Paths lead to houses in a small village on a grassy hill. Four sails on a windmill rotate slowly.
Singers sing, HERE COMES DONKEY HODIE.
Donkey Hodie, a yellow donkey with a purple mane and long eyelashes, exits the windmill through a doorway.
Donkey says, HEE-HAW!
The singers sing, DONKEY HODIE.
A person sings, SHE LOVES ADVENTURE, SHE LOVES SURPRISE. WHEN THERE'S A PROBLEM, SHE TRIES AND TRIES.
[Slide whistle]
The singers sing, LET'S GO, DONKEY HODIE.
The person sings, IF SHE FAILS, SHE'LL BOUNCE RIGHT BACK. COME ON, DUCK DUCK, GIVE A QUACK.
In front of Grampy Hodie’s house, Donkey jumps onto a drum and bounces off. Grampy Hodie watches her bounce up in front of Duck Duck in the sky.
[Slide whistle]
Duck Duck, a green duck, quacks, KEE-KEE! QUACK!
The singers sing, DONKEY HODIE.
In Bob Dog’s front yard, Donkey and Bob Dog, a brown dog, ride on top of bouncing balls.

Donkey bounces off her ball and lands in front of Purple Panda’s spaceship.

Grampy stops beside a package on a table.
Grampy says, OOH, WAIT A MINUTE. I FORGOT I NEED TURTLE LOU TO DELIVER THIS TODAY. IT'S A BIRTHDAY PRESENT FOR KING FRIDAY! UH, HERE...
Grampy gives Donkey the wind racer, and Donkey’s mouth falls open.
[Thumping]
Grampy says, YOU TAKE THE WIND RACER OUT, AND I'LL BE BACK SOON. HAVE FUN!
Grampy leaves with the package.
[Donkey giggling]
Donkey says, YEAH...OH...
Donkey takes the wind racer outside.
[Whooshing, laughing]
Donkey says, READY, AND...
[Beeping, thrumming, upbeat music plays]
Donkey says, GO!
The wind racer floats in front of Donkey.
Donkey chases the wind racer.
[Donkey gasping, oohing, giggling, wind racer whirring, upbeat music plays]
Donkey says, FASTER...! FASTER!
[Laughing, whirring]
Donkey says, WOO-HOO! YEAH! OH, WAIT! WAIT!
[Whirring]
Donkey says, NO, NO, NO, NO! THAT'S TOO FAST!
The wind racer crashes into a tree and falls. Donkey runs to it.
[Whirring, honking, thumping, Donkey gasping, panting]
Donkey says, OH NO. I BROKE GRAMPY'S WIND RACER!
[Gulping]
Donkey carries the broken wind racer back to the cabin.
Donkey says, UH... MM... MM...
Donkey looks at the path leading to the cabin and sees Grampy and Panda walking together.
[Gasping]
Donkey says, OH, NO, NOW PANDA'S COMING OVER TO PLAY TOO?! I CAN'T LET GRAMPY SEE THIS. HM.
[Door opening, Donkey gasping]
Inside the house, Donkey runs through a doorway.
Panda says, HOWDY, DONKEY!
Grampy says, PANDA CAME OVER TO SEE THE WIND RACER.
Panda says, DONKEY...?
Grampy says, DONKEY...?
Panda says, DONKEY? OH! WELL, THERE'S DONKEY'S BACKPACK, SO... SHE'S STILL GOTTA BE HERE SOMEWHERE.
Grampy says, OH, YOU KNOW, I'M GOING TO GO CHECK THE KITCHEN.
[Gentle music plays]
Panda says, OKAY. UH, DONKEY...? DONKEY...!
Panda says, HM.
Panda looks through the doorway.
Panda says, DONKEY...? ARE YOU DOWN THERE?
Donkey stands in Grampy’s workshop.
[Donkey gasping]
Panda says, OH, THERE YOU ARE, DONKEY!

Panda says, HI...!
[Laughing]
Donkey hides the wind racer behind her back.
Panda says, GRAMPY TOLD ME ABOUT, UH, HIS OLD WIND RACER--

Panda asks, IS THAT IT OVER THERE?
Donkey replies, YES. I MEAN, NO. WHAT?! WIND RACER?!
[Donkey laughing]
Donkey says, WHAT WIND RACER?

Donkey says, HEY, HOW YA DOING... BUDDY?
[Donkey laughing]
Panda says, UH... HM? YOU OKAY, DONKEY?
Donkey shakes her head.
[Whooshing]
Donkey says, NO, NOT REALLY. I WAS PLAYING WITH THE WIND RACER, AND IT GOT WINDIER AND WINDIER, SO THE RACER WAS GOING FASTER AND FASTER, AND THEN, I, UM...
[Groaning, gentle music plays]
Donkey says, I BROKE IT.
[Panda gasping]
Panda says, OH NO...
Donkey says, IT'S GRAMPY'S MOST FAVOURITE TOY. IT WAS A SUPER-SPECIAL GIFT FROM HIS GRAMPY. OH, WHAT AM I GONNA DO?
Panda says, WELL... YOU SHOULD TELL HIM, DONKEY.
Donkey says, OH... BUT IT'LL MAKE HIM SO SAD. AND THEN, I'LL BE SAD THAT HE'S SAD, AND THEN HE'LL BE SAD THAT I'M SAD THAT HE'S SAD, AND THEN I'LL BE SAD THAT--
Panda says, UH, DONKEY...
[Donkey sighing]
Donkey says, I JUST FEEL TERRIBLE ABOUT IT, PANDA. I REALLY DIDN'T MEAN TO BREAK IT.
Panda says, OH, DONKEY... I KNOW YOU DIDN'T.
[Donkey sighing]
Panda says, AND SO WILL GRAMPY. DONKEY, YOU'RE GONNA FEEL A LOT BETTER ONCE YOU TELL HIM THE TRUTH.

Donkey walks up a staircase and stands in the doorway.

Donkey watches Grampy walk past the doorway.
[Grampy humming, Donkey whimpering]
Donkey walks back down the staircase.
Donkey says, OH... I REALLY DON'T WANT TO TELL GRAMPY I BROKE HIS WIND RACER.
Panda says, OH, BUT WHY NOT, DONKEY?
Donkey says, I'M TOO SCARED! I DON'T WANNA MAKE GRAMPY SAD.
[Donkey sighing]
Donkey says, THINK, DONKEY HODIE, THINK!
[Sighing]
Donkey says, HM?
Donkey looks at tools on Grampy’s worktable.
[Gasping]
Donkey says, HEY, MAYBE WE CAN FIX THE WIND RACER!
Panda says, HM. WELL...THAT'S ONE WAY TO DO IT, I GUESS.
Donkey says, OH, PLEASE, PANDA! I JUST CAN'T TELL GRAMPY!
[Panda sighing]
Panda says, OKAY, DONKEY. IF THAT'S WHAT YOU WANNA DO, I'M HERE FOR YOU.
Donkey says, OH, THANK YOU!
Donkey hugs Panda.
[Both giggling]
Panda says, 'WELCOME, DONKEY.
Donkey says, OKAY, SO HE'S GOT SOME TAPE, AND SOME STRING, AND GLUE.
Panda says, HM...
Donkey says, LET'S GET TO WORK!
Panda says, OKAY!
Later, Donkey holds the wind racer, covered with tape.
Donkey says, MM...IS THIS ANY BETTER?
Panda says, UH... NO. BUT IT DEFINITELY LOOKS...WORSE?
[Donkey sighing]
Donkey says, OH, PANDA. WHAT AM I GONNA DO?
Panda says, DONKEY, IT'S TIME TO TELL GRAMPY THE TRUTH.
Donkey says, I WANT TO, BUT IT'S STILL TOO SCARY! THIS WIND RACER IS REALLY SPECIAL TO HIM. DON'T YOU THINK HE'LL BE SAD IF I TELL HIM?
Panda says, OH, HE'S DEFINITELY GOING TO BE SAD.
Donkey says, I HA, PANDA! AREN'T YOU TRYING TO CHEER ME UP?
Panda says, WELL, DONKEY, WHAT I'M TRYING TO TELL YOU IS THAT EVEN THOUGH IT WILL PROBABLY MAKE HIM SAD, ONCE YOU TELL THE TRUTH YOU WILL FEEL SO MUCH BETTER, DONKEY! BECAUSE THEN YOU AND GRAMPY CAN FIX THE WIND RACER TOGETHER.
[Gentle music plays]
Donkey says, YEAH. YEAH, I THINK YOU'RE RIGHT.
[Sighing]
Panda says, DONKEY? I MIGHT HAVE SOMETHING TO TELL YOU NOW THAT MIGHT MAKE YOU FEEL BAD.
Donkey says, YOU DO?
Panda says, YEAH. UM... I'M PRETTY SURE THAT MY ARM IS GLUED TO YOUR SHOULDER.
Donkey says, HM?
Donkey moves, and Panda’s arm sticks to her shoulder.
[Donkey grunting]
Panda says, YUP. TOTALLY STUCK.
[Sighing]
Panda says, WOO! BUT WHAT A RELIEF TO TELL YOU THE TRUTH! OH, I FEEL GREAT NOW. STICKY BUT GREAT.
[Donkey giggling]
Grampy shouts, DONKEY? PANDA? WHERE ARE YOU? I'M READY TO RACE!
Panda says, WELL, DONKEY? YOU READY?
Donkey says, I'M STILL SCARED. WILL YOU COME WITH ME?
Panda says, OF COURSE, I WILL!
[Giggling]
Panda says, AND I PROBABLY NEED TO, BECAUSE OF THE... STICKY ARM THING.
[Both chuckling]
Donkey says, THANKS. I, DONKEY HODIE, AM GOING TO TELL GRAMPY I BROKE HIS WIND RACER.
[Donkey inhaling deeply, Panda giggling]
Donkey walks, and Panda stumbles behind her.
Panda says, WHOA!
Donkey and Panda walk up the stairs into the living room.
Grampy says, OH, THERE YOU TWO ARE! I'VE GOT MY RACING HAT ON, LET'S GO!
Donkey says, I'D REALLY LOVE TO, GRAMPY, BUT I HAVE SOMETHING TO TELL YA.
Grampy says, WHAT IS IT, DONKEROO?
Panda whispers, YOU CAN DO IT, DONKEY.
Donkey holds up the wind racer.
Donkey says, GRAMPY, I...BROKE YOUR WIND RACER. I'M REALLY, REALLY SORRY! I CRASHED IT INTO A TREE, AND I TRIED TO FIX IT, BUT I COULDN'T.
[Tense music plays]
Grampy says, OH. UH...
Grampy takes the wind racer.
[Sad music plays]
Grampy says, THIS WIND RACER IS REALLY SPECIAL. I HAVE A LOT OF GREAT MEMORIES OF RACING IT WITH YOUR GREAT-GREAT-GRAMPY HODIE.

Donkey says, OH... BUT IT'LL MAKE HIM SO SAD. AND THEN, I'LL BE SAD THAT HE'S SAD, AND THEN HE'LL BE SAD THAT I'M SAD THAT HE'S SAD, AND THEN I'LL BE SAD THAT--
Panda says, UH, DONKEY...
[Donkey sighing]
Donkey says, I JUST FEEL TERRIBLE ABOUT IT, PANDA. I REALLY DIDN'T MEAN TO BREAK IT.
Panda says, OH, DONKEY... I KNOW YOU DIDN'T.
[Donkey sighing]
Panda says, AND SO WILL GRAMPY. DONKEY, YOU'RE GONNA FEEL A LOT BETTER ONCE YOU TELL HIM THE TRUTH.
Donkey asks, YOU REALLY THINK SO?
Panda says, I REALLY THINK SO.
[Donkey sighing, gentle music plays]
Donkey says, OKAY.
Donkey walks up a staircase and stands in the doorway.
Donkey says, I, DONKEY HODIE, UH—
Donkey watches Grampy walk past the doorway.
[Grampy humming, Donkey whimpering]
Donkey walks back down the staircase.
Donkey says, OH... I REALLY DON'T WANT TO TELL GRAMPY I BROKE HIS WIND RACER.
Panda says, OH, BUT WHY NOT, DONKEY?
Donkey says, I'M TOO SCARED! I DON'T WANNA MAKE GRAMPY SAD.
[Donkey sighing]
Donkey says, THINK, DONKEY HODIE, THINK!
[Sighing]
Donkey says, HM?
Donkey looks at tools on Grampy’s worktable.
[Gasping]
Donkey says, HEY, MAYBE WE CAN FIX THE WIND RACER!
Panda says, HM. WELL...THAT'S ONE WAY TO DO IT, I GUESS.
Donkey says, OH, PLEASE, PANDA! I JUST CAN'T TELL GRAMPY!
[Panda sighing]
Panda says, OKAY, DONKEY. IF THAT'S WHAT YOU WANNA DO, I'M HERE FOR YOU.
Donkey says, OH, THANK YOU!
Donkey hugs Panda.
[Both giggling]
Panda says, 'WELCOME, DONKEY.
Donkey says, OKAY, SO HE'S GOT SOME TAPE, AND SOME STRING, AND GLUE.
Panda says, HM...
Donkey says, LET'S GET TO WORK!
Panda says, OKAY!
Later, Donkey holds the wind racer, covered with tape.
Donkey says, MM...IS THIS ANY BETTER?
Panda says, UH... NO. BUT IT DEFINITELY LOOKS...WORSE?
[Donkey sighing]
Donkey says, OH, PANDA. WHAT AM I GONNA DO?
Panda says, DONKEY, IT'S TIME TO TELL GRAMPY THE TRUTH.
Donkey says, I WANT TO, BUT IT'S STILL TOO SCARY! THIS WIND RACER IS REALLY SPECIAL TO HIM. DON'T YOU THINK HE'LL BE SAD IF I TELL HIM?
Panda says, OH, HE'S DEFINITELY GOING TO BE SAD.
Donkey says, I HA, PANDA! AREN'T YOU TRYING TO CHEER ME UP?
Panda says, WELL, DONKEY, WHAT I'M TRYING TO TELL YOU IS THAT EVEN THOUGH IT WILL PROBABLY MAKE HIM SAD, ONCE YOU TELL THE TRUTH YOU WILL FEEL SO MUCH BETTER, DONKEY! BECAUSE THEN YOU AND GRAMPY CAN FIX THE WIND RACER TOGETHER.
[Gentle music plays]
Donkey says, YEAH. YEAH, I THINK YOU'RE RIGHT.
[Sighing]
Panda says, DONKEY? I MIGHT HAVE SOMETHING TO TELL YOU NOW THAT MIGHT MAKE YOU FEEL BAD.
Donkey says, YOU DO?
Panda says, YEAH. UM... I'M PRETTY SURE THAT MY ARM IS GLUED TO YOUR SHOULDER.
Donkey says, HM?
Donkey moves, and Panda’s arm sticks to her shoulder.
[Donkey grunting]
Panda says, YUP. TOTALLY STUCK.
[Sighing]
Panda says, WOO! BUT WHAT A RELIEF TO TELL YOU THE TRUTH! OH, I FEEL GREAT NOW. STICKY BUT GREAT.
[Donkey giggling]
Grampy shouts, DONKEY? PANDA? WHERE ARE YOU? I'M READY TO RACE!
Panda says, WELL, DONKEY? YOU READY?
Donkey says, I'M STILL SCARED. WILL YOU COME WITH ME?
Panda says, OF COURSE, I WILL!
[Giggling]
Panda says, AND I PROBABLY NEED TO, BECAUSE OF THE... STICKY ARM THING.
[Both chuckling]
Donkey says, THANKS. I, DONKEY HODIE, AM GOING TO TELL GRAMPY I BROKE HIS WIND RACER.
[Donkey inhaling deeply, Panda giggling]
Donkey walks, and Panda stumbles behind her.
Panda says, WHOA!
Donkey and Panda walk up the stairs into the living room.
Grampy says, OH, THERE YOU TWO ARE! I'VE GOT MY RACING HAT ON, LET'S GO!
Donkey says, I'D REALLY LOVE TO, GRAMPY, BUT I HAVE SOMETHING TO TELL YA.
Grampy says, WHAT IS IT, DONKEROO?
Panda whispers, YOU CAN DO IT, DONKEY.
Donkey holds up the wind racer.
Donkey says, GRAMPY, I...BROKE YOUR WIND RACER. I'M REALLY, REALLY SORRY! I CRASHED IT INTO A TREE, AND I TRIED TO FIX IT, BUT I COULDN'T.
[Tense music plays]
Grampy says, OH. UH...
Grampy takes the wind racer.
[Sad music plays]
Grampy says, THIS WIND RACER IS REALLY SPECIAL. I HAVE A LOT OF GREAT MEMORIES OF RACING IT WITH YOUR GREAT-GREAT-GRAMPY HODIE.
Donkey says, I KNOW. I'M SORRY.
Grampy says, BUT I'LL ALWAYS HAVE THOSE MEMORIES. AND I STILL HAVE THE WIND RACER. IT'S JUST...WELL, A LITTLE DIFFERENT THAN BEFORE. THANK YOU FOR TELLING ME THE TRUTH, DONKEY HODIE. I KNOW IT CAN BE SCARY SOMETIMES.
Donkey says, IT WAS!
Panda says, YEAH, BUT DID IT HELP? EH, DO YOU FEEL BETTER?
Donkey says, HM. YOU KNOW WHAT? I DO...! I WAS SO SCARED FOR SO LONG, BUT NOT TELLING YOU MADE IT FEEL WORSE.
[Upbeat music plays]
Grampy says, I'M PROUD OF YOU, DONKEY! TELLING THE TRUTH IS HARD, AND YOU DID IT. AND REMEMBER THAT YOU CAN TELL ME ANYTHING AT ANY TIME.
[Blues music plays]
Grampy sings, SOMETIMES, WHEN YOU'RE FEELING SAD, YA THINK YOU'RE ON YOUR OWN. REMEMBER, YOU CAN COME TO ME; YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE ALONE. IF THINGS ARE HARD OR SCARY, YOU CAN COME TO ME WITH TEARS. [Donkey gasping, cheerful music plays]
Grampy asks, WHAT DO YOU SAY WE MAKE SOME NEW MEMORIES, WORKING ON THIS TOGETHER?!
Donkey says, HA, HA, YEE-HAW!
Panda says, HEY-OOH!
Grampy says, LET'S DO IT!
Later, outside, Grampy holds up the repaired wind racer.
Grampy says, IF YOU ASK ME, THIS LOOKS BETTER THAN EVER!
Donkey says, MAYBE IT'LL GO EVEN FASTER TOO!
[Birds chirping]
Grampy says, HM-HM! WELL, NOW THAT IT'S ALL FIXED UP AND SPIFFY, I WANT TO GIVE IT TO YOU.
[Donkey gasping, gentle music plays]
Donkey says, TO ME...?
Grampy says, MM-HM! IT WAS A SPECIAL GIFT FROM MY GRAMPY, AND NOW I WANT YOU TO HAVE IT.
[Donkey gasping]
Donkey says, THANKS, GRAMPY!
Grampy says, MM-HM. NOW, LET'S SEE THAT WIND RACER ZOOM!
Panda says, OH, YEAH!
Donkey starts the wind racer, and it floats away from everyone.
[Beeping, thrumming, slide whistle]
Grampy shouts, WHOA. THERE IT GOES.
Everyone chases the wind racer.
[Everyone laughing, whirring]
They stand and watch the wind racer fly.
[Whirring]
Donkey says, WHOO!
Panda says, OH.
Grampy says, WHOA! WOW...LOOK AT IT GO!
[Whirring]
Donkey says, YEE-HAW!
