In a forest, Odo, a brown and white owl, says, HERE I COME.

[Bushes rustling, guitar music plays]

Odo sings, ODO.

Three chickens sing, ODO.

Birds and a peacock sing, ODO.

Three yellow canaries sing, ODO.

Odo jumps in a muddy puddle.

[Splashing]

Toucans sing, ODO.

Flamingos sing, ODO.

All the birds sing, ODO.

Title: Odo.

Text reads, “Created by Colin Williams.”

[Chiming]

Episode title: Thelma’s Song.

Text reads, “Written by Mark Huckerby and Nick Ostler.”

The camp leader flaps her wings.

[Birds chirping, gentle music plays]

The camp leader says, LEARNING TO FLY IS EASY. THE HARD PART IS LEARNING HOW TO LAND. ODO?

Odo stands on a platform with Doodle, Thelma and a line of birds behind them.

Odo shouts, LOOK OUT BELOW!

Odo jumps off the platform and lands on the grass below.

[Whooshing]

The camp leader says, GREAT LANDING.

[Camp leader applauds]

The camp leader says, THELMA, YOU'RE UP.

Thelma, a brown and white thrush, jumps off the platform.

[Whooshing]

Thelma shouts, WHEE! EXCELLENT! WHO IS NEXT?

A peacock jumps off the platform and spreads his tail feathers as he lands.

[Grunting, chuckling]

A swan leaps to the ground and twirls. An orange and white chicken leaps to the ground.

[Rustling]

The chicken shouts, WHOA!

A yellow and white and a brown and white chicken leap and land on top of the orange and white chicken.

[Clucking, rustling, birds giggling]

The camp leader says, HMM. AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST, DOODLE! UH, DOODLE?

[Birds chirping]

Doodle says, OH, YEP. UH, ONE, TWO-- UH, TWO AND A HALF...THREE!

Doodle, a bluebird, jumps off the platform and flaps her wings.

Doodle shouts, WHOA!

Doodle lands on a bush and bounces onto Thelma and Odo, knocking them over.

[Whooshing, boinking, grunting]

Doodle asks, UH, DID THAT WORK?

[Rain pattering, gasping, thunder booming]

The camp leader says, OH, I'VE LEFT MY UNDIES DRYING OUTSIDE! OOH.

[Whooshing, birds chirping]

Later, Odo, Thelma, and Doodle sit on logs beneath a canopy tent.

Doodle says, AWW, BUT I REALLY WANT TO LAND ON MY FEET.

[Rain pattering, gentle music plays]

Thelma says, WELL, CHEER UP, DOODLE. AS SOON AS THE RAIN IS GONE, I'LL SING YOU A SONG.

The rain stops.

[Doodle gasping]

Thelma says, IT'S KIND OF A SPECIAL THRUSH THING. WHEN THE RAIN STOPS, AND THE SUN COMES OUT, THE THRUSH IS THE FIRST BIRD TO OPEN ITS BEAK AND--

[Odo hooting, Thelma gasping]

Odo sings, HOOTIE, HOOT.

[Thelma sighing, Doodle’s footsteps tapping]

Doodle says, UH, ODO?

Odo says, COME ON OUT, EVERYONE! IT STOPPED RAINING. HOOTIE, HOOT HOOT!

Thelma says, BUT I-- I--

Thelma jumps off her log and runs past Odo and Doodle.

[Whooshing, Thelma sobbing, birds chirping]

Doodle says, ODO, THELMA IS SUPPOSED TO BE THE FIRST ONE TO SING AFTER THE RAIN!

Odo says, HUH? SHE IS?

Doodle says, IT'S KIND OF A SPECIAL THRUSH THING.

Odo says, OH NO! I DIDN'T MEAN TO UPSET HER. YOU KNOW WHAT WE NEED TO DO?

Doodle says, SAY SORRY?

Odo says, NOPE, WE'LL DO SOMETHING EVEN BETTER. WE'LL MAKE IT RAIN AGAIN SO THELMA CAN SING. I KNOW WE CAN!

Pigeon Post, a mail carrier, says, AH, I LOVE A DROP OF RAIN, ME.

Doodle asks BECAUSE IT MAKES EVERYTHING LOOK SHINY AND NEW?

Pigeon Post says, NO, BECAUSE IT'S A GOOD REASON FOR A CUP OF TEA AND A BISCUIT OR TOO! OR THREE.

Pigeon Post holds a cup of tea and a chocolate chip biscuit.

[Tea sloshes, upbeat music plays, slurping, crunching]

Odo asks, BUT HOW DO WE MAKE IT RAIN?

Pigeon Post says, I'VE HEARD THAT PUTTING UP AN UMBRELLA WHEN IT'S NOT RAINING MIGHT HELP. AND YOU CAN ALWAYS TRY DANCING AROUND, TOO.

[Tea sloshing, Pigeon Post singing]

Odo says, THIS IS SERIOUS, DOODLE. WE'RE GOING TO HAVE TO BORROW AN UMBRELLA!

Doodle says, AND LEARN HOW TO DANCE.

Odo says, HAH! EASY. IT WILL BE POURING RAIN IN NO TIME.

Odo jumps off a tree stump.

[Whooshing, girds singing]

Odo says, AND WHEN IT STOPS, THELMA CAN SING.

[Whooshing, birds singing]

Later, in a field, Odo and Doodle hold umbrellas and Odo dances beneath the clear blue sky.

Odo sings, THE SKY MIGHT BE BLUE BUT NOT FOR VERY LONG, IT WILL BE ABSOLUTELY POURING BY THE END OF THIS SONG.

[Upbeat music plays]

Odo opens his umbrella.

[Clicking]

Doodle sings, SO, HEY THERE, RAIN, COME AND SAY HELLO AND FALL ALL OVER MY UMBRELL-O.

Doodle says, I CAN'T... UGH...OPEN IT!

Doodle struggles with her umbrella. Nearby, Thelma watches from behind a bush.

[Grunting, clicking]

Odo says, COME ON! RAIN!

Doodle’s umbrella opens and knocks her onto a tree branch.

Doodle shouts, WHOA!

[Leaves rustling]

Odo says, WE NEED ANOTHER IDEA.

[Thelma sighing, whooshing, birds singing]

On a chalkboard, a drawing shows wavy lines beside an arrow pointing to a cloud. Beside it is a cloud raining, with arrows pointing at the ground. The camp leader sprays water from a hose over Odo and Doodle, who wiggles inside her pink umbrella.

[Water spraying, chalk scraping]

The camp leader says, SO, WATER EVAPORATES FROM THE GROUND, GOES UP INTO THE SKY TO FORM GREY CLOUDS, AND THEN IT FALLS AS RAIN AGAIN. ANY QUESTIONS?

Doodle asks, UM, WHY IS MY UMBRELLA TRYING TO EAT ME?

[Rustling]

Odo opens the umbrella. Doodle stands and holds her umbrella open over her.

Odo says, YOU SEE, DOODLE? IT'S GREY CLOUDS THAT MAKE THE RAIN FALL.

Doodle says, OH!

[Wind gusting, Doodle exclaims]

Odo says, I'LL JUST GO AND FIND A GREY CLOUD. THANKS FOR THE LESSON, CAMP LEADER!

Doodle says, WHOA!

The wind blows Doodle and her umbrella.

[Whooshing]

Odo says, I'M COMING, DOODLE.

[Birds chirping, whooshing]

Doodle stands beneath a cardboard cloud dangling from a rope tied to a tree.

Doodle asks, HOW IS IT GOING TO RAIN FROM A CARDBOARD CLOUD?

Odo runs and grabs the hose. He carries it up the tree and puts it behind the cardboard cloud.

[Upbeat music plays softly, Odo panting, grunting, leaves rustling]

Odo says, TAH-DAH! NOW ALL WE HAVE TO DO IS GET THELMA UNDER THE CLOUD, TURN THE RAIN ON AND OFF, THEN LISTEN TO HER SING.

In a field, Thelma sits on a tree stump. Odo runs to her, carrying an umbrella.

[Gentle music plays, birds chirping]

Odo says, THELMA, HURRY! I THINK IT'S GOING TO RAIN.

Thelma looks up at the sun in the clear blue sky.

Thelma says, YOU SEEM TO KNOW A LOT ABOUT THE WEATHER ALL OF A SUDDEN.

Odo says, TRUST ME, IT WILL RAIN! AND WHEN IT STOPS, WE ALL WANT TO HEAR YOU SING.

Odo opens his umbrella and puts it over Thelma’s head. He walks her to the cardboard cloud.

[Whooshing, Thelma sighing]

Odo says, YEP, GETTING CLOUDY! LOOKS LIKE IT'S GOING TO RAIN, RIGHT...

Thelma holds the umbrella over her head. Odo gently pushes her beneath the cardboard cloud.

[Rustling]

Odo says, HERE.

Thelma says, OH!

Odo says, NO, A BIT TO THE LEFT.

Odo gently repositions Thelma. On the other side of the bushes, Doodle sits beside a faucet.

[Rustling]

Odo says, HERE. YEP. IT LOOKS LIKE RAIN TO ME.

[Upbeat music plays]

Odo shouts, I SAID, "IT LOOKS LIKE RAIN!"

Doodle says, OH!

Doodle turns on the water and water from the hose sprays onto Thelma’s umbrella.

[Whooshing, Faucet squeaking, water burbling, rain pattering]

Thelma says, HMM?

Odo says, PROBABLY JUST A PASSING SHOWER.

[Thelma gasping]

Thelma asks, ARE YOU SURE?

Odo says, DEFINITELY. YOU'LL BE SINGING IN NO TIME. OH, LOOK! THE RAIN IS STOPPING.

Odo shouts, I SAID, "THE RAIN IS STOPPING!"

Doodle says, OH!

Doodle turns off the hose.

[Faucet squeaking, rain stops]

Odo says, THELMA, THE STAGE IS YOURS.

The camp leader and two swans look at Thelma.

The camp leader says, HUH?

[Thelma inhaling deeply]

A chicken shouts, HEY, I WANT TO SEE!

The three chickens run past Doodle, turning the faucet on. Doodle clings to the faucet and spins in circles. Water sprays from the hose and knocks Thelma over.

[Clucking, shouting, water, spraying, whooshing]

Odo shouts, OH NO! THELMA!

The hose whips around, spraying the swans and chasing Odo.

[Chaotic squawking]

Odo shouts, AH! WHOA! WHOA!

[Shouting, water spraying]

The camp leader says, IT'S THE WATER CYCLE IN ACTION!

Pigeon Post drops letters and the hose sprays them.

Pigeon Post shouts, OH, WHOA!

Odo and Doodle shout, TURN IT OFF!

[Screaming, Thelma giggling]

Doodle says, I KNOW WHAT TO DO!

Odo says, AH! TURN IT OFF?

Doodle says, NO! CRASH LAND!

Doodle jumps off a tree branch and lands on the end of the hose. Odo jumps on behind her, the water stops and the hose stops moving.

[Grunting, whooshing, spraying stops]

Doodle says, WE DID IT, ODO.

Odo says, AND YOU'VE LANDED ON YOUR FEET!

Thelma stands on the faucet. She jumps down and walks to the other birds.

[Whooshing, gentle music plays]

Thelma sings, LA-LA-LA-LA, LA-LA-LA-LA, LA-LA-LA, LA.

[Birds gasping, exclaiming]

Odo says, I'M SORRY I SANG BEFORE YOU DID, THELMA. IT'S YOUR SPECIAL THING. AND I'M SORRY ABOUT THE PRETEND CLOUD AND THE PRETEND RAIN. AND I'M SORRY THAT I DIDN'T JUST SAY SORRY.

Thelma hugs Odo.

[Birds singing, gentle music continues]

Thelma says, NO NEED TO SAY SORRY, ODO. I FEEL SO MUCH BETTER.

Odo says, WE'D LOVE TO HEAR ANOTHER SONG.

Thelma says, IT HAS TO RAIN FIRST.

Odo runs to the faucet.

[Whooshing]

Odo says, THAT, I CAN DO!

Odo turns the faucet and the hose moves. Doodle flies up into the air and opens her umbrella.

[Faucet squeaking, whooshing, Doodle gasping]

Doodle cheers, WEE!

Doodle floats down to the ground by Odo. A rainbow forms behind Thelma.

[Doodle giggling, water spraying]

Thelma sings, LA-LA-LA-LA, LA-LA-LA-LA, LA.
