In front of Grampy Hodie’s house, Donkey jumps onto a drum and bounces off. Grampy Hodie watches her bounce up in front of Duck Duck in the sky.

Duck Duck, a green duck, quacks, KEE-KEE! QUACK!

In Bob Dog’s front yard, Donkey and Bob Dog, a brown dog, ride on top of bouncing balls.

Donkey picks up the hoop, and it falls.
Donkey says, HA! OPE. WHOOPS. HA-HA!
Donkey picks up the hoop, wiggles, and the hoop falls to the ground.
[Boinging]
Donkey says, WHOOPS.
Mama Panda says, NOW, NOW, NOW, NOW, HOLD ON A MINUTE THERE, DONKEY HODIE! NOW, LET'S TRY IT WITHOUT THE HOOPY HOOP, HUH?
[Gentle music continues]
Donkey says, HOOPY HOOP WITHOUT THE HOOP?
Mama Panda says, MM-HMM. YEAH, IT'LL HELP YA LEARN THE MOVES.
Panda says, OH YEAH! THAT'S HOW I LEARNED. WITH A PRETEND HOOP! LET'S SEE, I MIGHT HAVE ONE FOR YOU. OH. HERE'S A NICE ONE.
Panda pretends to give Donkey an invisible hoop.
Donkey says, OOOH, SO SPARKLY!
[Giggling]

They both fall to the ground.

They step back and forth while hoopy hooping.

Donkey and Panda follow Mama Panda.

Everyone chants, HOOPY-WALK-A-ROONI! HOOPY-WALK-A-ROONI! HOOPY-WALK-A-ROO—
Mama Panda’s headband covers her eyes. She stops walking, and her hoop falls to the ground.
[Slide whistle, thumping]
Mama Panda says, OH!
Panda asks, ARE YOU OKAY, MAMA?
Mama Panda replies, OH. YEAH, BUT, UH, MY HOOPY HEADBAND SURE ISN'T.
[Chuckling]
Mama Panda says, OH! I CAN'T HOOPY HOOP WITH A LOOSE HOOPY HEADBAND.
[Music stops, birds singing]
Panda asks, OH, DOES THIS MEAN WE CAN'T HOOPY HOOP, MAMA?
Mama Panda says, OH, OF COURSE NOT, PANDA PIE! I ALWAYS CARRY A SPARE HOOPY HEADBAND IN MY SPACESHIP. I JUST NEED TO GO FIND IT, AND I'LL BE RIGHT BACK! OKAY?
Panda says, OKAY, MAMA.
Mama Panda says, OKAY! WAIT A MINUTE! MY SPACESHIP'S NOT THIS WAY. IT'S...
Mama Panda turns and walks in the opposite direction while hoopy hooping.
[Slide whistle]
Panda says, WHOA!
Mama Panda continues, THIS WAY.
Panda says, MAMA! HOW DID YOU DO THAT?
Mama Panda says, YOU MEAN THE HOOPY-ROUND-A-ROONI?
Panda and Donkey repeat, THE HOOPY-ROUND-A-ROONI?
Mama Panda says, OH YEAH, IT'S ANOTHER HOOPY HOOP TRICK. YOU TURN ALL THE WAY AROUND TO GO BACK THE WAY YOU CAME WHILE YOU'RE HOOPY HOOPING.
[Upbeat music plays, slide whistle]
Mama Panda says, IT'S A PRETTY TRICKY TRICK.
Donkey and Panda say, WOW!
Mama Panda says, YOU MAY NOT BE ABLE TO DO IT RIGHT AWAY, BUT IF YOU PRACTICE, YOU'LL LEARN TO DO IT EVENTUALLY, OKAY? WE CAN PRACTICE IT TOGETHER WHEN I GET BACK!
Mama Panda walks away.

Donkey and Panda fall repeatedly.
[Thumping, both yelping]
Panda and Donkey hold their arms up, and their hoops fly over their heads.
Slide whistles, giggling]
Panda says, WHAT?
Donkey chases her hoop past the spaceship.
[Boinging]
Donkey says, WAIT. WAIT. WAIT. WAIT. WAIT.
Donkey and Panda stand with their arms up. Later, they run away from a flipping hoop.
[Slide whistle, yelping, panting, Panda sighing dramatically]
Panda says, I DON'T GET IT. MAMA SAID WE'D BE ABLE TO DO THE TRICK EVENTUALLY IF WE WORKED AT IT, BUT WE'RE NOT EVEN CLOSE! AND MAMA'S GOING TO BE BACK SOON!
Donkey says, THERE MUST BE A WAY FOR US TO LEARN THE TRICK. THINK, DONKEY HODIE, THINK! MAMA PANDA SAID WE HAD TO HOOPY HOOP, AND WALK IN LITTLE STEPS, AND TUR-UR-URN AT THE SAME TIME.

Donkey puts her hoop down.
