Khalil

Khali is an 8-year-old boy who lives in Ottawa, Ontario with his family. He is French Canadian and Cameroonian and celebrates his culture by playing soccer with his friends - which is called football in Cameroon! Back home, Khalil gives us a tour of his room and shows us his drawings and soccer medals before teaching us how to make hibiscus juice with his grandmother - yum! His grandmother is also teaching him how to make clothes with pagne, a colourful African fabric. Khalil loves being active - he and his younger sister Zaynab practice Afro-Caribbean dance moves with their mom. Khalil also loves running. Outside, he brings us to the track to beat his previous record - he's very fast! His special surprise comes from one of his role models who tells him to hold his head high and keep moving forward!
