UH, HEY-HEY, WHAT HAPPENED TO PANDA?
Donkey says, HMM? UH...
Duck Duck says, OH!
Panda hides under a purple blanket.
[Donkey gasping, Panda’s teeth chattering, whimpering]
Donkey asks, PANDA, ARE YOU OKAY?
Panda stands with the blanket covering his head.
[Panda whimpering]
Panda says, I'M SORRY, I'M JUST NOT USED TO THIS. UH, ON PLANET PURPLE, WE DON'T HAVE SUCH NOISY STORMS. OUR THUNDERSTORMS SOUND A LITTLE MORE LIKE THIS:
Panda says, in a high-pitched voice, "BOOM! BAH! BOOM!" "TWINKLE, TWINKLE, TWINKLE!" "BOOM! BOOM!" "AYE-AYE-AYE!" "DING!"
Duck Duck says, UH... WAIT-WAIT. THAT IS WHAT STORMS SOUND LIKE ON PLANET PURPLE?
Panda says, YEAH, THEY'RE NOT BIG CRASHES FROM THE SKY LIKE HERE. THEY'RE KIND OF SILLY.
[Panda chuckling, gentle music plays]
Donkey says, WELL, YEAH, THUNDER IN SOMEPLACE ELSE CAN BE LOUD AND SCARY, BUT IT CAN'T HURT YOU WHEN YOU'RE IN HERE.
Panda says, AH, THANK YOU, DONKEY. BUT I CAN'T HELP FEELING THE WAY I FEEL. IT STILL SCARES ME.
Duck Duck says, AWW. I UNDERSTAND, PANDA.
Donkey says, YEAH, I'M FEELING SAD, BUT NOT ABOUT THE THUNDER.
Panda asks, WHAT'S MAKING YOU SAD?
Donkey says, WELL, I WAS REALLY LOOKING FORWARD TO PLAYING OUTSIDE TODAY, AND NOW WE CAN'T.
Panda says, OH, I WAS TOO.
Duck Duck says, YEAH, I WAS THREE.
[Everyone sighing sadly]
Duck Duck says, BUT YOU KNOW, MAYBE IF WE JUST WAIT A LITTLE BIT, THE STORM WILL JUST STOP. YEAH?
Donkey says, MAYBE IT WILL. OKAY. LET'S WAIT.
[Everyone exhaling]
Duck Duck says, HEH.
[Everyone exhaling]
Duck Duck says, YEAH.
They look out the window.
[Wind gusting, rain pattering, Duck Duck groaning softly, Panda sighing]
Everyone sits in the living room.
[Yawning]
Duck Duck says, COME ON...
They lie on a carpet in the living room.
[Everyone exhaling heavily, Panda smacking his lips, clock ticking]
Donkey says, OKAY, WAITING FOR THE STORM TO STOP ISN'T WORKING OUT SO WELL.
Duck Duck says, NOPE-NOPE, IT IS NOT. AND NOW I AM VERY, VERY, VERY BORED. UGH. BEING STUCK INDOORS DURING A STORM IS SO BORING!
[Thunder booming, Panda yelping]
Panda shouts, OH.
[Clock ticking]
Donkey says, HMM. I WONDER WHAT WE CAN DO TO HELP PANDA NOT BE SCARED IN THE STORM. OR TO HELP YOU FROM BEING VERY, VERY, BORED.
Duck Duck says, VERY, VERY, VERY BORED. YOU FORGOT A "VERY."
Donkey says, SORRY. VERY, VERY, VERY BORED.
Duck Duck says, THANK YOU.
Donkey says, OR TO HELP ME FROM BEING SAD, BECAUSE I REALLY WANT TO BE PLAYING OUTSIDE INSTEAD OF BEING STUCK INSIDE WHEN IT'S ALL RAINY AND THUNDERY.
Panda puts an arm around Donkey’s shoulders.
[Thunder booming, Panda whimpering]
Panda says, I REALLY WISH THAT I COULDN'T HEAR THAT THUNDER.
[Whimpering, gasping]
Panda says, WAIT A MINUTE!
Panda runs away and returns wearing a brown beanie hat over his ears.
[Slide whistle]
Panda says, OKAY! NOW I WON'T HEAR THE THUNDER.
[Everyone chucking]
Duck Duck says, HEY, THAT IS GREAT, PANDA!
Panda says, WHAT?
Donkey says, OH, WE'RE HAPPY YOU CAN'T HEAR THE THUNDER.
Panda asks, WHAT DID YOU SAY, DONKEY?
Duck Duck says, OH, NOW HE CAN'T HEAR US, EITHER!
Panda says, NOW I CAN'T HEAR YOU EITHER.
Donkey says AWW.
Everyone looks out the window. Lightning flashes.
[Whooshing, thunder booming, Panda whimpering, wind gusting]
Donkey says, I WONDER IF THERE'S ANYTHING ELSE WE CAN DO TO MAKE YOU A LITTLE LESS SCARED, AND YOU A LITTLE LESS BORED.
Duck Duck says, YEAH.
Donkey says, AND ME FEEL LESS SAD.
Panda says, YEAH, OR MAYBE ONE THING THAT WILL HELP ALL OF US FEEL BETTER.
Everyone says, HMM.
Duck Duck says, OH, HEY! MAYBE…MAYBE WE COULD ALL PLAY WITH... THIS BALL! HUH? HUH? WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THIS?
Duck Duck holds a shiny red ball.
Panda says, OH!
Donkey says, WOW!
Panda says, THAT'S A GOOD IDEA.
Donkey says, YEAH.
Duck Duck says, YEAH! KAY-KAY. HEADS UP, PANDA.
Panda says, OH!
Duck Duck says, YEAH!
Duck Duck throws the ball to Panda.
[Slide whistle, giggling, upbeat music plays]
Panda says, HERE YOU GO, DONKEY!
Donkey says, OKAY.
Panda throws the ball to Donkey.
[Slide whistle]
Duck Duck says, OH, YEAH!
Donkey says, OKAY, DUCK-DUCK!
Donkey throws the ball to Duck Duck.
[Slide whistle]
Duck Duck says, YEAH.
[Laughing]
Duck Duck says, OKAY, LOOK OUT, I'M GOING TO PUT SOME PEPPER ON THIS ONE. YEAH!
Duck Duck throws the ball high into the air. Everyone turns and watches the ball.
[Slide whistle, gasping, ball boinging, exclamations, crashing]
Panda says, OH...
Duck Duck says, WHOOPSIE. MAYBE THROWING THINGS AROUND INSIDE WAS NOT THE BEST IDEA.
Panda says, I THINK THAT'S WHAT MAMA MEANT BY: "DON'T PLAY BALL IN THE HOUSE."
[Upbeat music plays]
Donkey says, I WISH WE COULD THINK OF ONE IDEA THAT WOULD SOLVE ALL OUR PROBLEMS. SOME FUN THING WE COULD DO TOGETHER.
Panda says, YEAH, SO I'M NOT SCARED.
Donkey says, AND I'M NOT SAD.
Duck Duck says, AND I'M NOT VERY, VERY, VERY BORED. OR VERY, VERY BORED. OR VERY BORED. OR EVEN JUST BORED.
[Duck Duck tapping her tummy, Panda sighing]
Donkey says, THINK, DONKEY HODIE, THINK! WHAT CAN WE PLAY? WHAT CAN WE PLAY? HMM.
Donkey looks at a puppet theatre.
[Gasping]
Donkey says, AH-HAH! I HAVE A HEE-HAWESOME IDEA. I, DONKEY HODIE, WILL PUT ON A PUPPET SHOW WITH MY PALS.
Panda says, HMM.
Donkey says, IT WILL BE GREAT! WE CAN USE PANDA'S PUPPET THEATRE.
Panda says, A PUPPET SHOW? HOW WOULD THAT HELP?
Donkey looks at the others through the stage window in the puppet theatre.
[Slide whistle]
Donkey says, WELL, IT'S SOMETHING FUN WE CAN DO TOGETHER. AND MAYBE IT WILL HELP US ALL FEEL BETTER.
Duck Duck says, OH, YEAH, YEAH! AND I KNOW WHAT THE PUPPET SHOW COULD BE.
[Donkey gasping]
Panda asks, WHAT?
Duck Duck says, KAY-KAY, GET THIS. SEE, THE PUPPETS COULD BE PLAYING OUTDOORS, SO, MAYBE, MAYBE DONKEY, YOU WON'T BE SO SAD ABOUT NOT BEING OUTSIDE.
[Gasping]
Panda says, DUCK-DUCK!
Duck Duc says, WHAT-WHAT?
Panda says, YOU SHOULD JUST WRITE THE SHOW.
Duck Duck says, LITTLE ME?
Panda says, YEAH! YOU WON'T BE BORED IF YOU ARE WRITING.
Duck Duck says, WELL, THAT'S TRUE.
Donkey says, YEAH! AND THEN WE CAN SING ABOUT THE THUNDERSTORM.
Duck Duck says, OOH!
Panda says, OH?
Donkey says, IF WE SING ALONG TO THE LOUD NOISES, THEN, PANDA, MAYBE YOU WON'T BE AS SCARED OF THEM!
[Panda gasping]
Duck Duck says, HEY-HEY, THAT'S A GREAT IDEA! HEY-OH!
[Cheering, rain pattering]
Everyone says, PUPPET SHOW!
Later, everyone makes their puppets using cardboard, felt, pom-poms, pipe cleaners, and googly eyes.
[Giggling, scissors snipping]
Duck Duck says, OKAY, HERE IS MY LITTLE HEAD. AND HERE IS MY LITTLE BEAK.
Panda holds up his felt puppet on a stick.
[Slide whistle, upbeat music plays]
Panda says, HEY-OH!
Donkey holds up her felt puppet on a stick.
[Slide whistle]
Donkey says, HEE-HAW!
Duck Duck holds up her felt puppet on a stick.
[Slide whistle]
Duck Duck says, DUCK DUCK SAYS YEAH!
Panda arranges stuffies.
Panda says, HERE'S YOUR SEAT.
[Giggling]
Duck Duck paces, writing on a notepad.
Duck Duck says, YEAH, THIS IS SOME GOOD STUFF RIGHT HERE. OH, THIS IS GOLD!
Donkey and Panda paint a blue sky and grassy hills on a canvas.
[Humming, upbeat music plays]
Panda says, HEY-OH!
Duck Duck, Donkey, and Panda crouch behind the puppet theatre. On the other side, the stuffies face the stage.
Duck Duck says, KAY-KAY, SO, TAKE ME THROUGH THIS CHOREOGRAPHY AGAIN.
Panda says, OKAY. READY?
Duck Duck says, YEAH, YEAH.
Panda says, HERE WE GO. TWO, THREE, FOUR. AND RIGHT...
They practice moving their puppets behind the theatre.
[Upbeat music plays]
Everyone says, AND LEFT, AND RIGHT, AND LEFT, AND STOP!
Duck Duck says, HEY, YEAH! I THINK WE'RE READY.
Donkey says YEAH, IT'S SHOWTIME!
Panda quietly says, YAY! UM, HEY, SPACESHIP, DIM HOUSE LIGHTS.
The lights dim.
[Chiming]
Panda says, WHOA...OKAY. AND SPOTLIGHT ON!
The spotlight illuminates the puppet theatre stage.
[Clicking]
Duck Duck says, THIS IS EXCITING!
Donkey says, YEAH, BREAK A LEG, EVERYONE!
Duck Duck says, THANKS! WHAT DOES THAT MEAN?
Panda announces, LADIES AND GENTLE-STUFFIES. PLEASE TAKE YOUR SEATS.
The donkey puppet appears on the stage.
Donkey says, HI, EVERYBODY!
The Duck Duck puppet appears beside her.
[Slide whistle]
Duck Duck says, WELCOME TO THE SHOW!
The Panda puppet appears.
[Slide whistle]
Panda says, WE HOPE YOU ENJOY OUR VERY SPECIAL PUPPET SHOW.
A cardboard tree and cardboard sun appear on the stage.
[Rock music plays]
Donkey sings, SOMETIMES THE DAYTIMES ARE SUNNY AND BRIGHT.
Grey cardboard clouds with blue yarn rain appear over the puppets.
Panda sings, BUT THEY CAN GROW CLOUDY AND DARK AS THE NIGHT.
Duck Duck sings, WIND BLOWS THROUGH THE TREES, MAKING LEAVES FLAP AND FLUTTER.
Panda sings, WHEN THUNDER STARTS BOOMING, I TREMBLE AND SHUDDER.
The three puppets shake.
[Thunder booming, wobbling]
Duck Duck sings, WHEN RAINDROPS START FALLING.
Panda sings, AND LIGHTNING STARTS FLASHING.
A cardboard house appears.
Donkey sings, WE CAN'T PLAY OUTSIDE, SO INDOORS WE GO DASHING.
Panda sings, SO WHAT IF THERE'S NO SUN?
Duck Duck sings, AND WE'RE BORED, SCARED, OR SAD?
Donkey sings, WE CAN PUT ON A SHOW AND OUR DAY WON'T BE SO BAD.
[Thunder booming]
All sing, CRACK-A-BOOM, CRASH.
Duck Duck sings, THAT'S THE NOISE THUNDER MAKES.
All sing, KABOOM, CRASH, KABOOM.
Panda sings, MAKES MY KNEES START TO SHAKE.
All sing, CRACK-A-BOOM, CRASH.
Duck Duck sings, IT'S THE SOUND OUR EARS HEAR.
All sing, KABOOM, CRASH, KABOOM.
Panda sings, HAT SOUND I WON'T FEAR.
Donkey sings, AS LONG AS WE STAY SAFE AND DRY AND NICE AND WARM.
Duck Duck sings, WE DON'T HAVE TO BE TOO AFRAID OF THIS STORM.

All sing, WHOOSH, FLASH, WHOOSH.
Panda sings, THE WIND BLOWS THROUGH THE TREES.
All sing, CRINKLE, CRINKLE, FLUTTER.
Donkey sings, RUSTLING THE LEAVES.
All sing, PITTER, PATTER, PITTER.
Duck Duck sings, RAIN DROPS DOWN IN A FLURRY.
All sing, PATTER, PITTER, PATTER.
Panda sings, BUT TODAY WE WON'T WORRY AS LONG WE STAY SAFE AND DRY, NICE AND WARM.
Donkey sings, WE DON'T HAVE TO BE TOO AFRAID OF THIS STORM.
All sing, WE CAN STILL HAVE LOTS OF FUN. LAUGH AND SING, DANCE AND PLAY.
Donkey sings, ON THIS TOTALLY WONDERFUL, THUNDERFUL DAY.
[Cheering, cross-talking]

Duck Duck, Donkey, and Panda peer over the stage at their stuffie audience.
Duck Duck says, IT WAS ME THE WHOLE TIME!
Everyone says, THANK YOU SO MUCH! THANK YOU! THANK YOU!
Duck Duck says, I MADE THIS BY MYSELF.
[Whooshing]
Later, Duck Duck, Donkey, and Panda walk into the living room.
Donkey says, HEE-HAW! THAT WAS LOTS OF FUN!
Duck Duck says, YEP-YEP! YEAH!
[Thunder booming, Panda gasping]
Panda says, YOU KNOW WHAT?
Duck Duck asks, WHAT-WHAT?
Panda says, I'M NOT SCARED OF THE SOUND THUNDER MAKES NOW. IT WAS ACTUALLY FUN TO SING ALONG WITH IT.
[Gentle music plays]
Duck Duck says, HMM. NOW I'M NOT BORED ANYMORE. I MEAN, NOT EVEN ONE LITTLE "VERY."
Donkey says, AND WE'RE HAVING SUCH A GOOD TIME THAT I DON'T FEEL SAD ABOUT NOT BEING OUTSIDE ANYMORE.
[Panda chuckling]
Panda says, WELL, YOU WERE RIGHT, DONKEY.
Donkey says, THAT PUPPET SHOW IDEA...THAT REALLY WAS ONE HEE-HAWESOME THING TO HELP ALL THREE OF US.
[Clock ticking]
Everyone says, MMM-HMM!
Donkey says, HEY, LET'S LOOK OUT THE WINDOW AND SEE IF IT'S STILL STORMY.
Panda and Duck Duck say, YEAH!
They look out the window.
[Wind gusting, rain pattering]
Duck Duck says, OH, UH...HASN'T STOPPED YET. GUESS WE STILL CAN'T GO OUTSIDE TO PLAY.
Everyone says, BUT THAT'S OKAY!
Donkey says, OH! LET'S PUT ON ANOTHER PUPPET SHOW!
They run away from the window.
[Cheering music plays, rain pattering]
Duck Duck says, YEP-YEP, YEAH!
Panda says, THIS TIME, I WANT TO WRITE THE SHOW.
[Giggling, thunder booming]
Duck Duck says, OH, YEAH! I CAN DESIGN THE SCENERY THIS TIME. I'VE GOT SOME IDEAS.
Donkey says, OH, AND I'LL DO THE MUSIC!
Duck Duck says, YEAH!
Panda says, YOU KNOW, THIS TURNED OUT TO BE A PRETTY WONDERFUL THUNDERFUL DAY.
Donkey says, YOU SAID IT, PANDA.
Panda says, HEY-OH!
Duck Duck says, YEAH!
